Steve rushed into the living room to see what was going on. He found Catherine comforting Kailani.

"What happened?" Steve asked concerned.

"Kailani was trying to walk but she fell and she hit her arm on the paw."

"Is she okay?"

"Yeah, it's just from the shock."

"Okay good." Steve let out a relieved sigh and walked back in the kitchen.

Catherine sat there trying to calm Kailani down. She gave Kailani her pacifier and she calmed down.

"It's okay sweetie, mommy's got you."

Kailani was completely calmed down when they sat down to eat.

….

It was time for another doctor's appointment for Catherine. She was now 12 weeks pregnant. Steve went with her to the appointment since it was after work. The doctor did some tests on Catherine and checked the baby. The baby was doing fine. They made a new appointment for 4 weeks from now on their way out.

Catherine looked at the ultrasound picture on the way home. She still couldn't believe that she was actually pregnant again. She really hoped this time everything would go fine. She put the picture in her purse before they walked into the house.

"Hey Lauren," Steve greeted as they stepped in.

"Hey guys."

Kye and Kailani came crawling over to them as soon as they stepped inside. Catherine picked up Kailani and Steve picked up Kye.

"Mama," Kailani spoke.

"Did you hear that honey?" Catherine asked Steve with a smile on her face.

"Yes I did, she said mama."

"Well done sweetie," Catherine told her and gave her a kiss.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow," Lauren told them and she left.

Steve put Kye on the ground and went into the kitchen to get started on dinner. Kye crawled after him and was upset when Steve closed the gate to the kitchen.

"Sorry buddy, daddy has to go make dinner. You can hang out with mommy and Kailani."

Kye didn't leave the gate so Catherine came to pick him up. He started screaming at the top of his lungs when Catherine took him away from the gate.

"It's okay buddy. Daddy is just making dinner."

Catherine tried to calm him down but nothing was working.

"Give him to me," Steve spoke after a while.

Catherine gave him to Steve and he calmed down.

"You wanna be with daddy huh?" Steve spoke to him.

Steve put him in his high chair and gave him a toy while he continued on dinner. He was calmed down now. He was definitely a daddy's boy.

They sat down to eat once dinner was ready. The kids ate pretty well. Steve took them upstairs for bath while Catherine cleaned up. When Catherine walked into the bathroom after she was done she saw Steve sitting in the tub with the kids.

"Care to join us honey?"

"Of course."

Catherine stripped out of her clothes and joined them in the bath. The kids loved it. They splashed around in the tub and played with their water toys. They didn't like it when it was time to go out. Steve took Kye out first and dried him off. He put him in his bouncy chair and he got Kailani. Catherine went out too and dried herself off. Once she was dressed she took Kye to the kids' room to get him dressed for bed. Steve followed with Kailani shortly after.

Tonight it was Steve turn to read a book. They loved the book about animals. They could recognize the animals and point to them. Once they book was finished they put them in their cribs and kissed them goodnight. As soon as they were out of the room Catherine bolted to the bathroom. Steve could hear her puking a second later.

"You okay honey?" Steve asked as he walked into the bathroom.

"Yeah, I'm good," Catherine replied as she got up. "Just a bit nauseous."

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay. It's all part of being pregnant."

"Yes I know," Steve told her as he wrapped his arms around her from behind. "I'm very happy you're pregnant."

"Me too. I just hope it'll be alright this time."

"I'm sure it will honey." Steve gave her a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Steve put his hands on her stomach and he could already feel a little bump there. "We should tell the others soon."

"After I'm done with my first trimester, that's 4 weeks from now."

"Okay, that's fine."

They went downstairs and sat on the couch to watch a movie.

In the middle of the night they heard a cry coming over the monitor.

"I'll go," Steve told Catherine and he gave her a kiss before going out. "Hey, what's the matter sweetie?"

Steve picked up Kailani and tried to calm her down. He took her outside the room so Kye wouldn't wake up.

"Shhhh, it's okay sweetie, daddy's got you."

Steve checked her over to see if something was wrong. He felt her head and noticed she was burning up. He grabbed the baby thermometer from the bathroom and took her temperature. It was 102.

"Shh, it's okay sweetie. Shhhh."

Steve grabbed some baby Tylenol and gave it to her before taken her to the bedroom.

"What's wrong?" Catherine asked concerned as Steve walked in with a crying Kailani.

"She's got a fever. I already gave her some Tylenol."

"Poor thing. That's good."

"I'll take her downstairs so you can get some sleep."

"It's okay you can stay here. I won't be able to sleep much anyway."

"Alright."

Steve crawled back in the bed and Catherine crawled against him. She softly stroked her daughter's head.

"It's okay Kailani."

The three of them lay there for a while until Kailani had fallen asleep again. Catherine fell asleep not long after that. Steve couldn't sleep. He kept his eyes on Kailani to make sure she was okay. He had dozed off a bit when his alarm went off. Kailani was still sleeping peacefully on his chest with Catherine next to her. Steve carefully stood up and placed Kailani in the bed next to Catherine and he put some pillows next to her so she couldn't fall off. He checked on Kye. He was still sleeping in his crib. He changed into his swim shorts and went for a swim.

When he came back Catherine was awake and she sat in bed with Kailani.

"How is she?"

"A bit better. Her temp has gone down a bit."

"That's good. I'm just gonna go in the shower."

Just after Steve left the bedroom Kailani started waking up.

"Hey sweetie. It's okay sweetie, mommy's got you."

Catherine got up and gave her another baby Tylenol.

"Hey my little sweetie," Steve spoke as he stepped out of the shower and saw his little girl.

"Can you take her Steve so I can get dressed?"

"Sure. Come here little girl."

Steve took her to the bedroom and put her on the bed while he got dressed. He then took her downstairs to try to get her to eat something. Kailani finished about half a jar before she had enough. Just as Catherine walked down with Kye Lauren stepped in.

"Good morning," Lauren spoke.

"Good morning," Catherine replied.

Kye immediately wanted Lauren's attention so Catherine handed him off to Lauren.

"Hey buddy."

"Kailani is a bit sick. She has a fever of 100. We gave her some Tylenol already but if she needs it you can give her another one in the afternoon."

"Aw poor thing. Did she sleep much tonight?"

"A bit. After Steve took her to our bed she slept a bit."

"That's good. Don't worry. I'll take care of her today."

"Thank you."

"Morning Steve," Lauren spoke as she walked into the kitchen.

"Morning Lauren."

"How is she?"

"Better. She ate half a jar so try to get her to eat the other half during lunch."

"I will. Catherine told me what happened, I'll take good care of her."

"Thanks."

Steve and Catherine left for work. Catherine couldn't really concentrate on work. Her mind was what Kailani.

"You okay Cath?" Kono asked causing Catherine to snap out of her thoughts.

"Yeah, Kailani is just a bit sick, she had a fever."

"Poor thing."

"Yeah. Lauren is with her now so she's good."

Catherine was happy when they could go home at the end of the day. She wanted to see her little girl.

"Hey guys," Catherine greeted them as they stepped in.

"You're just in time," Lauren replied and Steve and Catherine looked at Kye.

He was at the corner of the table and he tried to walk towards Lauren who was sitting a few steps from the table. Kye removed his hand from the table and walked towards Lauren. He was a bit wobbly but he managed to get to Lauren.

"There's a good boy," Lauren told him.

Catherine and Steve were all smiles as they watched Kye walked. Catherine couldn't help but cry a bit.

"Well done buddy," Steve spoke as he walked over to them. Kye looked at him and immediately wanted to go to his father. "Did you walk huh? Yes daddy saw you. Such a big boy." Steve gave him a kiss.

"How's Kailani doing?" Catherine asked as she looked over to the playpen where Kailani was.

"She's doing better. Her fever has gone down to 99 so it's getting better. I gave her one more Tylenol in the afternoon. She managed to sleep for 2 hours in the afternoon."

"That's good."

"I'll see you guys tomorrow."

"Yeah see you, thank you for keeping an eye on Kailani."

"Of course. See ya."

"Did you see that honey? Our little boy walked."

"Yes I saw that, well done Kye." Catherine gave him a kiss. "I'll go get started on dinner."

Steve sat down on the couch with Kye.

"You're such a big boy. Yes you are. Daddy saw you walk. Such a good boy."

"Dada."

"Yes, that's me, dada. Can you say mama too? Say mama."

"Dada."

"No mama. Say mama."

"Dada," Kye replied with a smile.

"You'll get it eventually."

Steve looked over to Kailani. She was lying peacefully in her playpen. She looked better. Steve took her temperature before they put the kids to bed. It was 98.2 which meant it had gotten done again.

"I think tonight we can do without the Tylenol," Steve told Catherine.

"Are you sure? I don't want her to wake up in the middle of the night."

"Yeah I think she'll be fine. And if she does wake up at night I will go out."

"Alright."

They gave the kids a kiss and left the room after putting them in their cribs. Once they were outside Steve scooped Catherine up and carried her to their room. All kissing he put her on the bed and got down next to her. His hand moved over to her stomach and rubbed it.

"I love you so much Cath," Steve told her in a passionate voice.

"I love you too Steve."

"And I love this little baby inside you too." Steve moved down to her stomach and kissed it. "I'm so glad we're having another baby."

"Yeah me too. I just hope…"

"Don't." Steve crawled back up to her and put a finger to her mouth. "Don't say that anymore okay. It's gonna be fine. Trust me. Okay."

"Okay."

Steve kissed her deeply and started taking her clothes off. They went slowly, enjoying the feeling of being in each other's arms. Catherine liked Steve's touch but her pregnancy hormones were in overdrive and she wanted to feel him in her. Steve didn't seem to get her message so turned them around so she was on top. Without warning she grabbed Steve and pushed him inside of her.

"I love this side of you," Steve told her with a smirk.

"Just shut up and make love to me."

Steve grabbed her hips and helped her move. After a while he turned them back around and finished their love making. Catherine lay with her head on Steve chest and Steve had his arms around her.

"Thank you Steve."

"You're welcome honey."

They lay like that for a while before they fell asleep.

They were pleased the next morning that Kailani had slept through the night. The first thing Catherine did when she woke up was check on her. She was sleeping peacefully and sucking on her pacifier. Relieved Catherine went back to the bedroom.

"How was she?" Steve asked her.

"Sleeping like a little angel."

"Good. I told you she didn't need the Tylenol."

"I know. I'm just glad she's doing better."

"Me too."

It was time for another doctor's appointment for Catherine. She was now 16 weeks. Steve got called into work early so he couldn't go with her. It was Catherine's day off so she took Kye and Kailani with her to the doctor's office. She sat in the waiting room until the doctor called her in.

"Your husband's not joining us today?"

"No, he was called into work early unfortunately."

"Oh, that's too bad. I'll give you a picture so you can show it to him."

"That's fine doctor."

Catherine put the kids down on their play mats and she lay down on the table.

"Let's see if we can find the baby through the womb," the doctor told her.

Catherine rolled up her shirt. You could see a little bump already. The doctor fired up the machine, put some gel on the wand and put it on Catherine's stomach. The doctor moved it around for a bit.

"There's the little baby. Before I continue would you like to know the baby's sex?"

"I haven't talk about that with Steve."

"That's alright. It's probably too soon to see anyway. I just wanted to know. You can let me now during your next appointment."

"Alright. Is the baby doing fine?"

"Let's go see."

The doctor looked at the baby and Catherine waited for the doctor to answer her.

"The baby is doing very well. It's growing very well. It's looks very good. The baby is positioned nicely."

Catherine let out a relieved sigh. The doctor took some more tests and took Catherine's vitals.

"Here's the picture and I'll see you in 4 weeks for your 20 weeks ultrasound."

"Thank you doctor."

Catherine made a new appointment on the way out. As soon as she was home she called Steve.

"Hey Cath," Steve picked up after the second ring.

"Hey honey, are you busy?"

"No, I'm just waiting on some results so I've got a few minutes. How did it go with the doctor?"

"Very well. The baby is growing nice and big and everything looks fine. I sent you a picture of the ultrasound."

Steve looked at his phone and opened the picture. He couldn't help but smile as he saw his little baby. "That's really nice honey. Are you sure everything's okay?"

"Yes, everything looks fine."

"I'm sorry I couldn't go with you."

"It's okay, I understand. You had a case."

Steve looked up and saw Kono waving for him.

"I have to go, I'll talk to you later. I love you."

"I love you too."

Steve walked to the main area and continued with the case.

It was just past 6pm when he walked into the house.

"Hey guys."

"Hey honey." Catherine stood up and kissed him. "I've missed you today."

"I've missed you too. How was your day?"

"Fine, quiet."

"And how where these two little munchkins?" Steve looked down at his feet and saw Kailani and Kye had crawled over to them.

"They were fine. They behaved very well in the doctor's office."

"Good. When are we gonna tell the others about the pregnancy?"

"Soon. How about we invite everyone over here for a barbecue this Saturday?"

"That sounds fine. We have to tell Mary first, she's family."

"I'll give her a call tomorrow."

"Great." Steve gave her one more kiss before Catherine disappeared into the kitchen to get started on dinner.

The next day when Steve was at work Catherine called Mary.

"Hey Catherine," Mary answered the phone.

"Hey Mary, how are you?"

"I'm fine. You?"

"I'm good. Great actually. I'm pregnant."

"Oh my god!" Mary squealed. "You're pregnant? That's awesome, congratulations. How long?"

"16 weeks today."

"I'm so happy for you and Steve."

"Thank you Mary. I was also wondering if you'd like to come over for a barbecue this Saturday."

"That sounds nice. I'll see you there."

"Great. The team will be here too."

"Do they know already?"

"Nope, we're breaking it to them during the barbecue."

"That's fine. I'm so happy for you two."

"Thanks and I'll see you Saturday."

"Yes see you Saturday."

Saturday was the day of the barbecue. Steve and Catherine were excited to tell the rest of the team about the new baby.

"Can I have your attention please?" Steve called when everyone was there. "Catherine and I have some very lovely news to share with you."

"Steve and I are having another baby," Catherine told them happily.

Everyone erupted in applause and came over to congratulate them.

"I had a feeling you were pregnant, but I didn't want to bring it up," Danny told her.

"Yes I am. 16 weeks now."

"I'm very happy for you too."

It was a lovely day. Grace loved playing with Joan and the twins. The twins were dead tired by the time Steve and Catherine took them upstairs. Mary left with Joan shortly after. The rest of the team stayed until it got dark outside. Steve sat at the beach for a little longer. Catherine went upstairs already since she was tired. She checked on the kids before going to bed.

Steve looked out over the ocean. He couldn't believe how his life with Catherine had turned out. He was so happy with her and the twins and now with the new baby.

He was quickly shaken out of his thoughts a little later when he heard a loud scream from the house. He quickly walked into the house. He went to the twins' room but they were still sleeping peacefully. He walked to their bedroom but Catherine wasn't there. He searched the entire house but Catherine was nowhere to be found.
