Catherine's heart sank to the ground as she heard Steve and hospital.

"Yes, he is my husband. Is everything okay?" Catherine asked concerned as she put a hand on her stomach.

"He was shot. It's not that bad. He was shot in his shoulder."

Catherine led out a relieved sigh. "I'll be right there."

Catherine hung up and called Lauren to tell her she would be home later. Lauren told her to make sure Steve was okay and to not worry about the twins.

10 minutes later Catherine arrived at the hospital. She walked up to the desk.

"My husband was just brought in here, Steve McGarrett."

"Ah yes, he's in exam room 2 over there."

"Thank you."

Catherine walked over to the room.

"Cath," Steve spoke as Catherine walked in. "What are you doing here?"

Catherine walked up to Steve and hugged him. "Are you okay honey?"

"I'm fine honey, don't worry about me."

"What happened?"

"The suspects started shooting at us. But we got them in the end."

"Are the others okay?"

"They are fine honey."

"Then why didn't they call me?! I had to wait for a phone call from the hospital!" Catherine snapped.

"I asked them not to. I didn't want to worry you."

"You're my husband Steve. Of course I would worry about you."

"I didn't want to worry you in your condition. I'm fine honey."

"No, you're not, you got shot."

"I'm fine honey. It's nothing."

"Next time you better call me."

"I promise," Steve replied as he grabbed her hand.

"You scared me. I was so scared when I got the call from the hospital."

"I'm sorry honey. I'm sorry I put you in this position. I didn't let them call you because I didn't want to put stress on you in your condition."

"I understand Steve. I'm just glad you're alright."

A little later the doctor came by and Steve was good to go home. Catherine took Steve back home.

"Hey guys," Lauren greeted them as they walked in. "Are you okay Steve?"

"I'm fine, I just got shot in the shoulder."

"Okay, rest up then. If there's anything I can do to help just let me know."

"Thanks, but I think we can manage."

"Alright, I'll see you guys tomorrow."

Catherine showed Lauren out as Steve sat down on the couch with Kye and Kailani.

"Daddy hurt?" Kailani asked with a sad face.

"Yes daddy is a bit hurt."

"Make daddy better." Kailani gave a kiss on Steve's hurt shoulder.

"Thank you sweetie, daddy is feeling better already."

2 weeks later Steve had to go back to the hospital for a checkup. It hadn't been easy around the house with his shoulder in a sling. He had taken it off a few times but Catherine had caught him and told him to but it bag on. His shoulder was healing nicely. He didn't have to wear the sling anymore, but he still had to be careful with it.

That Saturday it was time for Catherine's baby shower. Once everyone was there they started on the gifts. Grace went first.

"This is from me and Danno, I picked it out myself," Grace told Catherine.

"Thank you Grace."

Catherine opened the present. It was a cute pink dress, the top was white with a flower print and the bottom was pink and in the same print there were a pair of slippers.

"Thank you, this is really cute. She'll look great in it."

Kono and Chin bought a gift together. They had gotten them a pink romper with the text: mommy's little sweetheart, a pajama with a pink top with flowers and white pants, a white t-shirt with pink ruffles on the sleeves and in pinks letters Girls on the shirt with some hearts and butterflies around it with pink cotton pants.

From Mary they got a baby gym and from Joan a stuffed animal.

"Thank you guys for all the lovely presents. I'm sure our little girl will love it," Catherine told everyone.

They stayed for the rest of the day. They had a nice barbecue in the back yard.

Once everyone had left Catherine put the gifts they had gotten in the baby's room. She couldn't wait to me their little girl. It was just a few more weeks now. She hoped it would be sooner than later. She didn't think she would make it to 40 weeks. She had enough of being pregnant, but it was all worth it though.

Steve had just put the twins to bed and walked into the nursery.

"You okay honey?" Steve asked and Catherine turned around.

"Yeah I'm fine, I'm just picturing our little girl here."

Steve walked up to her and put his arms around her. "I know me too, I can't wait to meet our little girl. She'll look so cute."

"Yes she will."

Steve gave her a kiss before they went back down. They sat on the couch watching a movie before going to bed.

Catherine lay curled up to her pregnancy pillow when Steve got in. He hated that Catherine used her pregnancy pillow instead of him. He wanted to cuddle with her so he crawled up behind her and put his arm around her. His hand rested on her stomach.

"Goodnight honey," Steve told her as he gave her a kiss on her cheek.

"Goodnight honey."

Catherine snuggled against Steve and together they fell asleep. Catherine woke up a few hours later since the baby had decided to use her as a football.

"Stop kicking mommy," Catherine whispered to her stomach. "Mommy wants to sleep."

"Listen to mommy, stop kicking her," Steve whispered.

"You're awake honey? Sorry if I woke you up."

"It's okay honey. Baby keeping you up?"

"Yeah, she likes to kick my kidneys and bladder."

"Stop kicking mommy," Steve spoke to her stomach. "Be a good girl for daddy and let mommy go back to sleep."

"She really likes your voice."

"She's calming down?"

"Yeah she is."

"That's good."

Catherine crawled up to her pregnancy pillow again. Steve gave her a kiss on her stomach and snuggled in behind her. He gave her a soft kiss on her head and then went back to sleep.

Steve woke up the next morning when Catherine got up to go out of bed.

"Good morning honey," Steve spoke a little sleepy.

"Good morning honey, sorry I didn't mean to wake you but I've gotta pee."

"It's okay."

Catherine went back to bed after she had gone to the bathroom.

"Good morning Steve," Catherine spoke as she crawled back into bed.

"Good morning Cath," Steve replied and gave Catherine a kiss. "And good morning to you too." Steve gave Catherine's stomach a kiss too. "No more kicking last night?"

"No. Like I said she likes your voice."

"That's good. Just a few more weeks before we get to meet her."

"I know. I hope it's sooner than later."

"I know it's not easy for you those last couple of weeks, but we're getting something really beautiful in return."

"I know and it's all worth it."

"I'm really proud of you, you know. What you went through with the twins and now with our little girl. I can see it's not easy for you, especially those last few weeks and the birth. You really are the strongest woman I know and I love you so much."

"I love you too Steve. And I'm so grateful to be carrying your baby and to have carried our twins."

Steve wanted to give Catherine another kiss but the twins had decided to wake up.

"I'll get them," Steve told her and gave her a quick kiss before he went to get the twins.

"Good morning my little sweeties."

Steve took the kids out and took them back to the bedroom. The 4 of them sat on the bed watching a bit of TV for a while. Steve loved his life at moments like this. He loved being at home with his family. He loved being a father. He never thought he would love it this much before he had kids. He loved the twins so much and he already loved the new little baby growing inside Catherine. He loved how his life turned out after Catherine had told him that she was pregnant with their first baby, which later turned out to be babies. He loved Catherine so much. Work was great but there was nothing like coming home to your family at the end of the day and seeing those two little babies walk up to you. Seeing a smile on their little faces was just priceless.

"Alright, who wants some breakfast?" Steve asked.

"Me!" The kids yelled.

Steve picked the twins up and carried them downstairs giving Catherine time to come out of bed without worrying about the twins. Steve put the kids in their high chairs and got breakfast ready for them. He each gave them a bowl of fruit and a glass of milk.

The kids were happily eating when Catherine came down. Steve gave her a bowl of fruit as well and some tea. The 4 of them at breakfast before Steve took the kids upstairs to get them dressed. He took them back downstairs and went to get dressed himself. The kids were playing when they came back down. Steve went to do some household chores. Catherine still wanted to do some things herself but Steve wasn't having any of it. He did most of the work around the house now. He was doing the laundry when he heard a cry coming out of the living room. Steve rushed to the living room.

"What happened?" Steve asked as Catherine moved down to grab Kailani but Steve stopped her and he picked Kailani up.

"Kye hit her."

"Shhh, it's okay sweetie," Steve tried to comfort Kailani. "Here honey you take Kailani, I'll take Kye."

Steve handed Kailani to Catherine and crouched down in front of Kye.

"Kye, look at daddy please." Kye looked up to Steve. "We don't hit anyone. It's not nice. You've hurt your sister. Please give your sister a kiss to say you're sorry."

Steve took Kye over to Kailani and Kye gave her a kiss.

"That's better. No more hitting okay."

"Sowy," Kye spoke.

Steve put Kye back on the ground and he went back to playing. Kailani had calmed down. Catherine put her back on the ground as well and she went back to playing too. Steve went back to his chores.

…..

Catherine was now 34 weeks pregnant. Everything was ready for the baby's arrival. Catherine had gone on maternity leave this week.

"How's Catherine doing?" Danny asked Steve as they drove to the crime scene.

"She's doing fine, ready to have the baby."

"How many more weeks?"

"6 weeks till her due date but she thinks it'll be here earlier."

"Women usually feel stuff like that."

"I don't really care when the baby gets here. Just as long as the baby and Catherine are healthy. But I know it's hard on Catherine so I hope it's soon."

"Yes, that's the most important thing. You've got a name picked out already?"

"Yes we have."

"Good. Everything ready at home?"

"Yes everything is ready for the baby."

"That's good."

"I wonder how the twins will react to the new baby."

"I'm sure they'll be fine."

"Yeah, they are starting to try stuff out."

"They're kids Steve, of course they do that. Grace did too, even when she was just 1 year old."

"A while ago Kye even hit Kailani cus he wanted to have the toy she had."

"That's kids Steve. Trust me, I've been to a few play dates with Grace and the kids didn't always get along. They just need to learn that they can't do that."

"Yeah I know. It'll just be harder to keep an eye on them with the new baby."

"You'll be fine, and if you ever need me help….."

"Thanks Danny."

Steve and Danny arrived at the crime scene and started working on the case.

Catherine was at home with Lauren and the twins. Since Catherine was now on maternity leave Lauren was there every day to help Catherine with the twins. Catherine appreciated the help, she didn't have the strength to do much around the house and picking the twins up was getting harder too.

"You excited about seeing the new baby?" Lauren asked as the twins were down for their afternoon nap.

"Yes I am. I can't wait to see our little baby."

"Yeah I bet. And don't worry about the twins, I've got them."

"Thanks. Steve and I are really happy that you're watching the kids. The kids really love you and I can see that you love them too."

"That means a lot to me and yes I love them. They are two sweethearts, well most of the time."

"Yes most of the time they are. I just hope they'll be okay with the new baby here."

"I'm sure they will. It'll be a little getting used to for them I'm sure. But I think they'll be fine."

"I hope so."

Since they kids were upstairs asleep Catherine lay down on the couch for a while to get some rest. Lauren went to get some household work done.

Just before 6pm Steve came back home.

"Hey honey," he greeted Catherine.

"Hey baby," Catherine greeted back and Steve kissed her.

"And hello my little baby." Steve gave Catherine's stomach a kiss too. "How was your day?"

"Good, quiet. Yours?"

"The same as always. Are the kids outside?"

"Yes they are."

"Hey guys," Steve called as he walked outside.

"Daddy!" Kye and Kailani squealed and then ran up, as fast as their little legs allowed, to Steve who had crouched down on the floor and waited for them.

"Hey my two little sweeties," Steve spoke as she hugged the twins. "Daddy missed you today." Steve got a kiss from both of them. "Daddy loves you too." He gave each of them a kiss too.

….

For Catherine the weeks couldn't go by fast enough. She had it with being pregnant. She hoped the baby would be here soon, she was more than ready. The baby kept Catherine up sometimes at night with her moving around and using Catherine as a football. She felt like she was huge. She hadn't seen her own feet for a while now and it looked to her as she got bigger by the day.

Catherine was now 37 weeks pregnant and she couldn't wait to have this baby. She just hoped Steve wouldn't be out on a case when she went into labor. Steve assured her that he would drop everything if she went into labor.

Catherine was at the point where she would start to do things to induce the labor if this baby wouldn't come out soon.

Catherine was still in bed that morning. Steve was up already and was downstairs with the kids. Catherine heard Lauren just arriving.

"Good morning," Lauren spoke as she walked into the kitchen. The kids' faces lid up as they saw Lauren.

"Hey Lauren."

"Hey you two," Lauren said hello to the twins. "Catherine still upstairs?"

"Yeah she is, she didn't sleep well last night, the baby was very active."

"I'll keep an eye on here today."

"Thanks."

Catherine lay upstairs in bed when she suddenly felt something wet between her legs.

"Steve!" Catherine yelled downstairs.

Steve rushed up the stairs as he heard Catherine shouting.

"What's the matter honey?"

"My water just broke."
