Chapter 13: My Brother's keeper

1Month later...

It's 11 pm and Mariella is cleaning the floor In her bar, she's closing the bar today earlier. Antonio was spending some time with Nadia. Mariella sighs and takes some chairs from the ground, and puts them on the tables. She hears someone say behind her:"Still cleaning Mari, aren't you tired?" Mariella smiles and turns around, she sees Damon leaning against the wall. He smiles and says:"Let me help you." Mariella noddes and they both clean the bar after 10minutes. After awhile they're both sitting on the couch. Damon pours 2glasses full of Bourbon, He gives a glass to Mariella. She smiles and says:"Did you finish your business In New York?"

Damon noddes and says:"Yeah, I finished everything." Mariella sighs and says:"Finally, I was lonely without you." Damon smiles and says:"I haven't been here only for a week. And you already miss me?" Mariella noddes and says:"Iff you just leave me for a second, I already miss you then." Damon kisses Mariella on her forehead and says:"You're a sweet girl." Mariella rolls her eyes and drinks her glass at once. She stands up and turns the radio on, 'Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5' was playing.

Mariella dances and says:"Come on Damon, let's dance." Damon grins and stands up, He stands beside her with vampspeed. Mariella grins and says:"I hope you can dance?" Damon lifts an eyebrow and says:"I Have moves you have never seen before." Mariella chuckles, Damon smiles and starts dancing with her. They kept dancing for helf an hour, they both then sit on the couch and Mariella says:"Damon." He looks at her and says:"Yes Mari." Mariella smiles and says:"Nevermind." Damon stops dancing and says:"What's bothering you Mari?" Mariella sighs and says:"I've just been thinking alot these days." Damon noddes and says:"Thinking about what?" Mariella looks at Damon and says:"About us, I'm afraid I might lose you."

Damon puts his hand on Mariella's cheek and says:"Why do you think that you might lose me? I will always stay with you, It's been a month now since we started dating." Mariella sighs and says:"I know that Damon, But you're still in love with Elena." Damon goes with his hand through his hair and says:"I'm not sure iff I'm still in love with her, cause the only person I think of these days is you." A tear falls down Mariella's cheek, she hugs Damon and says:"Just forget what I said." Damon hugs he back and pats her gently on her head. Mariella hugs Damon tight, He smiles and plants a kiss on her head. Mariella looks at Damon and says:"God, I love you more then anyone." Damon smiles and says:"I love you too, I've been waiting awhile to say this."

Mariella leans forward and kisses Damon, he kisses her back. Damon puts his arm around her waist and pulls her against him. Mariella breaks their kiss when she hears Damon's ringtone going off. Damon sighs and grabs his cell phone from his back pocket. He looks at the caller ID and sees that Stefan is calling him. Damon answers the call:

Damon-"Wat do you want Stefan?"

Stefan-"We have a big problem Damon, I need you to come home right now."

Damon-"What happened?"

Stefan-"Come and bring Mariella with you."

Damon-"Ok, I'll be there in a few minutes."

Stefan-"See you."

Damon ends the call and looks at Mariella, she was staring at him the whole time. Damon grabs her hand and says:"Let's go see what Stefan wants to show us." Mariella noddes and they both use their vampspeed to go, to the Salvatore mansion. When they arrive there, Stefan opns the door and looks at them with a sad look on his face. Mariella grabs Stefan's hand and says:"What's wrong Stefan?" Stefan sighs and walks to the livingroom, he looks towards the couch. Mariella also looks at the couch, she sees Antonio laying there with a pale face. Mariella uses her vampspeed to stand beside him, she puts her hand on his forehead and says:"Antonio, I'm here." Stefan looks at Damon and says:"A werewolve bit him, I found him laying on the ground in the woods. W can do nothing to help him."

A few tears fall down Mariella's cheek, she wipes them away with her hand and says:"I'm going to call a friend of mine." She then leaves the livingroom, Damon stands beside Antonio and says:"Antonio open your eyes, i want to ask you something." Antonio coughs a few times and tries to open his eyes, he looks at Damon and says:"Where is Mariella?" Damon sighs and says:"She's talking on the phone, she'll be back in a second." Stefan leans against the wall and says to Antonio:"How do you feel?" Antonio coughs again and says:"My head hurts alot and I have problems breathing. And I'm sweating alot, It's like my body is on fire."

Damon sits on a couch and says:"Can you tell me who bit you?" Antonio shakes his head and says:"I don't know that person, the only thing I know is that it was a guy who bit me." Damon pours a glass full of Bourbon, Mariella stands beside Damon with vamspeed. She grabs his glass fromhis hand and drinks it at once. Damon looks at Mariella and says:"Any luck?" Mariella looks at the empty glass, she's holding in her hand and says:"I talked to a friend of mine in Frnace, he told me to find a guy named Niklaus. He can help me, but I need to find him in Maximum 48hours. Or else it will be too late to save Antonio." Mariella sits on the ground near Antonio, she puts her hand on his cheek. Antonio looks at Mariella and says:"Don't cry, you look ugly when you cry."

teears keep flwoing down Mariella's cheek, she looks at her brother and says:'I will save you no matter what I have to do." Antonio smiles and coughs again, Mariella kisses him on his forehead. She then stands up, Antonio grabs her hand and says:"Mia sorella forte." Mariella smiles and says"Idioto solo riposo." Antonio smiles and Mariella runs with vampspeed to Damon's room. She grabs a bag and puts tome of her clothes in it. Damon was looking at Mariella, she was packing some of her stuff like crazy. He sighs and says:"Iff you're going to search for thet guy Niklaus, I'm going with you." Mariella puts her black leather jacket on and grabs her bag from Damon's bed.

She then walks towards Damon and says:"I want you stay here with my brother." Damon shakes his head and says:"No way, am I going to let you go look for a guy you don't even know. What Iff he's a psychopath?" Mariella smiles and says:"You're worrying about me, That makes me happy." Damon sighs and says:"Mariella please I have to go with you." Mariella kisses Damon on his lips and says:"Listen Damon, I know Stefan and the others will take care of my brother. But I'm at ease when I see that you're going to stay with him." Damon sighs and says:"Then take Stefan with you." Mariella shakes her head and says:"I'm going alone, don't worry I've been taking care of myself for years now."

Damon sighs and says:"I give up, You can go alone. But Iff I call you once and you don't pick up your phone. I will let Bonnie do a locaters spell to find you." Mariella noddes and says:"Fine with me." Damon smiles and they both walk down the stairs. They see Stefan talking to someone, Mariella smiles when she sees Nadia putting a wet towel on Antonio's forehead. Nadia looks sad at Mariella and says:"You can save him right, I don't want to lose my father after I finally found him." Mariella sighs and says:"Don't worry Nadia, I'll do anything to save him." Nadia noddes and Mariella looks at Stefan, she says:"I'm going to look for thet guy who can save Antonio. And I'm going alone." Stefan looks at his brother, Damon sighs and says:"I know, I have to go with her. But she doesn't want to."

Stefan sighs and says:"Take care of yourself, Iff there is something call Damon or me Immediately." Mariella noddes and walks towards the door, Damon pulls her towards him. He kisses her passionately and says:"Stay away from danger, and remember I will come save you iff something happens." Mariella sighs and kisses Damon again, he kisses her back. She then leaves the Salvatore mansion, Mariella looks one last time at Damon and then she runs away with vampspees. Damon sighs again and enters the house, he sees Nadia leaning on the couch and sleeping. She was holding Antonio's hand, Stefan gives Damon a glass full of Bourbon. Damon smiles and drinks it at once, Stefan sits on the couch and looks at Antonio.

The next day...

Mariella opens her eyes and sees that she's not at home, she then remembers that she's in New Orleans. Mariella stretches out like a cat and walks towards the bathroom to take a shower. After finishing taking a shower, Mariella puts some clean clothes on. A black skinny pants, a white tanktop and her black leather jacket. She then wears her Leather boots, Mariella grabs a bloodbag from her bag. She drinks it fast and leaves the hotel with vampspeed. Mariella stops running when she sees a small shop. She enters the shop and sees that it's filled with herbs, feathers and other healing stuff. A women looks at Mariella and says:"Can I help you?" Mariella smiles and says:"I'm looking for someone called Niklaus." The women sighs and says:"He lives here in that Big house on the end of the street."

Mariell smiles and says:"Thank you for your help." The women sighs again and says:"Be careful, that guy has a serious temper." Mariella noddes and leaves the shop. She then uses her vampspeed to stand before the door of Niklaus's house. Mariella was nervous, she breaths out and knocks on the door. A blonde girl the same age as Mariella opens the door. She sighs and shouts with a Brittish accent:"Kol, I told you to not bring any women home." Mariella hears someone laughing in the background, The blonde girl looks at Mariella and says:"Go home, and don't talk to Kol iff you see him." Mariella sighs and says:"Who's Kol?" The blonde girl lifts an eyebrow and says:"How come I can't compel you?" Mariella chuckles and says:"A vampire can't compel another vampire."

The blond girl shakes her head and says:"That's not true, I'm an original vampire. I can compel any normal vampire." Mariella looks surprised and sees a guy with blond- brown messy hair looking at the blonde gril. He smiles and says:"Rebekah sister, Don't start compelling anyone you see." He then looks at Mariella and says:"Are you Mariella Bonalli? Friend of Dominique Bertrand?" Mariella noddes and says:"Yes that's me, So you are Niklaus." Niklaus smiles and his dimples are showing, he then says:"Call me Klaus, and come in." Mariella enters the house, Rebekah rolls her eyes and walks up the stairs. Mariella follows Klaus to their livingroom, she sits on the couch and says:"I need your help, My brother doesn't have much time left."

Klaus sighs and says:"Dominique send you here, telling you that I can save your brother. Am I right?" Mariella noddes and says:"Please save my brother." Klaus smiles and says:'You care alot about your brother, I will help you. But Iff I help you, you also need to help me." Mariella stands up from the couch and says:"I will do anything as long as you help me." Klaus looks at Mariella and says:"Ok, I will help you. You'll then go give your brother the cure and then come back to help me with something." Mariella noddes and says:"Off course, I'm keeping my word Klaus." Klaus stands up and grabs a small bottle from a drawer. He then bites in His arm and let's his blood drip inside the bottle.

Mariella looks at him with her eyes wide open, Klaus grins when he sees the way she's looking at him. He then closes the bottle and gives it to Mariella, she looks at Klaus in disbelief and says:"Your blood is the cure?" klaus noddes and Mariella says:"Thank you so much, I will stick to my word. Once I let my brother drink this, I will come back to help you." Klaus walks with Mariella towards the front door, he smiles and says:"No, Thank you for coming." Mariella noddes and Klaus says:"Just a question, how come my sister couldn't compel you? Are you a hybrid?" Mariella looks confused and says:"Hybrid? What's that?" Klaus chuckles and says:"Nevermind, I'll explain it when you come back." Mariella smiles and says:"See you later Klaus." Klaus smiles and Mariella uses her vampspeed to get back to The Salvatore mansion.

A few hours later...

Mariella enters the Salvatore mansion, She walks fast towards Antonio. She says:"Drink this and you'll feel better Antonio." Antonio does as Mariella says, he drinks the whole bottle at once. Mariella sighs and says:"Finally I thought I won't make it." Antonio smiles and says:" What do I have to do now?" Mariella smiles and says:"Just sleep a little bit, I have something to do." Antonio noddes and lays back, Mariella sees Damon sleeping on the couch. She smiles and grabs a bottle of Bourbon, and drinks straight from the bottle. She then vanishes in thin air, Damon opens his eyes and sees That Antonio is still sleeping. He shakes his head and go's to sleep further. Meanwhile Mariella was driving back to New Orleans. She driving while drinking from a bloodbag.
