Chapter 4

The First Route, Rout, Root, Whatever

I leave the house and feel the wind blow against my face and I smell the crisp night air.

I bend down with rose by my side as I get ready to sprint, I release the built up energy and!

I start fast walking sideways like a crab to save time while saying the only appropriate thing, "WOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOP!"

As I try to leave town I am interuppted AGAIN by plot relevance in the form of Professor Derpdederr.

"Wait one second!" He yells nasally at me and wasting everybodies time.

"What!" I yell back in annoyance.

"I almost completely forgot about this...Here, I'll give you my phone number so that I'm not alone forever."

I decide to start doing the right thing and strike up a conversation with my travel partner "What do you think of that guy anyway Rose?" I asked Rose with genuine interest.

She jumps for a second and chortles in a wierd innocent little boy chortle for a second and says "Sorry, I haven't really gotten used to my name yet. But on a more relevent note, he isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box but he's a nice enough guy. I mean if he managed to raise me without breaking all my bones I'd say he's pretty capable."

"Alright then, cool to have your opinion on this stuff really. But either way, we will now begin our fantastical journey into the world, of POKEMON!" I triumphantly yell as I take my first steps onto Route 29.

Rose immediatly locks up at the sight of the tall bushy grass and says with a nervousness in her voice " D-do we really n-need to go through there?"

"Well of course we do, it's the only way through! Is there something wrong Rose? I'll need to know since we'll be seeing this stuff all the time and I don't need you shaking in your chlorophyll." I ask with a comforting yet playful tone in my voice.

"N-no it's okay, I can handle it, just try to take the shortest path please?" She responds with a look of forced determination.

I go through the grass and make it to the first safe zone without any problems and then proceeded through the next one with not much trouble.

"See Rose it's just grass, it can't hurt you unless some wild pokemon show up and for the most part they are probably sleeping." I say as I comfort Rose with a rub on the head.

I climb up a short hill and avoid the youngster meandering about and enter the next herd of grasses when OHGODSUDDENLYHOOTHOOTS!

"Can you handle this Rose?" I ask with stern determination.

I hear a weird laughing noise coming from Rose as she turns around and says in a Mexican accent "Rose? Who is this Rose you speak of, I am Rosé and I need no comfort from another man!"

I notice three things in that moment.

One, She now sounds like a he.

Two, He stole an itty bitty sombrero from a sleeping traveler when the fight started.

And three, Out of all the starter pokemon I just HAD to get the one with Multiple Personality disorder that is triggered by battles.

"Well it seems that I'm fighting whether I like it or not so lets do this thing!" I state with proud honor.

"Use tackle Rosé!" I command with conviction.

"No-one commands Rosé! Only Rosé commands Rosé! Rosé, use only tackle for the whole battle!" Rosé retorted in a confusing flurry of third person speaking.

As Rosé said he would he only used tackle and after three tries the opposing Hoothoot went down and Rosé shouted his victory to the heavens with a species name screech with his own Mexican flair, "Chicorito!"

Things went on like that for a while, we fought another Hoothoot, I tried in vain to squeeze a tree to death and steel it's minty goodness, and then we entered the best place in all of Johto.

Cherrygrove City.

Will Goomba be able to fully experience Cherrygrove city without a Mexican Chicorito causing problems? Will the Rose we slightly know ever come back? Will I ever manage to get these out when I say I will? All this and more on the next chapter of...

GOOMBA'S POKEMON ADVENTURE!

So yeah we finally had our first fight and I got to get one of the many ideas for this story out of my head. I think this was a productive chapter and I hope you come back for more! So until then Goomba OUT!
