Chapter 19: On Our Way
Knock Knock Knock
The door swung open and revealed an older blonde.
"Hi Mom" said Quinn.
"Hi Quinnie! Its nice for you to finally visit me a day after you arrived" said Judy as she sat down in one of the chairs on their porch. Quinn gasped at her mother's greeting.
"How did you find out I arrived yesterday?" asked Quinn.
"I was walking home from a friend's house when I bumped into Brittany and Rachel. They told me that you came back with them. Care to explain where you were?" asked Judy.
"I was at Santana's house" said Quinn.
"Why were you there instead of here?" asked Judy as she eyed Santana.
"Why do you care so much?" asked Quinn.
"Because the daughter I havent seen in months decides to spend time with another friend's family instead of her own" said Judy.
"But I'm not a little kid anymore. I can do whatever I want. You cant tell me what to do" said Quinn.
"Just answer the question" said Judy.
"I was at Santana's house because Kurt dropped me off there. Maribel invited us in and we had dinner. I dont see whats wrong with having dinner with my girlfriend and her parents" slipped Quinn.
Judy raised her eyebrows at what Quinn said.
"Your girlfriend?" asked Judy.
"Uh..yeah. Santana is my girlfriend" said Quinn.
"Wow. That explains everything. How come you didnt tell me earlier?" asked Judy.
"Wait. What? You're not mad?" asked Quinn.
"Why would I be mad?" asked Judy.
"I dont know. With all the religion stuff you believe in..." said Quinn Judy cut her off.
"I dont care about all that. If you're happy, then Im happy for you" said Judy. "And you" she pointed at Santana. "Make sure you take care of Quinnie"
"Mom. Stop trying to scare her" said Quinn.
"Dont worry Ms. Fabray. I will" said Santana. Quinn got a text from Rachel asking if they were available for lunch at breadsticks.
"Good. I was on my way to pick up some groceries. Do you guys want to come?" asked Judy.
"No thanks mom. We have a lunch gathering with the other glee people at Breadsticks" said Quinn.
"How about I drive you guys there" offered Judy.
"I guess. It wont be so bad" said Quinn. They got in the car and headed towards Breadsticks. It was all the way across town so it would be a while until they get there. Santana and Quinn sat in the backseat while Judy drove.
Quinn replied to Rachel's text, "We're on our way"
"So, how are you doing in New Haven Quinnie?" asked Judy.
"Its okay so far. The classes are hard but Im passing. And since I started early, I have one more year to go before I graduate" said Quinn.
"Thats good. How about you Santana? How is New York?" asked Judy.
"New York is good. I got a job at a small restaurant and Im taking some dance classes at NYADA" said Santana.
"Wow, you like to dance?" asked Judy.
"Yeah. I used to take classes when I was little" said Santana.
"As long as you're doing something you enjoy, then you should be fine" said Judy as they stopped at a red light. They looked around and noticed that they were halfway there.
"How often do you guys visit each other?" asked Judy.
"Not that often. Only when I have a short break from school or a weekend once a month. Its hard but we constantly text and call each other" said Quinn.
"Who visits who" asked Judy.
"Quinn usually comes to New York unexpectedly" said Santana.
"Because I know Santana is too much of a lazy butt to come to New Haven" said Quinn. Santana pouted but was quickly replaced by a smile when Quinn pecked her cheek.
Judy just watched the two from her rear-view mirror. She could clearly see that the two were happy together.
The light turned green and Judy pressed on the gas. Santana heard a honk and looked to her right.
Then everything went black.
