I just reread this and I thought I should add more and cuz I REALLY don't wanna do summer HW so here we gooooo :)
Marissa's POV-
My eyes fluttered open and an upbeat song played loudly. My body swayed to the beat as my mind got into the mood to just dance away. I felt two hands grab my waist and when I turned around, I saw Damon's piercing blue eyes look seductively into mine. We swayed together and when he twirled me, I found myself in someone else's arms.
Klaus.
"Hello, love." he said, smirking as his adorable dimples appeared on his angelic face, with light stubble growing on it. I reached up to feel the rough hair growing on his face. He took my hands and danced with me...
Suddenly, the music grew louder, and this time a familiar voice spoke my name.
"Marissa? Marissa! It's time to wake up..." Elena said, unsure of how to wake me from my deep slumber as the song played loudly from the irritating alarm clock on the bedside.
"Hmmm" I mumbled. "I'm up. Coming, just a minute." Then I proceeded to roll over. And went back to try to find myself on that dancefloor, with two VERY attractive guys waiting for me.
"Marissa." a new, velvety and deeper voice spoke. "Sleeping beauty. Time to wake up. For real this time."
I opened my eyes and found two eyes looking back at me. They gorgeous light blue made me shudder in delight. Then I realized they were just a foot away. Crap. Morning breath. Brush, Marissa, BRUSH! NO unattractive smells in the presence of hotties! Cmon!
I leaped out of the bed, feeling self-conscious of my breath. "Bathroom?" I asked.
"Follow me, madam." Damon said, smirking even more, as if he knew exactly how I felt. Boys. I thought, rolling my eyes.
"OK thanks!" I said. He stayed there in the doorway, watching me. "You can go now. I'm not gonna like strip in front of you or anything, show's over."
"Damn it. Not even a little peek?" he replied.
"Um, no. Please. Get out." I said, flustered.
"Damon!" another familiar voice yelled out. Stefan. I suddenly looked around, realizing where I was.
"Wait, where am I?" I asked, suddenly confused about what had happened the previous night. "Why am I not at home? What happened last night?"
"Don't worry, you clothes stayed on and you legs stayed shut. The whole night. Although I can't say the same about the feisty little mouth of yours." Damon said, amused.
"Ok. Go away please. ELENAA!" I called out. Jesus. What was I even doing here? For god's sake, I'm 17 years old and I just moved here and now I'm already in some random stranger's house. I mean, they could all be serial killing rapists for all I knew!
"Yea?" Elena said, running down to me, as I stuffed my toothbrush in my mouth.
"What's going on? All I remember is dancing at the Grill, coming home and sleeping. GOD my mom must be so worried, I have to call her!" I ranted, confused.
"Calm down, girl. I already told her you are here at the moment. It's all taken care of. Just get ready and then we will talk things over ok?" Elena said.
"Alright." I muttered and proceeded to get ready. I did so quickly since I really needed to get home. I was so confused, like time had suddenly disappeared from my memory. God, someone must of spiked my drink or something. I grabbed my jacket and headed out. I stormed out to the living room until I smelled the delicious scent of pancakes.
Food.
God, why is this house so inviting? Hotties all over the place, an amazingly large bathroom, delicious food, I mean what more could a girl want.
"Going somewhere?" Damon said, coming in front of me out of nowhere.
"Wow, how did you get here so fast?" I asked.
"Right, You're still to be kept in the dark. Oh, well. You would have been fun to hang around. You have spunk. Me likey." he replied, confusing me even more.
"Want some pancakes, Marissa?" Stefan said, with a spatula in his hand.
"You cook?" I asked. "Damn, hottie, manners, and chef."
"Just a few of my many talents." Stefan bragged.
"Not as many as mine though. Keep dreaming, brother." Damon taunted, inspecting his nails carelessly.
"Sure, why not. The pancakes smell delicious!" I said, smiling. We all sat down and ate- well all except for Damon who seemed to think he was too cool for breakfast.
"So what do you think of Mystic Falls so far?" Elena asked.
"Great actually. Other than the fact that I kind of ran off with a group of strangers and stayed overnight with two boys on my first night here-"
"Is that really a con? Most girls would be elated, my dear." Damon interrupted.
"-and really don't remember how I even got here." I finished, glaring at him. "You know, I actually have some dignity and morals."
"Psh, morals? Why bore yourself with such pedantic notions." Damon argued. I ignored his very reasonable plight.
"Well this has been fun, but I really do need to go home now so see you all later." I said, putting my plate in the sink and walked to the door.
"And how are you going to do that?" Damon said, running after me, trying to trap me in the house by covering the door.
"Like this." I said, opening the door and walking outside. "Damn it. How do I get home?"
"Here, I will drive you." Elena responded, rescuing me from Damon, also while glaring at him. Thank goodness for that chica, we need more people like that in life.
"Thanks." I said, as I got into the passenger seat of her car. "For everything, I really don't even know what happened. I'm sorry for intrusively ending up at your house."
"Don't even worry about it. This isn't really Mystic Falls, it's more of Crazy Falls." she replied. "Better get used to it." She said that meaningfully, as if it meant more than I thought it did.
"Thank goodness for Sammy then. My nest friend from Santa Marina was insane and literally went out looking for skeletons in peoples' closets. So at least I have experience." I said.
"That's good. AT least it's summer right now. Once school starts, it is literally impossible to deal with.. People.. and still stay on top of school work." Elena spoke, exasperated.
"I can imagine." I responded, understandingly. "Do you stay over at the Salvatore house often? "
"Sometimes. It's easier considering all the problems there are." she said.
"Problems? Honey with those two hunks walking around, you would think there would be more.. bliss!" I said, suggestively. "But tell me, who are you with? Cuz no sane girl lets those two slip through as just friends."
"Well I've only dated Stefan. He really helped me through a hard time. And now I'm trying to do the same for me. But, I don't know. He's changed now. I'm not sure I can live with him that way. He's hot and cold. I'm just so confused." Elena said.
"I have been feeling a lot of that myself. I would stay to stick with him though. He was there for you, you have to return the favor at the very least. And if you really love him, you would love him no matter what happens." I said, comfortingly. "But hey, so Damon is in the clear?"
She laughed. "Yes, I guess he is. But I would be careful with that one. He isn't what he seems."
"I know what you mean. It's his eyes. I just lose all thought in those blues." I replied, remembering my dream. Then I remembered Klaus. "What about Klaus? What's his story?"
"You could always just ask me, love. If you're that interested." a sexy British voice responded. I realized we were in my driveway and Klaus was peering through my window.
"Klaus." Elena said, with venom in her voice.
"What the hell are you doing here? Are you stalking me?" I said, alarmed.
"Do you want me to be stalking you?" Klaus asked with an eyebrow raised. I gave him a horrified look as he snickered. "Me dear, I was just taking a nice stroll around the love-ly neighborhood and decided to check in and see how you and the lovely Elena were doing."
"We are fine. And just about to go inside." Elena replied curtly. She took my by my arm and led me inside. Klaus followed. "Goodbye Klaus, nice seeing you too."
"Jeez. Don't tell me you dated him too!" I joked. Elena looked at me with confusion.
"NO, god no. He's a psycho. I would recommend staying away from him as far as you can stay." she pulled out her phone and texted someone on her cell.
"Marissa?" my mom called.
"Hey Mom! This is Elena, I stayed at.. her place last night. She's also gonna go to school with me."
"Lovely to meet you Elena!" my mom said, shaking her hand.
"Likewise! Marissa is going to fit right in here!" Elena assured my mother.
"Nice. Well, I'm glad you are liking this move so far." my mom said, yawning. "Well, go get ready, missy. You need to shower."
"Yeah. See ya Mom." I said, going upstairs. Elena followed. She looked out my window, as if to look for a stalker.
Klaus. Maybe he is as dangerous as Elena implied. She certainly seemed to think so.
"Looking for Klaus?" I asked, slightly worried about gang activity around my house. I did not want my family involved.
"Yeah. Well, I should probably get going then, Marissa. I will call you soon, ok?" she said, leaving my room.
"See ya Elena!" I replied as I walked into my bathroom.
(Hello, I am a time lapse line.)
I walked to the Salvatore house once again. From afar, it looked like an institution. Before I knocked, the door opened.
"Just can't stay away can you?" Damon said, with his smirk on.
"Oh, shut up." I snarked at him, walking in, pushing his chest as I passed.
"Ouch." he feigned.
"Hey there Marissa!" Caroline said. She gathered her purse as Elena and Bonnie walked downstairs. "Ready to shop till you drop?"
"Girl, I'm always ready for that!" I replied, getting back into my normal self.
"Caroline, I made another-" Stefan said, walking in what looked like a ginormous pencil. A stake? "Marissa? I wasn't aware you were coming." I now understood what Elena meant by hot and cold. Stefan was so nice before, and now he looked excessively annoyed.
"Stefan, we are going shopping, remember?" Caroline reminded him.
"Right. Shopping." he replied, twirling the stake.
"Is that a stake?" I asked.
"Well that or the world's largest toothpick. Take your pick." Damon sassed. Then. The doorbell rang. It was Klaus along with another older looking guy in a suit.
"Klaus. Elijah. Come to join us?" Damon said.
"Just came to discuss a few matters with you and- " Klaus looked me "your brother. Why hello again, love. Meeting twice in the same morning, what luck for me."
"Right. Well, shoo now. We have work to get done. Important. Fashion. Business." Caroline said, irritated.
"Shame. I really thought we would get to spend some time with this lovely lady my brother won't stop talking about." Elijah said, with his perfect English.
"Her?" Damon said, defensively.
"Um, Caroline? Let's go..." I said, clearly uncomfortable with this kind of attention. This seemed to be going very oddly. Mystic Falls really does seem like Crazy Falls, full of gangs and whatnot. My theory was that they were in different gangs. Klaus and his family. And then Stefan and Damon with the rest of the high schoolers I had befriended. "I call shotgun!"
(Time LAAAAPSE)
"Oooh, how does this one look?" Elena asked, putting a gorgeous blue dress up against her body.
"Eh, how about this one?" I said, handing her another one with a slightly different cut.
"Okay!" she said as I walked over to the shirts section. I wasn't really a dress type person.
"Well, I'm ready to go!" Bonnie said, grabbing her bag from the counter.
"I don't know, should I get this?" Elena asked, talking about the same dress from before.
"Well the color does look great on you." Caroline remarked.
"If you're gonna use it, then hell yea." I said, being practical.
"True. Well, the Miss Mystic Falls dance is coming up. I do need a new dress for that one." Elena said.
"What dance? Dance? Why didn't anyone tell me?" I asked.
"Oh, right. The Miss Mystic Falls dance is like tradition from way way back. It's too late to sign up for Miss Mystic Falls, but everyone goes to the dance with dates and stuff, it's really fancy and fun!" Caroline gushed.
"Sounds super fun! Guys, I think I need a dress though.." I replied.
"Yes, let's go. Hmmm. What color?" Caroline muttered.
"Either pink or purple. That would work wonders on her skin." Bonnie whispered. Elena looked through a rack of dresses until she found the perfect shade of purple with just the right amount of pink in it.
"YES! That is my dress!" I squealed.
"Perfect! Let's buy it go!" Caroline said, smiling at my enthusiasm. As we got back in the car, I carelessly put the paper bag carrying my dress by my feet. As I reached over to put on my seat belt, my finger got cut on the rough edges of my bag.
"Ow. I guess I just cut myself." I said. I heard a hiss come from beside me and before I could figure out what was happening, Caroline ran outside (faster than I thought was possible) and Elena followed her. Bonnie rushed to me and helped me put on a band aid. "What just happened?"
"Oh. Um, Caroline has a thing about blood. She just, had to get away." Bonnie tried to explain, although I could tell she was hiding something.
"Oh, I see." I responded, unconvinced. I recalled Caroline's face. I could see the veins under her eyes and her fierce face before she ran out. Then, I suddenly remembered the other blond girl from last night. She looked the same way as Caroline just now. I decided to keep this to myself though. "Hey, who was that other blond crazy chic from last night?"
"Rebekah? Oh, she is Klaus's sister. A huge pain in the ass.." Bonnie said.
"Wait, you remember about Rebekah?" Elena asked, as she entered the car.
"Um, yeah. She reminded me of Caroline for some reason just now." I said. "Never mind, I think I'm going crazy." Elena and Bonnie exchanged glances.
"Sorry about that! I'm back, so we can go home now." Caroline said, in her usual perky voice.
"Alrighty." I responded, with less enthusiasm. I had no idea what was happening, but I will find out. This time, Sammy isn't by my side, but I have been through enough with that girl to be able to handle this one on my own.
Hey Marissa! I miss you so much already :( Tell me how it's going in Mystic Falls. Sounds like a lot of adventure and fun!
XOXO,
Sammy
I checked my phone and saw this message. Oh, Sammy-cat. I miss ya.
Hey there girl! I was just thinking about you ;) I miss you too, chica. It is definitely different here, but I think there is definitely some of our usual digging I need to do. Well, I will talk to ya soon, kay hon?
Love,
M
"Who's that?" Caroline asked.
"Oh, just my best friend from back home. She's checking in to see how the move is going" I replied, feeling pangs of sadness from the separation with Sammy. I really am gonna miss that girl.
"Huh," Caroline said, not sure of how to respond.
"We have to tell her!" Elena whispered to Bonnie. "If not, she will figure it out and you know how that went when I found out!"
"Elena, we can't risk it for her! She just moved here, she needs time to adjust!" Bonnie replied, also in a whisper.
"What's going on?" I asked, knowing they were talking about me. "Tell me what?"
They all shushed.
"C'mon, I'm not an idiot." I said, irritated, "I know something is going on here, and I would rally appreciate it if you could just tell me."
"Told you!" Elena said.
"Okay, but later. Stefan should be there. He's always good at this stuff, always keeping the sanity." Caroline decided. I could tell she had a thing for Stefan going.
"Alright. So back to the boarding house?" I ask.
"I guess so.." Bonnie said, as if she felt sorry for me. Well, the truth can't be THAT bad. I mean, I'm pretty sure I got it anyways. They are in two separate gangs, and they are having some kind of a problem. See? Typical gang business. Suddenly, I heard a police siren from up ahead.
Caroline rolled down her window. "Mom?" she asked. "What's going on?"
"Oh hey, honey. Just found the body of a Council Member who went missing a few days ago." a woman with short hair replied.
"Oh, god!" Bonnie exclaimed.
"Cause of death?" Elena asked, worried.
"Animal attack." The sheriff responded, meaningfully. Right. We all knew it wasn't an animal. It was probably just the gangs. Well, gang fights don't need to be kept secret though, right? Or maybe these ones were just extra dangerous.
"Oh.. Well, we should get going then." Caroline said, pulling away from the curb as we rode off at a higher speed. "Elena, call Stefan and tell him we need to meet. With the Michaelsons."
"It could just be Damon, ya know." Bonnie muttered. My eyes widened. Blue eyed Damon? No... I knew he was strange, but he can't be a murderer!
"Bonnie! You know he has changed." Elena protested.
"Either way, we need to meet with them!" Caroline ordered.
"Right. Agreed." Elena said, as she began her phone call.
"Ok, so just to clear this up, you are all in a gang, right?" I asked, scared for my life. I had only heard sotries about young girls like myself who got included in gang business and couldn't get out. All the stories ended the same way, with the girl dying in some way or another.
To my surprise, the three of them laughed. "What? NO!" Caroline exclaimed.
"Ok, we really have to explain all this to her." Bonnie agreed.
"Explain what?" I asked, again.
"Don't worry, you will know soon enough." Elena assured me.
"Here we are. Hello again Salvatore Boarding House." Caroline said, cutting the engine. I followed the girls as we entered this seemingly mysterious house once again. I had to know the truth, and take matters into my own hands. There was no Sammy to tell me what to do this time. I have to get the bottom of this.
