AN: Hey guys. I was going through some previous comments when I came across a review from a guest that had some good questions that I completely forgot to answer previously so I just wanted to do that now real fast.
This is the question: Given all the people he's killed (over 100), it seems unusual that all his previous hits were bad people. Not an innocent one in the bunch? Really? Unless Naruto's organization wasn't intentionally targeting bad people, but it just so happens that only bad people tend to get contracts taken out on them. (And Sasuke, for whatever reason, is a special case.)
This is the answer: When I said that he killed over 100 people, I didn't just mean that those were his targets. He's also taken out several other assassins and guards that got in his way. There is a chance that some of them may have been innocent, but when they attack him, he has to defend himself. As for the organization, they do not only take assassinations for bad people, that's just Naruto, but the bad people are the ones who generally have better security and more/stronger guards so they need a better assassin, which is Naruto. He just so happened to be saddled with the worst of them, so he's never had to worry about killing an innocent. Sasuke is a special case in that he's the first of Naruto's targets that has been bad.
I hope this answers any questions you guys had, but if you have any more please feel free to ask me.
Sasuke frowned as he watched Naruto move away from him. That much blood usually made people concerned and always made them at least want to get it bandaged as soon as possible, but Naruto acted like it was an everyday occurrence. Like it was nothing. Just what had his previous masters done to him?
"You know he's going to be targeted right?" Gaara spoke as he walked up behind Sasuke. Sasuke didn't know Gaara all that well as he was the long lost son of one of the business men that his father used to work with, but he knew that whatever life he lead before that was bad enough that the family wouldn't let anyone know. They wouldn't even let him out of their sight, and, after that display, Sasuke can't really blame them.
"If you hurt him-" Sasuke began, but Gaara interrupted him.
"I'm not the one that you need to worry about," he said. "You need to find his family."
"His family?" Sasuke asked, but Gaara was already walking away so he would not get his answer from him. He would have to ask Naruto about it later.
Usually Sasuke wouldn't heed the words of a man who just injured one of his own, but something was already off about Naruto and that just made him more and more suspicious.
Naruto quickly cleaned his hand up, but by the time he was able to return to the ballroom, Sasuke had already decided that he wanted this stupid party to end. He couldn't exactly kick everyone out, though, so he just stood in the corner looking very unhappy until little by little everyone took the hint and made their goodbyes before taking off into the night.
"It's not nice to kick your guests out," Naruto grinned when he made it back to his master. There were only a few families left and they only remained because they were finishing up conversations with each other.
"Are you going to tell me what's going on?" Sasuke scowled.
"I told you already," Naruto shrugged. "There's nothing going on."
"I talked to your old friend," Sasuke changed the subject, knowing that he wasn't going to get anything from Naruto on the other topic.
"Yea?" Naruto raised a brow.
"He said something about your family."
Naruto froze. That was one thing that they never talked about. When they were young, they might have talked about possibly having a mother of a father, but if they were caught doing so they were punished severely. Naruto was glad that Gaara found his family, but he had never harbored any hope of finding his own. "My family is dead."
"Your friend doesn't seem to think so," Sasuke pointed out.
"He's wrong," Naruto clenched his fists. He wanted to walk away and go hit something, but that would require leaving Sasuke's side, which wasn't part of his job description. Besides, he should really be capable of keeping himself in check.
Sasuke nodded, but he wasn't going to let this drop. Apparently there was a lot that he wanted to figure out about Naruto that the other was keeping a secret from him and it didn't really sit well with him. Something about Naruto made him want to trust him, but it was hard when Naruto kept so many secrets about his life. Not to mention his suspiciously quick and simple destruction of the man that had attacked him in the garden some time ago. Naruto just wasn't adding up correctly.
"Sasuke!" Sakura called out as she sauntered up to him in a way that was supposed to be sexy, but really didn't look that way at all. "We're going to leave now."
"Good for you," Sasuke said distractedly. He didn't want to be bothered by her right now, or at any time for that matter, because he was too busy thinking about Naruto who was now avoiding his gaze.
Sakura pouted when Sasuke didn't look immediately at her. She wanted his attention and she wanted it now, but that ugly servant was getting in her way and distracting Sasuke. She looked around to see that her parents had left the room, probably to wait for the carriage outside while she talked to her Sasuke, and then she looked back at her target. One more glance at Sasuke told her that he was sufficiently distracted enough that he wouldn't see her move so she quickly walked over to the servant and slapped him as hard as she could.
Naruto's head jerked to the side. He wasn't expecting to be hit. For a moment, he thought it might have been Sasuke, he had finally started believing that maybe just maybe Sasuke wouldn't physically abuse him like the other masters did and it hurt him to think it, but then he looked up and saw Sakura standing before him with tears in her eyes.
Sasuke balled his fists the moment he saw what Sakura did. He wanted more than anything to punch her back right at that moment because it was quite obvious by Naruto's shocked expression that he wasn't going to do anything about it, but he knew that no respectable man would hit a girl like that. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"He attacked me Sasuke," Sakura cried out as she pointed an accusing finger at Naruto.
"What?" Sasuke was shocked now. This was a first even for Sakura.
"Earlier," she cried. "He grabbed me and if I didn't fight him off he would have raped me."
Naruto just stared on confusedly. This girl really was determined to have Sasuke as her own no matter what she had to do to get that. Unfortunately, she definitely chose the wrong way to do it. Even if there had been any others in the room to believe her ridiculous, which there weren't as everyone else had already left, Sasuke was the one person who definitely wouldn't believe that of his own servants. At least not Naruto and Iruka, he didn't know any of his other servants well enough to pass judgment on them.
"Sakura," Sasuke growled.
"Yes?" Sakura sniffled with her big, watery eyes pointed at Sasuke in an attempt to win his favor.
"Get out." Sakura backed up slightly and her façade slipped from her face in her shock. "And if you ever lay a hand on any of my servants ever again I will not be so lenient."
"You don't understand, Sasuke!" Sakura cried out, trying to continue her stupid lie. "It's him that you should be scolding. He touched me."
"I don't believe that for a moment," Sasuke growled. "Now get out."
Sakura's eyes teared up as she ran from the room, leaving only the parting words of "I hate you!" towards Naruto and a mumbled promise of "I'll get rid of you," that neither of the other occupants heard.
"Are you okay Naruto?" Sasuke asked. He reached out to inspect Naruto's cheek, but decided not to when he realized how intimate the touch would be and just let his hand fall back to his side.
"That girl hits hard," Naruto grinned as he rubbed at the red mark forming on his cheek. There was one cut where metal had met skin but it wasn't deep enough that it needed to be worried about. "I wish she hadn't hit me with her ring, though."
