-Kari's Hospital room,late in the evening-
Kari sat up alone, staring out in to the dark alone with her thoughts, as the last of her family and friends headed home for the night. As another week passed,she was slowly starting to remember things and those memories came the feelings. Betrayal and anger were at the forefront of her mind.
"I don't know why they bother,they were so quick to write me off before..."She muttered to herself, forehead creased in her pondering.
"what's to stop them from doing it again,from leaving me when I need them most?" She contused, making herself queasy with uncertainty and ache in anger.
She sat and stewed, as the moon light filtered into the room, bring with it ,a soft glow.
"But they do care."She whispered out to simmering lights,Axel's face drifting to her mind's eye.
"Do they?" came a voice from the door. Looking towards the the voice, Kari was met with the gaze of a handsome grayish/green eyed intern.
Collins entered the room,taking her chart and looking over it.
"They have to, don't they?" She answered with a frown "They're my family."
"So that means they care..." He replied,putting the chart down."Just because you share blood,doesn't mean they care." he finished bitterly, taking a seat next to her bed.
Kari looked away, tears misting her eyes. Knowing he had a point. She was more trouble then her brother. Her father had not been pleased,when he saw all the things she had bought, while skipping school. Her mother, wracked with worried, was disappointed in her for failing to brake up with Brody for so long or tell anyone what was happening. But for the time being,her parents agreed to hold off on lecturing her.
"But their all fools, for not seeing how brilliant you are. For how willing you were to sacrifice your safety for theirs." He spoke softly, as he took her hand. Kari's eyes drifted to the joined hands then to his face.
"You mean it?" She asked, almost in a trance,as she looked into his eyes.
"Of course,I barely know you and I can see how amazing you are."His head inched closer to the young girl's,a blush spreading across her face.
"What would you say, if I asked you to come away with me?" He asked, his mouth ghosting across her cheeks.
"I care,Because of who you are, not because of force"
His hand trailing up her arm,cupping her face. She knew,she should push him away, call for a nurse and report him. His lips, mere inches from eyes locked on his,when she thought ,she saw flames dancing in his gaze.
"You do?"her head fogged,heart hammering as a pressure was felt against her was there for merely a moment.
"Of course. You get out tomorrow, but if you'd like, We could leave tonight. Be gone before morning, your family wouldn't be able to burden you, hold you back from your greatness, if you were with me." Collins Spoke passionately , bring his mouth back to hers.
Kari battled with herself,as their mouths met and hands wondered. What he offered sound so nice. He didn't know her before all her troubles started. She could have a fresh start and her family and the covens could be free of their embarrassing,troubling girl. But something was wrong about it all, she tried to fight off the fog taking over her mind.
"Say yes.." a voiced sound threw out the fogged mind,"Be free of everyday burdens." It continued, the fog thicken, its hold tightening on her.
unbenounced to her, Collins eyes, bled black, as he forced the fog and words into parted, she whispered out,
"Yes." her eyes clouded over and her voiced breathy. "Take me away...Chase."
Chase smiled at the bewitched girl, the fog had won.
"Of course ,dear." His eyes flashing and black ,once more and in a poof, Miss Danvers and him were gone.
-Kari's Hospital room,Early morning-
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN,MY DAUGHTER IS MISSING!" Caleb bellowed, his sobbing wife locked in the arms of his shaking son.
"I-i-I'm sss-sorry sir, we-we-were not s-ss-ure, what hap-ppen-eed." Stuttered a nurse, clearly frighten by the enraged man.
"YOU DON'T KNOW, I LEFT MY ONLY DAUGHTER IN YOUR CARE AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE SHE WENT AND IF IT WAS EVEN WILLINGLY!" Caleb paced, his hands clenched tight at his side, as a officer came in.
"Please sir,I understand your upset,but we believe your daughter left willingly with an intern."He informed the family.
"WHAT!?" Cried Sarah, racing to her husband as he dropped to his knees.
"You've got to be wrong, she wouldn't do that." Theo exclaimed,locked in place as he watched his parents breaking.
The officer shook his head sadly,
"I'm sorry to say it is. She was seen on video leaving the parking lot with a..." The officer look down at the chart he was holding." a Mr. Collins Pope. he was a 2nd year intern. We have a bolo out on them both."
"Please, you've got to find isn't in her right mind. Please, bring me my daughter back." Pleaded Sarah as she help Caleb to a near by chair.
"We will do our best,ma'am." the officer said as he the nurse excused themselves,to give the family a moment.
They fell silent for what seemed like hours but was mere seconds,before the " " and their families stampede into the room.
"We came as soon as we heard." Pogue panted out as he and the other tries to catch their breath from running to the families aide.
"she gone." Caleb whimpered out, his shoulder sagging under his wife's arms,as she stood wrapped around his nick lightly. Sarah shook listening to her husband. The boys drifted to Theo,who still stood frozen,watching his parents,as they were surrounded by their friends. The men with solemn faces as they sank down to his father's weeping form. Their wives wrapped around each other.
"She left,guys."Theo whispered as his eyes wander to those of his friends."She just got up and left with some intern." Charlie placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sure there's more to it then that, Thee." Charlie spoke softly to the frozen boy.
"He's right, No matter what your sister's been threw lately, she wouldn't just leave us." Denny added,stepping closer to the pair. Axel was fuming and scared. It had to be with Collins, that intern ,who gave him the creeps.
"We'll find her,man. Even if it the last thing I do, we will." Axel said with such conviction, his eyes flashing that it drew the adults attentions.
"Axel..." His dad started as to say but was interrupted by the officer walking in with a photo.
"This is the man, the video showed your daughter leaving with." The officer hand it to Caleb,before leaving the room. Caleb's face went white, his stomach dropped as his eyes locked onto a face he hoped to never see again.
"It can't be..."He croaked out, his voice raw from tears, the boys came closer, as the dads' faces each blanked and paled,when looking at the photo.
Theo peered at it, confused.
"Its Collens, dad. the officer told us that." Caleb's head shot up to look at his son.
"You've seen this man." He shook as he stood, his grip tight on Theo's shoulders,pain settling there as Theo grimaced.
"Well yeah, he was in here all the time, he was the intern assigned to her case." Charlie added, as he went to stand with his dad
"No ,no, no." Caleb cried out. He dropped the picture and as sarah pick it up, she yelp in freight at the man who had her baby.
"what's going on, who is this guy, that your all so surprised by?" Axel demand as he looked around at the shaking " "
"Chase Collins is back..." Reid answered,his posture tight, as he pulled his wife closer to him.
The rest in the room gasp.
"But he's dead, the barn fire." Honor said from her place next to the wives.
"Apparently our worst fears are true, he survived and has come back for our kids." Tyler replied
"What, we need to..."Some one started but we stopped as Caleb spoke.
"we need to move this conversation some where else, and figure out where my daughter is and why." He grabbed Sarah's hand and Theo's arm and led them out of the room, followed by the others ,who formed a barrier around the broken family, as they were met outside by press and police. Piling into their cars they all raced to the coven's house, Kari's safety and where a bouts locked in their minds.
After some kind words,I decided to try writing this again. To those who've been waiting and or wanting a new chapter,I'm sorry for the long wait and I wish i could say it won't be so long of a wait but I can make no promises. But I'll try my hardest to continue this .
