I'm finally finished!

Whoo-hooo!

This is the last chapter of this crazy story, and I can't say I'm sad to see it end because I am so happy to finish one of my ongoing multi-chaptered fics., but it has certainly been a journey, and thank you guys for taking it with me.

This is a long one. Enjoy!

Chapter 15. Truth be Told.

Damon's POV

Damon walked through the supposed ice factory. For a building using that much power, there wasn't a whole lot of ice to show for it. Sure there were plenty of freezer lockers, but no refrigeration.

Then Damon was knocked on his ass by an explosion deep within the building. A loud crack announced that he had fallen on his cell phone. Gingerly, Damon removed the phone to find it smashed beyond repair.

"Crap!" Damon said. "Just when I finally got some evidence!"

Damon looked back to the front door. He could go and get in his car, but how far would he have to go to find a pay phone in this day and age?

And that explosion was no coincidence. He didn't know what it meant exactly, but he certainly couldn't ignore it.

Making sure that his gun was unharmed on his belt, Damon strode forward.

Bonnie might be somewhere in the building.

Bonnie's POV

Bonnie watched as Jeremy tried to strangle Elijah, but his hands couldn't get around his neck. Just give her a try, and she was sure that she could get the job done.

Jeremy turned and put his hand out. "Bonnie, give me your blade."

Bonnie pulled her metal fragment behind her. "Get your own."

Jeremy focused on Kol next. "Come on. Give me the bayonet-or even the clippers."

Kol shook his head, walking over to Jeremy. "At some point, Jeremy, you must cross the threshold from boy to man." He nodded to Elijah. "Think of this as a rite of passage."

"Darn it." Jeremy exclaimed, then sighed. "Okay."

"If you can't reach around his neck you've got to find a different way to skin the cat, so to speak." Kol reached over and put his hands on Elijah's face.

"You've got to hold off his nose and mouth at the same time. Do you think you could do that?" Kol asked, like a father teaching his son how to ride a bike.

It seemed crazy, but Bonnie thought that Kol would make an excellent parent.

Under Kol's hand, Elijah struggled to breathe.

Then Kol let up and nodded to Jeremy. "Give it a try."

Jeremy's POV

Jeremy took in a long, deep breath. He was pretty sure he was ready for this. If not now, then when?

He stepped up to Elijah and pinched his nose closed and covered the man's mouth. Still the guy squirmed, knocking Jeremy off balance.

This. Was. Not. Fair.

Elijah was tied up and poisoned, and still Jeremy couldn't get the upper hand.

"Lean into it." Kol instructed.

Jeremy tried, to no avail.

"Use your body weight." Kol said. "Leverage is the key."

Unfortunately Kol didn't seem to understand exactly how little Jeremy weighted, even with all of those cupcakes. But still Jeremy tried, really pushing into Elijah, keeping his hand steady over the man's mouth and nose.

Finally, Elijah slumped. Jeremy released his hold.

Elijah was dead. Finally his fifth. Nobody could say he wasn't a serial killer any more.

"Wow!" Jeremy said. "I really do feel empowered."

Kol smiled warmly. "And as your reward…"

Kol opened a door, and through it gleam shone. Jeremy walked through into the room in awe.

Every weapon known to mankind was here, hanging from a circular ring attached to the ceiling.

"This must be where the wizard kept all the weapons!" Jeremy breathed out.

This was way too cool.

There were hay hooks swords, even spears hanging from the ceiling.

Bonnie walked around the weapons, but seemed loath to let go of her meatal fragment, even with the plethora of weapons in front of her.

"It's like a killer's candy store!" Jeremy announced, checking them all out.

"Do you see any guns?" Kol asked.

Jeremy shook his head. "He must keep those somewhere else."

But who cared. He dropped his stupid pocket knife and picked up a large hunting knife. It was serrated and everything. Then he found a broad sword. Who needed a hunting knife when you could have a sword? Then he found a pike. Who needed a sword when you could have a pike? Just as sharp, but a nice long handle to keep you away from the enemy.

Kol grabbed a spear gun and sai. Covering his bases Jeremy supposed.

Jeremy struggled to pick up the pike. The thing was super heavy.

"Imagine what I could have done to Elijah with this!"

Kol cocked his head. "Yes, but what did we learn?"

Jeremy screamed as a pain shot through his side.

He looked down to find himself impaled on a hay hook.

What? How? Then he glanced over his shoulder to find Klaus gloating.

"How about, check for a fucking pulse, asshole!" The rapist said lifting Jeremy up by the hay hook.

Kol's POV

Kol walked over as Klaus hurled Jeremy's body aside. The teen landed with a sickening thud.

"I think that it's about time for some pillaging." Klaus announced, looking ready to make good on his threat.

"Run!" Kol yelled to Bonnie.

But Bonnie planted her feet, her metal fragment at the ready.

"You stayed." Kol said both surprised and gratified.

"Only because if he gets past you, I'm toast."

He loved how pragmatic the woman was.

Klaus showed them a long piece of bloody rebar.

"This is what killed Tyler." he exclaimed. "And it's going up your ass, right about now."

Kol stood between Bonnie and Klaus.

"Fucker!" Klaus spat. "We both know who's going to win."

"Really?" Kol said. "You've never even come close to beating me."

"Ah," Klaus said. "Now you have a weakness."

Instead of coming after him. Klaus charged Bonnie.

Kol threw himself between them and brought his sai up and blocked the initial blow, but Kol couldn't hold onto the sai. It clattered to the ground. No worries. There was a two handed sword right there.

Kol swung high and hard, hitting the rebar just a few inches up from Klaus's hand.

The rebar fell to the ground. Kol tried to take advantage of the situation, but Klaus quickly grabbed a trident and blocked his blow. Kol's sword hit Stefan's old chest plate. The sudden jarring motion caused Kol to lose the sword, but he put his hand out and brought back a…spatula.

"Ah, the famed spatula." Klaus chuckled. "Your shit luck continues."

Kol tried to make Klaus eat those words. He used the spatula to its greatest effect, first with a sharp snap to Klaus's face forcing the rapist away. Then he turned the spatula on its side using the edge to cut a deep groove in Klaus's cheek. But the rapist wasn't idle.

"I am sick-the-fuck with you!" Klaus said then used a new knife to slash downward, cutting deeply into Kol's arm.

He held tight to his spatula. He stood there as defiantly as one could with blood running down your arm and your only weapon a spatula.

Bonnie's POV

Bonnie knew Klaus was coming at her next, with Kol bloodied. She was ready for it. As Klaus dove forward, Bonnie slashed with her metal fragment.

"Ha!" Klaus snorted. "I've got Stefan's armor bitch."

But Bonnie pretty much knew that. She hadn't been aiming at Klaus's chest; she'd been aiming at the straps to the armor.

Klaus eyes dilated as the strap split and the shield slipped off his chest. The rapist brought his hands down to protect himself.

Kol took advantage of the situation and turned the spatula around and slammed the end of it into Klaus's eye.

The rapist howled as he stumbled backwards.

Bonnie rushed forward. "We've got to finish him."

"Yeah..." Kol said falling to his knees. "I'm going to have to take a rain check on that."

Bonnie looked back at Kol and realized he had been injured far worse than she had thought. His face was drained of color as blood gushed from his wound.

"Fucking cunt whore!" Klaus raged as he pulled the spatula from his eye.

Bonnie grabbed Kol by the elbow and pulled him to the door. "Come on!"

Kol was weak and had to lean against her as Klaus stumbled forward, groping for them.

"You're getting the full Boston strangler experience now!"

Bonnie didn't doubt that, if Klaus could catch them.

Bonnie was determined to make sure that didn't happen.

"Hurry!" She encouraged Kol as they raced down the hallway.

Damon's POV

Damon had heard noises and what he'd thought were screams and shouts. There were other people in the warehouse. He was sure of it.

But not knowing the layout of the place kind of made it difficult to find them.

There was a door up ahead. Damon was beginning to doubt if he really wanted to go through it. Damon wanted answers, but there was something about this dingy. Empty, eerie ware house that was making him doubt his dedication.

Going outside and maybe getting some backup was sounding more and more appealing. But he needed more than the heebie-jeebies to get a full team out here. So through the door he went.

At first Damon didn't realize what he stumbled onto. The image just wouldn't pass from his eyes to his frontal cortex.

How could there be so many weapons in one place? So many knives? Swords? And was that a pike? Blood stained the floor, as well. Someone had come in here and used those weapons.

"Okay this…this is definitely evidence."

He pulled out his broken phone and checked it again.

For a singular moment it sparked to life, and then died again.

"The one time I'm proven absolutely, positively right…"

Bonnie's POV

Bonnie held Kol up while he, strangely, knocked on the wall. Bright red blood dripped on the floor.

"Oh god, you're bleeding again."

"It's fine." Kol insisted even though his weight was heavy against her.

"You're gushing!" Bonnie insisted trying to get him to go faster but every few feet Kol would stop and knock. This was not helping their escape.

"He's going to hear you." Bonnie hissed.

"You mean heard, bitch!" Klaus yelled from somewhere behind them. "I might not be able to see you whore but I can fucking smell you."

Good to know.

Bonnie tried to drag Kol along, but his last knock opened a sliding door, and light poured out into the hallway. Bonnie didn't worry about where the door way came from, nor where it lead. She just pulled Kol inside as the door slid closed again.

It took her eye a few second to adjust.

Were there computers, monitors and video feeds all around her?

Kol leaned forward on the desk checking one of the feed.

"Damn it." Kol said. "He's right behind us."

On screen, Bonnie watched Klaus going down the same hallway they had just come down, pounding on the wall as Kol had done.

She could hear the blows through the wall. It was only a matter of time before he found the door, as well.

Kol reached out and pushed a button.

On screen, Klaus reached up as his collar shocked him.

How did kol do that? As a matter of a fact, how did Kol know there was a secret panel?

"Oh my god!" Bonnie said, taking a step away from Kol.

Kol looked down at his arm to see the blood.

"Wow, you weren't kidding." He said as he looked around for something to cover the wound with.

However, his arm wasn't what Bonnie was taking about. "You…you…you…"

She couldn't put into words to the horror coursing through her body.

"Are bleeding to death?" Kol mocked her. "Yes. Help me tie this."

Kol offered her a piece of cloth, but Bonnie backed away another step.

"You've done all of this…"She breathed out, finding it hard to believe, despite the evidence right in front of her. But there Kol was, working the controls like an expert. "You're the wizard!"

Kol just smiled as Bonnie tried to piece together how all of this could have happened.

"But you've only been down in the dungeon for three years. Klaus had been there four."

Shrugging, Kol explained while he wrapped his arm. "I thought watching would be satisfactory, but quickly I realized that I had to experience the dungeon firsthand."

"But you…you were shocked!" Bonnie said. "I saw you shocked. And Igor was unconscious. Who?"

Bonnie spun around; looking for another accomplice of Kol's but it was just the two of them.

Kol pulled a small device from his pocket and hit it. His collar jangled.

"Wireless remote control. A wizard's best friend."

He then turned back to the control panel and zapped Klaus a few more times. The rapist finally abandoned knocking on the walls and ran back down the hallway. This couldn't be true, though. There had to be some mistake.

Bonnie stepped back and ran into chair. It had a coat draped over it. As her palm hit the fabric, Bonnie realized that it was her coat.

The rest of the realizations were equally painful.

"You were the one in the alley." Bonnie stated.

Kol was distracted as he checked the monitors for Klaus.

"Damn, but you put up one hell of a fight. Kudos."

"How could you?" Bonnie demanded. "All those people you've kidnapped. Me…." Then she realized how

much gratitude she'd felt for the man who had beaten her and thrown her into a dungeon filled with

serial killers.

She felt sick to her stomach. "I can't believe I almost ….oh god."

Bonnie tried to find a trashcan in case her stomach did what it wanted to do. Kol came over to her, but she had the presence of mind to slash with her metal fragment.

"Keep back." Bonnie hissed as she maneuvered herself. Kol took the bait, stepping away from the control panel. She dove and hit the button for his collar. It sparked, zapped him. "How do I get out?"

"But I want-"

Bonnie wasn't listening to any more of Kol's words, so she zapped him again. "How?"

Her hand hovered over the button as Kol answered. "Klaus is still out there…"

"Klaus may be a psychotic sadistic rapist, but I'll take that over an egotistical, machiavillian, megalomaniac like you."

She could tell by the set in his jaw that he wasn't going to tell her anything. He was too used to being the wizard. She found a book and put it on top of Kol's collar, shocking him continuously as she made for the door.

The last thing she heard from Kol was. "That's my girl." As she dashed out the door into the darkness.

She hadn't gotten far when she heard a sound. She spun around with the business end of her metal fragment ready to take on anyone. Then came a sound from the other side.

Maybe going out on her own wasn't her smartest move.

Finally, she exited the dark hallway to find a large warehouse. At least there was some illumination as moonlight streamed in from the windows. There had to be an exit somewhere.

She wasn't going to find it any time soon, as Klaus grabbed her from behind.

"Oh yeah!" Klaus snarled. "My cock is going to-"

"Bonnie duck!" An unfamiliar voice shouted from the darkness. She had absolutely no idea who it was, but duck she did. Klaus had she around the waist, but she bent over just as the shot rang out. The bullet hit Klaus in the shoulder, releasing his hold.

Bonnie fell to her knees.

Damon's POV

Damon looked to the woman on the ground. She looked like the princess in his pictures, but her hair was straggly and her eyes looked haunted. He couldn't be sure. He also wasn't exactly sure of who he'd shot.

But first things first. "Bonnie?" He asked.

The woman rose, pointing a small metal fragment at him. "Get back!" She warned.

"You're safe." Damon tried to reassure her. "I'm detective Damon Salvatore."

"Sure you are." The woman snorted. "Get out of my way."

She took a step forward, brandishing her little fragment.

"Damn it, drop it." Damon said. "Or I'll be forced to shoot."

The woman smiled. "Oh, you really are new at this."

"Hey!" Damon protested as she menaced him. "I'm the good guy!"

The woman launched at him, slashing the air with her tiny blade.

"Bonnie!" Damon shouted, but she wasn't slowing down.

He aimed and fired just over her shoulder. The woman stumbled to a stop.

"You had two bullets…" She said sounding very confused.

"Yes." Damon said aiming again. "And I've got twenty more where those came from."

The woman's whole demeanor changed completely, as her face clouded over and tears sprung to her eyes. She lowered her weapon as she rushed toward him. Still not certain of her intentions, Damon stayed on high alert. Bonnie rushed to him, encircling his chest with her arms. She buried her face into his chest.

"You really are a cop." Bonnie cried. "Oh thank god! Thank god!"

Damon wasn't quite sure why the sudden change of attitude. However he wasn't minding the trend. She raised her face to look at him.

"How did you know that I was here?"

"Your friend Caroline reported you missing, and I tracked down the vehicle that abducted you to here."

She rubbed her face against his chest. "Oh thank you. Thank you, thank you!"

"It's just my job." He said as he finally released into the contact and closed his arms around her. "Phase one complete…"

"What?" Bonnie asked.

"Oh, I was just saying how we need to get you out of here."

"Yes, please." Bonnie said as tears streaked down her face.

"So…"A voice said from deeper in the warehouse. "Does Kol know that you're cheating on him, he's a possessive fellow that one..."

Damon thought he was on high alert, but he wasn't ready for a sword to come sling out of nowhere. He had to dive to the side to shove bonnie out of the blades way.

The sword left a red line down his arm.

Damon counted himself lucky as he fired blindly into the darkness.

"This way!" Bonnie yelled, tugging him in the opposite direction. Which was fine by Damon. The further away from that psychopath the better.

"I thought Starvin Stanley was an older man."

Bonnie ran faster as Damon struggled to keep up.

"He was." Bonnie said.

"Then who the hell was that?" Damon asked, probably not really wanting to know the answer.

"That was Klaus the Boston Strangler." Bonnie exclaimed.

"From three years ago?" Damon asked for clarification.

"From Boston?" Off of Bonnie's nod Damon gulped. "Jesus, I was wrong about Starvin Stanley."

"Oh, no." Bonnie said shaking her head as they ran. "He was awful, but he was kill."

"Starvin Stanley is dead?" Damon asked getting more confused with every word out of Bonnie's mouth.

"Yes." Bonnie answered. "Jeremy killed him, or at least he's taking credit for it."

Damon frowned now, feeling winded and confused.

"Exactly how many bad guys are there?"

Bonnie's POV

Bonnie burst into the room, then realized her error.

"No!" She shouted. "This is the wrong way."

They had ended up back in the blade room, rather than the control room. Quite the difference.

"You better believe it, whore." Klaus said stepping out of the shadows, his right eye a bloody ruin.

"Shoot him! Bonnie screamed, and the cop was more than happy to oblige. He fired rapidly. She had to duck as ricochets pinged off the metal weapons and made their way around the room. She covered her head as a precaution.

However, Klaus seemed to slip between the shadows with ease, weaving and maneuvering with skill, his knife constantly in play.

Then the cop's gun clicked as met hit metal. He was empty.

Crap, crap, crap."

He did the strangest thing. He tipped his gun to the side. Then tried to fire again. It didn't make any sense.

The cop did it again, to the same poor effect.

"No automatic re-load in real life."

No, there certainly wasn't. The cop finally got it together and pulled a clip off his belt.

"How many clips do you have?" Bonnie asked.

"Just this one."

Oh that was not good. Not against Klaus. The rapist was fierce.

Even Kol the wizard, had to flee from Klaus's rage.

Just as the cop was slamming his clip into his gun, Klaus launched a full-out attack. The cop would have been taken down if bonnie hadn't lashed out with her loyal metal fragment. She caught the rapist's wrist, making him scream and back off.

The cop fired to no effect. With Klaus, he might as well save his bullets.

"Cover me." Bonnie shouted.

Damon's POV

"For what!" Damon cried. Bonnie didn't answer him as she ran into the middle of the weapons. "I've lost him!" Damon announced, although in truth, he wasn't sure if he'd ever really had the rapist.

Everything went silent except for the squeak of the hooks the weapons hung on. The blades swayed back and forth in front of him.

"Bonnie?"

No, this wasn't creepy at all he edged his way toward the weapons.

Where had she gone? And why had she gone there? Damon checked his corners, which was a little difficult to do, since the room was round.

"Damon!" Bonnie screamed. "Up!"

He looked upward to find the rapist balancing on the rafters. Damon didn't have enough time to swing his gun up as the guy leapt down on him.

The weight knocked Damon off his feet. He struggled to get his gun free as they rolled on the floor. Luckily, the rapist's knife was equally useless in their brawl. Then the rapist freed a hand and punched Damon in the jaw.

His lip split from the impact. Blood sprayed across his attackers face. They rolled into the wall, hitting hard just as Damon freed his gun. The weapon went skittering out of the room into the hallway.

Damon elbowed the rapist just as he was about to take a swing, and the knife when catawampus, as well.

Pushing up to his feet, Damon finally had the slight advantage and took it. Throwing a one-two punch. The rapist was on his heels. It seemed like having only one good eye and hand was taking the guy down a notch or two.

Damon began to think that he might just be able to pull this off when he slipped in a pool of blood and tripped over a body. When he looked up, the rapist was gone.

He studied the young man at his feet. "Who's that?"

Bonnie stepped out from the center of the room and handed him the end of a string of razor wire. He had no idea what for, but what did he understand since he walked into this ice factory from hell?

She nodded to the body.

"That was Jeremy. Too bad- he was a pretty sweet kid, for a serial killer."

How many did that make now? Starvin Stanley. Who supposedly was dead somewhere. A Kol who Damon didn't know yet, and hoped to never know. The rapist and now Jeremy. That was four so far. What the hell was going on?

Before he could ask, the rapist grabbed Bonnie by the neck and put a knife to her throat.

Bonnie's POV

Bonnie gulped hard, scraping her skin against Klaus's blade. How could she have let him get behind her?

"You won't be so quick." Klaus whispered into her ear. "Maybe I'll combine all of our techniques?"

Bonnie watched in horror as the cop groped around for a weapon. He was brave and loyal, that one, she had to give him that. But what could he do against Klaus?

The guy was like the Energizer Bunny of serial killers. It was like the dungeon had hardened him into a diamond. A very violent diamond.

Klaus licked up her cheek as he continued. "Starve you a little. Beat you a little. Eat you a little, then-"

The cop finally picked the pike and grabbed it, ramming it toward Klaus. The rapist was startled enough to loosen his grip.

"No!" Bonnie warned the cop. "The wire! Get the wire!"

With a kick to the knee Bonnie was able to get away from Klaus and grab her end of the barbed wire. Instead of running for it. Bonnie ran around Klaus.

The dungeon had forged her a little too.

She had a plan. A plan that one-eyed Klaus just didn't see coming.

She braced the handle of the wire then screamed. "Up and pull!"

Putting her back into it Bonnie yanked on that wire and jerked up as hard as she could. The sound of the wire cutting into Klaus's flesh was wet and slurpy.

Damon's POV

Damon didn't realize what he was doing until the wire had cut all the way through the rapist.

Klaus's good eye was wide with horror yet he didn't even cry out as the top half of his body fell off the bottom half. It took a full second for his legs to realize they weren't connected to his brain anymore. His guts, though, sloshed to the floor immediately and then his legs crumpled to the ground.

The rapist's top half rolled a few times, landing face up.

They guy didn't look dead he looked surprised.

Dear god, he'd just helped cut a man in half. Not exactly how he expected his day to go when he woke up in Bonnie's apartment.

Panting from exertion, Damon looked at Bonnie who was doubled over.

"Are you hurt?" He asked. She too, was panting, and just shook her head.

"Let me take a look."

There was a lot of blood on her, and Damon wanted to make sure that none of it was hers. She urged him away.

"I'm okay." She insisted.

"Oh, you are more than okay." Damon said surprised that his feelings slipped out so easily, but under the rush of surviving he could barely contain himself. Bonnie tilted her head away, but she did blush. "However, I do need to make sure that you're not injured."

She allowed him to course his hands over her. He had to remind himself that he was looking for injuries.

Then a chime sounded. Bonnie stiffened, her eyes darting side to side. "Oh no…" she groaned.

Bonnie tugged on his sleeve. "We've got to go."

A male voice came over the speakers.

"Poor Klaus. He's half the man he used to be…"

They charged the door but a man stepped into the doorway.

He was tall dark and handsome, but with a cruel look in his eyes.

Bonnie squeezed Damon hand.

"Who the hell are you?" Damon asked.

"Your killer." the man announced glaring at Damon.

"Watch out!" Bonnie screamed but Damon wasn't quite sure what he was supposed to watch out for.

That became abundantly clear in just a few seconds, as the weapons suddenly began spinning around the room. They were on some kind of mechanism. Bonnie and him scrambled to the edge of the room to stay out of range of all those sharp edges.

Kol had disappeared through the door which was now locked. There was another door on the other side of the room, but there was a whole room full of flying knifes between them and the room.

"And who was that again?"

Bonnie's POV

"Kol kidnapped a bunch of serial killers then threw them together for fun and he's got this whole place rigged with remote controls and hair-triggers." Bonnie explained.

The cop frowned. "Okay, information overload."

Bonnie watched the blades go round and round.

There had to be a way out. Really, had to be, as the carousel began spinning faster and faster, causing the occasional weapon to fly off and embed in the wall. Pretty soon, there wouldn't be anywhere to hide.

"Do you have any c-4?"

"No." The cop answered. "Um why would you think that I did?"

She didn't think he had any, she just hoped that he did...

Then Bonnie realized that if this was the weapons room there was another way out. She dropped to her knees and started searching the floor.

The cop picked her up by the waist and moved her just as a large broadsword sailed past.

"Watch out!"

But she spotted it. A trap door. They must be directly above the dungeon. The cop tried to pull her towards the edge of the room but she squirmed out of his grip.

"No!" She exclaimed. "There!" She shouted as she started kicking the trap door, all while trying to stay out of the weapon's way.

"Kick it!"

She had to give the cop credit. He had absolutely no idea what was happening, yet he risked his life to kick at the floor for no apparent reason. But there was a reason. Finally, with one final kick, the trap door cracked revealing the passageway to the dungeon.

"Get down there!" Damon urged trying to get her down into the passage. The weapons overheard were practically a blur but she grabbed his arm.

"Do you trust me?"

Damon's POV

Damon almost got clocked by a scimitar as he looked into her eyes. They were pools of perfect emerald. "Yes." he answered without hesitation.

"Then get me that scythe." Bonnie answered pointing to a weapon flying over heard.

He had no idea why the hell Bonnie would need the scythe in particular, but there wasn't a whole lot of time for twenty questions. So he waited until it came around again, and then reached out to grab it.

Unfortunately he got nicked by an ice pick. The next time round he timed it better, jerked the scythe from its hook, and handed it to Bonnie.

She turned it around and instead of using the sharp end like he would expect, she shoved the handle down into the hole they had created.

A loud whirring louder than even the motor above them sounded and blades sliced through the passage. They hit the scythe handle, grinding into the wood. The mechanism complained loudly, grinding its gears. Finally, the motor blew, and the blades stayed buried into the scythe.

"Okay, now we go down." Bonnie said as she crawled down and between the blades. She kicked at another trap door, and then disappeared through the opening. Jake not quite as lean of hip had to shimmy his way down and therefore was not prepared when he fell through the air and landed hard on the ground.

Actually debris.

This lower level had been blown out. Bent bars were littered everywhere along with serious carnage.

Damon's hand was wet and warm. Not a good combination. "Ugh I think that a lung." He said to Bonnie, who didn't seem fazed at all about what lay around them.

He tried to move his hand but found only more slime.

"Oh, and that's a pancreas."

Bonnie, however, pulled on his elbow. "Come on. We've got to get out of here before he seals the exit."

Damon somehow got to his feet but nearly ran into a man's body on the ground. He had a huge hole in his chest.

"Who's that?"

"Oh, just Tyler, the copycat Boston Strangler."

Damon shook his head. He couldn't have heard that correctly. "There was a copycat?"

Bonnie didn't answer as she picked her way through the debris. They came across another body. This one had his belly splayed open. "And that?"

"Um…"Bonnie said looking down. "That's Buck the Fuck." Her hand waved to the other side of the room.

"And Stefan the Sin Eater is in there somewhere."

"And the guy on my hand?"

"Igor." Bonnie answered flatly.

"I really need to get a hold of the station."

Bonnie's POV

Bonnie watched as stew fell out of the pipes and gas leaked through into the dungeon. "Hurry!" She encouraged the cop through the doorway and to the stairs. When they reached the top she raced down the hallway, only stopping to get around the food cart with Elijah attached to it.

"Now that; is Starvin Stanley."

The cop got that look on his face like he was going to puke or something. She'd think being a detective; he'd be a little bit more hardened.

"Yeah um I'm not sure if we really gained any ground."

"Help me!" Bonnie said pushing the cart forward until they were at the door of the weapons room. Beneath them gas rose, chasing them down.

Fear drove her muscles.

"What are we doing?" the cop asked.

Bonnie decided not to tell him, fearful he would balk.

Instead she just pushed the cart as hard and fast as she could. They rammed the cart with Elijah at the front into the swirling weapons. Pikes, swords, and knifes got lodged in Elijah and the cart. The sound of metal hitting flesh filled the room.

The cop sat on his heels at the back of the cart with his fist to his lips, clearly trying not to hurl. Finally enough blades got stuck that the mechanism stopped spinning.

"Now!" Bonnie yelled as she raced across the room. The cop, no matter how nauseated, was at her heels. Once to the other door, Bonnie pulled out her metal fragment and started working on the lock.

"Get out of the way!" Damon said swinging an ax above his head. He and the ax made quick work of the door.

They were free. The warehouse glowed in the moonlight. The door was past several dozen stacked crates.

Bonnie realized she shouldn't have jinxed herself as the chime sounded again. Kol was having way too much fun taunting them.

"Impressive." The chime voice said. As it went along, it changed into Kol's voice. "You learned quickly, Bonnie." Kol continued. "However, you really should have taken me up on that offer of protection…"

The cop stepped between her and the darkness, hefting his ax.

Kol seemed unimpressed though. "Because, trust me, he isn't going to last long."

And Bonnie couldn't disagree.

The cop's heart was in the right place-however, he just wasn't devious enough.

He would try to take Kol head on, while Kol probably had backup plans for his back up plans.

The cop turned to her. "No matter what happens, you've got to run."

She laid her hand on his arm. "Salvatore."

Damon's POV

"Damon." He corrected nearly choking up.

"Damon." She responded, putting her hand on his cheek. Footsteps rang out from deeper in the warehouse.

"Okay this may not be the best time." Damon said. He had to come clean. "But in case I die or better yet, if I make it…."

"I know…" Bonnie said caressing his cheek.

"No, you don't." Damon insisted. "I lost Herbie."

"Who?" Bonnie asked confused.

"Your hamster." Damon explained. "I lost him. I was-"

Bonnie put a finger over his lips and chuckled. "Don't worry. I can't seem to keep one alive for more than three months either."

Damon leaned in. her lips were so beautiful, even if they were smeared with blood. But she tilted her head away. He could understand. She wasn't ready. Instead, he kissed her on the forehead.

"I'll do everything I can."

Kol stepped from the darkness carrying a speargun and a spiked mace on a chain.

Damon really should have checked the inventory before settling on an ax.

"I'll give you the same offer as Elijah." Kol said even though Damon had no idea what he was taking about.

Bonnie however, seemed to get it.

"Don't make me fight my way over to her, and I'll let you walk."

Well, Damon wasn't Elijah. He stepped away from Bonnie, ready to do battle.

"I hate to disappoint you, but the good guy doesn't walk away."

Kol's lips turned up into a cruel smile. He raised his speargun and fired. Damon turned to the side and used the flat of his ax blade to knock the spear out of the air.

All those years in little league weren't for nothing.

Damon tried to use the move to his advantage, charging Kol. The creep dropped the speargun and pulled a sai out of his belt and knocked Damon's ax to the side. He followed that up with a wicked left hook.

Damon stumbled back a step.

"Bonnie is so far out of your league, detective." Kol baited Damon.

"You psychopaths with your delusions of grandeur."

Damon used the handle and shoved it into Kol's crotch. Even a serial killer had their vulnerable zones.

Kol though, spun away before Damon could press his advantage.

"Bonnie needs a firm hand. A confidence you just can't bring to the table." Kol explained as he swung the mace, barely missing Damon's head.

"You know that outside your little 'weird world' chicks don't dig arrogance?"

Kol came at him with a sai. Damon turned and locked with his ax just in time. He then lowered the handle, catching the sai's handle. They were locked together.

"You have no idea what Bonnie quickens to."

Damon snorted as he tried to get control of his ax again. "You stalk her, brutally kidnapped her, and then threw her to the mercy of a bunch of serial killers."

Damon took an elbow to the nose, but didn't lose his grip on the sai.

"So, yeah." Damon continued to bait Kol. "I'm not too worried about who she's going home with."

Kol was a strong mother-fudger though, twisting his sai, trying to disarm Damon.

They seemed evenly matched until a shot rang out.

For a moment, Damon didn't even realize it was him who was shot. Not until red blood spread on his chest. He twisted around to find bonnie holding the gun. She must have missed and accidently hit him.

"Bonnie?"

She leveled the weapon and shot again, this time square in the chest.

Guess it was intentional.

Not understanding what the hell was going on, Damon slumped to the floor.

Bonnie's POV

"I really liked that hamster asshole." Bonnie said as she watched the cop fall to the floor. She wasn't safe. Not yet.

Kol had picked back up his speargun. They circled each other, wary predators.

"How many kills is that?" Kol asked her.

"Two." Bonnie answered, then corrected. "Counting back? Two and a half."

"No." Kol said. "I meant total."

"Oh, eleven." Bonnie said, with not just a little bit of pride. "And a half."

Klaus and Tyler thought they were such hot stuff. They'd only killed ten between the two of them.

"I underestimated you." Kol said circling her, aiming the speargun at her belly.

"Obviously." Bonnie said. That was the story of her life. Everyone thought she was such a sweetie. A wallflower. A pushover.

"I just took you as another man-hating psycho bitch." Kol said.

"Why would you say that?" Bonnie said, more than a little surprised at his description.

"Um you did track down your fleeing fiancée then garrote him and put his body into a wood chipper, correct."

"Okay." Bonnie said to be fair. "Him, I was mad at."

The bastard had knocked her up, then tried to leave? The stress of trying to figure out how to pay the mortgage on the condo caused the miscarriage. And he expected to set up show in Michigan? The bastard already had a new girlfriend by the time she'd caught up with him.

The wood chipper was almost too kind.

"And the rest?" Kol asked. "The other nine?"

Bonnie shrugged. "For the challenge, just like you."

"I don't think so." Kol snorted.

He fancied himself the wizard, yet Kol was just such a guy.

"Oh, so if a man wants to kill for the challenge, it's almost noble, but a woman wants the same thing and she's a man-hating psycho bitch?"

Kol shrugged back. "That's this society's assumption."

Bonnie aimed the gun, but Kol fired a spear at her.

Her shot went wide.

"At least I'm not acting out some strange, self-loathing murderous/ suicidal game."

"Oh it was never about the death match. That just kind of evolved on its own. Killing those amateurs wasn't gratifying. The dungeon was always meant to be a proving ground."

"To prove?" Bonnie asked.

"Whether or not they were worthy of being my killing partner."

"You've got to be kidding me." Bonnie snorted.

That was the most ludicrous thing she'd ever heard. Serial killers were loners by nature. Sure there were some partner teams. Usually brothers or lovers, but one serial killer looking for a partner? It was unheard of.

Kol's POV

Kol hurled the sai at Bonnie she ducked and fired.

Kol danced out of the way and then took up circling again.

"Think about it. After a kill, don't you want to talk about it? Share it with someone?" Kol queried.

Bonnie frowned. Was her resolve wavering just a little bit?

"Your hamster wasn't exactly filling that need, now was he?" Kol challenged.

Kol swept up an ice pick and threw it. Bonnie shot again. Missing. Again.

The girl really needed to get out to a shooting range.

"Together we would be our own force of nature."

His ice pick hit her in her side. Bonnie fired again and this time hit him in the leg. He was fresh out of weapons.

He looked up to find Bonnie aiming at him. She pulled the trigger, but was out of bullets.

Kol rushed her, tackling her around the waist. They both hit the ground, knocking the wind out of them.

She tried to grab Damon's ax, but Kol knocked the weapon away. Bonnie tried to struggle, but Kol used leverage to keep her down. He smelled her hair.

It was like a heady elixir of blood and confidence.

"What do you say?" Kol asked. "Join me."

"Why should I?" Bonnie challenged, not giving in one bit.

"How about a twenty-five million dollar inheritance that could fund the hunt of a life time?" Kol offered.

Bonnie snorted at his offer. "You don't think that I could find a multi-billionaire to marry me, and then tie him up in the study while I spent money on torture and mayhem?"

She was right. Bonnie truly had turned out to be worthy of the dungeon. He was so proud of her. Of course, she could have found some guy to fund her pastime.

Kol pushed off the ground and rose up.

He offered his hand to Bonnie.

Bonnie's POV.

She took it. "I'll need a little more incentive than cash in hand."

Kol noticed, though, that Bonnie didn't release his hand. "So it's still going to be quid pro quo."

She ran her finger down his chest. "No quid…"

Her finger kept on going. "And definitely no pro…"

Bonnie's finger went past his belt. "But quo? Quo is negotiable."

Kol smiled. "You know, I may learn to love Latin yet."

He moved to kiss her, but Bonnie's little magical metal fragment was at his crotch.

"You still haven't gotten me out of here yet."

Kol backed up a step and indicated to the open door.

Bonnie smiled. "You do realize that were now each other's perfect prey?"

Ah, to find his ultimate partner. After all these years, it was so gratifying.

Sirens in the distance said they should get a move on.

Kol put his arm around her waist possessively. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

As they walked past, the cop whispered harshly.

"Ungrateful bitch…."

Oh, how little the detective knew.

And there you have it folks. THANK YOU so much for reading this and giving me your feedback, adding to your lists!

I can't gush about you guys enough. I hope I tied everything up neatly but if anyone has any questions, you can PM me. I've left Kennet in that gray area so anything is possible with those two.

But once again this is the FINAL CHAPTER, and in case you're wondering I'll go ahead and let you know I do not have a sequel planned. *sad face* I know.

But good news, I will be writing a one shot following the after math of this chapter, but its just a one-shot that will be titled Red Roses. * insert serious face* I'm serious guys, I have too much that is waiting to be completed at the moment.

*insert smiling face*

Nevertheless I love you, my little lambs! Thank you again!

P.S. tell me, how bad ass was Kol with that damn spatula! I was inspired by tangled, if Rapunzel can go ham on someone with a frying pan, why not make a spatula just as deadly?

Tell me what was your favorite scene? and who's your favorite Killer now?
