Dear Darlings,
Today was a very special day for you three; your tenth birthday. And, of course, the day you could begin your pokemon journeys! Although this letter is mostly for Amber, I can't wait to see what you, Jake, choose as your starter. Evan, I know you've already decided who yours will be, your uncle Cilan even brought a Snivy the whole way from Unova just so you could have your favourite Pokemon.
Amber, I decided to give you one of my very own Pokemon. You were really happy at the thought and even though I know it'll be hard, I know Totodile will be really happy being your partner for your upcoming journeys. I'm sure you're wondering why I gave you Totodile and not Evan or Jake and that's why I'm writing this letter; to explain why.
I wanted to give you Totodile because it's really special for me and your mother, just like you are. Obviously Evan and Jake are just as special to me as you are but you'll always be my little girl... Especially after we almost lost you as a baby, you mean the world to me, Amber.
Anyway... The reason Totodile is so special to me is because we don't actually know if it's meant to be mine or Misty's. I caught him when I was ten but both of us threw a Pokeball at it so we battled for him. I know it's pretty stupid but after that I had a special spot for Totodile, it was kinda like we both owned him, even though we didn't know who was meant/ to have it.
And that's why I wanted to give it to you, Amber. He means a lot to me and, like I said, he was both me and Misty's, just like you are. Well, at least I like to think he was both ours. I love you and I hope you take good care of Totodile, I know you will and you both will make us all very proud of you.
