I'm sooooooooooo sorry for not updating any sooner but I had to revise for my mocks, had a trampoline competition (which I did bad in), Had my drama performance, went skiing for a week and had a bit of writers block and I would find inspiration the night before I went skiing. I tried to write it but couldn't finish it so finished it on the plane but the wifi was terrible there.
Hope this chapter makes up for it and Merry Christmas

Eddie POV
I woke up quite early for me. I went down and found Jerry walking with me to the fire and Milton and Kim already sitting there talking.
"Morning Jerry"
"Morning" He mutters back. I can tell he isn't a morning person
"Hi guys" Kim says in a really happy voice
"Hi, you're happy today" I say
"I feel happy today. The sun is up, the birds are chirping and there is no wind" She tells us
"What about the challenge. We know it's going ahead though" Jerry says
"I'm not thinking about that" The horn then goes and Jerry goes to get the bag
"The note says: Morning Water. Today we will have the challenge as expected. It's a camping challenge and all are expected to play. This will be a 2 day challenge. The place you are in at the end of the day will receive half points so if you were in 2nd you would receive 3 points instead of the usual 6 and the same applies tomorrow. See you when the next horn sounds" Jerry read out
"That was what the note meant the other day. It was a camping challenge" Milton says
We quickly eat up breakfast and prepare for the challenge since we all have a shower even though we had one last night and top up all of our water bottles up to the brim. I was the first one ready as I was waiting for the others. I then see Kim is ready as she walks over my direction but then she must have heard something in the forest as she turns to look in that direction. Milton then joins me and Kim walks over as well.
"What was that about?" I ask Kim
"I heard a lot of sticks snap and someone call my name. I must just be hearing things" She tells us. Jerry then comes down from the tree-house just as the horn goes. We all set off and I look back at the camp like I'm not coming back like when you move house you look at the house for the last time before you set off.
It didn't take us long to get to the clearing. We arrive at the same time as Earth and we all notice that they were also missing a player. I think they noticed that we were to. At our stand there were 2 rucksacks which were fully packed with a map and compass on the outside and then there were 2 smaller bags which had a lot less in. It wasn't long after that did Wood arrive and again they only had 4 players.
"Guys do you think that the best player form each team has been taken?" Kim asks
"What you mean by that, you and Jack are almost equally matched" Milton tells her
"In the first challenge the girl missing from Earth was ahead of me and the boy on her team finished just behind her yet the girl is missing and the boy is there. The boy who finished in front of me isn't there today and in out ream Jack finished ahead of me and he isn't here" Kim says
"Well let's see is Fire match that as well" Milton says
"Dude she's right that really quick mean boy from Fire isn't there" Jerry says
Just as Fire get to their stand the Island Master appears out of nowhere again.
"I want to know how he does that" I hear Jerry mutter under his breath
"Moring Campers. Sorry about not having challenges the last few days. Some of our workers thought it would be funny to go on strike but don't worry it's all been taken care of. You also might have noticed that some people are missing. There's nothing to worry about as they are safe somewhere and will probably return to you at some point before the escape. They will also be helping you in today's challenge without you knowing whether it being they lower something for you or guide you on the right path if you get lost but you will never see them or you automatically get nothing. Before you all ask today is a camping challenge which will run over 2 days. 2 of you will be out finding stars which all contain puzzle pieces and tomorrow when you finish you will build. The 2 people back here have an electronic map which shows what routes are open or shut but also the most important where the stars are. There are 3 ways of communicating on the island: the radios, the pods and by letters. The radios are all on the same frequency since there is only 1 so any team can intercept these messages. The pods only work for 30 seconds at a time and they can only be used every 30- 45 minutes but again anyone one can intercept these messages. The letters will be sent out at 6pm and 6am from base to the campers and is just for that team. I'll give you 5 minutes to discuss." The Island Master tells us
"That's a lot of information" Jerry says
"Yes and your small brain can't contain it all" Kim says back.
"So what are we going to do then?" I ask
"I think that Kim should go out and I should stay back" Milton says
"I'm not staying with Jerry for this challenge" Kim says
"Why?" Jerry complains
"Because you bug me. I can only stand your dumbness for soo long" She tells him
"Eddie you better go with her" Milton says
"I'm cool with that" I said "But you will have to do a lot for me"
"That's fine" Kim tells me.
At this point the Island Master comes back to us "Well I hope you decided what each person is doing. If you are going out camping then follow the Person with your corresponding colour and take the larger rucksack. If you are guiding them then follow me and take the smaller rucksacks" We waved goodbye and followed our leaders. Me and Kim followed the person in blue. All groups carried on down the same paths and then one by one we went on our own paths. It wasn't long before we reached a gate
"You will start here on the horn" Our leader says to us before disappearing
"How do they do that?" I asked myself
"We will never know" Kim says
We decided to look at the map while waiting for the horn. We see that the stars are all over the forest and we have to travel for them. I notice that there are several camping spots. We decide that we should go for the stars around the outside as the exit is in the middle. We work out which way we should go and get ready for the horn and we it goes we set off at a quick pace on our way to the first star.
Milton POV
We follow the Island Master down a long woody path when we see 4 areas each blocked off.
"Here is the control booth. Each team will be in 1 of the booths and the booth will help you track your team and also where you will contact them. You will be locked in there until your team escapes. An instruction guide will be given to each team to help you on your way. One final thing before we start the positions you end up in at the end of each day will receive half points. If you are first then you would receive only 5 points. Good Luck" The Island Master tells us before disappearing.
One of the other Island helpers comes over and pushed everyone into their cages
"I want no cheating or escaping or else bad consequences will happen to you and your team. You can turn things on but no communication till the 2nd horn. The first horn is so you know that they have started" He says. I look at Jerry and I can tell that we are both thinking the same thing...HELP!
I quickly begin reading the guide on how to turn it on while Jerry looks through the bag. It doesn't take me long to figure it out. I managed to find out where our team is on the first horn.
"Jerry watch where they are going and try and figure out where they are" I say to him as I turn to the book.
Eddie POV
We had been walking now for about an hour now. We had found the first star quite quickly and now heading towards the 2nd star but I believe we are lost. We had opened our star but found nothing in it. We had decided that only 8 out of the 10 stars would have puzzle pieces in.
"E and K do you read. E and K do you read?" We hear through the radio.
"Do you think that's for us?" I ask Kim and she nods finding the radio
"It's E and K. Is it M and J?" She speaks in
"It is indeed. Now how you doing?" Milton asks (Well I think it's Milton)
"We have the first star but no puzzle piece and on the way to the 2nd but we're not sure where we are" Kim tells them
"Can you see Soul Lake on your map?" Kim comes over to me with the map and points to it and I nod
"Yeah we can"
"Go North and there's a yellow track which has the symbol of a black triangle in it running through it" Kim shows me the map again and points to it
"Got it"
"Your above the middle of the lake on that track" Kim points to it and I sort it out
"Thanks Milton. You're a life saver and O then I" We don't hear anything back. We carried on walking till we reached a point which we saw a sign of a wave. It looked freshly carved. They were on a path and not very long after we saw that sign we came across another star. This time we didn't open it as we wanted to carry on. I saw Kim looking through her rucksack.
"What you doing?" I asked her
"Trying to find the radio. I wanna talk to Milton about the best possible route to the next star and also to camp as I think there is about 4 hours of sunlight and I don't want to be caught without a tent at sundown." She said
"Fair enough" I say and it wasn't long till we found it. We tried calling base as we nicknamed it but no one answered.
"I'm going to suggest that we head round to star 6 and inland to star 7. That would give us the chance to get more stars and there are 2 possible campsites near those stars." Kim suggests looking at the map.
"Good idea. Ready to go?" She nods and we set off.
Jerry POV
I was sat watching the monitor while Milton was trying to figure out what some of the other controls did. I noticed that Eddie and Kim had reached another star and were setting off.
"Milton, I think Kim and Eddie have got another star and have set off on the same path towards star 6" I shout over to him. I didn't like being in the cell together but at least I wasn't with Kim. We could get on but she can get very competitive and we just end up arguing. It would be like what's happening in the team next door as we hear their screams arguments through the cages.
I was scared for the campers as they had no access to us. The helper taking care of us decided that we were going to have 2 hours of silence as apparently 1 team it was all what they were doing.
Milton had come over and he was working out something. I had got our sleeping area sorted. We had decided earlier that we were going to take shifts watching them for any notices that happened as we knew that one of them would be awake. The team had decided that we shouldn't travel when it's dark and get some sleep so we would be better on the 2nd day.
It wasn't long after that when me and Milton were talking about our lives away from here did we notice that star 7 had been moved.
"Should that be moving?" I asked Milton
"Don't think so unless Jack has it or another team." Milton suggested
"Ok teams, communications are now open again and I will let you know that it will be dark in approx 90 minutes and that you have half an hour to write your letters if you are sending any by mail." The Island helper said.
We immediately got on the radio with our team
"J and M to K and E" I said
"We've got you j and M" Kim voice said coming out of the radio
"Head to campsite 7.2 now. The star at 7 has been placed there and you only have about 90 minutes of light left" I say
"Ok so tell us where we are about" Kim's voice says and I pass the radio to Milton
"At the next junction take the left road and follow it till you reach the clearing where the star is" Milton says to Kim
"Got that. Contact us if we go wrong" Kim says then hangs up
We carry on watching them till they reach camp. At that point I knew they were safe.
Kim POV
We were walking after getting off the radio with Milton and Jerry when the clearing appeared. We jumped in joy. We quickly got the tent out and up as I said right at the start I didn't want to put a tent up in darkness. I've done it before and it isn't good. Eddie went to find more firewood while I kept an eye on the fire and the pasta we were cooking. I felt like someone was watching us.
"Kim there's a pile of firewood just around the corner from here. Help me with it please" Eddie said to me
"What about dinner?" I ask him
"It'll be fine for a few minutes and it will save us a job when it's dark" Eddie says and I go with him and like he said just round the corner from the main camp there is a pile of firewood. It looked like it had been placed there.
We got back to the pasta and it hadn't burnt. The note then arrived from Milton and Jerry telling us were doing ok bit we really need to pick up the pace. I served up dinner after and realised that there had been some flavourings. That's when I realised what was happening. Jack was helping us.
It wasn't long after dinner did it go dark and we decided to go to bed. The tent was actually quite nice with 2 compartments which were separate and a curtain on both sides so we could sleep separately. Again we had decided that none of us would watch as the other people caning would be asleep and I also knew deep down that Jack would keep an eye on us. I fell asleep thinking about what tomorrow would hold for us.
Milton POV
I had taken first watch making sure that we were ok which I was pretty sure we would be since we are in a cage but also Kim and Eddie are still in the camp. I was looking at the map deciding which would be the best route for them to take when one of the stars started moving. During the rest of my watch the star which had moved had joined to another one which meant the journey for them tomorrow would be quicker. I began trying to figure out why it would move while trying to sleep and that's when I realised Jack was helping them.
