Here is the next chapter. I really wanted to write the next chapter to continue with what I have going on. I really like where it's going. I'm editing the last chapter now and then I'll repost it. Enjoy
-This Is A Line Break-
"Worry not, I will deal with the people who gave you this mission. It's not what I wanted you to have to do."
Desmond nodded and subconsciously cuddled into Ezio's side.
Claudia smirked as she watched the pair. She had been trying to get Ezio with someone, now she had found who it should be.
-This Is A Line Break-
Ezio scowled as he dragged Desmond and Ree back to the bureau, Claudia following behind at a reasonable distance. He was going to kill whoever thought it was a good idea to leave Desmond at a Brothel and then try to take advantage of Ree in his absence. This was not going to end well for some of the Assassin's.
Claudia smirked behind her hand as she watched Desmond being pulled tight to her brother's side. Ree was once again in Ezio's arms and was snuggled down into his chest, asleep while Ezio almost ran home.
For good reason too, Claudia couldn't help but think, it was more than likely that the Assassin's responsible for the misconduct were even now running from the bureau in fear of what might happen.
Desmond looked between Ree and Ezio in barely hidden fear. The Alpha was angry, extremely so. If Desmond didn't know the anger wasn't at him, he would have sank down to his knees and begged for forgiveness. As it was, he was just barely on his feet. The almost inhuman speed was the only thing that kept him up. Desmond felt like they made it to the bureau in several blinks. The door slammed into the wall, leaving only silence in the once chattering hall.
Ezio waited for Claudia to enter and take her place by Desmond before glaring at the room.
"Would any one explain exactly why my orders were ignored?" His voice was low and almost a whisper. His eyes glowed with his eagle vision, giving him the air of an insane, homicidal maniac. After his words, the only sound in the room was Desmond's whimper. He'd wanted to sink to his knees for some time, and now, with his alpha, where had that come from, angry and in one spot, he almost did just that. If Ezio hadn't had a firm grip on his arm, he would be on his knees at Ezio's feet.
Claudia seemed to realize Desmond's inner conflict as she stepped forward and took her spot by Desmond's side. She glared out at the group that stood inside the room. Among them were Machiavelli and La Volpe. The two looked at the Auditore's like they were insane, eyebrows up, eyes narrowed.
"Ezio, what is going on?" Machiavelli came forward first, one hand at his side the other on La Volpe's shoulder, keeping the thief in step with him.
"I ordered that Desmond and his son be apprenticed under a higher level assassin to test their skills and train them if necessary. They were than to report directly to me about what they had found." Ezio's glare turned toward his allies and strengthened when he saw the assassin he asked to train Desmond.
"I'm sure it was a mistake, Ezio. The Assassin in question probably thought that Desmond was ready for a mission and sent him on one to test his skill." La Volpe tried to calm his friend. Ezio's anger could be seen and it was making the omega nervous. La Volpe noticed and tried to calm the alpha so he wouldn't hurt the omega on accident.
"If that was true, I would have been notified." Claudia stepped forward again. Taking Desmond's hand and placing it on Ezio's arm to calm the alpha down, she turned to look at the two other top rank assassins'. "Desmond has been working in the Rose for a month. He has been on a mission to learn from the girls there. If he was just on a training mission, his son would be with him. He would have been sent home before now. I would not allow an omega with a child to care for be placed in the Rose to begin with. "
La Volpe and Machiavelli took half a step back at the ferocity of Claudia's speech. She was clearly un-amused with what had happened with Desmond.
"Whoever sent Desmond to the Rose knew that he had a son, an omega son at that. I am not amused. Vincent, come forward. You and I need to speak. Privately. The rest of you, your missions will be handled by my mother and sister until further notice. Valeria, take Desmond and Ree to their room and get them some food. I will deal with you later." Ezio's voice was icy and made everyone shiver.
-This Is A Line Break-
Ezio sighed and dragged his hand through his hair before pushing his hood back to reveal his face. Valeria watched her mentor with sad eyes. He was obviously very stressed out. She knew exactly why. All betas saw this at some point or other. As Ezio was an alpha and had found a suitable mate, now his instincts were screaming at him to protect and mate with the omega in question. If Valeria wasn't a beta, she would probably look for someone like Desmond to mate with. He was loyal and strong, despite all the set backs that had happened to him in his life.
"I am sorry you were dragged into this mess, Valeria. You have been nothing but a friend to Desmond and have watched out for his son. I thank you for that. You are not in any troubleā¦" Ezio trailed off, unsure how to continue. Valeria nodded and waited until her mentor dismissed her before standing.
"Desmond will be happy to be under your wing mentor. As badly as the other Assassin's were, Claudia can watch the brotherhood for a while. You should show Desmond that the alpha's his met are not the only kind out there. You are different."
She walked toward the door and paused in the doorway before leaving.
"He likes you too, you realize. You treet him with respect and love his son like he was your own. Maybe its time to settle down with a mate."
Ezio watched as she left, unwilling to call her out. He shook his head and placed his head in his hands. A knock at his door had him whipping his head up and pulling up his hood in the same movement.
"Enter," he called. The door swung open and revealed Claudia standing there, smirking. Ezio groaned, resisting the urge to slam his head back into his hands when he recognized that look. He hadn't seen it since before their father and brothers had been killed, and now seeing it again, he realized why he didn't miss it.
"What is it, Claudia?" He half-groaned. He almost immediately regretted his words as her smirk deepened.
"I need you to do something for me. Please." She half demanded, smirk never falling. Ezio groaned.
"Let me guess, you want me to play pack mule?" He asked, half sarcastically.
"You hardly need my excuse to be a ass, but so be it." Her look changed into a serious one. "I need you to pick something up for me in a few days. I have a new Courtier to train and I can't go myself. The others all have appointments or are not able to go. Please." Her eyes turned into puppy dog ones and he groaned aloud.
"Fine. Where and when?" He finally asked, unable to deny his sister anything.
"In two days, by the aqueduct. Please don't be late. I need the package on time. Ask for Georgio when you get there, he has what I need." She smiled and turned, skipping back to the door. "Remember, don't be late." She called over her shoulder before leaving.
Ezio groaned again, slamming his head into his desk. Little sisters were always a pain the ass.
-This Is A Line Break-
Desmond snuggled closer to his sleeping son, eyes glued to the door. After so long away from his son, he was not going to let anyone tear them apart any time soon, missions or not. A knock on the door had a growl crawling up his throat and reverberating through the room. Apparently the person outside paused because it took a minute before the knock came again.
"Come in," he finally growled. When the door opened slowly he glared at the figure entering. Claudia slowly entered, hands up.
"Easy Des, it's just me," she called from the door. Desmond felt his hackles slowly drop and a half smile made its way onto his face.
"Hey Claudia." he called over, mindful of Ree sleeping on his chest.
"I have a request for you Desmond. I need an omega to pick something up for me and you're the only omega I know. My girls are busy and most of them are betas anyway. I'd send an assassin, but all of them can barely pass for lower betas. Please Desmond. I can't go, they'd recognize me and sooner kill me than hand over the package I need." She had crossed the room and sat on the far end of the bed. Desmond's eyes followed her until she sat; weary before relaxing when she made no move toward Ree.
"When exactly do you need the pick up done. I will not leave Ree for another day at least." He told her gently, easily bending to the beta on the bed. Claudia frowned when he easily gave in. Most omegas who had been separated from their young children this long wouldn't bend to anybody, beta or alpha. At this point, anybody could try to order Desmond around and should end up with broken bones or worse. The fact Desmond just gave into her made her realize she had made the right choice and a smile came to her face.
"I need the package picked up at the aqueduct in two days. Ask for Georgio. He has what I need. Thank you so much Desmond. You're such a big help." She cooed over him for a moment before retreating, unsure how he'd react to the blatant praise. He let out a half smile and went back to stroking Ree's hair as she left.
-This Is A Line Break-
Desmond sighed as he looked around the aqueduct, trying to find Georgio. He'd been searching for hours already and couldn't find anyone by that name. People were beginning to look at him strangely the longer he was around. Omega males were rare enough that most of them were sold off to rich politicians young, to find one in their adulthood without an escort was a sight to see. Desmond ducked around another person, searching for the person he was supposed to meet before a jumping when a hand grabbed his shoulder.
"Where are you going, Sweetheart?" The sickly sweet voice cooed at him, making him wince in spite of himself.
"I'm looking for someone, Sir. If you would please let me go on my way." His voice left no room for argument though his words were definitely a question. He did not look up at the man holding him, even as the scanned the crowd, looking for a way out. He found none. The people nearest them had turned to look when the other man had spoken, taking away most of Desmond's exits. They were now moving to form a circle, further blocking him in.
"Oh, but Teroso, I was planning a nice private place, just for us. Though if you wish to bring along another, they'll have to be okay watching." The man made Desmond quake in disgust. His entire body felt slimy and made Desmond want to drown himself to feel clean again.
"Desmond asked you to release him, Signore, I would do so if you want to survive." A new voice joined the murmurs of the crowd, though this one was very familiar. Desmond's head whipped over to the sound and he couldn't help the breath of relief that left him.
"Ezio." He called, pulling harder on his arm, trying to get to the alpha.
The man didn't let him go at first, but when Ezio drew his sword, his hand was gone from Desmond's arm instantly.
"I didn't realize he was already claimed, Sir. You should keep your omega on a tighter leash, someone might steal him." He sneered at the alpha. He turned and left, leaving Desmond behind with a sore arm and embarrassment clear in his cheeks.
Ezio came toward the omega and gently pulled the smaller man into his side and cuddled him.
"Let's go, Teroso." He spoke gently and Desmond found himself agreeing almost at once. He folded himself into Ezio's side and cuddled there, unwilling to move. He had no wish to pull away from the comforting hold. It had been a long time since he had felt this safe and longer than he could remember that anyone had held him gently.
Ezio led Desmond toward the Coliseum and into its privacy before gently pushing Desmond down to sit on a grass covered rock. When Desmond easily slid down, Ezio followed, sitting in front of the other male.
"I was wondering why Claudia insisted that I bring a picnic lunch, and why she had it hidden in here." Ezio commented softly.
"Did you figure it out?" Desmond asked quietly. Ezio looked at him and smiled gently, pulling his hood off and pulling the basket from a spot nearby.
"I did. Did you?" Ezio asked in return, smiling as he opened the basket.
Desmond smiled and helped Ezio spread out the blanket. The two grinned and chatted in hushed whispers while they ate.
By the end of it, Desmond swore he was in omega space, so high off the feeling of making an alpha happy that he barely noticed the time go by. When finally the sun had set almost too low for the two to see each other, they packed up and Ezio offered Desmond a hand up.
"Thank you for having the picnic with me." Desmond thanked shyly, smiling up at the taller male through his bangs.
Ezio smiled and wrapped an arm around Desmond's shoulders, pulling the omega to his side and cuddling him there.
"It was my pleasure. You will have to allow me to do this again. And maybe at some point with you and Ree." Ezio's voice sent shivers up Desmond's spine.
"What do you mean?" he asked, unsure how to respond to Ezio's seemingly strange request.
"I would like to court you Desmond. If you will allow me to." He held up a hand when the omega went to interrupt. "I want to show you how an omega should be treated. Please allow me this honor Desmond. "
Desmond flushed and looked at his feet, suddenly unable to respond.
