Chapter 9. Wow, That's about three chapters since I started updating again.
Hope you enjoy.
-This Is A Line Break-
Both Desmond and Ezio laughed and carried on walking down the busy street, allowing Ree to lead them to Leonardo's shop, where Claudia had instructed some of the girls to leave a meal for them.
Later, Desmond lay wake next Ezio and Ree and realized he knew the answer to the question Ezio didn't want to ask yet.
-This Is A Line Break-
"He sounds like an interesting person. I wish I could have met him." Valeria leaned back in to her lover's shoulder and closed her eyes as she heard Claudia whisper in her ear.
"Me too."
-This Is A Line Break-
Desmond sighed as he woke. He couldn't ever remember being as comfortable as he was right then. His hard pillow was warm and Ree cuddled into his side. He sighed again and nuzzled further into the pillow. It's soft breathing lulled Desmond into a familiar state of sleep.
His pillow shook as he lay there, too comfortable to want to get up. He had no wish to leave the warmth that held him safely in its arms.
A chuckle drifted into the air as Desmond cuddled further into the pillow, face pressed into the warm chest.
"Are you awake, Teroso? It's time to wake. We have much to do today." Ezio's warm voice added to the blanket around the omega.
Desmond sighed and cuddled deeper into his Alpha's chest. He had no wish to leave and it made Ezio chuckle.
-This Is A Line Break-
Ree smiled at the tone of his mother as he told him his favorite bedtime story. Ree and his two younger siblings loved it when his mother explained how he and Ezio had gotten together.
It had been ten years since Ree and Desmond had appeared in Renaissance Italy. Ree had been a skinny seven-year-old omega, unsure where he stood among the other young assassins. Desmond and Ezio had helped break him of the habits beaten into him by the Dursley's and the modern assassins and now he stood proudly as a senior journeyman, about to embark on another mission.
As his mother finished his tale, Ree kissed his siblings good night and slipped out the door with his mother trailing behind him.
"Are you nervous?" Desmond's voice was almost a breeze blowing through the empty house. Ezio was out on a mission and Desmond was left to watch the two younger children while Ree was out on his missions. The two were luckily, in both Desmond's and Ree's eyes, not omegas. The older of the two had just turned nine and was an alpha, much to Desmond's amusement and Ree's annoyance. Every alpha that Ree ended up bringing home to meet his parents, the younger alpha, Luka, scared them off. The youngest, Rosa, was a beta and happy to be so. She had just turned five a few weeks ago and was happily learning form her auntie's Claudia and Valeria.
Ree looked back at his mother and shook his head. He wasn't nervous. He'd been on hundreds of missions like this one. He was going to retrieve the information, not preform the assassination, which was his beta partner's job. Mostly, Ree was the distraction and the true assassin would make the kill, except…Antonio had been killed on his last mission.
Desmond raised an eyebrow at the younger omega. Ree looked at his feet and nodded. It was his first mission alone, yes, he was nervous.
Desmond wrapped an arm around Ree's shoulder and pulled the boy to his side.
"I remember my first mission without Valeria," Desmond confided in his son, "Ezio was worried. It was my first mission without her or another partner. I think he was just worried that I'd find someone else to mate with. I was nervous too."
Desmond looked down at his son. The little boy who had first looked up at Desmond at 1 now almost looked him in the eye, smiling through straight, white teeth. His little boy had grown up, under the tutelage of his mother and father. Now in front of him stood a proud young man who was ready for his first solo mission.
Ree nodded and slipped an arm around his mother's shoulders. Desmond returned the motion and pulled the young omega into his side. After a quick squeeze, he pulled the boy to an arms length and gripped his shoulders.
"You're ready." Desmond smiled as he spoke and gave Ree one last squeeze before letting him go. "Go on, it's time."
Ree smiled, ducked in for a quick hug and ran from his side before Desmond could hug back. His mother was right. Ree was running late.
-This Is A Line Break-
Ezio smiled when Ree dashed through the door and smiled apologetically.
"Sorry, I was helping Mom put Luka and Rosa to bed. They didn't want to go to sleep." Ree ducked his head and smiled again. Ezio shook his head and chuckled.
"It's fine. I know those two are a handful." After a sharing a smile with his son, he straightened his shoulders and cleared his throat. "Right, time to begin. You understand your mission?" At Ree's nod Ezio continued. "I am going to remind you that you are there to gather information. If you are approached by a guard or aggressor, you are to run. The information you are gathering is more important than you proving you are a strong assassin."
Ree nodded. He grumbled under his breath but nodded anyway. As an omega he had a lot to prove to his fellow Assassins, this order was not something he wanted to hear. Ezio smiled at his son and ruffled his hair.
"I know you don't want to hear that, but your safety is more important to me than you proving how strong you are. Ree, you have been training your entire life and you are a fine Assassin. You have no need to show that to everyone, you have already proved it." Ree pouted again but nodded a slight smile appearing through his pout.
Ezio smiled again at his son and nodded to him.
"You are ready. Time to go. Remember, you are gathering very important information. An omega can gather information that betas and alphas can't. We're too obvious to gather that information. People are always wary of alphas and betas, omegas are ignored and that makes it easy for you to gather information." Ree nodded at Ezio's words and bowed to his mentor. He was ready.
-This Is A Line Break-
Ree snuck around a corner of the roof quietly. He was gathering information, not attacking everyone. He grinned to himself as he pickpocketed yet another guard and sat nearby to listen to the conversation those guards were having.
"I told you, the Borgia want us to take the boy to …"
"Where is he?"
"A small building by the brothel. You know the one. It's named after a flower."
"And you're sure it's one of the Assassin's?"
"Shhhh, that's enough."
"But what…" a hand was slammed over the man's mouth and he was dragged away. Ree sighed, then blinked. His eyes widened and he jumped up from his bench in alarm. An assassin was being held by the Borgia! No! That shouldn't be possible. Ezio had trained most of the Assassin's personally; it was hard for them to get caught, if not impossible.
But this boy… Ree nodded to himself and climbed a ladder up to the rooftops nearby. He should really report this to Ezio immediately. But…what if it wasn't an assassin? what happens if it's just a trap? Ree should check it out, just to make sure. No one would question an omega by a brothel. It was one of the reasons that Ree was sent to retrieve information from Claudia all the time.
Now though, Ree looked around and then nodded. He was going to check that the boy really was an assassin and then report straight to Ezio about it.
With a final nod, Ree set off and broke into a run. He needed to find out if there really was a trapped assassin, and fast.
-This Is A Line Break-
Ree had barely laid a foot on the building before he dropped into an ally and walked out to the main street. He quickly checked the nearby buildings for the boy. He shook his head when he didn't find it right away. He tried again and his eyes widened when he saw the flickering blue among the red forms in one of the buildings. Quickly, he crept to the window that held the flickering blue and looked in carefully.
A young man sat in a chair, hands and ankles locked to it with ropes. The young mans hair was disheveled and through blond strips, Ree could see blood dripping down his face. He looked around the room, looking for any enemies that could be nearby. When he saw none, he opened the window and crept inside.
The young man didn't look up when Ree entered and the raven-haired boy was glad for that. He crept closer and was surprised when he saw the blonds shoulders tense as he crept closer.
"I told you already, I don't know anything about the Assassins." The hoarse voice almost made Ree jump out of his skin. He took a breath and placed himself in front of the blond male so he could take him in completely. His eyes widened.
The blond was not from this city, heck he wasn't from this time. Ree hadn't been in the future for almost ten years but he would recognize the clothing and shoes anywhere. Desmond had kept Ree's clothes from when he was that little until Ezio made him burn them. The argument that had followed still left Ree in stitches.
Ree turned his attention back to the blond when he saw the head rise slightly. He hurried forward, not wanting the boy to hurt himself.
"Hey, careful. You'll hurt yourself further." Ree's voice was a whisper as he held the boys head in his hands. The blonde's eyes widened when he realized it wasn't his tormentor speaking to him.
"Who are you?" the other man gasped at Ree. Ree smiled and went about cutting the ropes binding the man with a knife.
"A friend," he whispered before cutting through the last of the ropes and placed a hand on the blondes shoulder. "Come on, up you go."
Ree pulled the man to his feet and then placed one of his arms around his own shoulders. The blond teetered for a few seconds before he leaned heavily into Ree and then settled back on his feet. Ree pulled him toward the window and set off on the long journey home.
-This Is A Line Break-
Desmond's pacing was going to drive Ezio insane, it was a firm fact in Ezio's head by the time the sun reached the highest point in the sky. Ree had been gone almost a day and the longer it took the boy to check in, the more worried the man became.
"Desmond, relax. Ree is a man now; he can take care of himself. If he runs into any trouble, he knows what to do. You've raised him well, trained him well. He's a great young man." Ezio pulled Desmond into his arms as he spoke and cuddled his omega into his side. Desmond laid his head against Ezio's chest and settled in, sighing as he did so.
"I'm just nervous. Ree's my little boy. I don't know what I'd do without him." Ezio nodded into Desmond's brown hair and wrapped his arms around the other male in a comforting hug.
A knock on the door brought them out of their moment. Ezio raised his head and then called for the knocker to enter. Valeria entered, followed by Claudia and Ree.
Desmond sat up instantly and looked between his son and his in-laws, attempting to leave his alpha's arms and found himself unable to. He looked back at his alpha and froze when he saw his alpha's face.
"What happened?" The voice that came from Ezio's mouth scared Desmond a little bit.
"Ezio, this is important. Something's come up." Claudia stepped in front of her nephew and mate, hiding them from Ezio's anger.
"What? Ree, what happened?" Desmond's voice came through from Ezio's chest.
Ree look between his parents and stepped out from behind his aunt.
"Mom, I found something, or rather someone. The Borgia's had him. I overheard some guards talking about how he was an Assassin, so I went to check it out. Only, the man I found wasn't an Assassin, or at least not one from this time. "
Ezio and Desmond looked at their son, eyes wide.
"I found a blond man from the future." Ezio and Desmond jerked to their feet at Ree's words. The raven-haired young man raised his hand and looked between the two. His eyes were begging for patience, which the two grudgingly allowed.
"He's an alpha, my alpha." Ree closed his eyes and tensed, prepared for whatever might come.

Thanks for your patience everyone. Finals and getting a summer job had kept me really busy. This is the first day that I really had time to write this chapter. The next one should be written within the next few weeks. I'm going to try to post every two weeks, that may not happen, but I'll let you know if I can't update and put the story on Haitus for the summer.
Thanks a ton
Ren
