Roc

After Ky left, Kira took us around the school. We saw the cafeteria, the library, the gym, everything just looked great. Then she took us upstairs to class, History. When we got to the classroom, she explained to the the teacher why we were late.

"Okay. Well, welcome to the school. Find a seat and follow along with the lesson as much as you can."

We found some seats together near the middle of the classroom. The teacher, , went on with his lesson on the Great Depression. I saw some stuff on the board, and felt like I should write them down. I grabbed a book and a pen out of my bag. I could see the girls in front of me, looking back a few times and I'm guessing the ones in the back were doing the same thing. I would say something but I don't need to get in trouble on the first day. Since we came late, we missed most of the class.

The bell rang and everyone got their stuff and left. Kira waited for us by the door.

"Ready?"

"Yeah, what next?"

"You have one more class and then you head down to lunch. I don't have the same class but you remember how to get there, right?"

"Yeah, I do" said Ray

"Good. Look for me when you get there"

We stopped at a room at the end of the hall.

We were on time because the class wasn't full yet. The teacher noticed us and came over.

"Welcome, I'm Mrs. Morton. This is Chemistry. Have a seat anywhere"

She went back over to the board and began writing stuff down. We went to the other side of the classroom and sat 2 rows from the window. People filed in later.

passed out some papers as the door opened right on the bell.

It was Ky.

She walked to the first row next to the window. On her way there she got a paper from the teacher. She was sitting 2 tables ahead of me.

For the whole period, we were supposed to do a scavenger hunt through the textbook and fill out the paper in pairs or groups. The first three groups to finish would get extra credit on the next test. I had no idea what I was looking at. But I think the problem was that I was distracted by Ky. I really wanted to talk to her.

Surprisingly we got through pretty quick. We figured out what was supposed to be going on and finished it. We were the 3rd group, some dudes were 2nd and Ky an 2 other girls were 1st.

Class ended and people rushed out the class to go to lunch but Ky hung back.

I walked over to her.

"So how is your day going so far?" she asked

"Good. I think it could be better"

"What's wrong?"

"I haven't seen you that much"

She smiled and blushed. "I've been busy. Since we're doing that little welcome performance and I'm going to be in it..."

"Doing what?"

"Dancing and music. We would've had the drama kids but that would've took too long"

"Dancing...I can't wait"

"And there's a party after in the gym"

"Cool. Um, do you think at some time in between all that, we could talk?"

"Sure. Find me at the party"

Ahem

We turned to see the guys looking at us with grins on their faces.

Ahem

This time it was the teacher.

"You should get going" said

We walked out the room. The guys in front and me and Ky in the back.

"So what are you doing now?" I asked

"Going to lunch. Everyone is supposed to meet there"

"Is the lunch good here?"

She laughed. "Yeah"

We walked in comfortable silence. Our hands kept brushing against each other until I finally grabbed her whole hand and intertwined our fingers. The guys had gotten a good distance ahead of us.

Suddenly she stopped walking. I turned to look at her.

"What?"

All she did was hug me. I pulled her close and wrapped my arms around her waist. Her arms got a little loose around my neck. I looked down to find her staring at me.

After a while, she bit her lip and looked down. She started walking and pulled me along by my sleeve.

We met up with the guys downstairs. Apparently they got lost. We followed Ky to the cafeteria and to a group of tables in the back. There were people everywhere.

We all grabbed seats. Ky wandered off to a group of girls nearby.

Ky

I really wanted to kiss him but I think I should wait. I was talking to my friends who I'd be dancing with. We were going to kill it, like always. I love to be surrounded by dance and music but my heart is really in writing and acting.

I was in the middle of talking to Erica, Savannah, Ricky, Jess and Anya when Quintin came running over.

"Ladies...we gotta go"

And my friends being as loud as ever, started screaming and chanting. I love them but they're a hot mess at times.

Backstage in the auditorium, we changed and started stretching. The boys, Quintin, Tyson, Will, Carson, Zack and Gary were ready too.

I had one of the girls help me take my hair out. Now it was a pretty wavy and hanging around the sides of my face and back. I had on black eyeshadow.

I changed into grey skinny jeans, a loose black tank top and white and black converse. I could hear everyone coming in. The other people from the music department showed up. I was going on with some of them later.

Harris and Chloe were going to be our announcers. They went up on stage. Everyone was finishing stretching, talking, getting their heads together.

First it was going to be everyone in the dance department then break off into me, Tyson and Will for one song and me Carson, Zack, Gary and Quintin for another.

Roc

I never knew Ky could dance. She's really good and her flips weren't too bad either. There was a break and then you could see instruments being set up.

"Now everyone we have some music for you. The group coming up is known to perform with each other a lot. And as you may know, Ky Grey is in this group and is really stubborn about singing in front of people."

"So, you guys wanted to hear her. And after weeks of begging and annoying her...she agreed."

The audience cheered

Out came Ky and 4 other dudes. They each stood by a mic except for one who went over to the drums. Two had a guitar and one guy had a set of symbols.

"Hey everyone. For those of you that don't know, I'm Kevin, this is Isaac, Jared, Oliver and of course Ky"

Ky went through 3 songs. Once she was done the whole room erupted into applause.

They left the stage and the faculty ushered everyone out and into the gym. I had no idea what to expect but this school knew what they were doing. Soon it got really hot. There were people dancing everywhere, in little circles taking turns getting in the middle. I managed to find Ky in the center of one showing out. After a while she walked away and I went after her.

I found her outside at the water fountain.

"Hey"

She looked in my direction and straightened up.

"Hey"

"Mind if we talk now?"

"Sure"

She took me this empty hallway and we sat up in the window seat.

"So what did you want to talk about, ?"

I chuckled. "Well Ms. Grey...I wanted to talk about...us"

"What about us?"

"So obviously we're together again and I kinda figured I should take the chance to get what I missed out on 7 years ago"

"Meaning?"

"Meaning...for the last 7 years you've had a hold on my heart. I waited for the day that I'd get to see you again and I'm not letting anything get in my way again. Basically what I'm saying is, even though we've been separated for so long, Ky will you be my girlfriend?"

Her eyes got wide.

"Uh...uh...I - of course, yes"

Without any hesitation, I kissed her. She tensed up a little but soon relaxed into me and started kissing back. I lost myself in the kiss. We pulled apart and tried to catch our breath while looking at the other.

"I know it was pretty sudden but I don't think I could've waited much longer to do that"

"Me too. I had to fight myself earlier today because I wanted to kiss you so bad. For most of the time we've lived here, people thought I was gay because I pretty much avoided boys but I'm not the gay one" she said and started laughing

"Wait. So that means that Kira is?"

"Exactly"

"When the hell did that happen?"

"I was the first to figure it out and brought it up to her. It was so funny. I did it as part of a prank. I called her using a pay phone and a voice changer and said, "I know what you're hiding" and hung up. When I got home, she was scared out of her mind. I was dying when I told her it was me but then I got serious and asked her why she hadn't told me"

"What did she say?"

"She said me she was afraid that I might think she's disgusting. I have no problem with that at all"

"So does she have a girlfriend?"

"Yup. Sasha, co-captain of the cheerleading team at the school 2 miles from here"

"Oh, so it's like that?"

"Pretty much. I'm not sure if Sasha is aware that I know, though"

"You know this means that she can't rag on me anymore, right? It's my turn to embarrass her"

She giggled "Hey, come on. I wanna show you something"

I followed her to another part of the school, into a room people might not know is here.

"The principal let me set up shop here for winning the Citywide High School Music Summit last year. I can do whatever I want it in here. This would be the best place to find me"

It was basically a hangout room. There were two couches, a tv and computer. She had a couple of bookcases and there was a table like one from the classrooms with high chairs around it.

"Does Kira know about this?"

"No, just me. And you"

She came around in front of me and randomly kissed me. She had on this shy smile but her eyes were saying something different.

I made her back up to one of the couches until she fell into the seat. I sat down and brought her onto my lap.

"You're really talented by the way"

"Thank you"

"So I guess you know what life has been like for me. How have you been?"

"Good I guess. You know I was never outgoing or had much confidence in myself. I spent a long time just trying to figure out where I belonged. It's a lot better now but it feels like something is still missing"

"Well I know it might be bothering you but you have a long time to figure out what that is. You're my girlfriend now, so I'm here when you need me. If you need to talk, a hug, or..."

"A kiss?"

Our lips connected and I pushed her back onto the couch. I kissed down to her neck and started nipping at the skin.

"Santo, stop... that tickles" she said in the sexiest voice I have ever heard

"Really? Doesn't sound like it" I smirk at her

I bite down a little harder and I hear small moan

"See?"

She rolls her eyes and pushes my head. We start making out again and it gets more intense. Our tongues are fighting, we're grinding against each other, and my body is on fire.

I rip my hoodie off and look down at her.

"What?"

"Do you know how beautiful you are?"

She giggled and covered her face.

"I'm serious" I bent down and tugged on her earlobe "You don't know how bad I want you"

"...Then show me"

"I will. Eventually but for now I hope you're fine with just this"

We kissed some more until her phone started ringing. I went to get up but Ky just pulled me back down. She reached in her back pocket and answered it.

"Hello?...Hey sissy...y'know around"

While she was listening her fingers were rubbing the back of my neck.

She rolled her eyes and started speaking in Arabic. The only thing I understood was Kira.

"You heard what I said. He hasn't done anything to you, he never does...Of course I am...Just stop it, okay?...Fine, we'll be there in a minute...Oh and just so you know, I put you on blast so..."

She hung up on her and smiled at me.

"What was that about?"

"Oh just Kira being an ass. She wanted to know where we ran off to"

"Of course"

"Let's go before she catches another attitude"

She wanted to wear my hoodie and it actually fit her pretty well. We walked through the hallway holding hands. We could hear the music getting louder the closer we got to the gym.

We turned the corner and found Kira tapping her foot impatiently.

"What is she, the rabbit from Bambi? Should I start calling her Thumper?"

Kira's head whipped in our direction. "Where'd you two run off to?"

"None of your business"

"Calm down. It's not like we left the building. I just wanted to talk to him alone for a little bit"

"Whatever. The other three should be out in a minute. Your ride is here"

"Okay"

Ky nudged me

"Hey, give me your phone"

She fiddled with both our phones then gave me mine back.

"Almost forgot to give you my number"

"Right. That slipped my mind"

The guys came out of the gym and Ky walked with us to the door.

She was about to take off my hoodie but I told her to keep it.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah"

"Ok. So I'll see you tomorrow. Bye guys"

She kissed me on the cheek, waved then ran to catch up with her sister.

"Hey lover boy. We're leaving, c'mon before we leave you"

"Hush up. I'm coming"
