Sorry for the wait! I had Christmas and New years to deal with ( btw I got custom Corey and Laney plushies from Setsunakou.) so here is the next chappie!
Kin walked back into the backstage area of the auditorium and looked around for his brother "Huh, my twin senses are telling me he's right here?" the bespectacled twin scratched his head. "Up here!" a voice called out from above. Kin looked up to see Kon glued to the ceiling "Really? Again?" Kin grabbed a ladder and headed up to free his brother.
Their other two bandmates walked in and saw the commotion "Again?!" Laney shook her head, making a mental reminder that Kon needed supervision the next time the power went out.
Corey was now in his prince costume: a dark grey vest with a black shirt underneath, a brown belt, and black pants. He also wore brown knee-high boots and a blue cloak. His signature beanie was off, leaving his hair in its usual state. A few loose hairs poked out here and there, but other than that it looked perfect.
"Hey nice costume!" Kon complimented. "Thanks, me and Lanes are about to do a scene, wanna watch?" Corey asked. "You guys go ahead, I gotta get Kon off of the ceiling." Kin replied, climbing up the ladder. Corey and Laney walked off while their keyboardist tried to pull his brother off of the ceiling "This is why we never play with superglue."
GLUE IS SUPER STICKY
Corey and Laney were on the stage in costume, performing their scene. They had already gone through the rest of the play and were performing the kiss scene. Laney laid on a prop bed with Corey standing near her and the Newman girls off to the side in their fairy costumes.
Corey looked at his script as he recited his lines, "Oh fair princess, let me wake you from your dark slumber with a sweet kiss." he inwardly gagged at how cheesy that sounded. He knelt down before Laney, leaning in hesitantly. Both teens' nerves were shaking as they prepared to kiss. Their hearts beat loud enough that they wondered if the other could hear. Their lips were only an inch apart…
"AAAAAAH!"
A scream tore through the air, causing everyone to turn and look in the direction it had come from "What was that?!" Carrie asked, looking at the Kagami sisters, who simply shrugged.
The doors burst open and Mina came running in. "Guy's something happened in the cafeteria!" Corey, Laney and the Newman girls all jumped off the stage and ran to her. "What is it?!" Carrie held her sister's shoulder, concerned. "I'll show you!" Mina led the way. Before anyone left, they all looked down at their costumes.
"Maybe we should change first." Corey suggested.
WICKED COOL TRANSITION
Now in their normal outfits (and joined by Kin, Kon and Larry) the group walked into the cafeteria to see the whole place wrecked. Food splattered all over and kids were hiding under the tables.
"Looks like a regular mystery meat day to me." Larry commented. "Does this happen on mystery meat day?" Mina turned the redhead towards the wall, where scorch marks were burned in illegible words "It was on fire a minute ago. This weird smoke filled the room and then all the chaos happened."
Kim approached the charred wall and tried to make sense of it "I can't read anything. Whoever did this needs better penmanship."
A buzzing noise went off in Kin's pocket. He brought out his phone and read the screen "It's not just in here. According to this bleat, weird stuff has happened all over school!" The others looked crowded around and peered over his shoulder to look at his phone. "The bleachers in the gym collapsed, several lockers are broken, the pool is bright red, and the toilet is clogged in the girls' bathroom! And at all the sights, there are scorch marks exactly like this one on the wall and reports of a strange black mist." Kin read to everyone.
"Who would do this?" Corey asked. "I will tell you who is responsible!" The kids turned to see an old janitor behind them. "This is the work of... an evil spirit!" He said menacingly. Everyone stared at him. "Many years ago, an evil spirit was trapped and sealed within the grounds this school was built on! But the spirit woke up! And now it's out for revenge! So beware! Beware..." And with that, the janitor left.
"I had no idea our school had such a creepy janitor." Kon commented, "Yeah, does he even work here?" Konnie questioned. "We can talk about creepy janitors later! Right now we gotta find the source of these incidents!" Corey spoke.
"You guys go back to working on the play. I'm going to check the library to see if that old guy was telling the truth about an evil spirit." Mina told them as she went to do just that.
Carrie sighed in annoyance "So now what? We just wait for something bad to happen to us!?" "Hey if weird things happened in all the biggest parts in school, how come nothing's happened in the auditorium?" Laney questioned.
Right on cue, a high-pitched female could be heard screaming back in the auditorium. "That sounded like Trina!" Corey noticed "Come on!" They all ran back.
SCREAMING TRINA TRANSITION
The gang entered the auditorium to find half of it knocked over and wrecked and half of it covered in green slime. "Ok, this is really creeping me out!" Kim said nervously. Corey spotted Nick Mallory in a corner.
"Nick! What happened in here?" Corey ran over and asked. "Nick Mallory was looking at himself in the mirror when a black smoke entered and brought a wind that knocked everything over. Trina Riffin then did that thing where she goes up in the air and covered everything in goo except Nick Mallory's perfect face." Nick explained.
"Core! Come see this!" Laney called to her crush. Corey sped over to find everyone looking at something on the wall. Written in flames was the sentence "Revenge shall be mine"
