Wow that was a quick update.
Laney tilted her head, not convinced by what she had been told "Ok, so you 're telling me that if I touch this sharp pointy needle that my wish will come true?" "That's right." the mist answered. "Doesn't sound too legit to me." Laney said bluntly.
The mist encircled Laney and a pair of glowing green eyes appeared to meet her face to face. "Listen, the wheel was enchanted long ago to fulfill what one truly desires. I have been its guardian all this time, waiting for someone as lovely as you to come along." The voice spoke to her.
Laney looked down at her boots. She wasn't sure about this, but after what happened, she had a hard time believing in anyone. "Look, strange voice and glowing eyes. You seem like a... nice person-mist. But, I just don't think I want to try this." She rubbed her arm as she talked, keeping her eyes to the ground and didn't make eye contact.
The mist moved so that its eyes were in front of Laney's face. "It's that boy, isn't it? Corey, right?" Laney's eyes shot open with surprise as the mist shifted part of its form into small silhouettes of Corey and Laney "You love that boy with all of your heart?" Laney watched as the figures of her and Corey got closer and held hands. "But he will never return your affections, leaving you to live with a broken heart!" The figure of Corey pushed the Laney figure away and turned and left. Leaving the figure of Laney crying and the real Laney looking at it in sadness.
"Love hurts doesn't it? It would be much better if you could get rid of those feelings." Sadly, Laney had to agree with the weird mist "... yeah. It does."
The mist implored her "Just touch the spinning wheel. And I promise, the pain will go away."
WICKED COOL TRANSITION
Corey buried his face in his arms, sitting at a table while Kon gave him reassuring pats on the back and two out of three Newman's present looked on with pity. "I can't believe I said all that." Corey blamed himself.
"It's not entirely your fault." Konnie told him. "Carrie was the one that caused it." Larry glared at the blue-haired girl and gave her a quick nudge with his elbow. They were rivals, but there were boundaries they respected. Carrie's bandmates both agreed that she had taken things too far.
Reluctantly, Carrie apologized "Look Rif-Corey, I didn't mean for that to happen. I'm-" she felt like she was about to gag "-sorry-oh, that felt horrible to say!"
Corey refused to look up "No, I'm the one that said all those lies. I'm the one that did that to Lanes…" he finally looked up "Truth is… I do have a crush on her." the other four were surprised to hear him admit it aloud.
The doors burst open, an out-of-breath Kin and Kim came running in "Something wrong you guys?" Kon asked. "We found out something! There really is an evil spirit running loose around here!" Kim announced. "No way! Really?!" Larry gaped. "He was sealed in a box that... Ikindaopened." Kin spoke the last part really quickly so no one would notice.
"Ok, so how do we stop this guy?" Carrie asked. Konnie raised her hand "And what does he want?" Kin and Kim exchanged nervous glances, then looked back to the group. "We kinda rushed over here and didn't look up how to seal him away again." Kim admitted. Kin then added in "But we think we know what he's after... wait... where's Laney?" Kon pointed to the frontman "Corey kinda broke her heart on accident. Why?"
Kin and Kim both gained a panicked look on their faces. "We need to get to her! Quick!" Kim said urgently. "Why? What's wrong?" Corey asked. Kin faced him and said, "We think it's after Laney."

Laney took another look at the spinning wheel. Then back at the mist. She knew that something wasn't right. But her heart ached, and she wanted this pain to end.
/
Corey and the others ran down the halls, frantically calling Laney's name. "Where could she be?" Corey asked in panic. "If I was a vengeful spirit, where would I carry out my revenge?" Carrie asked herself. "Well, somewhere dark and ominous. Or somewhere with dangerous objects." Kin answered back. "There is that spinning wheel we got for the play, that's what cursed Sleeping Beauty. If I was a spirit, I would curse one of those too!" Kon said. Everyone looked at each other and screamed, "The prop room!" They ran in that direction.
/
Laney held out her hand and reached for the tip of the wheel. She hesitated and pulled her hand back for a moment. "Come on, just one touch. And the wish will make all this pain go away." The voice urged her. Laney looked at the wheel again. She reached out to touch the tip.
/
The gang ran through the backstage area and headed back to the prop room. "Hurry!" Corey shouted.
/
Laney was an inch away from it. When she let a tear escape her eyes and fall down her face. Wishing with all her heart to make her heartbreak go away. She bit her lip and looked at it in sadness. 'Core...' Was the last thing she thought.
Then she touched the wheel.
/
"Laney!" Corey swung open the door to the prop section, letting himself and the others in. All was quiet until a sound broke through the air "Mwuahahahahhaha!" A voice laughed evilly. The group flinched at the sound. "Show your face, evil spirit!" Konnie waved her hand in the air threateningly.
The mist materialized in front of the group. It took a semi solid shape. It was still all black and silhouette-y, but its green eyes shot an uneasy feeling into the group. Its form was inconstant as parts of it would change every few moments. It looked like a black devil-like shape.
"It's nice to see you kids face to face." It said in a somewhat mocking voice. "Where's Laney!?" Corey demanded. The thing smiled to itself and let out a small cackle, "Why don't you see for yourself."
It moved aside to show Laney laying on the floor next to the spinning wheel. "Laney!" Corey screamed. He quickly ran over and scooped her up in his arms. He shook her, trying to get her to wake up. Everyone else came over and Kin leaned down and checked her pulse. "She's still alive. Just sleeping." He told Corey. The guitarist wasn't relieved though "But if she's asleep then why can't I wake her up?"
"Allow me to explain." The spirit said. "I cursed the spinning wheel that you all found to cast a spell of eternal slumber on whoever pricks their finger on it. I lured her in and convinced her to touch it. I told her I would grant her wish to make her heartbreak go away, and I did." Corey looked up at it "Wake her up now!" he commanded. "Oh, I can't do that. That is a powerful spell that I have put her under. And if she does not awake within 24 hours, she'll be asleep… FOREVER!" Everyone gasped.
"Oh, and you know what the best part is? I couldn't have done it without you, boy." It looked at Corey. "Me?" "Yes. You broke her heart, and that made her vulnerable. I guess you could say that it is all your fault then." A look of horror spread upon Corey's face. "...my fault..." His voice came out in a whisper.
The spirit gave another evil laugh before disappearing out of sight. The group all looked at Corey and Laney with worry in their eyes. Corey sat in shock "Lanes...what have I done?!"
