Next chapter! I have been struggling for inspiration on this, so bear with.
Lana POV
"Aren't you gonna do it? The break-up?" Azalea asked me. She has been asking me this for a week.
"Sure."
"All right. Just do it when you see him. It will seem more realistic." Liz put in.
"Yeah, that'll work. Balanced girls mean BUSINESS! Go L, GO!" Thalia did a random cheerleader routine.
"Calm down." Azalea frowned at her.
"Well, the catching him and breaking up on the spot thing seems a bit cold." I said.
"That is how you always broke up with people before, Lana. What is up with you? You're like, different. It's kinda freaky!" Azalea responded.
"Or are you just finding it really hard to do it?" Coleen and Cass teased me.
I resisted the urge to chuck a pillow at them.
"Coll! You smudged it! Lana, aren't you gonna do your feet?" Azalea asked.
"Uh, yeah. Donna, can you do my toes?" I asked. Was this really me? I suddenly saw myself for a second as a really bitchy, bossy, icy person. Wait. I am just balanced, and keeping my balance by shunning non-balanced people. If they don't want to be balanced, then fine. I am just having friends who are similar to me, aren't I?
"Lana, what COLOUR DO YOU WANT?" Donna's irritated voice pierced through my random stream of thoughts.
"Uhhh, sorry, sorry. Silver, thanks." I gabble.
Fred POV
"So, how is your dare going?" James asked me. I have been asked to spike the pumpkin juice with a WWW. I will have to sneak into Hogsmeade for that. I'm not scared of that though.
"And how about Miss Wallace? I've noticed you haven't broken up with her yet." Louis asked snidely.
"Well, well, I will. Soon. She'll probably break up with me. She's not stupid, she's probably worked it out." I replied.
"CRAP! WE'RE LATE! AWW, IT'S ALONE THIRD PERIOD THURSDAY!" James shouted in my face. He and Louis ran off.
"Oy! Weasley!" I heard a voice shout out.
"OK, Wallace, I'm coming!" Yes. It would all end here. Good. James and Louis would stop bothering me.
"So, that date we went on…" Lana said.
"Yeah…fun, right?" I answered.
"Yeah, you were better than I thought."
"Thanks!"
"I'm not stupid Weasley. I know that you had your reasons that were nothing to do with me. Newsflash: I did too. Let's end it, I'm sure that what we needed the other for was fulfilled. I'll have to tell Azalea that her plan didn't work..like it would have."
"Sure." I said. Was that.. sadness?
"Goodbye, Weasley." Lana walked off.
Wow. Sadness. For Lana Wallace. How was that possible? It shouldn't have been. The truth was that she had been almost as good a date as Soraya Finnegan.
Lana POV
I had done it. It was done. The girls could stop annoying me, and the same would go for Fre-Weasley and his idiot cousins. He was OK, and actually a lot more mature than I gave him credit for before. He wasn't such a bad guy. But he was still lazy and prank-happy. Which is childish.
What is wrong with me? Why am I even thinking about this? This shouldn't have meant anything. I went on a date for a plan, I think Weasley had similar reasons, so it's fine. No messy mess. No tears. No arguing. Simple and smooth. Good.
"Azalea. It didn't work. I think he had some kind of similar reason to me. Probably trying to prove something to his idiot cousins." I said.
"That proves it. He had no interest." Az replied.
"Yeah. Next month, can you girls set me up with someone worthy?" I asked.
"Sure. On it, L." they chorused in response.
"Oh, and Thal, can you do my toes, and Donna, fingers. Colleen, get my Poprocket sweaters to the laundry." The normal me is back. Definitely.
Fred POV
"Done." I said to James and Louis as they came back from Ancient Runes- dumb class.
"Oh, so you finally did it. How bad did it hurt, bro?" Louis teased.
"Shut up, asshole." I snapped.
"I've got to go." James said. We had potions, which Louis sucked at. James swears his eyebrow is still slightly purple.
"Aww, Loulou, it's alone fourth period Thursday." James mocked.
"Yeah, and then afterwards, me and Fred here have Arithmancy. ALONE FIFTH PERIOD THURSDAY!" Louis shouted at us as we dashed off.
"Ow!" A girl bumped into me. Or I bumped into her. Either way, mutual.
"Watch where you're going, Weasley!" she complained. It was Kira Stratton, a short, cute girl in fifth year. I remembered that she was Quentin Stratton's little sister.
"Hey." James said, forgetting all about his rush to not be late for potions. "Kira, you should totally go on a date with Freddie here. He's trying to get over a nasty breakup."
"Er, OK." Kira stuttered.
"Um, it wasn't that bad. Seriously. But how about it Kira?"
"It's a date." she said. "Laters, boys. I need to get to charms." She hurried off.
Now I could definitely forget whats-her-name Wallace.
Damn. I remembered. It's Lana.
