The darkness was pierced as the Action News 8 logo flashed across the screen. The darkness overwhelmed again until a broad man appeared behind a plastic desk. He tapped his paper against the plastic and stared at the audience. A small blue and gray strip with "Alan Forrester, Action News 8 Anchorman" covered the papers in his hand as it ran from one side to the other.

He opened his mouth and his words flowed easily: "In today's news, Mayor McNutty just passed the Marriage Proposal allowing gays and lesbians to get married," he paused for a bit as he turned the page in front of him, "but many are still unhappy with the proposal." His mouth is still open when he turned his abruptly to the left and nods quickly. "Now we turn to Kona Blumm, our field investigator, for a quick news update."

The screen cut to another image. It was a smaller woman, no older than Alan himself. She was standing in front of an angry mob holding picket signs as they chanted "McNutty is Nutty! Down with the gay hater!" As more members of the mob showed up, the finger came into the shot and signaled Kona to start talking.

She, too, spoke with ease. Her words flowed loud with a gently tone: "We're here in front of the Mayor's house waiting for him to come back out. As you can see, all the citizens around me are protesting this new proposal." She turned to the newest arrival and gently put her hand on his arm. "And you, sir, do you have anything you'd like to add about it?"

The man looked over at Kona then at the camera with an angry expression. "It's fucking stupid, if you ask me!" He yelled at first, and then spoke at a normal tone. "Does he think we will get married and then not show it because of some people's religion? So what if they don't like the gays or the lesbians! At least we are able to come home to someone loving and have a good time!"

A few other members towards the back of the crowd turned toward the male citizen and lifted their signs and shouted in unison: "Yeah!"

The man turned toward the house and shouted louder: "Bring McNutty out here! I'd like to show him how "queer" I am!"

Everyone returned back to face the house and shouted along with the interviewee. "Yeah!"

As she turned away from the crowd, Kona put her finger against her earpiece: "Well, the citizens are really getting riled up here, Alan. Maybe we should take it back to you until we have this riot under control."

The screen cut back to Alan, whom shuffled the papers on his desk. He looked up at the screen and nodded once. "Thank you, Kona," he started, "We'll be back for more news after this commercial break. Alan Forrester, signing off for now."

Beck stood up from the couch. He's tired of hearing the shit the mayor has done, so he moved over to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. He pulled out a carton of milk and placed it on the counter next to him.

The commercial turned off and Alan appeared back on the screen. "This just in! Less than an hour ago," he said with a pause, and then continued, "An explosion was heard in the tunnels of the new monorail occupying the slums of our city."

Beck looked at the TV with bread hanging from his mouth.

The man in the TV continued again: "According to police, an accidental gas leak caused construction worker James Burleson to combust and explode. The person supposedly watching the worker had been knocked out right under the pipes. Authorities are still not sure if the action was deliberate or accidental, but they are still investigating. Now, we go back to your lovely commercials!" The gentle jingle of the Action News 8 filled the room with silence following suit.

His cell phone buzzed in his pocket, and he jumped back from the counter. He spilled a little milk he was trying to pour over the counter. He put down the carton and reached for paper towels. With his one hand, he made a circling action through the spilled milk and used the other to grab the phone. As he opened the trash can to throw the towel away, he read the caller ID. 'Kell-Kell,' it said. He flipped it up, as it was a cheaper phone, but it was one that Kelly gave it on their first date.

"Beck here," he said. However, just as he finished, he heard sobs emerging from the other end of the call. "Kelly, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Kelly's voice cracked and she swallowed hard before speaking as she was sobbing. "Oh, Beck! Did you hear?! James is dead!"

Beck sighed and said: "Yes, I heard. It's a shame… But I was about call back Jay and talk to him."

Kelly cried out and sobbed harder. "Beck…" she said, pausing to try stopping herself, then continued, "that policeman is dead too, he died in a freezer of sorts… They said he was chasing a criminal and got stuck in there. I don't know, Robby... sh-should we get the others together? You know, to protect them. I will be able get Manny and Rose to meet you and me somewhere, if you want. You want to keep them safe from this... force, right..?" She paused and waited for Beck to speak. He didn't bother to, so she continued, "l-look... I don't want to die either, but make sure you protect Rose and her baby.

Beck gasped silently. He was lost for words, but he was able to spurt out a pitiful question. "What...?"

Kelly spoke instantly: "You didn't know? Yeah! She's about three months pregnant... she didn't say who the father was; I'm surprised she even had sex! Excuse me saying this, but someone as uptight as her doesn't strike me as the type to mess around with people."

Beck nodded, even though Kelly wouldn't know and said to himself: "Well, looks are deceiving..."

Kelly heard him and responded: "Yeah, well..." Behind her was indistinctive chatter. "I heard you! Alright, Robbie, I would love to talk to you more, but I need to go. See you later tonight?"

"Sure thing. Unless another fire comes up, that is." Beck said with a laugh.

Kelly, however, didn't find it amusing. "Hey, don't say that! Fires aren't jokes..." her voice trailed.

Beck sighed. "I know, I know..." he said and listened to the silence filling the conversation. "Good bye, I guess." He looked to hang up the phone, but saw the call was already ended and sighed again. He sighed and looked through his contacts. The only two people in it were Kelly and Rose, with Jay being deleted. He had the cursor over Rose's name and argued with himself. Should he call her and talk about the baby, or should he not?

"Do you love me, Becky?" Rose asked her lover. Both without their shirts; him over her in a close embrace. He smiled down at her and nodded; he leaned in slowly and gave a soft, passionate kiss. Her lips still had the lasting taste of red wine, and she couldn't hold her own no matter the drink. As he pulled away, he saw the passion in her eyes and made his way down to her neck and nibbled at it gently. She squeaked and pulled him closer. He licked up to her ear and gently licked the back of it as his hands reached around and slowly unstrapped her bra. She slid it off from between their bodies, but had nothing to hide underneath them. "I'm sorry I'm not busty like Kelly…"

"Don't worry about size," he assured as he cupped them and smiled. He slid his hands down from her breasts to her stomach and felt her twitch in pleasure or in sensitivity, he was unsure. He stopped them at her waist line, gently tugging at the top of her pants. She looked down at him and nodded. He pulled his hands together and unbuttoned her jeans; he looked up at her as he slid them down to her ankles. His eyes lit up as he saw the little bear on the middle of her underwear; the same one he got her for her birthday last year.

"Do-Don't stare so much…" She sheepishly said, moving her hands to cover up the bear. He blocked her hands and put their palms together as he interlocked their fingers. She blushed deeply and closed her legs and turned so he couldn't see her body. He used his own body and spread her legs, positioning them on the appropriate side of his. She wrapped them quickly around him and held him close. "I love you, Becky…"

"I love you too Rosy." He answered and kissed her again. This time, it was deeper and he licked her tongue. She shivered and licked back hesitantly, only to close her mouth and eyes. He moved his body away from her and pulled the two sides of his own pants together, unbuttoning it and sliding it off. She could feel him, but looked to the right and saw the side of the couch.

"Becky, take me to the bed if you want me," she said, and he did. He put his hands under her bottom and hoisted her up into his arms. She clinged to him tightly, he moved from the couch to her bedroom door and to the bed. He lowered her but stayed standing at her feet. He loved her feet as much as he loved her, and he grabbed them. He ran his thumb from the hell to the toes and smiled as she squeaked and moaned. She pushed forward and put her one foot into his face and he licked. "Ah… St-stop, that tickles~!"

He listened to her like the dog he learned to behave like and waited for the next orders to come to him. She sat up with her feet on his shoulders and him on his knees. Even though she was only in her underwear, she felt like there was nothing wrong with the scene. He loved her and she loved him; Kelly was only a third wheel on third base with Beck too. She didn't mind, as she knew how much more efficiently she can take care of him than Kelly.

She moved her left foot on to his face again and the right on to his hip. "Now, I want you to show how much more you love me than your other master. No protection, no nothing. You understand me?" She looked into his eyes through her toes and he nodded, pushing her on to her back and holding on to her knees. She blushed and grabbed the bottom of her underwear and pulled it aside. "I'm ready when you are, and don't go easy on me."

His thoughts were interrupted by the knocks at the door. He placed the phone on the counter and strolled over to the door. When he placed his eye on the peep-hole and saw the woman he knocked down at the station. He swung the door open and smiled nervously.

"Hey, sorry about what happened then…" He said, putting his hand on his neck. She shook her head and pushed her way past him.

"Just listen to me, ok? There's something you need to both hear and see," she said, as she pulled him in and shut the door before continuing, "you're not exactly the first person to have 'seen' something before it actually happened. I'm sure you've heard of the skyscraper accident that happened two years ago? Well, there was someone just like you who saw the skyscraper fall before it did and saved nine other people. Each one started dying one by one, until there was only one; that person wasn't even the one who saw it. It was his girlfriend, whom he placed in the mental hospital so she wouldn't be killed. I was going to go over there to interview her, seeing how that… one guy died just, well, today."

"Yeah…? And who are you, exactly?" he asked.

"I'm Monica O. Triggs, and you're Robert S. Beck. Everyone is listening for news and talking about you; especially the girls down in the apartments," she said with a smirk. "Let's go, I want you to meet someone else whom you saved, and whom wants to apologize for their actions that day. I bet you'll enjoy my Friend."
