Chapter 7
"I'm sorry," said the voice that filled Clara's ears. She lifted her head from the table she was laying it on and met Blake Livingston's eyes. Clara hadn't talked to Blake since the very embarrassing night in Ravenclaw tower.
"Uhhh…" Clara said raising an eyebrow and sitting up, "You're sorry for what exactly?"
Blake sat down in the seat across the table from her with a very serious look on his face. "Look Clara, I'm not exactly sure what I did to make you so mad at me but I want to say I'm sorry for whatever it is."
"I'm so confused." Clara said in a sort of laugh.
"You've been avoiding me." Blake said quietly, almost timidly.
Clara opened her mouth and closed it again. Now that she thought about it she hadn't even seen much of Blake since that night in Ravenclaw tower. But then again she also hadn't really been looking for him. Clara had been too busy with finding things out about herself and her powers. It's possible that someone could mistake her being busy for her ignoring him or her, if they had been looking for her, but Clara never really thought about it.
"I haven't been avoiding you Blake." Clara said slowly putting her head back on the table. All this running around and research with Jenny has exhausted her so much so that she could barley keep her eyes open for long periods of time anymore.
"Can you at least tell me what happened when you ran out?" Blake's voice was getting a bit desperate.
Clara had thought about tell him before, but she had been too busy to actually get a hold of him and tell him what happened. Of course it was embarrassing, but Blake was a reasonably decent guy whom she hoped wouldn't laugh at her too much. Not that it was really something she wanted to discuss with anyone, however, but she did care about the boy in front of her one way or the other so in her mind she supposed she owed him at least an explanation.
Clara lifted her head once more but wouldn't meat Blake's eyes. "I sort of, maybe, possibly, kind of, in a way-"
"Get on with it, please."
"Alright, alright. I got my period and it was very embarrassing so I left. That's really all that happened."
Blake stared at her for a few minuets before he started laughing. "That all?" he said.
Clara nodded.
Blake grabbed her hands and pulled them up to his face and kissed each knuckle. "Clara, that's completely normal and nothing to be embarrassed about."
Clara snorted, "I know it's normal for a girl, but still embarrassing to get it at that exact time. And don't even try to tell me that it isn't, because you won't change my mind about it."
Blake chuckled. "Is that the only reason you've been avoiding me? Because if it is then-"
"I haven't been avoiding you! I've just been a bit busy."
Blake raised his eyebrow. "With what?"
"Just-"
Suddenly Jenny sat down on the right of Blake and slammed a giant leather book with strange writing down on the table. Blake looked at the girl and could tell by the circles under her eyes that she had not slept in days, maybe even weeks. He expected strange behavior from Clara, but when Jenny is brought into it that means something must be wrong.
"If we can't find anything in here, then we can't find anything at all." Jenny said without looking up from the book that she was now opening. "It took me three different stores and twelve hours in this library to find this damn book so-"
"What are you two looking up?" Blake asked.
Jenny turned her head to face him with a look on her face that said she hadn't even realized he was sitting there with the two of them.
"Oh," Jenny said, "Blake. I didn't know you were here."
Blake sat back in his chair and stared suspiciously at the two girls. He was never one to mess around with other people's business, but something about the two of them made him wonder if they were going to get themselves hurt or something. Especially Clara. She was very important to him, even if he didn't exactly know why. However Blake was going to let the girls find their own way though whatever it is they were doing.
"I'm going to go and let you two go back to doing whatever it is that you're doing." Blake said as he stood from his chair, "If it's dangerous, please don't allow each other to die. If it's not dangerous and you need help you can always come to me."
Blake kissed Jenny on the top of the head and walked around the table to Clara. He grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him as he said, "Please be careful," then he kissed her lips letting his linger for a few seconds and left the girls sitting there with their giant book.
As he walked out of the library, Blake couldn't help but let his mind wonder through the memories he had with Clara and Jenny.
"Jen Jen, what do you think would happen if I let a dragon loose in the school?"
This sentence caused Blake to stop short as he was walking down the corridor of Hogwarts Express and put his ear to the glass door he was standing in front of. The voice he had heard must have been that of an angel, but what sort of angel would set a dragon loose in the school?
Then there was another voice. "You'd get expelled."
This voice was great as well. Silky smooth while rough all at once; so casual and so beautiful. Whoever these girls were Blake had to hear their voices more.
The first girl snorted. "Well I mean other than that. Do you think Dumbledore would ride it?"
Blake had to cover his mouth to keep from laughing too loud. The fact that anyone would think Dumbledore would ride a dragon was reason enough to want to get to know them.
"No I do not think Dumbledore would ride a dragon if you let it loose in the school. In fact I think Dumbledore might kill it."
"He wouldn't kill a dragon. He's far too kind for that."
The second girl started to say something when the door swung open making Blake fall into the compartment flat on his face. He quickly composed himself and stood in front of the two girls who were now staring at him in wonder. The first one he noticed was the one on the left side of him with eyes as black as her short hair. She seemed to be holding a large book in her hands with a bookmark, that greatly resembles her Slytherin tie, sticking out of it. She also seemed very unhappy that Blake had interrupted their conversation.
"Hello there," said the one on the right of him.
As soon as Blake saw her his heart started beating faster, which was something that never happened to him before. With her long hair and bright blue eyes that looked like they were staring into his soul, she was obviously beautiful. But it was a different kind of beauty, one that didn't know its full potential. She was also wearing a Slytherin tie.
"Erm…" Blake said quietly still looking between the girls. "Sorry… I'll just, uh, go and…"
And with that Blake, in all his glory, turned from the girls and walked out of the compartment.
Three days later Blake saw those two girls again. It was maybe two or three o'clock in the morning and Blake decided he wanted a snack form the kitchens. As he was walking alone down the corridors, he froze when he heard whispers. Blake peeked around the corner he was about to turn and saw the two girls from the train having a very low very heavy conversation filled with glares and harsh whispers.
Suddenly the blue-eyed girl turned his way and they locked eyes for a brief moment before she turned back to her friend and said something. The other girl turned his way but Blake's head was already back around the corner holding his breath and waiting for the two girls to come yell at him.
He waited…and waited…and waited… and when he poked his head back around the girls were gone.
"What's on your mind, babe?" Sarah asked in the dark of the broom closet. Blake couldn't stop thinking about those bright blue eyes no matter what. He even tried to burry the images behind other girls.
"Nothing," Blake said.
As he went to put his lips back on hers, however, the door to the broom closet opened widely and the blue-eyed girl grabbed Blake's arm ad pulled him away. She dragged him down the hall ignoring the protests of the girl he was just with and also ignoring Blake's questions.
Finally she stopped in front of an empty classroom and pushed him inside. When she closed the door she turned to Blake with a very serious look on her face.
"You've been following me and my friend." She said in a-matter-of-fact voice.
"I haven't been following you," Blake defended, "Last night I was heading to the kitchen and you and your friend just happened to be in the middle of the hall having a chat. I didn't want to interrupt is all."
The girl raised her eyebrow but kept quiet.
"Oi, what's your name anyhow?"
"Clara Hathaway. Yours?"
"Blake Livingston."
"Nice to meet you."
"Same to you."
The two of them kept quiet and just stared at each other, neither daring to move or speak. They both used this time of silence to check out the other one. Blake could feel Clara's eyes roam all over his body stopping at his arms, chest, and thighs. He had never wanted a girls eyes on him more in his life than in that moment.
"So," Clara said taking a step forward, "What were you doing outside of my compartment on the train if not stalking me?"
"I uh," Blake said also taking a step forward, not exactly knowing what he was doing, "I heard and interesting question and needed to hear an interesting answer."
Clara took another step closer and Blake did the same making them so close that they could feel the breath of the other. "So you were eavesdropping then?"
"Maybe…" Blake whispered.
Clara looked into Blake's eyes gently raised her hand to the back of his neck while he carefully placed his on her hips. The closer they moved the warmer the room they were in became. Everything inside of him was begging for her lips to be on his… for her tongue to tangle itself around his… for their clothes to completely disappear and for his end to be her beginning.
Without another moment's hesitation, Blake smashed his lips to hers and she pulled him in close. Their tongues danced and roamed each other's mouths while his hands roamed her body.
The kiss was sexual and heavy, but it didn't last for very long. Clara pulled back gasping for air and looked into Blake's lust filled eyes. He was panting heavily and licking his lips.
"Sorry," she said looking away from him and turning to walk out the door.
"No need to be…" Blake said after her.
That was not the last time they saw each other. Eventually Clara and Blake ran into each other again in the Astronomy tower, and then again in the Hospital wing, and even again in Ravenclaw tower. They had agreed of the obvious attraction between the two of them and also agreed that they didn't want to be a couple, so they made rules for one another.
They wouldn't get jealous if the other was with someone else.
If one of them found a significant other, it was up to that person to choose whether or not they would continue the way that they are.
Unless the other is busy or in some cases exhausted, then each time one comes to the other and asks for something the other must drop what they're doing and come along.
And finally, feelings and emotions were to never get in the way.
Blake loved the system he had with his new friend. However over the next few months he developed certain sensitivity about her. One that he still has to this day. He even befriended Jenny and the three of them became very close.
As Blake thought about Clara he couldn't help but think about the Hogsmead trip tomorrow. It was going to be one to remember.
~Running~
"So tomorrow we're going to need to get peacock feathers, pickled slugs, peppermint, doxy eggs, moonstone, nightshade, and an eye of newt. Is there anything else we need, Wormy?" Sirius read down the list of ingredients the boys had written that morning while going over the book Peter had.
Peter opened the book to the pages he had marked down and read silently. "It says we may need ginger depending on which animal we want to turn into. Speaking of which, what are we planning to turn into?"
James who had been planning a game of exploding snap with Remus looked at Peter and said, "Wolves. That way Moony won't hate us on sight."
Peter nodded and read further. "Wolves… yeah we're going to need ginger."
"Can you really pick the animals?" Remus asked distributing the cards between him and James again. "I mean I thought you turn into whatever your Patronus is."
"It says here that if you're talented enough you can pick the animal, but if you don't do it exactly right the animal picks you. You know sort of like wands, I guess. Anyway, if that happens it's usually your Patronus because apparently that's the animal that represents your soul."
Sirius grinned. "I swear if I turn into a dog I'm going to pee on everything in the castle."
James barked out a laugh. "I can just see it now; Sirius running around school humping all the girls legs and licking their faces. Priceless."
Remus shook his head. "I still think this is a bad idea."
"Oh you always think everything fun is a bad idea," Sirius said as he threw a pillow at Remus.
"Hey what are we going to tell Frank and Dean? About the potion I mean." Peter asked.
"Something along the lines of, 'We're making our own love potion,' or, 'It's part of a new Prank we're going to pull.' Something like that I- fuck!" James yelled as his cards exploded and singed his fingers.
"Mate you suck at snap," Sirius laughed.
James scowled at his friend. "Oi, you haven't won a game against Moony either, have you?"
"Ah but that isn't the point now is it, my good man? The point is that even though I may not have won any games against our friend there I have, in fact, won several games against you."
"I've won some too!"
"Only the ones I let you win."
"Why the hell would you let me win?"
"Because I love you, Prongsy."
"Oh, Pads! Why didn't you say so earlier?"
"Weirdoes," Remus said as he put the cards back into his deck.
Peter closed his book and set it back inside of his trunk. "Speaking of weird things, has anyone seem Clara lately?"
The other three boys were silent. They had, in fact, not seem any of their friend since the Hospital wing. However, they hadn't really been looking. James and Sirius wanted to go find her and ask if she was okay after everything that happened that night, but Remus had forbade them from going. He said that she needed her pace and if she wanted to, Clara would find them. However she hadn't found them. She hadn't even been looking for them.
"That girl has more moods on her than a bipolar polar bear." Sirius mumbled lying back on his bed and closing his eyes.
"I kind of like her that way," Remus said quietly.
James laughed. "Mate, you just want in her pants again."
"What?" Sirius said snapping back up. "When did you get into her pants? How did you get into her pant? Why have you not told me before this?"
Remus rolled his eyes. "I have not been into her pants, Sirius. James is just having weird dreams again."
"Mind you," Peter said quietly, "Imagine actually being inside her pants."
James smirked. "Got a crush, Pete?"
Peter blushed and shook his head. "Not a crush really… it's just her and Ryals are very attractive. Totally wank worthy."
"Peter!" Remus exclaimed.
"No, Moons," Sirius smirked, "He's absolutely right. Clara and Ryals are wank worthy. Just imagine one of them naked and on top of you riding your cock so hard that-"
"Oi!" James snapped, "That's my little sister you're talking about there so watch it."
Sirius rolled his eyes. "She's not actually your sister, Prongs. If she was you know I wouldn't dare to have these thoughts, but even you have to admit if she wasn't our good friend you want to hit that."
James held his head high. "I'm a one woman man, Padfoot."
"Yeah and that one woman hates you," Remus laughed. James glared at him and hit him with a pillow.
"She'll love me one day!"
"Whatever you- hang on a minuet," Remus said turning back to Peter and Sirius, "Have the two of you wanked to the girls?"
Sirius flashed a wolfish grin while Peter looked down at his hands.
"Last night in fact," Sirius said.
"Mate!" James exclaimed.
"What'd you imagine?" Peter asked in excitement.
Remus covered his ears. "I don't need to hear this."
Sirius turned to Peter and said, "It started off with Clara and Ryals coming to my bed late at night. Both of them were dressed in Quidditch jerseys and they didn't have anything underneath. First they started kissing each other, and then they started kissing me all over my body. They kept getting lower and lower until the got to my cock where they both started licking and sucking and playing with my-"
"Stop!" James groaned in disgust.
"Don't tell me you haven't been thinking about it," Sirius smirked.
"I haven't!" James yelled.
Peter chuckled a bit. "Well we all know you haven't, considering you call Clara your sister and that'd be a bit too weird, even for you."
"But, Moony," Sirius smiled, "You mean to tell me you haven't even thought of either of the girls in that way?"
Remus remained silent and avoided eye contact with the other three. Peter and Sirius laughed while James made displeasing sounds.
"Dogs," James said as he headed to his own bed, "You're all dogs. Don't even know why I'm friends with you lot."
"Night prongs," Sirius said as he too settled beneath his comforter, "If you hear moans from my bed tonight it'll be your baby sister letting me pound into her."
James gaged and buried his head in all of his pillows.
~Running~
Voldemort stared out a window thinking about the only person in the world more powerful than he is. Well, that is, if you can call her a girl. How could someone like her even be considered a human being? She wasn't like Mudbloods and Bloodtraitors, she was actually non-human. There was a reason her kind were hunted all those years ago… something like that just cannot exist in this world. In his world. She must be destroyed, but first he was going to get her powers. Maybe someone like her could become unstable at any second, but he could control the powers without effort of any kind. He would need these powers if he was going to win this war.
Voldemort chuckled to himself. A Necromancer. A real living Necromancer, and he had found her before Dumbledore even with her in his school. Necromancers are the most powerful witches and wizards in existence. Not only can they bring back the dead but if they come in contact with any other kind of power, the can duplicate it and make it their own. Seventeen years ago they were hunted because Cassandra Halbart had killed a small child and brought it back to life and experimented on it for months before the parents found the remains. Of course the village had not taken that one very well and burned her alive at the stake. They hunted all seven of her sisters down and killed all of them… Well all except one.
The youngest had escaped and fled with her unborn child. What had become of the girl, Voldemort did not know, but he did know what had become of her child. Her daughter. And now he was going to use the girl to rid the Wizarding world of all the filth and scum that were allowed to walk the streets. He was going to obviate all those disgusting Mudbloods and anyone who got in his way.
He just needed the girl.
Okay so here's the chapter I promised. It wasn't exactly finished but I promised I'd have it up for you today so there you have it!
In the original I was going to put Necromancer information in the book that Jenny had found, but I could not for the life of me remember what I wrote. So I just added it into the story. I hope that was okay.
Anyway tell me what you though of this chapter and what you think should be in the next chapter. The next chapter will have the Hogsmead trip where someone may or may not succeed in kidnapping our beloved Clara.
Thank you ever so much for reading! And sorry once more for the wait!
