Yes, I live. Finally wrote another one. Go me. And this one I've been trying to get out for months. Anyways, I've got one or two others in the works, at least one of them will feature some new favorite characters of mine from a little show called 'Newsies'. What can I say, I'm a sucker for multiverse... read, review, enjoy -NCIS

Sarah sighed as she watched the Doctor and Harry argue over the proper way to cast whatever charm it was that the Doctor had wanted to practice. In the middle of the night. In the dungeons. Why he didn't want to use the Room of Requirement was beyond her, but this was the Doctor and when he wasn't annoying Harry or causing trouble he was being as clear as proverbial mud.

So she left them to their argument and decided to try a spell she'd read about (and been trying to produce for months), the Patronus Charm. She might never face a Dementor, and the spell was incredibly complex to perform, but she figured she was up for the challenge. Besides, she was curious as to what her corporeal patronus would be.

Moving away from the arguing pair, she thought about what happy memory to use and what came to mind was meeting the Doctor and Harry on the train first year. She let out a small smile at the memory, because it had been odd, slightly mental and the most wonderful thing to ever happen.

Raising her wand she quietly says 'Expecto Patronum', but barely gets a spark. Not powerful enough then. Sighing she tried to dredge up something else, then she hits on Quidditch tryouts 3rd year, she'd gone from reserve to full time because of a particularly spectacular save that resulted in a goal. Not to mention she'd nearly made several jaws fall off and as Harry claimed, the Doctor had actually dropped his precious jelly babies. THE WHOLE BAG. It had been worth seeing his face afterwards, just for the shock he had at losing his candy.

Trying again, with a bit more of a wand flourish now that she's feeling a bit more confident with the spell, she actually manages to conjure a bit of a wisp of something.

"Come on Smith, you can do this." She mutters to herself, digging deep for a memory. Then she finds something, she's not even quite sure what it is or if its really a memory at all, but it feels like it would be powerful enough to produce a patronus.

Confidently she waves her wand and says the spell again, producing a Jack Russell Terrier. And Sarah can't help but smile at the little dog, it's quite fitting.

When the dog lets out a few yips, Harry and the Doctor's argument stops and they watch the dog run around the room for a little before Harry speaks up.

"Sarah is that…?"

"Yes, he's mine." She replies, following the dog around the room with her eyes.

"How long have you been working on that?" The Doctor asks, watching Sarah now.

"Months… read about it somewhere, decided well, why not. Seems useful to be able to do…" Sarah replies with a shrug, turning to the Doctor. "Why? Want me to teach you?" She teases, with a wide grin.

"It would be an honor Sarah." The Doctor returns her grin with his usual toothy madman grin.

"Harry?" She asks, looking over at him, as he watches the Jack Russel play.

"If I said no you two would just goad me into it anyways, so yes." Harry shrugs, earning himself a glare from Sarah and a hit to the shoulder from the Doctor.

"We're not that bad."

"Yes you are Doctor." Harry shoots back, then turns his attention back to Sarah. "And I admit, I would rather like to know what my patronus is. Not to mention his." He nods over at the Doctor, who's now pouting.

"Okay, but we're doing this at a sensible hour in the Room of Requirement. We don't all have your energy or sleeping habits." Sarah shoots her best friend a look.

"What? Sleep is for tortoises. And the weak." The Doctor replies, earning himself twin eye rolls and sighs. Ignoring them both he leaves, only pausing a moment to look over his shoulder and raise his eye brow. "Coming?"

"Harry, remind me to slap him in the morning."

"Scouts honor Sarah."

And they follow him out of the room, lightly bantering about uses for the Doctor's scarf.
