Yes, hello. Its been a while... and if you've been following me on tumblr, you know that the last few months I've become a bit obsessed with the now closed Broadway show, Newsies. So I had to include them in this... I mean hello, multi fandom. Anyways, I'll try to get another one out soon. Also, if you have a better idea for a title please let me know... Ace elected to ignore the bickering 6th years just behind her, partly because they were annoyingly loud, partly because two of them were prefects. And she did not need to get busted with her homemade explosive, the Zonko's products Sarah had given her and the thing Harry had given to her to keep away from the Doctor. All of which she was certain would land her in detention for a week.
But once she heard the words 'prank' and 'In the Great Hall' she stopped dead in her tracks and turned to face them. "Should I be worried or is this one of those first year pranks that are all bang and no substance?"
The bickering trio stopped talking and stared at her for a moment before the Gryffindor prefect spoke up. "Hypothetically of course, it might involve silly string, the Bat-Bogey hex and a decently sized group of first through sixth years who are either hopped up on too much sugar or are kind of insane to begin with." The Ravenclaw boy looked a tad offended, then pulled a face and nodded his agreement when the Gryffindor girl looked at him.
Ace was confused for a moment before her brain made the connection, the Newsies. Of course, that should've been her first clue, they were a ragtag bunch for sure, but they could raise hell when they wanted. The only thing no one could figure out was why they'd chosen that name for the group, but there were bigger mysteries at Hogwarts than that.
"Oh… okay. So we're talking slightly less destructive than me, about as annoying as one of the Professor's potions experiments and minor league compared to Lane." Ace stated, before realizing that she'd just told them about the slightly less well known fact that Sarah was one of the biggest pranksters in the school. Unknowingly of course, but enough people knew about her nickname for Sarah that if you had half a brain you could figure it out.
"Relax, I know. Its not exactly a secret in Gryffindor Tower." The Gryffindor offers her hand. "Katherine Plumber."
"Ace McShane." Ace took Katherine's hand and shook it. After she relaxed her grip she pointed at the Ravenclaw. "So you're Jack Kelly and that makes my fellow 'puff Davey Jacobs. Don't see a heck of alot of you around the common room."
"Try being friends with these two and the Newsies." He deadpans, earning a glare from Jack and a smack in the arm from Katherine. "Ow."
"I think I've got you beat when I know the Doctor." Ace shrugs. "If its not something in the middle of the night, its something weird in potions or charms."
Jack looks between Ace and Davey. "We'll call it a tie."
"Fair enough, now how about I help you guys make that prank a little more, interesting." Ace pulls out her best trouble maker grin, knowing that even in the presence of two prefects, today is not going to be a boring day.
"Bring it on McShane." Katherine returns the grin with a wicked one of her own.
Oh yes, this is going to be a day and a prank to remember… they'll be talking about it for months.
