Chapter 2

Within a weeks timethe entire fire navy, water tribe, and earth kingdom were mounted toward finding Katara.

Aang flew south following the currents, stopping at every village near water to ask if they had seen her. Earth King Kuei had artist renderings done of her to show when we asked, it was all Aang had. He missed her, he longed to embrace her, to kiss her gentle lips, to tell her finally with no doubt in his mind that he loved her. Toph kept him sane, after 1 week he was a wreck. After every village with no sign of her he would cry, tears streaming down his face, quiet sobs wracking his body. Toph was there with a comforting hand on his shoulder and even once a loving embrace. They barely spoke, Aang was too torn apart to speak most of the time, and Toph for once didn't know what to say.

The water tribe with Hakoda and Sokka taking seperate ships went seperate ships. Sokka with the smaller fleet went north, aquiring help from the northern water tribe scoured the northern waters before slowly heading south. Hakoda started south and cleared every inch of water before the water tribe waters before slowly heading north.

The Earth kingdom armies searched the land. Following rivers inland and asking every villager on their way.

Zuko and Iroh split the fleet. Zuko took 5 ships including his own and searched every earth earth kingdom port, and the closest 4 villages to it, starting North and working south. Iroh cleared every Fire nation island and headed to open water, with the given order to seperate to a mile between ships, there wasnt a part of the ocean that wasnt being watched.

After a week of searching, supplies were low and the fire navy except for Zuko's ship all had to return home. Sokka and Hakoda met back up and continued to search with whatever ships and men wanted to stay. Aang dropped Toph off at her metal bending school, with much arguing from Toph. She eventually agreed to stay.

"If Katara made it to land safely and goes about finding any of us, no one will be where we are supposed to be." Aang's voice cracked as he held back the tears, he had given up. After 3 weeks and no one had seen hide nor hair of her, he had to accept that she was gone. He wanted to be alone.

"Aang." Toph spoke up, her normal booming voice gone with a much gentler one in its place. "Don't do this to yourself. Don't go through this alone. Please, Aang." Her plea fell on deaf ears.

"Goodbye Toph. I'll see ya later." A quiet sob escaping him, "yip yip"

Aapa roared and took off South into the setting sun.

Toph let out an exasperated sigh, "Where are you?"
