Diddy: I still don't think I should be here!
Sonic: Why not?
Diddy: Because...the author already killed me off!
Sheik: Well, it's a fanfiction. Just be glad you're in this one and not in THAT fanfic.
Fox: Which one?
Mario: You know which one...this archive was full of commentaries on it.
Fox: Oh...you mean THAT fanfiction.
Diddy: Uh...in that case, I'll shut up, now.
It was the afternoon, the forest's inhabitants has managed to calm down. Along with that, the sun began to show itself, pouring light on everything it touches, which included the forest.
Within the forest were the Smashers, though the forest wasn't as hectic after their departure with Luigi and Falco. Sheik carried Diddy by the tail, Mario and Sonic were telling each other jokes, Fox was playing a Nintendo 3DS, and all Diddy could do was stare at Sheik.
"OK! OK! Here's a joke Yoshi told me, the other day," Mario said as he tried to contain his laugh. Sonic's ears perked upwards.
"OK, so have you heard of this new movie? It's called 'Constipation'."
"Er..." Sonic became puzzled. "No...why?"
"Because it hasn't come out, yet!"
The duo suddenly began bursting into laughter. Mario looked like he was crying while Sonic was holding his sides. Fox shook his head, looking at the duo. "Real mature, guys!"
"Well, we don't see you coming up with anything!" Sonic remarked. Fox looked back at the hedgehog. "All right, then. Why does Ganondorf hate the internet?"
"Too many Links," Mario said with a groan. Sonic rolled his eyes. "We sure haven't heard that one, before."
"Would you guys, knock it off? We need to be serious, here!" Sheik scolded, "After all, this is a fanfiction."
"Why is everyone suddenly breaking the Fourth wall?" Diddy asked. Mario shrugged. "I question if it ever existed to begin with."
Sheik looked down at Diddy with a cold look in her eyes, "So...are you ready to tell us what happened?" she asked, sternly.
Diddy said nothing. The Sheikah began to grow impatient, she stopped walking and began to tap her foot. "Come on, Diddy. We know you can talk, so you may as well tell us what happened."
"Well, er..." Diddy began to look nervous. "I don't remember much, I don't think I'll be that useful."
"Well, could you at least tell us what you can remember?" Sonic asked with an encouraging tone in his voice. Diddy looked around at the other Smashers, It didn't look like they were going to let him go, anytime soon...then again, these guys were looking for Kira. Without any choice, the monkey began to talk.
"OK, well...The first thing I woke up to was to some sort of head pain. I recall that I was in the Smash Mansion instead of back home on Kongo Bongo."
"Huh...so who revived you?" Sonic asked. Fox was still playing his 3DS. Looking slightly annoyed at the Fox, Mario took the 3DS from the vulpine and stored it in his pocket. Fox stared into his paws as though he was still playing a game, though his fingers weren't moving.
Diddy chuckled, nervously. "W-well...I don't remember who it was, but he just sort of ran away without warning."
"Huh...so coold you tell us what happened between you and Kira?" Sheik asked, crossing her arms. "Pit said something about you betraying her. Is this true?"
"You could say that." Diddy said, nodding. "I recall having to try to fight Kira with someone by my side...but that's not important. On the roof, there's this rainbow-looking crystal she uses to make herself more powerful. In a way, it's a bit like a Smash Ball."
"Huh...so that's why Master Hand wanted us to destroy that thing," Sonic thought to himself. "If only he had told us, earlier."
"So, what happened after that?" Mario asked.
"She sort of killed me off," Diddy said. "After that, I found Mario in the forest."
"Is this true? Is that all you can remember?" Sheik asked, placing a hand on her hip. Diddy nodded. "That's about it...but I don't remember else, I swear."
Sheik looked down at the monkey, he looked rather sincere about what he's saying. Not having any other thoughts, she placed Diddy down onto the ground. The monkey looked up at the Sheikah, confused.
"Well? You can walk, can't you?" Sheik asked. "Just try and keep up with us, OK?"
"You mean I still have to come with you guys?" Diddy whined.
"Well...do you see Donkey, anywhere?" Sheik asked. Diddy nodded slowly, "Good point."
"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll have something good happen to us on our adventure," Fox said. "Just think of it this way, not only are you trying to save your friends, you're helping us save an entire world."
"Well...OK, then I guess I'll stay for a bit longer," Diddy said as he came up to Fox's side. Mario began to whisper in Sonic's ear. "Now if only we knew where Link was. He could probably make Zelda less strict."
"I heard that!" Sheik grumbled. The Plumber was snickering while Sonic just rolled his eyes. "Keep this up and she'll kick your butt over to next year."
Mario stopped laughing, he faced Sheik, who looked like she was going to murder something. Frightened, Mario looked down at his feet, afraid of what Sheik would do.
Meanwhile, back in the Smash Mansion, Kira was playing with a Kirby doll and a Pit doll, not minding about what others were doing within the mansion.
"I'm going to beat you, Kirby!"
"Not if I beat you first!"
"You're not beating anyone, Pit," Kira said, dropping the Kirby doll and picking up the Palutena doll. "You still have to go after Medusa and stop her from taking over Skyworld."
"Aw, do I have to?"
"...Ms. Kira?"
"BWAH!" Kira jumped out of her spot, looking behind her. There was what looked like a human child. He wore a red shirt and black shorts. His hair was brown and his nose was red.
"Er...please don't say anything," Kira said, blushing. The boy nodded in understanding. Kira sighed. "All right, so you're one of the Villagers...you're Sam, right?"
"It's Scott, actually." Said the boy. "Sam's the sleepy-looking one."
"Right, well. what kind of news do you have?" Kira asked, impatiently. Scott thought for a moment. "Well, the good news is we captured a Mii Fighter."
"All right," Kira said, "Is it Masahiro Sakurai?"
Scott shook his head? This made Kira sigh, "All right...well, is it Satoru Iwata?"
Again, Scott shook his head. "Not him, either.
"Well? What about Reggie or Miyamoto? Is it any of those two?"
Again, Scott shook his head. "We couldn't find those guys, they were too strong."
"Well...I guess any Mii is better then no Mii," Kira said with a sigh, "And the bad news?"
"Well," Scott looked down at his feet. "Those guys managed to take back Luigi and Falco...not only that, they've revived Diddy."
"Well, in that case, here's what I want you to do," Kira said, placing a hand on Scott's shoulder, "Tell those aliens and that dog to get into the teleporter room and start searching for them. And if that doesn't work, I want you to take your friends and team up with the Koopalings."
Scott groaned in annoyance. "But I non of us like the Koopalings...except maybe Junior or Lemmy."
"What's that? You'd rather be dead then to team up with those helpless turtles?"
Scott released a dejected sigh. "We'll try and talk things over."
"Good boy, Stan," Kira said, patting Scott on the head. The Villager dragged his feet out of the room, not saying another word. Kira looked back at her toys, she began to play with them, again. She picked up the Pit doll. "Don't worry, Palutena...you can leave it to me~!"
The Smashers continued their way through the forest, though they've noticed less and less trees were towering above them. In fact, the grass was starting to appear longer. Rocks and flowers could be seen from each other.
"So, where are we, now?" Sonic asked. Mario began to raise an eyebrow. "You know, I think we're almost near the plains."
"Awesome, I was getting kinda sick of the forest," Fox said to no one in particular.
Sheik nodded. "Yeah, and the plus side is that it'll be harder for enemies to hide from us."
"Well, what are we gonna bump into?" Mario asked. "Nobody's stupid enough to hide in this place."
"Careful what you wish for," Sonic warned, "You never know, we might just find Pichu, out here."
"Or maybe Little Mac."
"Mac's not that short," Sheik said, "He's taller then Mario is."
"Don't remind me," Mario growled in annoyance. Oh how he wished that this day was over.
Sonic patted Mario on his back, "Well, if we were back in Mobius or the Mushroom Kingdom, I'd be even shorter then Diddy is.."
"But you're a hedgehog," Mario argued, "Hedgehogs are supposed to be short."
Again, Sonic shrugged. "All right, fine...don't say I didn't try."
As they began to make their way through the plains, Sheik saw something through the corner of her eye. When she turned her head, it wasn't there. She could've sworn she saw a blue carrot.
Maybe her mind was playing tricks on her? If that was the case, then she hoped that it was the case.
What the Smashers didn't know was that they were being followed by small plant-like creatures, each owning a certain color. A red plant called out to its fellow brethren as they quickly began running through the grass, trying to keep up with them.
Mario: ...Really productive chapter, you guys...Great job!
Sonic: Whatever you say, Mr. Sarcastic!
