Fox: So...who's up for another chapter?

Zelda: That depends...what's going on, this time?

Fox: Well, uh...I don't know.

Diddy: Let's just keep going!

...By the way, is this author's note really necessary?

The plains were silent, there was plenty of grass as well as flowers spreading through the fields. In the distance, the sun began to set. The birds were flying away in the distance. The Smashers continued to move on through their adventure, most of them seemed content on their leisurely stroll.

Sheik transformed back into Zelda, the Hylian looked down at Mario. "I've noticed that there are a lot of big ladybugs, here. Do you think it's weird?"

"I don't think those are ladybugs," Mario said, shaking his head.

"Hm? Then what are those things?" Sonic asked. Mario blinked a few times before smiling, "Just look at them very closely."

The group looked down at the ground, these weren't giant ladybugs, at all. They were Dwarf Bulborbs. The small creatures were searching for food in the grass, sniffing the ground for something edible.

"Huh...they're actually kind of cute when they're not trying to eat you," Sonic commented. One of the Bulborbs began to walk up to the Smashers, unnoticed. The small creature opened its mouth and chomped on Fox's tail.

"YOWCH!" The vulpine exclaimed as he lifted his tail. He glared at Sonic. "You were saying?"

The group looked at Sonic, who only replied with a shrug. "I guess he thought you were edible."

Fox rolled his eyes. "Is this fanfiction over, yet?"

"Not even close," Mario said with a cold expression. Fox sighed. "Great..."

"Hey, we may as well enjoy this place, while we can," Zelda said as she clasped her hands, together. "Besides, it looks so peaceful, here."

Sonic began to think, he looked up at the sky, which had turned orange with hues of purple. "Hey, Zel...you think we'll be able to set up camp, here?"

"Hm?" Zelda turned head to face Sonic. "Oh, sure. We're all gonna need to relax after going through that forest"

Sonic smiled. As much as he loved running around, he loved the peaceful atmosphere of the plains. Maybe a bit of relaxation would be a bit more refreshing...and it certainly beats being in a boat surrounded by water, that he knew, for sure.

The sun has finally set in the World of Trophies, the group decided to make a campsite, which was surrounded by rocks. Mario was setting up the tent with Fox while Diddy and Zelda were starting a fire. Sonic seemed to have left the area to search for any firewood.

"OK, let's try this, again," Mario said, placing tarp onto the ground. He pulled out a piece of paper, afterwards, "It says, here, that we need to lay the tent onto the ground."

Fox nodded as he did what the instructions said. "OK, now what?"

"It says here that we need to connect the tent poles." Mario replied. Fox nodded and began to connect the poles, one by one. "Now what?"

"Insert the tent poles into the corresponding flaps into the tent."

Fox raised an eyebrow at Mario. "Uh...what was that?"

"Try making an 'X' out of them," Mario replied. Fox blinked a few times. "Oh..."

So Fox did as he was told, making an X out of the poles. Mario began to read the instructions, again. "Now we need to raise the tent."

"All right, so you grab one side while I grab the other." Fox said. Mario nodded and grabbed a rope while Fox grabbed another rope. The duo counted to three before yanking the ropes. However, this caused the tent to fall apart. The plumber and the vulpine stood there in awkward silence.

"...We have to do this again, don't we?"

"Yep..."

Meanwhile, Diddy and Zelda were still trying to light a fire. Diddy was trying to rub two sticks together. "C'mon, why isn't it working!?"

"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Zelda asked. Diddy looked up at the Hylian and nodded. "I've seen DK do this, plenty of times."

"You know...if you need my help, you could just let me know," Zelda said, looking down at the monkey. Diddy tried rubbing the sticks as fast as he could, trying to light them up. However, his arms grew tired and he practically threw the sticks onto the ground. "All right...please help me out."

"Hm...well you did say 'please'," Zelda teased. A small fire appeared on the tip of her finger, she allowed the fire to drop onto the sticks. Diddy stared at the fire, astonished. "...OK, I guess that works..."

"I'm back you guys," Sonic said as he arrived with firewood in his arms. The first thing he noticed was that Mario and Fox were still struggling with holding the tent up. The hedgehog's ears flopped downwards. "Uh...is the tent fighting back or somethin'?

"Beats me," Diddy said with a shrug. Zelda pulled out a bag of marshmallows. "Do you want one?"

"No thanks," Sonic said, politely, "maybe later."

"Suit yourself," Zelda said as she pulled out a marshmallow and placed it on a stick. Diddy grabbed three marshmallows from the bag and started eating them. "What, now?"

"Hm..." Sonic began to think. "Well, we could come up with something, later. Let's just relax, for right now."

After Mario and Fox successfully fixed the tent, the group was sitting around the fire. Sonic was sitting beside a rock, Mario was roasting marshmallows, Zelda was playing the harp, Fox was playing his 3DS, and Diddy was watching Fox play his game.

Mario turned his head to face Zelda. "Hey...I have a quick question?"

Zelda stopped playing her harp, tilting her head. "What is it?"

"Have you heard of the 'Goddess's Ballad' or whatever it's called?"

"You mean Ballad of the goddess?" Zelda asked. "Yes, why?"

"Well...you can play the harp...so do you wanna play the Song backwards?"

"Why would I want to do that?" Zelda argued.

"Well, it's just something I wanted to hear," Mario said, "so could you do it?"

"OK, fine," Zelda said as she began to slowly pluck at the strings on her harp. After playing six notes, the princess felt that her mind has been blown. Looking at the rest of her group, the animal Smashers stared at her with wide eyes.

Zelda looked down at Mario with her eyelids lowered. "How did you know about this?"

"I used the internet," Mario said with a shrug.

"OK, the fourth wall breaking is getting a little out of hand," Zelda grumbled, "do you think maybe we should tone it town a bit?"

"What Fourth wall?" Sonic asked, "I didn't know there was one to begin with."

Zelda shook her head as her hand met her face "You know what? After this we need a stronger fourth wall."

"Well, it worked out with Cranky," Diddy stated, "Though I'm not sure if it'll work with anyone else."

Fox suddenly looked up from his game, "By the way, since we're on the subject. Do you think the author got attacked?"

The group thought about it before Mario shook his head. "Eh...I'm sure she's fine."

The group has finally fallen asleep. It seemed like Sonic was the only one outside his tent, tonight. He was lightly snoring, unphased by anything going on around him.

The group of plants peaked at the campsite, this time they brought a duck with them. Feeling uneasy, a red plant began to shiver.

(A-are you sure we should be doing this?) asked the red Plant. A blue plant patted its back. (Well, our captains did say we need to lure these guys out to us. And we can't disobey our captains...right, Steve?)

(I'm not Steve, that guy is) The red plant replied, pointing to another red plant holding a flame thrower.

A White Plant looked up at the other two plants (Listen, I know we're supposed to lure them out to our captains, but they don't act like our captains, anymore).

The duck quacked, gaining the attention of the Plants. Like the Plants, the duck felt reluctant, but there really wasn't anything she could do. She bobbed her head to the direction of the campsite as she began grabbing the bag of marshmallows. The plants, however, began to sneak into the tent. They pulled out as much stuff as they could, avoiding any attention that the Smashers would give them.

(So...when do you want me to shoot this thing?) Steve asked.

(Put it away, we don't need it!) a yellow plant yelled, earning a dejected sigh from Steve.
