Chapter 9: Big Problem

Renesmee's POV

What have I done?! How could I just...? Why would...?

I couldn't even form a coherent thought.

"Nessie, can you come with us?" Carlisle asked in a way that sounded like I didn't have a choice in the matter.

My throat constricted tightly preventing any speech so I just nodded.

Carlisle just gently guided me out of the hospital. The compassion and kindness seemed to radiate out of him; it made me feel worse. I didn't deserve kindness, not after what I did. Sure it was only a couple of bloodbags, but I still drank human blood. That was absolutely forbidden in my family, I broke our number one ruke. How can they just be so calm about this? I deserved to be screamed at. I deserved to be told that I am a vile, repulsive person.

I suddenly felt myself being yanked backwards. My father forced me to look at him.

"Nessie, I never want to hear you even think those things about yourself ever again" dad stated firmly.

"But it's true dad. It's all true!" I shouted.

"No it's not" dad said.

"Will one of you care to enlighten us about what you're talking about?" mom asked.

"I would also like to know about this silent conversation you two are having" Carlisle said.

"We'll explain later" dad said.

"Does my family know where I'm at?" I asked.

"I already asked you're parents if you can come with us. I told them you would be bored if you stayed all day. They're okay with it" Carlisle said.

"Thanks" I said.

"It's a good thing to. After what happened things could have very quickly gotten out of hand" Carlisle said.

I sighed at the reminder of my atrocity. I got into the car silently and I remained silent the whole way back.

Everyone was in the living room waiting for us.

"What took you so long? We thought that you'd be back awhile ago" Esme asked.

"We had a problem. It seems Nessie's vampire side is maki g a comeback, we found her drinking some the donated blood" Carlisle explained.

Everyone's eyes automatically snapped to me and I flushed with embarassment.

"Oh dear" Esme said.

"What happened?" asked Rosalie

"Please explain what happened Nessie. We need to know"'Carlisle said as he sat down right next to me. My parents sat on the other side of me.

"I was waiting when suddenly the sweetest scent hit my nose. The It was the sweetest thing I had ever smelled before and it made my throat burn. I followed the scent and realized that it was blood" I said in distaste as the memory came back to me. "Part of me wanted the blood and part of me was repulsed at the very thought of drinking human blood. Somehow the bloodlust won" I said. I had started crying by the end of my explanation.

Carlise then hugged me. "It's okay Nessie, don't cry" he said.

"It's okay. What do you mean? How it can it be okay? I'm a vile, repulsive person for what I did" I said.

"Nessie, I told you that I never wanted to hear that ever again" dad said.

"So that's what you're silent conversation was about? Nessie, how can you even think that? You are a good person and I never want to hear you say that again" mom said fiercely before coming over to me and hugging me hard; too hard.

"Can't breathe" I wheezed out.

"Oops sorry" she said.

"How can you all be okay with this? I drank human blood" I said.

"Nessie, do you honestly believe that none of us have ever tasted human blood?" Emmett asked.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. What was he saying? My family valued human life more than anything in the world.

"What are you saying?" I asked.

"Nessie, there are only two people in this room who can say that they've never killed anyone; your dear old mother and Carlisle" he said.

"What?" I asked. This was news to me.

"Most vampires have a very hard time adapting to our diet. Even now it can be difficult to avoid slipping up" Carlisle said.

"You haven't felt the thirst in 12 years. Most of you're life you've been human. It's not a surprise that these instincts that we've reawaken in you are overpowering. You don't know how to handle it yet"'dad said.

"How do you handle the scent?" I asked.

"It takes very strong willpower to turn away. Human blood smells very sweet, which makes it hard. If you even had a teeny problem with sweets then I'd be very worried" he said.

Oh no oh no oh no! This is very bad. I've never admit this to anyone but I have more than just a teeny problem with sweets. I've always been a sugar addict. I used to sneak cookies and candy all day long. I still do that actually, just not as much as I used to. I always get extra helpings of desserts. At birthday parties I usually eat two or three pieces of cake; big frosting covered pieces. I eat donuts; a lot. When we were kids I used to steal some of my brother's halloween candy and stash it under my bed. To this day he still can't figure out who the mysterious 'candy thief' was. Yeah, I've always had a problem with sugar. I never gained much weight though, and I think it's because of the very small percentage of vampire that I had in me.

Carlisle suddenly cleared his throat, bringing me back from my trip down memory lane. His eyes were suddenly full of concern.

"We may have a very huge problem on our hands" he said. "Having strong sugar cravings is very bad when dealing with the scent of blood" he added.

I was dumbfounded. "Wait, How did...? Did you see that?" I asked. My power must be returning to now.

"Yes, I did. It seems that you're power to show people what you are thinking is starting to return" he said.

"What's going on?" mom asked.

"We need to watch Nessie extremely carefully. She has a very powerful sugar craving, which will make it very hard for her to resist blood" dad said.
