Sitting in the car to Molly's she caressed his hand and she took his hand in hers, looked at the silver ring around his finger and he smiled, was so happy they were officially married now. He had a brand new silver ring with her name engraved in it as well as their wedding date and she was wearing a smaller one, made out of white gold that was actually from her grandma, although it had been changed a little with his name and the date in it and she smiled at it, happy.
As they arrived at Molly's a little later they walked to the back where Gabby's dress for the evening was hanging as this one was so big and Matt sighed.
''You look so beautiful, well, I am s-sure you still will.'' He said then and he looked at the large wedding cake Cindy had put in place for him on a large table, with a lot of flowers around the cake. It was all so pretty in the bar. They had draped a fabric over the lights on the ceiling that made them less bride that made them look like stars and there were flowers everywhere. They got ready for the reception very fast and matt sighed.
''It is so much in one day, but also g-good.'' He said and Gabby nodded, hugging him and kissing him before they walked back for the reception. They shook so many hands and got so many presents and Matt held baby baby daisy as Mr and mrs Winters were also there, mrs Winters still pregnant with their son that was going to be named after Matt.
So many people were here for them and it was really heartwarming. They had dinner in Molly's all together that Herrmann had arranged with a catering company and the food was so good.
Matt took the big knife and Gabby laid her hands over his as they pushed it down in the cake and both got a small piece of the cake and he took a piece of the cake and he wanted to push it in her mouth before she was ready and laughing she was just in time to catch the part that had bounced against her lip and she smeared the piece she was holding all over his mouth.
After everybody had a piece of the cake Eva and Diego climbed on the low stage that was in the corner of Molly's and Laura called everybody's attention by tapping with a spoon against the glass and Gabby and Matt sat down in front of the stage while everybody was quiet.
''The A is of Antonio, because he is Gabby's best buddy and Matt's worst fear.'' Eva said, reading it from the paper and Antonio laughed so loud that Gabby knew he had added it instead of them thinking about it. Most of the other guests seemed to be hoping they were not going to cover the whole alphabet.
''The B is from Bride, because that is aunt gabby today.'' Diego said.
''And the B is also from bridegroom, which is Matt today.'' Eva said.
''The C is from Casey, because that is aunt Gabby's new surname.''
''The D is from Dawson, because that was her name.''
''The D is also from dull, because that is what a wedding alphabet is.'' Diego smirked then and Eva looked at him and Matt and Gabby were glad that the alphabet was more of a joke.
''And we don't want to do something dull because Gabby and Matt are not dull. Their jobs are not dull because Matt runs into burning buildings and Gabby is right there with him and even in their personal life they are never dull because then they take us out to the Blackhawk games and they do other fun stuff with us. Life is never dull with Gabby and Matt.'' Diego said and Gabby and Matt smiled as they were glad Eva and Diego enjoyed time with them so much.
''And it's never dull because they are strong, their jobs require being strong and that is what they always are, because even when things were going bad and things seemed to be hopeless Gabby pulled Matt through and vice versa. You love each other and that is what matters to most and I am sure that you will have a great marriage. '' Eva said.
''And we love to have you as our aunt and uncle, Gabby Casey and Matthew Casey.'' Diego finished it and they walked off the small stage and walked to Matt and Gabby and Gabby hugged them both and Matt thanked them for these great words.
Soon after Gabby and Matt walked onto the dance floor and Matt tried not to mind all the people around him as he could absolutely not dance but he knew it was important for Gabby and it was their song.
We said we'd walk together baby come what may
That come the twilight should we lose our way
If as we're walking a hand should slip free
I'll wait for you
And should I fall behind
Wait for me
Gabby's eyes were filled with tears as they danced and she smiled as this song fitted them so well as they were always there for each other. At the end of the song they shared a hug and Matt dried Gabby's tears and soon after that the party really broke loose and everybody started to dance and festive that they were finally married.
The party lasted until late in the night and it was far over midnight when Matt carried his bride inside the hotel room that looked all over Chicago. It was on the top floor of a high hotel and the firehouse had arranged it for them to spend their wedding night here and they enjoyed the view with a last glass of champagne, laying on the bed. They were both exhausted from today but it also had been a great day. It was the most beautiful day of their life, for both. They started to undress as they were both tired but them Gabby helped Matt with his shirt and he smirked.
''I have n-never been this exhausted.'' Matt sighed then with a smirk and Gabby raised one eyebrow.
''Tame wedding night?'' She said and he laughed, kissed her.
''No w-way.'' He said as they rolled on the bed.
NOTE: Gabby and Matt are officially married and had the best wedding they could have wished for and also Eva and Diego made it clear that Matt is a part of the family too now. So there is still a honeymoon coming up, if you like. I am not sure if you are still interested in this story. If you are I am going to try to give this story some new life and make new storylines but only if you are interested. The honeymoon is still coming up and then we will see if you still want to see more! I hope you do! Thank you so much for reading and please leave a review!
Lyrics don't belong to me! The song is if I should fall behind by Bruce Springsteen.
