A/N: Thank you so much for patiently waiting, and I'm sorry it took me two months to update. I don't have a computer right now. I tried writing using a small tablet, but it only caused me frustrations and a visit to an eye specialist. Thanks to my bf for letting me borrow (steal) his laptop. ;
Just a reminder, [Italic texts] = flashbacks
Thank you so much for reading my story.
Enjoy!
I don't own Naruto.
Chapter 6: Which Hinata?
.
She found herself staring blankly at the sylphlike form of his nape and the nakedness of his back. She must have scrubbed his back too hard, she thought, for his skin suddenly appeared flushed. Hinata blinked a couple of times, thinking profoundly of what the naked person in front of her just suddenly blurted.
"W-What?" She coughed, feeling her throat dry.
The room was enveloped in silence again, the slow plopping of water still the only sound that drowned the soft drumming of their heartbeat.
Naruto's shoulders rose as he breathed deeply and repeatedly, while Hinata watched his uneasiness and the floundering in his movements- he raised his head up, then moved them left to right in uncertainty, then looked down again. Hinata only stared confused.
"Let's do it." Shaky voice reverberated across the room. "I mean-" Naruto paused. He turned his head and blindfolded eyes looked over his shoulders, trying to gaze at his bathing companion thru the black cover. "-the k-kiss."
There was a muffled noise just right outside the door, like something falling, but they didn't seem to notice.
Hinata's whole face turned extremely red, watching the word form in his lips. She looked around the bathroom, trying to see if there were windows to open, for it suddenly became hot. When she didn't find one, she swallowed hard. "W-Why?"
"W-Well...Uh, y-you see... T-That's because..." Naruto unconsciously poked his fingers together. "I think... I think... I'm starting to—"
"Hmm?"
"Hinata, I-I think I'm starting to—"
"Hm?"
"I-I think I'm starting to miss my body!" Naruto gave a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, that's it!" Naruto didn't know he could draw out the fakest laugh he had ever heard in his life.
Hinata hung her head getting more confused.
"I-I mean, with the way you said things, I started to miss walking around with that lanky body and that messy hair! It's been a while, right? But don't mind what I said about the kiss!" He lowered his head. "Just.. ignore it."
"Oh!" Hinata let out the breath she had been holding. She felt relieved, yet inexplicably disappointed at the same time. "I-I see."
Naruto fought the urge to pull his damp hair out of his scalp, mainly because it wasn't his hair in the first place, and second, because he didn't understand the growing frustration that never dwindled even as Hinata spoke again.
"Are you alright, Naruto-kun?"
"Ahaha! Yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking that you're right, Hinata. I think I should appreciate myself more. Not everyone is born with whiskers in their faces. That means I'm quite unique!" His fake laugh was then replaced by a soft voice and a warm smile. "But really, thank you, Hinata. Not everybody thinks the same way about me. I'm glad.. I'm glad that you noticed."
"T-That's not a problem." Hinata smiled softly herself. "Before the war, even before Pain, I've always thought you're amazing, Naruto-kun."
Naruto was sure he stopped breathing for the nth time that night.
He shook his head. "Who am I kidding?" He said softly, mostly to himself.
Confusion started to fill Hinata again as she watched Naruto's shoulder shake from chuckling lightly.
"N-Naruto-kun?"
"I don't know, Hinata. I can't understand it myself, either."
"W-What do you mean?"
"I-I tried to ignore the feeling, Hinata. I did. The thing about missing my body- that's not entirely true. I made it all up. I thought that maybe if I try to deny it, it would go away. But.." He looked over his shoulders again. "But your words.. you.. You give me this feeling."
"What... feeling?" Hinata's breathing became shallow and her heart was pounding out of her ribcage, it was almost painful. She gazed around again trying to find a window. She looked at the direction of the door, and dreaded when she remembered that Neji was just right outside possibly hearing the conversation. She started to feel dizzy, and Naruto's confession wasn't helping her in anyway at all.
"This feeling of... wanting to kiss you."
Hinata felt like a thousand hearts flew towards her and punched her right in the chest thousand times. Her chest might burst anytime.
And it was incredible.
"This may weird you out, Hinata." Naruto continued, "The truth is.. I just really want to kiss you." He said in almost a whisper.
"N-Naruto-kun..." Hinata was breathless.
"S-So.." Naruto felt his heart in his throat. He didn't like butterflies that much, but he sure had them in his stomach that moment- lots and lots of them- their wings grazing soft flutters in the walls of his gut made him nauseous. The feeling was something new to him, and it made him uncertain. He shouldn't have opened his mouth, but he just couldn't help it. He had to let it out of his chest, or he would die asking himself 'what if'. Naruto blushed wildly. "Is it alright, Hinata, if I... you know.. kiss you?" He bit his lips and held his breath.
Silence fell on the room again.
'One.'
'Two.'
'Three.'
'Four.'
'Five...'
Naruto counted up to ten, but the Hyuuga maiden remained silent.
"Hinata?" He called, but there was no answer.
'I guess I asked too much.' He thought. Slumping his shoulders, Naruto smiled sadly. "Is that a no?"
Still, Hinata continued her silence, which made Naruto's eyebrows to furrow.
"Wait, Hinata..." A hint of confusion was audible in Naruto's voice. "You didn't just faint, did you?"
"Ooooooohh... Aaaaaaaahh... That feels good~~"
His eyebrows twitched at the continuous moans of pleasure that consequently hurt his ears.
He had always been a serious and quiet person- his clan's strict nature brought him up like that- but there were just things in this world that could tick off a Hyuuga Neji.
"Mmmm... Oooohhh...Nice.. Oooohhhhhh-Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"
Cries of agony immediately replaced Naruto's soft mewling as Neji deliberately pressed a fingers on Naruto's scraped shoulder.
"Ouch! What's wrong with you? Can you try to be gentler? I'm injured here, you know?!" Naruto cried, his slender fingers covered a part of a wound that grazed the length of his left arm.
"Stop making such noises. They're distracting." Neji dipped an index finger in a small round jar and rubbed its green contents on Naruto's shoulder. The stinging sensation caused Naruto to wince, but his expression soon softened as the medicine took effect.
"Aaaaaahhh... That's nice~~~ Ouch! Stop that!"
"I told you, stop moaning."
"Alright, fine! Jerk.." Naruto said, mumbling the last word.
"I heard that." Neji's brows furrowed deeper in annoyance, but his voice remained calm. "Be thankful. I would have just left you bleeding to death if not for Hinata-sama's body."
"Oh yeah?! I hope you're not forgetting that YOU'RE THE ONE WHO ALMOST SLICED UP MY LEFT ARM! Geez! Are you on your period or something? You've been awfully moody for the last few days!" Naruto exclaimed. He watched as Neji's expression remained a grimace, just slightly softened. "Well, I can't blame you. It's so bad that we're stuck here training when everyone's outside having fun." Naruto sulked. "Why are we training during the holidays anyway?" Naruto gazed at the direction of the gate- the only thing that separated him and Neji from the celebrating crowd of Konoha. He sighed. "It's even the third day of the festival."
The cheering crowd and the sound of drums signalled the last day of the festival. It was probably still crowded, with small shopping stands lining the street of Konoha and people walking around in their yukatas; the colored flags and light bulbs strung up from one post to another, giving the busy streets an even livelier atmosphere.
But Naruto could only hear crickets inside the almost empty Hyuuga courtyard.
"When is this training going to end?" Naruto complained.
"Hiashi-sama wanted us to train." Neji explained briefly.
"Did he also tell you he wanted me dead? You're beating me up pretty hard! You broke my wrist the other day and almost gave me an internal hemorrhage. Today, you juken-ed me in the neck and cut my arm. Are you trying to kill me?"
Neji sighed. "Just fifty more and you're free."
"Really?" Naruto's face lit up, and he grinned. "That's good. I have to be somewhere later."
Neji only gave him a knowing look.
"Hey Neji, your hand, it's bleeding again. Are you sure it's just a small cut from my kunai? It looks pretty deep to me."
"Just mind your own wounds, Naruto." Neji handed the ointment to Naruto rather harshly and walked inside the house to get himself a roll of gauze.
"What a stuck-up jerk." Naruto muttered.
.
Naruto panted as he ran quickly through the crowd, never bothering to stop and apologize for bumping or stepping on someone's foot. He just finished his last spar with Neji, and seeing the sun about to set down, he knew he's running late.
"Fifty my ass!" He cursed under his breath.
He continued to run as fast as he could, heading to the busiest part of the village, when a familiar voice called out to him.
"Hey, Hinata!"
Naruto turned around and found a pair of bushy eyebrows wiggling around in glee.
"Yo, Lee. What's up?" Naruto said casually.
"W-What's up?" Lee raised an eyebrow, confused at the language. "Well, I just want to ask if you have seen Neji. I've been looking everywhere for him."
"He's at home. Bye!" Naruto turned his heel, about to run again.
"Wait! We'll go see the fireworks later. Do you want to join?" Lee shouted at Naruto's back.
"No! Bye!"
.
Naruto recklessly jumped over a dozen boxes sitting next to a fruit stand. He stepped on a dog's tail, bumped into a little girl, ran over a few empty crates, and accidentally pushed a lady into a pool of goldfish. They barked, cried, crashed, and cursed, respectively at least, but Naruto didn't hear a single word. He had to get to his destination fast.
He stopped again, hearing his real name, this time.
"Naruto!"
It was Kiba. "Oops, I mean, Hinata!" Kiba grinned.
"What?!" Naruto asked, annoyed that he had been held off the second time.
"N-Nothing. What's wrong with you?"
"I'm in a hurry." Naruto stepped forward, ready to run again.
"Where to?"
"None of your business!"
And he went off.
KIba shouted a vulgar word that literally referred to the anus, but Naruto was long gone.
.
"Naruto!"
"Whaaaat?!" Naruto screamed. A strong fist hit him hard on the head when he turned around and saw Sakura.
"Why the hell are you yelling?!" Sakura was furious.
"I-I'm sorry! Didn't recognize you there, Sakura-chan. I was just in a hurry."
"Oh, where are you going?"
"W-Well..." Naruto blushed and scratched the back of his head.
"Oh, I see..." Sakura elbowed him cunningly and whispered. "Good luck, Naruto."
"Thanks, Sakura-chan. I have to go." Naruto turned his back and proceeded with his running as he shouted, "You look good in that yukata. Say hi to Sasuke for me!"
Sakura was left behind blushing furiously.
.
"Naruto?"
Naruto was one left turn away from where he was going, when someone called out to him the fourth time. "
"Stop bothering me, people!" Naruto turned his head to the not-so familiar voice and found Hinata's bodyguard, Ko.
"Oh. H-Hello, Ko-san." He said nervously.
"Did Sakura-san just call you 'Naruto', Hinata-sama?" Ko's curious white eyes stared back at him.
"Ah.. That... Eh.. She's just teasing me, Ko-san!" Naruto faked a laugh.
"Hmm.. Where are you going all alone, Hinata-sama?"
"W-Well you see..."
Ko eyed him curiously. "Hanabi-sama was looking for you. She wants to see the fireworks with you later."
"Oh.." Naruto lowered his head. "Please tell her I can't. I promised someone..."
"I see. I'll tell her, then."
"Thank you, Ko-san."
"Take care... Hinata-sama."
Naruto watched Ko's back as he left without saying anything more. He didn't know if it was a good or a bad thing that Ko didn't pry further into where he was going, but he couldn't care less for now. He had something more important to attend to, and it's patiently waiting for him in front of the Yakiniki Q.
.
He slowed down when he saw her standing in front of the restaurant, still clad in his own signature black and orange tracksuit. He stopped a few feet away and just stood looking at her.
She seemed to notice, and her blue eyes slowly moved to his direction.
When their eyes met, they both remembered.
The feeling of slowly floating, leaving the ground.
The feeling of gently melting underwater.
The feeling of a first kiss, that happened several days ago.
.
[Hinata was simply blown away. All those times, she hadn't done anything else aside from staring at Naruto's back, still contemplating if she's hearing his words correctly. Her dry lips parted as she gulped for air.
'The truth is.. I just really want to kiss you.' His words repeatedly ran through her head, every single brain cell construed each word for its meaning. A perfectly coherent sentence she suddenly couldn't understand.
'Kiss..' She unconsciously licked her lips, her blush turning a deeper shade of red at the thought of it.
"N-Naruto-kun..." She was breathless.
'Is this a dream?' Hinata asked herself. The air didn't seem to reach her lungs, even as she took one deep breath.
Staring at his naked back for too long strained her eyes, causing her to blink a few times, and she knew then, she wasn't dreaming.
'Oh my god.' Hinata's eyes widened, as panic started to wash over her. 'N-Naruto-kun wants to kiss me..'
Hinata could feel her heart hammering, while she sat there completely motionless, with only her mind to process the emotional turmoil brought by the words of a certain nude person.
Her heartbeat was ultimately fast. She was breathless. Her face was bright red, her throat, dry. And she's having her fit of anxiety attack. She might just be a few seconds away from convulsing. But she also wanted that kiss that bad...
She got too caught up in the moment that she didn't hear him spoke the second time.. and the third.. and so on.
"You didn't just faint, did you?" She finally heard him say.
"Hey, Hinata, are you alright?" Naruto shifted inside the tub, trying to spin around so he could face her. His fingers were on its way to his blindfold, about to remove them, when Hinata's hands suddenly stopped him.
"N-No!" Her voice exuded panic.
"I'm sorry!" Naruto turned back, facing the wall again. "I didn't see anything!" He thought for a moment. "Wait, I'm the one naked here."
"S-Sorry about that, Naruto-kun." Hinata said, when she finally calmed down. "I just don't want you to see me. I-I think I'm really blushing right now."
"Oh." Naruto cleared his throat. "That's good. We're, um, the same, then."
It was only then that Hinata noticed something else about Naruto aside from his back. She peeked at the side of face, and she could see that he was bright red, and the artery lining his neck was noticeably pulsating fast. He brought his knees close to his chest, and rested his chin on his knees when he appeared short of breath.
"I-I see."
"Did I surprise you?" Naruto asked.
"Y-Yes."
"I'm really sorry."
"That's alright."
"B-But the things I said a while ago, I mean all of them, Hinata. Just don't ask me why, because I don't have the answers right now. But you're having this effect on me, lately. Like, I want to know more about you.. see you more often... I got really worried when I found out that you'll be sent to Kumo, and now, I want to kiss you." Naruto chuckled as he gently caressed his cheeks. "I-It's kind of confusing, you know. I can't explain it myself either, but that's what I really felt. I-I think I'm starting to-"
"T-Then, let's try it, Naruto-kun." A blush slowly crept back to Hinata's face.
"Really?" Naruto blurted. "Well I..I mean, you don't have to force yourself, Hinata. This might be something very important to you."
Hinata thought for a moment. "You're right."
"Yeah. They say that the first kiss is very important."
"That's right. That's why I want it to be with you."
Naruto's breath hitched in his throat, and he could feel the heat emanating from his face. It felt like the world stopped spinning right there and then, and the room became quiet once again, until he spoke.
"My first kiss was with Sasuke, so I'm probably bad at it. I-Is that alright?" A question which was answered momentarily by Hinata's soft giggles.
"I-I guess so."
"That's great." Naruto smiled widely. "I promise I'll kiss you properly next time. So... how do we do it?"
He tensed when he heard her slowly moved from the small chair behind him to the tiled side of the tub to his right.
"I-I guess I would lean on to you like this."
"Okay-"
Naruto lifted his chin up to the direction of her voice, when suddenly, moist lips pressed softly on his own. White pupil-less eyes went wide under the covering of the blindfold, and his lips remained still, forgetting to breathe at all.
Their lips remained touching, but motionless, both figuring out each other's feeling to the new sensation. Each waited for the other to do the next step, but both uncertain whether to continue or end it at once.
Until Naruto parted his lips.
Who knew that parting it just a tiny bit could make all the difference?
Hinata noticed, and she breathed in deeply, while tilting her head slightly to the right.
Now, they were kissing.
She felt her body slowly floating, leaving the ground.
He felt his legs melt underwater.
It was a chaste kiss that was seven-second long. Long enough for Naruto to feel that her lips- which was his, actually- were soft, warm, and sweet; strong enough that he didn't notice that Hinata's hands moved from the cold surface of the tub to the warm skin of his bare shoulders; but short enough that when the kiss broke, both of them were wanting more.
But both decided that that was enough for now. No, it wasn't just enough. It was actually perfect.
Hinata's face was red, and though a bit breathless, she was the first one to speak.
"W-Well, I guess Hokage-sama's idea didn't work." A soft smile formed in her lips.
"Hmm."
"T-The kiss.. It's amazing, Naruto-kun. I-I... umm.. I-I like it."
Naruto, with his mouth still slightly open, licked his lips, and remained silent for a while. He closed his eyes, inhaled deeply through his nose, and swallowed hard. "I like y-"
"Naruto."
Hearing the familiar stern voice, both heads turned towards the door where it came from. Hinata's eyes went wide realizing that they had just forgotten about the person waiting outside the bathroom door. "N-Niisan!"
Naruto stopped breathing again, this time for an entirely different and awful reason. In short seconds, he was able to imagine how the door would be splintered to pieces by life's personification of massive violence and brutality, which was Neji, and how his enraged hands would grab his neck and choke the life out of him for kissing his cousin and future clan head. He thought of removing his blindfold and frantically look for a window he could throw himself out of, when he heard Neji called out to him once again.
"Hey, Naruto, hurry up. It's getting late. We have to get back."
Naruto audibly gulped at the eerie calmness of his voice. "Y-Yeah, almost done."
.
'The next morning, a number of villagers crowded the riverbank, when a body of a woman was found floating lifeless in the Konoha River. Her corpse was floating face down, with her dark long hair sprawled out in the water, which was brightly tinged red from the blood that was still oozing out from her head. When the people recognized her swollen face, there was no mistaking it- the heiress of the Hyuuga clan, Hyuuga Hinata, was dead.'
Or at least that was what happened inside Naruto's twisted imagination as he walked home with Neji, along the Konoha River, with the reflection of the quarter moon dancing in its flowing water. He was sure that Neji would soon release the devil inside and play murder with his body, but the Hyuuga just remained the serious and quiet person that he was, occasionally talking to Naruto about their next training, sounding like he didn't have a clue of what had transpired on the other side of the door.
'Or perhaps, maybe, he really didn't know?' Naruto pondered on their way home.]
.
"Hello, Naruto-kun." She finally said when he approached her.
If it's her same sweet voice, he didn't mind being called over and over again.
"I-I'm back." She slightly blushed at the intensity of his gaze.
"Welcome home, Hinata."
For him, her smile was always the sweetest.
.
.
It was already dark by the time Hinata and Naruto left Yakiniku Q. Gray thick clouds hung above the village of Konoha, covering a supposedly starry summer night sky. The wind was slightly chilly, and the air smelled of petrichor, even though it didn't rain. Not yet.
"That's weird. It's supposed to be super hot tonight." Naruto glanced up the storm clouds that were consistently building up in size. He slightly winced as cold air blew past them and sent chills down his spine.
"It looks like it's going to rain. Should we hurry, Naruto-kun?"
"Yeah." Naruto frowned, displeased that nature was ruining their first date. "I'll walk you home first."
"N-No, it's alright. It looks like rain will come down anytime soon. Let me walk you home, instead." Hinata smiled.
"What?!" Naruto couldn't hide his blush. "What are you talking about?! I'm the guy here! I should walk you home Hinata, not the other way around."
"I-It's fine, Naruto-kun. You can't get drenched in the rain and come home sick, can you? You still have to train with Neji-niisan tomorrow."
"Well, that's true, but still..."
"And besides, I can run faster with your chakra reserve. I should be alright."
There was a short streak of lightning followed by thunder, and small drops of rain started to fall. The last day of the festival was cut short as stall owners began to close down their shops. Mothers carried their children, and people walked in a hurry to get home, as the raindrops became heavier. The streets of Konoha were about empty in a matter of minutes.
Naruto and Hinata found themselves running on their way to the Hyuuga compound. Naruto, despite being slightly soaked in the rain, couldn't help but smile when Hinata grabbed his hand urging him to run faster. They held hands even as they reached the wooden gates of Hinata's house.
"Ah! I'm sorry!" Hinata said as she released his hand.
"That's okay. Thanks for taking me home, Hinata."
Hinata blushed, when her blue eyes met his. "Y-You're welcome, Naruto-kun."
Their eyes locked for a moment, but both immediately looked away blushing.
"I-I have to go now." She glanced back to him shyly.
Naruto cleared his throat. "Oh, alright.. S-So, I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Y-Yes. See you, Naruto-kun."
"Bye, Hinata."
"Bye."
Naruto watched her leave, and even as she slowly disappeared from his view, he continued watching the street where she headed. He inwardly cursed himself for letting her leave. He could have invited her for a cup of tea, or at least offered her an umbrella. The streets were unusually dark that night, and the rain seemed to become heavier as minutes passed. He sighed and turned around, pushing the wooden door open, briefly noticing how the streetlamps behind him flickered and died.
.
Hinata jumped from one roof to another, hoping to get home before the dark sky poured heavy rain over Konoha, her sandals made a fast clinking sound as they touched the roofs' clay tiles. The rain started to pour down, and she quickened her pace, aiming to jump up the highest roof in the neighbourhood, when a lightning suddenly struck at her direction.
"Kyaaaaa!" Hinata lost her balance and fell off the roof, landing painfully on an inverted ankle.
"O-Ouch!" She howled, as she stood up and continued walking, completely unaware of the pair of eyes that has been watching her from the shadows.
Hinata gave the flight of stairs one painful look and sighed. She was drenched in the rain, and the cold air caused her to shiver and her limp to sting. She thought of jumping straight from the ground to her open window, when he heard a familiar voice call from behind.
"Are you... Hyuuga Hinata?"
She turned around to see who the person was, and her eyes went wide.
.
.
The next morning, a number of villagers crowded the riverbank, when a dead body of a woman was found floating in the Konoha River. Her corpse was found floating face down, with her dark long hair sprawled out in the water, which was brightly tinged red from the blood that was still oozing out from her head. The people recognized her swollen face easily.
She owned the small Takoyaki stand during the festival, and based on the report, she was running as fast as she could under the heavy downpour, when she suddenly slipped and hit her head on the concrete. She tried to stand, but had lost her balance, causing her to fall off the bridge, to the Konoha River where she died.
Tsunade frowned at the unfortunate news that came to her office early in the morning, but was also relieved at least that the incident wasn't caused by a homicidal maniac at large. She couldn't afford to deal with problems right now. Not when she was nursing one heck of a hang-over from downing all fifteen sake bottles last night. She was reading the rest of the report, when the sudden presence of an Anbu caused her eyebrow to rise and her stomach to turn.
"Hokage-sama, we just received a report that..." The Anbu had to pause at the dark look Tsunade was giving him. "..that Hyuuga Hinata, is missing."
Tsunade gritted her teeth and clenched her jaw, her dark look turned menacing. 'Yup, that's a problem right there.'
A problem that was more complex than it actually was because of the body switch, but for now, she needed to know something first.
She asked herself, 'Which Hinata?'
.
.
["I can hear you, Naruto." He told them, as he firmly pressed an ear to the base of a drinking glass he held against the door.
"What am I doing?" Neji berated himself. The truth was, he could barely hear them with the door closed. It was unlikely for him to use childish bluffs like these, but for the safety of his cousin Hinata, he would even cry 'wolf'.
He moved the glass around, trying to find the perfect spot so he could hear well. It was getting quieter on the other side of the door, and it made him feel a tad uneasy.
'Did he just ask her out on a date?' A deep crease formed on his forehead when he heard Naruto speak. Somehow, the words 'Yakiniku Q' and 'just the two of us' just didn't mix well together for him. 'That Naruto...'
The sound of running water drowned the already-muffled voices on the other side of the door. Neji sighed and retreated back to his chair, the drinking glass still in his hand.
"Ah! That felt good!"
Neji heard Naruto say in his cousin's sweet pleasured voice, and the older Hyuuga slightly tensed. Clearing his throat, he pressed his ears firmly against the base of the glass again.
He just listened quietly.. but as the conversation progressed, he felt his grip to the glass tighten. He tried to find other words that rhymed. He could have possibly heard wrong.
Piss, diss, tiss, list, miss, wiz, cyst - but only one word made sense.
"-the k-kiss."
The wooden chair flew a few inches away with the force of Neji's restrained kick.
He wanted to bust the door open and drag Hinata- or Naruto, or maybe Hinata- away. Veins swelled wildly around his eyes, and each one screamed of anger. He had already thought of million ways to kill Naruto, when he heard Hinata speak.
"T-Then, let's try it, Naruto-kun."
'What?' Neji stood dumbfounded, watching his cousin's actions.
His Byakugan saw through the door, even as he averted his eyes when Naruto and Hinata's faces were mere centimetres apart. There was a tinkling sound, and his right hand suddenly hurt. Blood dripped down the floor as shattered pieces of glass pierced deeply through his palm. He deactivated the Byakugan and shook his head.
It was unlikely for him to let things like these pass, but with the way her cousin's eyes gazed lovingly to Naruto, he would turn a blind eye- even though it's an all-seeing eye- and let it all slide. But that didn't mean he wouldn't beat up Naruto for it. During a training, perhaps?]
.
The last part is a flashback about the kiss in Neji's POV. Hope it didn't confuse you.
