A/N- Hey everyone thank you for all of the reviews which havery gone past the 100 mark! This chapter was supposed to contain the entire wedding but due to its length I've decided to break it up into two chapters. If I would have kept it combined it would have easily reached over 15,000 words and taken twice as long to update. This chapter does have a huge Jacob and Bella moment that I hope you all will enjoy!
As the pack began to disperse I walked over to join Harrison and Quil who were talking a few yards away from the tree line.
"Well that went better than I thought it would." Old Quil stated with a relieved smile.
"We've still got a long way to go before any of us trust each other; hopefully they'll listen to what we have to teach them." I answered crossing my arms over my chest.
"Well take everything one step at a time. We need to try and to make this work with the pack for Bella." Harrison ordered giving me a pionted look.
"Hey I've been team Jacob from day one. It's not my fault they're both stubborn beyond belief, but not to worry I've got a plan."
"Oh boy, Drustan has a plan, we better start planning damage control." Old Quil laughed.
"I take offense to that old man!" I snapped playfully.
"Good, then I won't have to try harder." he snorted back.
Any amazingly witty come back I was going to throw at Old Quil was interupted when Bella jumped on my back causing me to stumble forward.
"Hey crazy girl what are you doing?" I laughed standing up straight, pulling her legs around my waist piggy back style.
"I'm so excited!" she squealed, "Charlie gave me the okay to decorate the spot for the wedding." she smiled sliding down my back and prancing around to face me.
"I don't have time to talk but I need you all to meet me at the beach in about an hour."
Without waiting for an answer she bounced up on her tip toes giving all three of us a peck on the cheek before jogging towards the house.
Jacob walked with Sam, Jared, and a very spunky Seth towards the beach. Leah and Paul were both ordered back to their houses and Quil and Embry had waved the group ahead saying they would catch up in a few minutes before walking over to the blonde warrior.
Part of Jacob was angry that they so openly welcomed not only Bella but also her new boy toy. He wasn't a fool, even a blind man would be able to see the connection between the warriors. Not that he cared. Bella Swan meant nothing to him and her love life meant even less. Who was he to care who she was with?
Jacob focused on convincing himself that his heart didn't speed up every time he saw her, and his stomach most definitely didn't clench every time she laughed or smiled. The pack followed the trail that would lead them to the most secluded and private part of the beach, where the shore line curved disappearing behind the high jagged cliffs the pack used for cliff diving. No one from the tribe or kids from Forks used this stretch due to the dangerous undertoes that were rumored to be there. It was there that the tribal council told the ledgends as truth to to the pack, and where Sue and Charlie would be getting married later this evening.
The wedding was the reason they were heading there now. The ceremony was going to be simple with a small party afterwards. The pack had offered to build a dance floor on the beach for the festivities much to Sue's delight.
"Is anyone else having trouble taking all of this in?" Jared mumbled running his hand over his face.
"Who would have thought they were gods." Seth answered with obvious awe.
"We expected Bella to come back different but Goddess of Battle would not have been my first guess." Jared snorted.
"They are not gods." Jacob snapped knowing that everyone's first guess would have had Bella returning with red eyes and skin like a disco ball.
"They said that themselves, people just misconstrued them as such." Jacob finished resisting the urge to growl, he was already sick of this conversation. He didn't need anymore reminders to the fact that he didn't measure up to the great Drustan.
"They may not be God's but they are powerful. You all saw them yesterday they weren't even trying and we couldn't touch them. The only reason Bella got hurt was because she wouldn't hurt Paul or let Charlie hurt him." Sam added evenly.
Everyone knew the truth to that statement. Jacob had made them all phase and one by one replay their memories so they could go over the fight from every angle. One thing that became glaringly obvious was that the Warriors could have killed all of them with very little effort if they had wanted too.
The trail curved bringing them a few feet away from its end and the sandy beginning of the beach. Jacob's heart stopped at the sight that awaited them. Bella Swan stood on the beach with her hand on her hips, still dressed in her armor. The sun was shinning directly on her causing red to shimmer and swirl a fiery dance through her hair.
Jacob stopped abruptly in his tracks at the sight causing Seth to run directly into Jared s back they all stopped with him. No one moved. No one spoke. The three wolves just stopped and watched their Alpha and the warrior before them.
Bella bent down and plucked something up from the sand next to her booted foot. As she unwound a wire and placed something in one ear quickly followed by the other Jacob realized it was just an ordinary mp3 player. She scrolled her thumb over the buttons with her back still towards the pack who were still hiding just out of sight. After a few seconds she scrolled her thumb over the buttons again turning up the volume loud enough that their sensitive wolf hearing could hear the music, just as if they were driving down a road with the radio on low.
The opening cords drifted to their ears as Bella encased herself in her shimmering green light. The bass drum kicked and began to beat in time with Jacob's stuttering heart as she leaned down on a bended knee pressing her palms face down onto the sand.
I gathered all, all the sticks and stones
sang a clear voices as her light pulsed around her hand before absorbing into the awaiting ground.
Built a wall to keep out the ghost
The air around the beach warmed and breezed o to the trail.
But they walk threw walls, and I'm trapped inside
A warm breeze surrounded the pack dancing across their skin. The air it's self felt alive, pulsating with power and something uniquely Bella. Jacob closed his eyes taking a long deep breath through his nose filling his body with her scent.
I filled my lungs up with air, and hoped they'd carry me off like a hot ball on some where
sang the clear voice as if they were singing his greatest desire. He took another deep breath and his wolf hummed in contentment. Jacob wanted nothing more than to wrap himself up with her and drift away. Somewhere they could could be together without vampires and demons; somewhere they could just be Jake and Bells.
But now I can't breathe, I'm still on the ground
Jacob's fingers began to tingle and his head swam. He slowly let out his breath out of his mouth, leaving the distinct taste of vanilla. His stomach clenched and his body grew hot. He knew that's what she would taste like. What he dreamt she'd taste like for all of these years late at night before he would wake up panting and aching for her. His body began to react now as it did then.
Where there's shadow there is light
Jacob opened his eyes, he had to see her, his wolf and heart screamed for it. He drank in the sight of her like a man dying of thrist. She was still bent on one knee, the warm breeze which had surrounded him fluttered her hair causing It to dance around her face.
Love is in the battle cry
She raised her hands about six inches off of the ground only to push them back against the sand. She repeated the motion in in time with the beat an inadvertently Jacob's heart. Her light pulsed into the ground as if she were the earth's heart beat.
Even in the darkest night
Under her pulsing hand Jacob saw something start to form. It was varying shades of greens and browns. Bella slowly lifted herself to her feet rolling her shoulders bringing her head up high. Gracefully she extended her right arm out in front of her flicking her fingers forward.
There is shadow there is light
Her light shinned bright as moss surged out from under the sand to create a mossy carpet in front of took a half of step back extended her hand behind her in the same motion, creating the same effect.
There is light
The air around her shimmered as her scent became almost over powering. For Jacob everything else faded away, he and Bella were the only people that existed in the world.
When your world falls apart
Bella's light worked it's way up to her elbows. She took a deep breath, holding her hand out on each side even with her hip. With another deep breath she sent her light back into the sand on either side of her.
Every question opens up a new room in your heart
Beneath her hands two saplings began to snake their way out sand towards the sky.
Now you get lost wandering the halls
Jacob's eyes grew wide as the bare branches multiplied and continued to grow skyward.
Where there's shadow there is light
He took two steps forward, his feet moving towards Bella on their own accord. Each breath drew her scent even deeper inside of him, until he could feel it swirling in his veins.
Love is in the battle cry
He watched as Bella stepped forward a few feet and brought up two more saplings from the sand. The distance between them caused his stomach to turn and his fists to clench. His brows furrowed as he held a hand up to his heart. What was happening to him?
Even in the darkest night
Bella moved closer to the waters edge and his head began to spin. Unable to bear the distance he stumbled forward onto onto the sandy beach closing some of the distance between them. Now that they were closer the pressure in his chest eased.
There is shadow and there is light
Jacob's breath hitched as Bella gently swayed to the melody. Her arms and hands swooped amd turned directing the earth to play out her vision, as skillfully as a conductor would direct a symphony, squeezing out every possible emotion out of the music.
Oh there is light
Bella spun in a slow circle; it was obvious that that she was oblivious to everything around her. Jacob took another step forward and his heart swelled, his legs almost buckling under the barrage of emotions he was feeling
Hold your heart up to the fire
Bella threw her hands straight up into the air as her light shinned brighter than Jacob had ever seen it. All at once all of the trees she had created blossomed as one.
Walk across the razor wire
Bella began to spin faster and faster a joyful laugh escaped her lips and shot straight to Jacob's heart. She was magnificent. In all of his life he'd never seen anything more breath taking than Bella Swan in that moment. Just like that the carefully fortified walls around his heart cracked and splintered falling away in pieces.
Even in the cruelest fight
Unable to fight it any longer Jacob finally admitted to himself what deep down he had always known; He was madly in love with Bella Swan and always had been.
Love is in the battle cry
Bella languidly her hands above her head interlocking her fingers. The trees mimicked her motions bending in towards each other weaving their flowered branches together.
Love is in the battle cry
As the last notes of the song faded into the wind Bella turned to face him. He saw the surprise in his eyes as she took him in and a part of him wondered what she saw on his face. Could she see all of the love he felt for her?
They stood there frozen, gazes locked for what felt like an eternity. He wasn't sure if he walked, jogged, ran, or flew to her and he didn't care As he stood in front of her his hands began to shake. Both of their chests were heaving in time with each other. Their eyes bored into the others and Jake saw what he thought looked like hope in her eyes. Did she want this? Was it possible that she had feelings for him?
"Jake." she whispered his name like a prayer, the sound rolling over him like a wave of peace.
"Bells." he breathed.
Bella gasped at his use of her old nickname. Jacob's heart raced as she slowly extended her hand towards him. Electricity shot threw him as the soft skin of her hand came to rest on his bare chest. The skin beneath her palm began to warm as their eyes locked once more. They were close enough that Jacob could feel Bella's breath fan his face. He wanted to crush her against him and never let her go. He closed his eyes and felt his body leaning down towards hers.
"Bella honey this is amazing!" Charlies voice ubruptly halted Jacob's movements, his lips tantalizingly close to Bella's. His heart ached as Bella backed away from him to turn from the area her father's voice came from. His chest still tingling where she had rested her hand.
"DAMN IT!" Drustan cursed, "They were so close!"
"It looks like Charlie has a serious case of bad timing." Quil mumbled dejectedly.
"In his defense he couldn't see them." Embry said trying to defend Charlie even though he was very annoyed with him at the moment.
The three men stayed where they were and watched as Bella spoke to her father. They saw Harrison and Old Quil approach the pair praising Bella's work, and they saw how even as she spoke with everyone else her eyes never left Jacob. Old Quil noticing that someting was off raised a questioning brow at Jacob, who still stood frozen where Bella left him. His one hand on his chest amd his other arm half extended as if he were reaching for her.
"Why don't you two go make sure he's alrIght. Well start operation Happily Ever After tonight at the wedding." Drustan suggested.
The two wolves nodded their heads in agreement before rushing to their best friend's side.
"Hey Jake, everything alright?" Embry asked gently.
Jake shook his head a few times as of to clear it before looking at his friend.
"I'm...I'm fine." he stuttered his eyes flicking back and forth before landing back on Bella.
"Did something happen between you and Bella?" Quil asked hoping he would open up to them.
"No...yes...I don't know." he answered.
Embry heard the rest of the pack coming onto the beach.
"We'll talk later. We have some important information about Bella that we know will interest you." Embry whispered leaning close to Jacob.
Jacob's head whipped around to face Embry his eyes intense.
"Later." he managed roughly, "Now we've got a things to do." he ordered leaving the rest of the pack to catch up.
An hour later everyone dispersed to get ready for the wedding. It didn't take long for the pack to build a dance floor, but then again with six over sized shifter boys that was no surprise. They also built a small stage off to one side. Tables and chairs were set up in the sand, while Emily and Kim arranged the place settings.
Emily greeted Bella warmly apologizing for not seeing her sooner. Bella hugged the young woman remembering how kind she was to her all of those years ago. Kim offered a shy smile to the trio then quickly returned back to arranging the cutlery. Old Quil had mentioned Jared 's imprint was very shy and Bella hadn't gotten the chance to meet her before she left Forks.
Three long tables were brought out for the food and Bella couldn't help but laugh when Charlie told them that the girls had been cooking for a week straight to make sure there was enough food to go around.
Before leaving Bella put the finishing touches on her decorations by creating a beautiful arch way made from will lowing branches for Charlie and Sue to stand under when they say their vows. Drustan and Harrison both added their own signature touches.
After hugging her father and promising she would be in the front row she made her way back to the house with Drustan.
"You really out did yourself Angel, everything looks amazing." Drustan said as they me their way up the stairs to the bedroom.
"I just hope Sue likes it as much as Charlie."
"She'd be crazy not too, It looks like something out of a fairytale."
Bella smiled at the compliment. Drustan grabbed her shoulder before she could open the door to enter her room. Bella looked over her shoulder and saw a smile she knew well.
"Uh oh, what are you up to?" she asked with a grin.
"Up to? What makes you think I'm up to anything?" Drustan asked feigning innocence.
Bella snorted.
"Please, I know that look so spill it what are you planning?"
Drustan laughed holding both hands up in surrender.
"Fine you caught me but I swear it's nothing g too devious, I just have a surprise for you."
"You know I hate surprises." Bella groaned.
"I know which is why I waited until now to tell you about it." Drustan teased.
"So close your eyes and I'll go get it."
"Not happening."
"Isabela Marie Swan you close your eyes right now." Drustan huffed.
"Nope." Bella answered exaggerating the p sound.
"We both know we could do this all day so just close your eyes and stop being so stubborn."
"Fine." Bella grumbled crossing her arms over chest.
She was aware that resembled a pouting child but she couldn't help it. She really, really hated surprises.
Seconds later Drustan was standing in front of her.
"Okay open your eyes." Drustan whispered.
Bella's eyes snapped open and grew wide as she took in Drustan holding the most beautiful dress she'd ever seen.
"Drustan it's perfect." she gasped covering her mouth with one hand.
"A beautiful dress for a beautiful woman."
Bella reached out and touched the dress, it's fabric running through her fingers like water.
"Well don't just stand there and gawk at it, go put it on." Drustan teased as he gently places the dress over her arm.
Bella stood rooted in her spot as Drustan entered his room and closed the door.
"Chop chop Angel!" she heard him laugh from inside of his room.
Bella smiled and spun into her room to get ready.
Ten minutes later Bella stood in front of the mirror amazed at her own reflection. She'd never been what anyone would call pretty. Before she became a warrior she was just another short, sickly, pale, brown haired teenaged girl. She did have to admit after becoming a warrior her look improved slightly. She had grown a few inches, her body was in much better shape, her hair was still brown but it was fuller, and depending on what part of the world they were hunting in she would sometimes get a light tan. She'd long ago given up on being anything but pale or semi pale.
The dress was gorgeous. It was made of the softest silk that shimmered in an memorizing array of greens, that blended together in a way that took Bella's breath away. The dress was a one shoulder greecian style with a silver jeweled band under her beast's extenuating her slim waist. A second jeweled band over her left shoulder attaching extra fabric that hung gracefully from her shoulder to her feet. A pair of simple silver heels she found waiting for her on her bed (with a note from Harrison) completed her look.
For the first time Bella felt beautiful, if she looked hard enough in the mirror she could see what she hoped everyone else saw when they looked at her. After a few test spins and a girly giggle that she would never admitt to she left her room and descended the stairs to find Drustan.
Drustan heard the distinct clipped tones of heels descending to wooden stairs and turned so he could see Bella's grand entrance.
"You look beautiful Angel." he smiled walking forward to take her hand.
Bella blushed at his compliment.
"You don't look to bad yourself." she said Straightening his collar.
"Jacob Black won't know what hit him."
""Do you think?" she asked looking down at her feet.
"Oh your going to take his breath away, actually your going to take everyone's breath away. He might have to fight Quil and Embry for you." Drustan smirked.
The pair laughed both knowing how Quil was going to react.
"Can I have the honor of escorting you this evening my lady?" Drustan asked bowing low before offering her his arm.
"The honor is mine kind sir." she answered dropping into a quick curtsy before slipping her arm into his.
"Don't worry he's not going to be able to take his eyes off of you. Tonight's the night that's going to change everything, I can feel it." Drustan assured her.
Dropping a quick kiss on her cheek they walked out the back door with Bella's heart fluttering and her mind dancing with thoughts of Jacob Black.
A/N2- Okay I hoped you all enjoyed this chapter even though I know you were hoping for the big Jacob/Bella moment. Hopefully this will hold over until next chapter (which will have the big Bella/Jacob moment) which should be up soon. The song in this chapter was "Battle Cry" by Kyler England I seriously suggest you give it a quick listen because I personally love it. Please leave a quick review they mean so much to me.
