Author's Note: Gaah, I'm really stuck on these high school AUs! Here's a bit of short, pointless fluff just because I felt like it. (Rest assured, none of the characters are related in this one, though.)
Disclaimer: I don't own Eureka Seven.
Ideal Type

"…ideal boyfriend?" she repeats, incredulously, because he did not just flag her down in the middle of the goddamn hallway to inquire whether or not she has a 'type' and if so, what was it? "Why would you even ask—" She stops abruptly, and gives him a horrified look. "You better not be asking me out, you creep!"
Renton pales. "A-As if!" he exclaims, deeply disturbed at the mere thought of there ever being a 'them' that didn't include Eureka. Only Eureka. "Not even if you were the last girl on earth! Gimme a break, that's gross!"
Anemone draws a sigh of relief, and smirks. "As if I'd ever go out with someone so lame," she quips.
"Ouch!" Renton makes a stupid face and clutches the front of his T-shirt. "That really hurt my feelings, you know."
Anemone ignores him. "What brought this on all of a sudden?" she asks suspiciously, because Renton's true motives are yet to be revealed and God only knows what those are. "Why do you wanna know?"
Renton shifts awkwardly on the spot. "Scientific study," he blurts out.
Anemone snorts – yeah right. scientific study, her ass! – and she's about to call him out on it when she catches sight of a certain someone; a certain someone who is quietly studying a history poster a bit further down the hall, seemingly hell-bent on catching up on the latest gossip from 1789; a certain someone who is way too shy for his own good and her liking. And it dawns on her that despite being pesky and annoying (and unforgivably in love with Anemone's best friend), Renton is just being a good friend to his best friend.
So in the end, she says that she likes hers tall, dark and handsome.
Until she remembers that Dominic has a thing about his height, and so she tells Renton that she's prepared to settle for two out of three.
(…which is technically true, though she's sure that Dominic still has a bit left to grow.)
