Chapter 7 : Onion Gratin Soup

"President Blaze... You're the director?" Asked Bubbles, as Blaze walked over to her "Are you surprised?" He asked "Because you made Christmas Special... I wanted you to have an award." He smiled while holding up one of her cookies "And since I was filling in for the director" Bubbles looked up at him, confusion still showing in her eyes "Filling in... for the director?"

Blossom laughed as she walked over to them "Oh Bubbles, you didn't know about Blaze and Boomer?" She walked over, Pulling Boomer and Blaze close to her in a one arm hug "They're both the director's Sons"she said as chatter instantly started between the students. Boomer turned to Blossom and glared while blushing "Blossom! You.. You promised to keep quiet! Why the hell did I have to dress up as a prince?!" Blossom looked at him while pouting "I wanted to brag about it... You two are my childhood friends after all... " While the two fought, the boy with glasses made his way to the stage "Everyone!" He started "Please settle down! If I may continue?" He said , everyone instantly quieted down. Blossom stopped her chatter and smiled. Her friends nudged her over while saying "That's your cue Blossom!" said Mandy "You're the winner!" Stated Ruby

Blossom laughed softly and made her way up on stage, she stopped in front of Blaze who handed her a beautiful gold trophy. "The winner receives a trophy and the silver spoon" He says.

While all this is happening, Bubbles was lost in thought 'about the academy...' she says while looking over 'I just wanted to see my prince again...' she snaps out of it when President Blaze says 'silver spoon' She looks up at them and mutters "Silver spoon?"

Blaze continues "It's the directors belief that what you eat is what shapes you. " He hands her the spoon which is in a black box with a thin cushion underneath "That is why all the winners receive a silver spoon." Bubbles watched in thought as Blossom made her way down 'maybe... maybe that spoon...'

Blaze smiled at everyone and stated "Winter Vacation starts tomorrow! I'm hoping everyone stays safe!" As everyone started leaving, Bubbles looked around for Blossom. Once she spotted her, she ran over while saying "Blossom!" Which made Blossom and her friends turn around "Can you show me the spoon?" She asked while grabbing the spoon, gaining an "Ow! Bubbles!" from Blossom. Bubbles looked over the spoon and her face instantly went from confusion to shock. 'I knew it!' She thought to herself 'Its the same spoon as my prince's!' Bubbles looked up at Blossom who was rubbing her wrist "This spoon," She Started "Do you know who else has this?" Blossom looked up at her in irritation then sighed and said "There are many special people in this academy, there's no way to know how many spoons there are" Bubbles nodded her head 'that many?' she thought

Mandy glared and walked over "Hey, How long are you going to hold on to that?!" She grabbed the spoon and pushed Bubbles back "Give it back to Blossom! " she said. Bubbles fell back, making her own spoon slip out of her pocket. The three girls look down at her then Ruby walked forward and grabbed Bubbles spoon "Why do you have this spoon " she asked. Bubbles replied by saying "Give it back!" Mandy walked forward and grabbed it "Why would you have one?" She said "Where'd you steal it from?" Asked Ruby

Bubbles looked at them in fear and confusion "I didn't..." she said but it fell on def ears

Ruby walked over to Blossom with the spoon "Look Blossom " she said and handed it to her. "No! its a misunderstanding." Said Bubbles 'Blossom will believe me' she thought 'She'll...'

Blossom took the spoon then looked up and glared at Bubbles before dropping it on the ground and stomping on it. Bubbles stared in shock, Blossom kept glaring "Bubbles,... you're the worst" She walked forward and leaned over her "you wanna know something?" She grabbed on of Bubbles Ponytails and leaned closer "I hated you from the beginning " The three girls then left, leaving Bubbles alone in the hall, her hear still beating and her head in turmoil.

A while later

While everyone was saying their goodbyes, and leaving for home. Bubbles stood in her dorm, looking down at a picture of everyone in the orphange. She read the letter, one that came a few weeks back

Dear Bubbles,

Are you doing alright?

It's almost winter break.

Everyone is looking forward to seeing you.

Bring back many stories of your new life!

Bubbles read and reread the letter 'Ms Lulu,...' She thought to herself 'I loved it when you hugged me...b-because I loved you so much...' She sighed as tears made their ways down her cheeks 'If I go home now... I don't think I'll ever come back here... but' the tears rolled down, finally falling onto the picture "I want to see them..." She said aloud

Bubbles packed her things then got ready to leave, she looked back at her dorm one more time before closing the door and making her way to the school gates. She walks past the Basket ball court. She looked up when she hears someone running and shooting. She stops and stares at Boomer who was shooting baskets on his own. Boomer doesn't notice her for a while, but when he does, he drops the ball and blushes bright red "W-what are you doing here!?" He asks

Bubbles giggles and returns the question "Me? What about you? Aren't you going home?" Boomer shakes his head and sits down on the concrete "Of course not" He wipes his sweat with his hoodie and takes a deep breath "They keep calling me at the dorms, so i'm staying here instead" Bubbles stared at him then sighed "But,... the cafeteria's going to close and the power's going to be shut off too , right?" Boomer looks at her then nods "I know " He states "But there's no point in going home"

Bubbles nodded her head while muttering "I see... everyone has their own problems..." Boomer looks at her , worry in his eyes "Is something wrong?" He asks He sighs and runs his finger through his hair "Its weird...seeing you down like this... you're always so noisy"

Bubbles looks up at him 'Thats right' She said to herself 'I always said what I felt to Boomer' A loud growl interrupts their silence , making Bubbles giggle "Shoot!" starts Boomer as he blushed and looked away "I-i'm hungry, I need to find something to eat" Bubbles stops her giggling and Smiles "I have an idea Boomer" Boomer looks at her questionably as she stands up "Come on~!" He nods his head then stands up and follows after her. She leads him to the four leafed diner. the two stop at the door where there's a note in red and green 'Be back tomorrow morning, visiting our families-Brick&Butch'

Bubbles pockets the note then walks in "You don't want to go back to the dorms right? I'm sure there's something here" She walks past the tables and to the kitchen, then opens the fridge to see inside "An Old Onion, hard french bread and some cheese..." Bubbles says as she looks inside for more. Boomer looks at her while thinking 'there's nothing good...' His thought are interrupted by Bubbles who says "This'll work! I can go french~" Boomer looks at her in shock "fre-french!?" Bubbles giggled then pushes him out as he muttered "Hey don't..."

"Just go wait at a table. Okay?" Boomer complies and sits at one of the tables

'I'll cast a spell' thinks Bubbles

"First I cut the onion." She says as she does so "then I saute it with butter. Put in consomme and simmer" She finishes up "Add the french bread and cheese then toast in the oven" She does so and waits until its done

'I can forget all the bad things when I'm cooking. this is... was the only place where I belong..' She takes the bowl and sets it down on a tablei the kitchen 'Thank you ' she mutters

Meanwhile, Blaze was finishing up his duties as the school president, He waved goodbye as the vice president left. Then stopped in his tracks when he smelled something good. "That smell..." He said then followed it to the Four-leafed diner. He walks in seeing Boomer asleep at one of the tables and walks over. He wakes him up while saying "Hey Booms, you're going to catch a cold." Boomer stirred then started waking up "Mnn... Brother?" Boomer rubs his eyes then blushes bright red when he realises what had happened 'Shoot! I fell asleep!' he thinks to himself

Blaze chuckles while saying you're cute when you're asleep ~" Blaze turned to glare at him while glaring "wh-what!?"Blaze ignores his question by looking around "Its's so cold.." He says making Boomer pout in irritation "This guy...!"

Blaze looks around the room "Bubbles' here right? I can smell her cooking from outside" Boomer shrugs then walks to the kitchen "She should be in the kitchen" He says. they stop in front of a table, with the bowl of soup still hot, and a Pot of tea along with the tea cup.

"Wow! She made all this with so little?"Boomer says while taking the spoon and digging into the bowl "Gratin? no.." He takes the spoon and puts it in his mouth "It's Onion Soup! Mmm, and It's good!" Boomer sighed in contentment and smiled "It warms me up"

Blaze then took the Spoon and dug in as well. "She Toasted the cheese, that way the soup stays warm,... its her way of cooking to think about the person eating" Boomer smiled as Blaze said that, remembering everything she had done that semester "Yeah.." Boomer said as his memories faded, he looked around the kitchen "But where's the chief?" Blaze looked around as well, then noticed a folded paper under the teapot. "Hey Boomer..!" Boomer walked over and red the note

Thank you. GoodBye

Meanwhile, Bubbles was nearing the gates 'When I came here, I was so excited..' She thought to herself as she walked closer and closer. She turned around when she was at the gate, and looked back at the school. 'A new place, new people, new memories,... ' She cried as looked back at the building 'but...' She turned around and grabbed the gate making it creak and open,if just a little bit. 'I don't want to make anymore sad memories..' Bubbles opened the gate more but stopped when she heard "BUBBLES!" Boomer and Blaze closed the gate, both breathing heavily. They both turned and looked at Bubbles. Bubbles looked at them in shock "Boomer, President Blaze,..."

Boomer looked at her, half glaring "Aren't you coming back? why? Don't run away"

She looked down, letting the tears roll down her cheeks "b-but, I d-don't know..." She rubbed her eyes, trying to stop her tears. "I got in by mistake, I have no special skills.." Blaze looked at the note then ripped it in two "Then thats even more reason not to run away." He smiles then drops the pieces "You really don't realize your talent?" He traced her lips "Most chiefs can only dream of having a tongue like yours" Boomer watched on the sidelines as Blaze leaned forward his finger still on her lips "You have, An absolute sense of taste "
