Chapter 9 : Strawberry Shortcake

"Hey thats her right?" Bubbles was sitting at her desk during Lunch when she heard chatter at the door, She looked over and saw a small group of teens from other classes. "That's Bubbles right? The one going up against a pro?" There were giggles, and as Bubbles turned her head slightly, she saw Mandy and Ruby laughing.

"Finally, after tomorrow, she's leaving" Said Ruby

"Yeah, things will finally be back to normal~" Stated Mandy, a wide smirk making way onto her face. Bubbles sighed as she looked over her Math book. She was suppose to be studying but couldn't concentrate.

When class was over, Bubbles made her way to the diner, Butch and Brick were in the back talking with someone. Curiously, Bubbles made her way over and saw them chatting with a girl with short raven hair tied back into a small pony-tail. The three didn't notice her so Bubbles ended up eavesdropping.

"She stands no chance!" Stated the girl, her hand rolled up into fists. "That red head knew it too! Ugh! I knew she was pain in the ass from the beginning! " Bubbles blinked a bit and tilted her head 'what are they talking about?' she thought to herself while still watching.

"Its not like it could be helped." Brick said with a sigh "The whole school knows that Bossy would do anything for Boomer, the guys just to stupid yah know?" Butch chuckled, nodding in agreement. The girl pouted, her emerald eyes glaring at the two boys. "So you're saying this is Blondies fault for hanging around Boomer?!" The two nodded their heads without a second thought. The girl sighed angrily and punched the closest thing to her, which happened to be Butch's face. "This is stupid!" She shouted. Brick chuckled as Butch fell back, rubbing his cheek as he did so.

"That damn hurt Butterbutt!" He said while pouting. The girl glared at him "It's Buttercup! not Butterbutt you moron! How many years will it take for you to get it right!?" Brick's chuckles grew into laughs as Butch blushed in embarrassment "Shut up!" He shouted to no avail. Bubbles took this moment to walk in and with a sigh she walked over "Uhnm Brick? Butch?" The two looked up, Brick had tears in his eyes from laughing and Butch's blush had grown up to scarlet. The girl, Buttercup turned to face her and smirked. "Well well well! speak of the devil!" She said and pulled Bubbles into their little circle. The girl introduced herself as Buttercup Paige, a childhood friend of Butch and Brick. The two were older, of course, by a few years, but thats all she could get out of them. The three then chatted for a while until it was time for Bubbles and Buttercup to head back to the dorms.

Meanwhile, Blaze while walking out of his office when Boomer blocked his path. "What the hell are you thinking!?" He yelled. "Do you want her to leave that badly!?" Blaze let Boomer rant for a while longer before smirking"Are you sure you don't want her to leave?" Blaze's smirk grew wider as Boomer blushed. "D-d-d-don't be s-s-stupid! why w-would I-! I m-mean-!" Blaze chuckled once more before walking past his brother. "Don't worry, " He said "Everything will be fine." And with that being said, he left his brother a stuttering mess in the hallway.

The next day, around midday, everyone met in the school cafeteria, ready for the contest. Bubbles looked around nervously at all the people who had come as Boomer tried to think of a way to calm her down. Blaze then walked over to Bubbles and wished her luck while Blossom pouted and said he should wish her luck as well.

Blossom introduced the 'pro' chef. Francis Le buf, the main chef at Cantina. "So how is this contest going to work Blaze?" Blossom asked, her smile sweet and innocent. "Blaze smiled then turned to the audience. "This is how it'll work, both will make this " He stepped aside while pulling a box off the desk gently. Revealing a while cake topped with bright red strawberries. " with those ingredients," He then motioned to a table with flour, milk and everything needed for the cake. " After its done, well have everyone here taste both out and then they'll get in a line in front of the chef who's they liked most." Everyone nodded their heads.

Francis then walked over to the ingredients and frowned. "I can't make the cake with these ingredients!" he stated. Blossom then walked over and looked at the ingredients. she gasped and looked over at Blaze while holding up a bag of flour " He's right! these are things you'd find in a convenience store! the cake is made with things from all over france!"

While this was happening, Bubbles made her way to the cake and cut out a piece. " Mnnn~ this truly is delicious!" She stated, causing everyone to turn over and looked at her. Blossom and Boomer both exclaimed in Unison "She's eating the cake?!" Then Blossom huffed and smirked "She probably confused this for an eating contest~"

After finishing her cake Bubbles walked over to the ingredients and quickly started working on the it,Blossom and Francis did the same. Bubbles had just finished beating the eggs and set them down in the sink to cool for a bit while she continued on with the rest. But just as she was getting another Bowl, Blossom runs past her to the sink yelling "It burns!" she turned on the cold water, right above the Eggs. She smirked when Bubbles came over to check on them, her face fell. 'Its ruined' she thought while glancing up at the clock, 'I'll never finish on time now.' Blossom smirked to herself then returned to her post beside Francis who had asked her for a few things.

Boomer and Blaze noticed Bubbles had stopped working. "What's wrong with her?" asked Boomer, he noticed her work then sighed and walked over, grabbing a clean bowl and a few eggs. "Here you have to hurry right?" Bubble jumped a bit and looked over she smiled and nodded her head then continued on working while Boomer beat the eggs. Blossom complained about Boomer helping Bubbles, but after he said it wasn't fair that she was working on her own while they worked in a pair, plus, he was an ameture. The four worked on their cakes, Blossom made some mistakes but was able to finish on time.

When both cakes had cooled and their frosting had been put on, They were cut and given to the students who had come. Blossom and Francis' cake was tested first. The students all cheered, making Blossom smirk. 'I win' she thought to herself. When Bubbles and Boomer's cake was tested, everyone fell silent. Bubbles sighed and closed her eyes while looking 'I knew it, they don't like it' she thought. Just as she was about to give up, a familiar voice broke her out of her thoughts. "Bubbles" She said. Bubbles opened her eyes and saw buttercup, along with another girl with long brown hair and blue eyes. "What are you doin' with your eyes closed? Look around" And so she did. He line was longer. "I...w-won?" She looked back where the other girl was smiling "It was delicious Bubbles! I couldn't believe what I was eating!" She said. Other people nodded in agreement. "It was so good, I was speechless!"

Francis and Blossom both frowned and took a piece of Bubbles' cake, they stood speechless for a smile while, then, Francis smiled. "Yes, it sure beats my cake by a mile." Blossom looked at him and frown" How could you not make it better! its your cake!" He frowned again and looked at Blossom "Well, If my assistant didn't make too make mistakes then I could have." Blossom Blushes then frowned and stomped out of the cafeteria, her two friends followed after.

Bubbles was speaking with Buttercup, and the other girl, which she found out her was Robin, when Boomer and Blaze turned her around and said in Unison.

"Welcome to Seika Academy!" Everyone behind her cheered as Bubbles smiled Happily "Thank you" She muttered.

Considering I actually added a short scene this still came out so short!
