Steamy Bathhouse 11th floor, after school, May 21, Saturday, 10 days until New Moon.

The Investigation Team was now at the top of the dungeon. Fuuka came into the TV World with Enforcer this time and followed behind the main group, which consisted of Yu, Yosuke, Saki, and Minato. Today was quite an interesting visit since earlier a weird-looking chest had been found on the ninth floor of the dungeon.

*Flashback to when the chest was found*

The chest that Yu saw was definitely not normal. For one thing, it had tendrils on the lid and no chest key was needed. Since his Persona was currently set to Ippon-Datara, he felt confident and opened the chest. When he did, he saw that he and the rest of the team had been surrounded by four Omoikanes.

"DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DEFEAT US? OUR TREASURE IS HEAVY, BUT WE ARE SWIFT AS THE WIND. ONLY MAGIC WILL WORK. BUT, ONLY WE KNOW WHICH MAGIC WILL WORK. HOW LUCKY DO YOU FEEL? LETS FIND OUT, SHALL WE?" one of the Omoikanes taunted before it casted a Red Wall on itself. The next action was for one of the Omoikanes to cast Green Wall on itself while another Omoikane casted Blue Wall on itself. The last Omoikane to act then casted White Wall on itself.

"[I have no idea what their weaknesses are. Only they know!]" Fuuka said to everyone.

Yu decided to use Agilao on the Omoikane that used White Wall on itself and knocked it down. Deciding to guard, Saki then cast Zionga on the Omoikane that had set a Green Wall on itself, knocking it down and then casted Garula on the Omoikane that had casted Blue Wall on itself, also getting a weakness exploit before she guarded. Minato then casted Bufula on the Omoikane that had set a Red Wall on itself and knocked it down for an All-Out Attack that was, surprisingly, blocked. Yosuke guarded and then the Omoikanes got up and one of them said, "JACKPOT!" and it used a special attack called Overload on Yu, causing it to explode and it only dealt him 1 point of damage. Saki took two Overloads that also dealt a single point of damage and Minato was hit by the last Overload. The end result was that everyone who was present in combat got a ton of experience and 800,000 yen was collected.

*End flashback*

Focusing on the situation at hand, Fuuka sensed Kanji behind the door in front of them. Fuuka said to the team, "[I can detect Kanji-kun and his Shadow behind that door. Are you ready?]"

Yu said that everyone was ready and they went in. The whole team entered the room on the 11th floor. Sure enough, two Kanji Tatsumis were inside, but the team knew that one of them was a Shadow.

"There they are!" Chie exclaimed.

After a short dialogue between the two Kanjis, one of them said, "No way! There's no way in hell that you're me!" and the other responded by chuckling and saying, "Heehee. . . You're me, and there's no denying it!" and then transformed.

The real Kanji collapsed and Yukiko exclaimed, "Kanji-kun. . ." as the team moved forward.

"It's time to kick some ass! This time, I'm helping you as a guest ally." Enforcer said to Yu as the mercenary checked his ammunition and seeing that he had a full clip inside, got ready.

Shadow Kanji said, "I am a Shadow, the true self. . . I'm just being true to myself. . . and that's why. . . I'll get rid of anything in my way!"

Yukiko then asked, "Are these. . . Kanji-kun's true feelings?" only for Yosuke to reply, "This isn't really him! It's just his emotions going haywire!"

"This has nothing to do with you guys anymore! Didn't I just say I'm gonna get rid of you?" Shadow Kanji retorted.

Yu immediately had Rakshasa use a Brain Shake on Nice Guy, hitting twice and Minato followed up with a Primal Force attack from Chi You. Saki Konishi decided to use Micro Nova and then Yosuke placed a Sukukaja on her and Enforcer hit Nice Guy with burst of rifle fire just as Nice Guy casted Heat Riser on Shadow Kanji, who then Power Charged as Tough Guy tried to attack Saki, but she dodged it due to the Sukukaja effect. Yu decided to have Rakshasa use Power Charge since a skill card containing it had been used on the Persona. Minato switched over to Bishamonten and had him use a Tempest Slash on Nice Guy that criticaled and another Tempest Slash directed at the Shadow followed, killing it. Saki casted Zionga on Tough Guy as Yosuke used Dekaja to eliminate the Heat Riser from the late Nice Guy as Enforcer threw a Frag Grenade at Shadow Kanji. Shadow Kanji then used a Swift Strike attack that hit everyone except Saki and Tough Guy went for a Kill Rush on Yosuke. Yu immediately had Rakshasa Focus since with Minato's help, Yu was able to get a skill card that contained the Focus ability and registered the card with the Velvet Room before using it. Minato switched over to Thanatos and casted Megidola as Saki used another Zionga on Tough Guy and Yosuke was able to finish him off with a Garula as Enforcer threw a Flash-bang at Shadow Kanji. Shadow Kanji got angry and used a weird technique that poisoned Yu and Yosuke, but failed to poison Minato due to him having a Tome of the Void equipped and it missed Saki completely. Yu used a Dokudami Tea on himself as Minato switched back to Bishamonten and unleashed Hassohappa on Shadow Kanji and criticaled, allowing an All-Out Attack to occur that defeated the Shadow.

The day was now the 29th of May. Apparently tracking down the Fiend known as David was harder than usual since there hadn't been any funny business in the town recently. Yu hadn't mentioned it, but he had joined the School Band and befriended Ayane Matsunaga and Igor knew that the Sun Social Link had been established with her. Today was a typical day, but when the Band met, a male student wearing a red artist's hat came in and said, "Hello. My name is David and I am merely observing the band today. If there are no vacancies, then please enjoy my company today."

The leader of the band said to David, "Your company would be most beneficial. However, we have no vacancies."

After band practice was done, Yu noticed David walking towards the stairs and followed up to the rooftop. Once there, he saw the student step into an orange vortex that had not been there earlier that day. Ayane was scared and asked Yu, "Did David just walk into that vortex?" he replied yes and that it would be a bad idea to pursue him.

Ayane left. Yu then checked the second and third floors and noticed that the only members of the team that had not went home yet were Saki Konishi, Minato Arisato, and Minako Kujikawa. Instructing them to meet up on the roof, Yu then went up there and explained the situation.

"Seems that we've finally found our Fiend." Minato said, excited.

The four of them stepped into the vortex and entered the Fiend Realm. Once there, the student David noticed them and said, "Oh, I'm surprised that you came. Well then, seems that you two already suspect who I actually am."

"The Yasogami High School student known as David is your human form, but in actuality, you are the Fiend David." Minato calmly said.

"Mi- Minato?! What was that you said!?" Saki said, shocked.

"Ha ha ha ha ha! Don't be surprised, people. Minato is quite right. Just to show that, I'll take up my true form!" David said as he transformed into the Fiend that bore his namesake.

"I say, this just might be my lucky day. I'll be able to eliminate the Wild Cards and do whatever I want with the girls!" Fiend David said as he unleashed a Blight attack on everyone and poisoned Minato, also knocking down Saki since Tsunade was weak to Physical and David used the One More provided to set up a Blue Wall.

Yu immediately used a Dokudami Tea on Minato as Saki got back up and guarded. Minato focused as Minako also guarded, aware that the battle would take awhile.

Persona abilities introduced in this chapter: Hassohappa, Overload*. *Exclusive to enemies.

Hassohappa: Heavy Physical damage to all enemies. High chance of inflicting a critical hit. Power: 1700 | Accuracy: 95 | Critical: 45 | Cost: 20% HP.

Overload: kills user to deal 1 HP of damage to one enemy. Almighty elemental attack that cancels all -kaja effects on target. Exclusive to enemy Omoikane. Cost: 1 HP.

Now for something special: the enemy Omoikane.

Elemental Properties: ? (Omoikanes always get the first move as they are only encountered when a chest is opened and a Shadow pops out. A chest containing an Omoikane encounter has tendrils on it. When encountered, there are four enemy Omoikane. Each one will cast a different elemental wall. That Omoikane is weak to the element opposite of the color wall they cast; ex. an Omoikane casts Red Wall, that specific one is weak to Ice and vice-versa; ex. if Green Wall is cast, the Omoikane is weak to Elec and vice-versa.)

Frag Grenade: inflicts light Almighty damage to one enemy and reduces defense by 40% for three turns.

Flash-bang: lowers one enemy's hit/evasion by 40% for three turns and damages SP.
