A/N: Yes, it's another flashback chapter. This one actually takes some elements from Trauma Center: Under the Knife because this flashback is set in 1999 when Minato's parents had died even though the chronology of Trauma Center and Persona don't match up. You might also think that the story is bullshit, but this is my story. I do this because I like writing my own stories. If you don't like it, then go away.

Disclaimer: I do not own Trauma Center or Persona, they are the property of Atlus.

Moonlight Bridge, 1999, Dark Hour.

Gunfire could be heard amongst the sounds of battle as Gorkonov caught a six-year-old auburn-haired girl after the vehicle she was in crashed and was unceremoniously thrown out by the sheer force of the resulting explosion. Setting her down, Gorkonov immediately set to work applying first aid before a modified Stryker arrived and four other soldiers came out.

One of the soldiers that arrived said, "We heard reports of fighting in the area, but what's going on?"

Gorkonov replied, "The Kirijo Group has a lot to explain once the situation is under control. Anyways, we need to get this girl back to base ASAP! I've already applied first aid, but we have to hurry."

After getting a stretcher ready, the auburn-haired girl was put on it and carried into the APC before it drove off to a nearby base. Once there, a non-combatant by the name Redwell was waiting inside an operation room when the girl was brought in and laid onto the operating table.

"Who is she?" Redwell asked.

"We're trying to figure that out. Activate that machine!" the soldier who brought her in barked as he pointed at a mechanical device above the operating table.

Typing a command into a computer in the room, the device hummed to life and scanned the girl before the computer started searching for possible matches as to who she was before landing on one result that matched: Minako Kujikawa.

"She was given first aid before being transported here. Gorkonov suspects that there are still injuries and he reports that he was unable to treat some of the injuries present, so you'll have to operate on her.

"Understood. Scanning for injuries now." Redwell said as he scanned Minako for injuries and found a surprising amount.

"What's the results of the scan?" the soldier asked.

"She's in critical condition! We'll have to begin operating now!"

Another non-combatant ran in and said, "Redwell, I'll help you with this."

"Good to have you working with me, Inami. Now then, let's begin the briefing." Redwell replied.

"Alright, here's what we know about our patient according to the data:" Inami explained.

Name: Minako Kujikawa

Height: 104 cm

Weight: 21 kg

Current condition: Critical

Age: 6

Relatives: Rise Kujikawa, [Unknown father], [Unknown mother].

Medical history: Typical stuff found for any average six-year-old Japanese girl.

"As we know already, Miss Minako is currently in critical condition. There are multiple external and internal wounds that Gorkonov was unable to treat. Lacerations, blood pools, and fractured bones have all been detected. This operation has three objectives: Drain the blood pools, suture the lacerations, and reform the fractured bones. Did I miss anything?"

Gorkonov came in and said, "One detail was missed: the vehicle she was in exploded and tossed her out, so it's likely that there will be internal bleeding and foreign objects inside her wounds. There are also several burns on her body that I was unable to treat."

"Now we know everything about this. Let's begin the operation." Redwell said.

"One last thing: the antibiotic gel has been perfected and tested. It is now ready to use." Inami said.

"So how does it work?"

"The gel is used to disinfect any wounds after they have been treated as well as to prevent any incisions made from getting infected. It also raises the vitals of the patient slightly as a side effect of its primary use and its use is enough to treat small wounds and prevent larger cuts from hemorrhaging."

"Sutures, drain, forceps, and relevant tools are ready. I'm leaving her in your hands, Redwell. Good luck." Gorkonov said as he left.

It took about four minutes to treat the burns and other external injuries that Minako had. Then the first incision was made on her left leg which revealed blood pools and bone fragments embedded inside. Making sure to drain the blood out and disinfect the area after removing the bone fragments, Redwell used the forceps to restructure the bone and applied antibiotic gel over the whole thing before closing the incision up and suturing it before disinfecting it again and putting a bandage on it. He then repeated the procedure on the right leg before treating the burns on her body and then making an incision on her chest which revealed major fracturing of the rib-cage and a blood pool covering a large wound. After draining the blood, Redwell used the forceps to close the wound into a single laceration that was sutured and disinfected before removing the rib-cage fragments and dealing with any lacerations that came up, also injecting some of the stabilizer into Minako whenever her vitals went low. He then reformed the rib-cage and applied antibiotic gel on the whole thing before suturing the incision and disinfecting it before putting a bandage on it. Making an incision into her left shoulder revealed metal fragments that had to be removed as well as small cuts that were easily remedied by antibiotic gel. The incision was sutured quickly and then disinfected before a bandage was applied and then the process was repeated for the right shoulder.

It took five seconds until ten minutes had passed since the operation began before all internal injuries were treated. Satisfied, Redwell said, "Operation complete. The patient is safe."

Gorkonov then said, "We'll have to take her in. The world is not ready for us yet so we'll send a story that she died in the accident to the media in order to cover our tracks."
