In no time, Bunny and Meta Knight had, once again for Meta Knight, arrived at the forest. "The trail leads here," Bunny muttered, "Just at dusk, too."
Indeed, the sun was already dipping low on the horizon, the moon already fully visible.
"There isn't much time left in the day, we hafta move quickly." Bunny brought out her lightsword and plunged into the forest, slashing at anything that got in the way.
More than what one could count on two hands Bunny made tight turns around trees and long jumps over roots and ditches, and it did not take her too long to stop and listen intently with all six of her ears. Presumably hearing what she expected, Bunny whispered, "They're within a hundred feet of us. I'ma jump 'em and get the mask, 'kay?"
Meta Knight nodded silently.
Bunny sneaked on tiptoes the rest of the way and soon came to the boulder Meta Knight had visited many times that day. She hopped on top, touching down without sound. Her ears perked up when she heard a muffled voice from inside, and she prepared herself at the doorway of the stone.
Yin-Yarn came out of the boulder and pandiculated, but his mouth was covered and his arms pinned behind him as he struggled frantically, but to no avail. Bunny gagged Yin-Yarn with a chunk of fabric and hung him upside down on a tree branch where he would not cause any trouble, and Meta Knight reveled in the sweet irony.
Bunny returned to the boulder and mentally counted to three before she charged in, brandishing her lightsword at a shocked Drawcia, who parried the strike with her paintbrush as Meta Knight rolled away so as to not interfere. It had been a long time since he had felt so helpless, but he did not let it show as he cheered Bunny on.
At one point, Bunny threw a knife at Drawcia, who dodged in front of Meta Knight, and the strap of the mask Fumu had made for him was sliced, his mask falling to the ground, but he did not notice because he was so engrossed in the fight, and his mind was elsewhere.
Drawcia dodged a boomerang and ended up directly across the room from Meta Knight, and when her eyes made contact with him even she, who had been on exciting edge all day, let down her guard in astonishment. "Oh my..."
While Drawcia was gaping at Meta Knight and his true appearance, Bunny brandished two knives and pinned Drawcia to the wall by her cloak. "Gotcha!"
Drawcia gasped, realizing she had been distracted, and struggled to lift herself off the wall, but she could not because Bunny was working on pinning the rest of her cloak to the wall.
Once she was finished, Bunny stood back with her hands on her hips. "What do you have to say for yourself?" Hesitating a moment, Bunny straightened her hands and crossed them over her chest while she closed her eyes in a muttered spell. Drawcia, who had secretly been trying to dislodge a knife, could not continue as her psychic powers were taken away momentarily.
"Where is it, lady?" Bunny interrogated threateningly.
Drawcia chuckled a bit as she answered, "You need it a lot for a face like that."
Not realizing this statement was not directed at her, Bunny instead brought out her mace, causing Drawcia to surrender immediately, "Okay, okay, left side, my left, at the very bottom."
Bunny kneeled and fished through Drawcia's cloak and pulled out the silver disc they had hunted for for so long. "Okay, now I'll give you your psychokinesis back only if you turn him back to normal. Anything else and your face will meet this mace."
Drawcia cringed but sighed in relief when her powers came rushing back at her. She picked up her paintbrush, muttering something about how she can tell when she was defeated. She shot a warm-lighted beam at Meta Knight, and his paws and feet slowly morphed back into their place and his size expanded until he was his normal height.
Bunny nodded approvingly, facing Drawcia the entire time, before she turned around and blushed immediately at what she saw. Only then did Meta Knight realize his paper plate had fallen to the ground and a knife was sticking out of the wall behind him. He covered his eyes and mouth to the best of his ability with his small, bare paws, but he knew he had already been seen more than enough times that day and that there was no going back.
Meta Knight sucked in a breath. He might as well walk out of this with as much dignity as he could, so he strode forward, thanked Bunny, who was still gaping, took the mask and secured it to his face. He noticed he was wobbling a bit on his feet, probably because he had not had them all day.
"And now we may take our leave," Meta Knight stated quietly as he turned to the door. "Coming?"
Bunny looked between the knight and Drawcia, who was having great difficulty in breaking free of the knives. After a long silence, she followed him. "... Yeah..."
And so, the two finally made it out of the forest back to the castle, taking a shortcut through the town because there was not any worry of being seen there. Fumu greeted them at the gate and handed Meta Knight his clothes back, and he took them gratefully, putting them on as Bunny watched him.
"Wow Meta Knight, I didn't think you'd be so threatening on the outside when your face-" Bunny cut herself off when a red-eyed glare appeared where she was looking. "Ah, what I meant to say was, was that you said you'd get me home if I got your form and mask back."
Meta Knight was just about to answer that Kirby could give her a ride back to her home planet because the Warp Star could handle vacuums as well as supply its passengers with air, but Bunny snapped her fingers in realization. "Oh wait! That's right! Alternative!"
Meta Knight's eyes widened at the word, actually recognizing it from a legend he had heard about it. "Bunny, that is not necess-"
Bunny nodded. "Nah, it's okay guys, I can do it!" Bunny seemed to chant a spell in her mind as Meta Knight yelled at her to stop, but it was too late. A burst of white blossomed, enveloping Bunny, Meta Knight and Fumu and everything around them as Meta Knight continued shouting for Bunny to stop, but his cries were cut off when he felt a tingling all over his body.
Meta Knight was walking along a path near Whispy's forest, exhausted from commanding his forces on the Halberd day and night. He was wearing a special mask made for sleeping, and he could not help but have a sense of deja vu as his foot got pulled up by a rope hanging from a tree.
Alternative is an ability learned at the very end of Bunny Must Die as some of you may know, and it is used when Bunny died (as Bunny must die) against her final boss, and the power of Alternative unlocked Chelsea and the Seven Devils, so now you play as Chelsea.
17/1/31 Notes: Hey guys, this is Houdini124. You've noticed my inactivity, I'm sure. I just wanted to thank you all for your feedback on this fic. I'm not sure if I'll ever continue it, but lately I've looped back around to writing for Kirby, so you may expect some stories. I started this one story around the last time I updated this one and started working on it again recently, and it's… Something. I'm sorry for my inactivity. I'm shocked at how positive the results on this fic are, and may be the reason I continue, in the distant future. You won't see anything from me for a while as I am a slower writer, but rest assured, I will make a comeback someday. And if I do continue this story, it will be taken more seriously and be less of a crackfic, and Meta Knight may turn into a dragon.
