Chapter Nine

Olivia made her way to the office and sent Jake a text quickly about their lunch and thought she made it perfectly clear that nothing was going to ever happen with them and for him to text her in the middle of the night was unacceptable and she knew what game he was playing at and it wouldn't work.

Once she got to her office she made the call to her doctors office and set up an appointment. She decided to send Fitz a quick message about her appointment.

OP: Hey, I missed you this morning. I called the doctor and they can see me tomorrow at two. If you would like to come I want you to come. Not sure what they will do but I want you to be there with me.

I also sent a message to Jake that lunch would not happen again and that him texting me in the middle of the night is not acceptable. Oh, and I love you.

Fitz was getting some coffee at the corner cafe and sitting outside when he felt his phone go off.

Fitz: Good morning, I missed you too. I will be there at the appointment, glad they could fit you in so fast. We will talk about Jake later, not over text messaging. I am going to go to the court house this morning so I will see you there. I love you too baby.

Olivia was happy he texted her back and that he was going with her tomorrow. She finished up some things at the office before heading to the court house. It was going to be a tough day with putting Michael on the stand.

Fitz was getting angrier and angrier at the DA questioning Michael. When it was his turn to get Michael he questioned him about his phone records placing him far away from the crime and asking what he was doing. Michael said he was with a friend that couldn't testify. About that time the doors to the court room opened up and Micheal's half sister walks in and sits down close to Olivia. She knew that Olivia knew about her existence. She slipped her a piece of paper that she would testify on his behalf.

Olivia reached over the railing and handed the piece of paper to Abby and she smiled.

Once Fitz knew what was happening he asked for a recess until the morning due to a new witness and had to allow the prosecution to get themselves ready for questioning.

Olivia waited around as Fitz got his things together. Once he was done he walked over to her.

"Hi, how did you get her to come and testify?"

"I didn't she decided that it wasn't worth him going to jail to not expose herself. She told me she has talked to her adoptive parents and that all will come out and she is okay with that." Olivia said grabbing her purse. "Do you want to go grab a late lunch?"

Fitz looked at her, "We can have lunch beautiful. I am not happy with you but I love you so don't act like it is a chore for me to go with you. It will give us time to talk about Jake and what questions we will ask Micheal's sister tomorrow."

Olivia smiled and grabbed for his hand. "Come on, the baby needs some food."

Fitz kissed her hand and they made their way to lunch. They first discussed the questions for tomorrow in court and that he would leave and let Abby finish if they were still there when it was time for her appointment. After all that was settled the conversation moved to Jake.

"So, tell me when and why you had lunch with him Liv?"

Olivia shifted in her seat and looked down at her plate. "It was a few days after we ran into him at the bar. He emailed me and texted me about lunch so I met with him. We talked and I made it clear that I was in love with you and that I was marrying you. I left and had not heard from him until last night when he texted again."

"All, I want to know is two things. One, why did you go? And two, why didn't you tell me you were going?"

"I didn't tell you because I knew you wouldn't like it or worse go to the restaurant and watch my every move. I was wrong not to tell you even after it was over but I thought I made myself clear that nothing would ever be between us again. I am sorry I kept it from you." Olivia reached across the table to grab his hand.

"Liv, you have to stop keeping things from me or we will be done eventually. A person can only take so much. I love you, I am with you all the way. I need you to be in this with me." Fitz squeezed her hand and looked at her.

Olivia was looking at him and had tears in her eyes. Fitz hated to see her like that.

"Fitz, I am in this. I promise. I love you more than anything and I am with you too."

A few tears ran down her cheeks and she wiped them away quickly. Fitz moved his hand to her cheek to rub it.

"No tears, we will be okay. We just have to talk to each other Liv. Now, have you had enough to eat?"

"Yes, me and the little bambino have had enough." Olivia looked down again. "Are you going to come home with me or stay at your place again?"

Fitz had a huge grin on his face. "Well, I think I would like to come home with you. We have some make up sex to have."

Olivia laughed, "We are not having sex until after the appointment so you take that smirk off your face. I am not going into the doctors office tomorrow with evidence that I just had sex."

"Liv, I need you. They do know how that baby was made so I am sure they have seen the evidence of people having sex before given the nature of their jobs."

"Its not happening baby. Get that thought out of your mind."

"Liv, you are killing me. Its been days and now you have this look about you that I can't resist."

"Fitz, you only have to wait less than twenty four hours and I am all yours to do whatever you want. Just think about that tonight." Olivia gave Fitz a devilish smile.

Olivia stopped by the store on her way home and as she was taking the groceries to her car Jake is standing against her car. Olivia let out a breath and stopped for a minute to send Fitz a quick text.

OP: First, I am fine. Came out of the store and Jake is against my car. Going to make sure he gets the message this time. Be home in a about twenty minutes.

Olivia locked her phone and began walking to her car again.

"I hope you weren't calling the police on me." As he moved to the back of her car opening the door.

Olivia placed the bags in the car. "Jake, you have to stop this. I am sorry I hurt you but we are done. I am marrying Fitz. Please move past this. You will find someone who will love you."

Jake grabbed her arm and pulled her near his body. "Olivia, please. Give me another chance. You can't love this guy."

"Let me go Jake, you hurting my arm." Olivia didn't hear the car door slam but all she felt was someone else grab her and then she saw Fitz hitting Jake over and over again.

"STOP! Fitz stop!" Olivia was crying.

Fitz turned to her and saw the look on her face and he stopped. He got up and yelled at Jake to leave her alone and if he ever tried anything like that again he would kill him the next time. Fitz grabbed the bags from Olivia's car and moved her to his car.

"Get in. We will come for your car in the morning." Fitz said opening the door for her.

They drove for about five minutes with no words spoken. Fitz finally put his hand on her thigh and rubbed his thumb slowly on her leg.

"Fitz, we have to make sure he is okay. There was a lot of blood."

Fitz looked at her. "He is fine, I just broke his nose. That is why there was so much blood."

Olivia grabbed his hand that was on her leg. "Okay, I have to text him Fitz. I have to know you didn't hurt him more than that. He was out of line but I don't want him hurt."

"Fine Olivia. Text him. I don't care."

"Baby, I love you but there was a lot of blood and that scares me." Olivia said getting her phone.

Olivia sent Jake a text making sure he was okay and that if he ever came near her again she would call the police on him. He sent one back saying he was fine but that he was sure his nose was broken. He apologized for grabbing her. Olivia showed Fitz his response and that seemed to calm him down some.

They took the groceries in the house and Olivia made her way to change clothes.

Fitz heard her scream and he flew up the stairs.

"Liv, what is it."

"Fitz, there is some blood in my underwear." Olivia cried out.

All the color drained from Fitz as he ran over to her. "Calm down baby, we will head to the hospital and they will check you out. It is probably nothing. Just stay calm."

As they sat in the room waiting on the doctor to come back she wouldn't stop crying.

"I didn't know I wanted something so bad. I can't lose our baby Fitz."

He moved to wrap his arms around her.

"Shh, baby. We are not losing the baby. Lets not think like that. Lets wait for what the doctor says." Fitz kissed her cheek.

The doctor entered the room a few minutes later.

"Miss Pope, Mr. Grant. You are spotting some but that is common in the early stages of pregnancy. Everything looks fine other than that. I will suggest you take it easy for a few days but your counts are looking good. I see no need to worry. Sometimes stress can cause issues so again, please watch what you are putting your body through especially in the early stages."

Olivia cried some more and was so happy the baby was okay.

"Thank you so much doctor, I have an appointment with my OBGYN tomorrow." Olivia said grabbing her clothes.

The doctor told her to let the front desk know and they would send the information they had over to her doctor for her appointment. Fitz thanked the doctor and helped Olivia get dressed.

"Fitz, I can put on my shoes." She laughed out.

"You heard the doctor Liv, take it easy. That means you do nothing. You are officially off work for the next few days or nine months if I have anything to do with it."

"I can't be off, we are in a murder trial and a new witness is taking the stand tomorrow."

"This is not up for discussion Olivia. Our priority is this baby and you miss are on lock down." Fitz kissed her lips gently and smiled.

"I'm not going to win this one am I? I will do what you say. Bambino and I will lay in the bed and let you rub my feet."

"Rub your feet huh? I will be happy to. Now, are you hungry? Lets stop by and get some burgers and fries."

Olivia stopped him before they left the room "thank you baby. You are the best. Thanks for keeping me calm and not fainting on me, I saw how you went pale but you stepped it up and took care of me again. And...with those burgers and fries, the bambino I think wants a chocolate shake." Kissing him gently on the lips.

"I love you Olivia Pope and I think a shake can be arranged if I get another kiss." Fitz said leaning down to kiss her.

They made their way to the car hand in hand and all smiles. Once home with dinner, Fitz made her sit on the couch and he brought her everything she wanted or needed. They watched TV shows they never get a chance to watch and just snuggled with Olivia sitting between his legs. He finally noticed she had fallen asleep and picked her up to move her to the bed. Olivia woke a little but fell right back asleep once he covered her up.

Fitz made sure she was down when he went back downstairs to call Abby and Cyrus to let them know what happened. Cyrus was shocked that she was pregnant but glad she was okay. Fitz let them know she would be out the rest of the week but had an appointment tomorrow that he would not miss. Both Abby and Cyrus agreed to do whatever needed to be done.

It was after midnight before he went back upstairs to go to bed and when he got to the bedroom Olivia wasn't in the bed. He walked to the bathroom and saw her standing there with her top off looking down at her stomach with her hand rubbing it. She kept saying something but he couldn't make it out so he moved closer when he heard her.

"Baby, please stay safe in there until you are ready. Your Daddy and I want to see you so bad but you have to keep in there and Mama will promise to do everything she needs to do." Olivia didn't see Fitz until he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.

"Liv, you are the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I hope you know that." Fitz kissed her shoulder. "Now, get a shirt on because I can't take you naked and talking to my unborn child like that and me not want to ravish you."

Olivia laughed out, "Okay, can I wear one of your t-shirts then? I think I sleep better when I wear your clothes."

Now Fitz was laughing "Sure babe. Here you go as he pulled the one he was wearing off. By the way, Cyrus knows you are pregnant. I called him and told him what was going on and that we are not telling anyone yet so he needed to keep it to himself. Also, Abby is coming here in the morning to watch you until I can get here to take you to the doctor."

"Coming to watch me? Fitz, I am not a child. I can sit and do what I am told." Olivia said throwing the covers back.

"Liv, I know that, I just want someone here with you just in case. That's all baby. Don't be mad at me."

"I am not mad, I just don't want to be treated like a child. I understand your concern so tomorrow that is fine but the rest of my lock down as you say I am here with you or by myself. I don't need a babysitter."

Fitz got in the bed smiling cause he just thought she was just so cute.

"What are you smiling at Fitzgerald? Its not funny. I hate you." Olivia smiled as she laid down and turned her back to him.

Fitz pulled her towards him as he got into bed. "I know you hate me...only because I am right." They both laughed out and Olivia turned to him to kiss him goodnight.

The next morning Fitz was getting ready for court when Olivia woke up.

"Good morning beauty. How are you feeling today?" Fitz asked leaning down to kiss her.

"Good morning, I am feeling hungry."

Fitz laughed, "Okay, I will go make you some breakfast."

Olivia walked downstairs and into the kitchen but quickly ran into the bathroom and Fitz was running behind her. He found her throwing up.

"What is it baby, what do you need." He grabbed a towel and wet it and put it on her neck.

"Its the smell of whatever you are cooking, you got to get it out of here." Before she could say anything else she was throwing up again.

Fitz got rid of the food and opened the door for Abby and then they both went into the bathroom.

Olivia was rinsing out her mouth. "I can' t believe I got sick. I have been feeling fine."

Abby shook her head, "Liv, not really. Do you remember when we sat and ate lunch the other day and you said something about feeling queasy? It was that baby, you just didn't know it then. Now he or she is getting bigger and taking over."

Fitz grabbed her hand and pulled her to the kitchen. "How about some fruit and yogurt."

"We will see." Olivia sat and ate as Fitz finished his coffee. "This seems to be working. Hope the baby likes it in a little while."

Olivia and Abby sat around talking until Olivia needed to get ready for the doctor. When Fitz got there to pick her up he was smiling so wide.

"I take it court went well." Abby said as she was putting her shoes on.

"Yes, better than I could have hoped. There is no way he will be found guilty. I just hope it will be over soon. I want to take Olivia away for a long weekend once she is feeling better and the doctor says it is okay." Fitz ran upstairs to change and when he got up to the bedroom Olivia was sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Liv, you okay?"

"Hi, I am fine. Just trying to take in this moment. I have never done that before in my life. I am always on all cylinders and shut off. Now, this baby has slowed me down and is making me take in the moments. I mean we are about to go to the doctor and get a picture of our baby Fitz. Isn't that amazing?" Olivia moved to him and hugged him tight.

Fitz kissed her lips and smiled, "Glad you are taking in the moment Liv. I know, I can't wait to see her."

Olivia pulled back from him, "her? You think it is a girl?"

"Yes I do." He kissed her again. "Come on Mama, lets get you to the doctor."

The doctor examined Olivia and then moved to get the ultra sound set up. She spread the gel on Olivia's stomach and moved the wand over her.

"Wow" the doctor said.

"What, Olivia asked, what do you see, I don't see anything." there was panic in her voice. "Dr. Lee, tell me what is going on."

Fitz squeezed her hand to calm her.

Dr. Lee looked at them both and turned the monitor to them. "Olivia, I don't know how to tell you this but I see three babies in there. See, one, two and three."

"Olivia...Olivia." Fitz was calling her name with no response.

Olivia said nothing as she got dressed and Fitz and the doctor talked.

"finish getting dressed and we will meet in my office once you are done." Dr. Lee said leaving the room.

Fitz grabbed Olivia's face in his hands. "Liv, I need you to look at me and say something."

Olivia looked at him, "You and your damn super powers. Move out of my way."

They turned to leave the room and Fitz was smiling ear to ear behind her.
