Disclaimer: What am I missing here? Oh! Right! I don't own the rights to FMA, FMA BBI, and Harry Potter. And oh my goodness, it's been quite some time since I wrote another chapter, let me explain, life and school got in the way, I finished my first read through of the whole Harry Potter series last month, and I'm still trying to find my copy of Goblet of Fire. Mainly, this chapter is another one of the scenarios without Harry, Ron (well, Ron appears at the end of the main chapter, but he's not a big part), and Hermione in it, so, let's just say, Hohenheim's in it, in a way...also, I've written a pretty interesting bonus chapter for after this Chapter's over. Now, onto the main story!
Chapter 8: A "Short" Return
-The Next Day-
"Pride." Said the figure of Edward Elric that was in front of Pride.
"...Edward...what're you...doing here...?" Asked Pride.
"Just thinking and killing time." Said Edward, taking a seat next to the homunculus that's in control of his body.
"...I...see..." Said Pride blankly.
"Pride, how're things going at this school for you so far? What do you think of it?" Asked Edward.
"...I...guess it's...alright..." Said Pride.
"Well, let me tell you this, it may be good to skip breakfast today, and take care of your homework today with Envy. Trust me, he'll be able to help you out." Said Edward, getting up, and holding his hand out to help Pride up, and the homunculus took it. "See you later, Pride."
"...Bye...Edward..." Said Pride, as Edward faded away, and woke up again, but this time, Envy was awake, petting Pride's head.
That morning, Envy and Pride decided to skip breakfast in favour of trying to get some homework done in their dorm (Envy was kind of resistant to the idea at first, but once Envy was talked into it by his boyfriend, he gave in easily).
When the two got to working on the potions homework, there was a tapping on the window. Envy looked at it to see an owl pecking at it, so, he opened the window to let it in out of curiosity.
"An owl...what's it doing here?" Envy mumbled to himself.
"Oh, they deliver messages from one person to another. Check it's leg, Will." Said the voice of Dumbledore, who was at the door.
"Dumbledore, what're you doing up here?" Asked Envy.
"I'm just here to tell you tonight we have another lesson." Said the old wizard.
"Okay." Said Envy, grabbing the parchment from the owl's leg, and quickly skimmed through it. "It's from Hohenheim..."
"...What...does he...want...?" Asked Pride, looking up from his paper blankly.
"He wants us to give a report of how things are going...Dumbledore, how're we supposed to do that?" Asked Envy, putting the parchment on the desk next to the owl, who was starring into space.
"Just send a written report to him with an owl." Said Dumbledore calmly.
"Isn't there a quicker way?" Said Envy.
"Well, yes, but it may be a bit uncomfortable..." Stated Dumbledore. "I'll show you it after the lesson, all right?"
"Fine." Said Envy.
As the third lesson went on, Envy's skills were getting better, though, his spells would occasionally get weaker, but overall, he was doing pretty well. Pride, on the other hand, he was slowly getting better.
Once the lesson was over, Dumbledore decided to show the homunculi how to contact Hohenheim.
"Just throw this in a fire place, knell on the ground, say the name of where you want to go, and you should have contact." Said Dumbledore, handing Envy a bag of some sort of powder.
At midnight, Envy and Pride decided to try it out, threw some powder in the fire place in the Gryffindor common room.
"Hey, Hohenheim." Said Envy.
"Wha...Envy...how...is Pride with you?" Asked the confused blonde haired man.
"Yeah, but you only wanted a report, and I just thought I'd report to you in the quickest way possible." Said Envy, sounding bored.
"...Alright, how's everything going?" Asked Hohenheim.
"Okay, I guess." Said Envy.
"So, are you watching over that Harry Potter?" Asked Hohenheim.
"When we're near him, we do, yeah. Though, to be honest, I don't like one of his friends." Said Envy.
"Well, don't kill that person, just go along the year like it's normal." Said Hohenheim.
"Hey, Will, Ed...um...who're you talking to? And what're you doing?" Asked Ron, walking into the common room.
"Um...we were just sitting here, talking about life! Just head on upstairs, Ron." Said Envy.
"Okay." Said Ron, walking to his dormitory.
After a minute, Envy looked into the fire to see he was starting to burn. Pride was looking worried, trying to pat the fire off of Envy. As Pride got rid of the fire, Envy kept his mouth closed, suppressing a yell and let the burnt parts of his top body regenerate.
"...Envy...are you...okay..?" Asked Pride, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's nothing, Chibi." Said Envy, confusing Pride for the real Ed for a moment.
Then suddenly, Pride sat still, his eyes started looking less dull, and more like the actual Edward's eyes.
"What the? Envy?! How'd I get here?" Said the familiar voice of Envy's Chibi coming from Pride's body.
"Are...are you really...?" Asked Envy, his eyes watering.
"Yeah, Envy, it's me, Ed. Pride wasn't lying when he said my soul was still here." Said Ed, jumping and hugging Envy.
"Ed...Chibi..." Said Envy, hugging Ed back, only to realise Ed was Pride again.
"...Envy...what just...happened..?"
Asked Pride, confused.
"You were right, Ed's soul is inside you." Said Envy, letting his tears fall.
"...But...do you...still...love me?" Asked Pride, sounding a bit scared.
"Yes, I still do love you, and I always will, but it's just weird, seeing a former lover's soul taking over a body temporarily." Said Envy, whipping his own tears away, and decided to give Pride a kiss.
That was the newest chapter, Everyone. Ed'll appear more pretty soon, this was just introducing the idea that he can be summoned through words relating to Ed's lake of height! =^.^= And I do plan on writing more, once I find my copy of Goblet of Fire. Up next, the bonus chapter!
