Here it is everybody! The fourth chapter, and the end (kind of) of the story. Only the epilogue next, which I swear I will upload soon.

Sorry, I've been so busy! My mom and I were making a Confessor's Dress (Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind or Legend of the Seeker. Who's read?) for a sort of Cosplay (yes, I'm a geek), and maybe for Renaissance dress since it's old fashioned. It's a lot of work but we're almost there.

Also, we went to a baseball game which took up like five hours of the day. Kansas City Royals vs Atlanta Braves (oh god, I hope that was the other team). Go Royals, we won (I hope. We didn't stay the entire time XD).

School's out so shame on me for not updating anything but thanks for anyone who stayed with me.

Also thanks to anybody who cared to read this (maybe review, say some thoughts). Tell me if you actually read this, please, or if I should just not talk about my life. :P

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REVIEW

Rose's POV

My hair whipped around my face as I stared at the beautiful beach house. It was modern and sprawled across the rocky island. I wish now that I hadn't hurt Adrian as I had and that everything would be back to normal. I took a deep breath and walked up to the door, knocking lightly and waiting. I heard footsteps coming from the other side of the door, and then the large oak entrance opened.

I let out a breath I hadn't known I'd been holding and looked up to see a tall human boy. His chin length black hair couldn't hide the marks covering his neck, old and new. Not only that, but there was also a look of eternal euphoria in his blue-grey eyes. A feeder, whom was obviously also a caretaker when the Ivashkovs didn't occupy the home.

He looked down at me and I cleared my throat, "I'm Rose. Is Adrian here?"

"Yes. I shall take you to him," the feeder took a step back and invited me in. I stepped in, careful not to touch him. Feeders unnerved me, with there dazed, cloudy eyes and vacant mind. I brushed some hair away from my eyes and followed the feeder.

The lights were all off but my eyes were already accustomed to the night outside. I took in the rooms we passed; I wasn't only looking for exits but places to hide. We first entered a large living room which was bare but for a modern white seating set and a flat screen tv. The ceilings was high above, with aesthetic beams. Doors on one side of the room led to what could only be a porch overlooking a small inlet of the island.

Next we travelled into the kitchen, which had all the most expensive and almost futuristic appliances. It looked to be newly redone. The feeder opened a door that led into dingy basement stairs. Cobwebs hung in all the corners and I rolled my eyes. Of course the evil vampire Strigoi would hold Lissa captive in the basement. I mean, how cliche?

Still, I followed the feeder down the stairs and into a short hallway that led to three different rooms. The feeder tapped on one door, "Lord Ivashkov? (A/N is that how he would address Adrian? I can't remember...) The girl has arrived to see you."

"Let her in, Alexander, then leave to your rooms. We won't need you tonight," Adrian's voice called from the other side of the door.

The feeder opened the door for me. I stepped in and heard the feeder retreat into the household as the door shut behind him. I felt like I wouldn't leave this room as I came in.

I took in the room. It was large and spacious, with light brown walls. Adrian lounged on a huge bed which could easily hold four people. The red comfortable looked soft, as if you could just fall into it like clouds. Adrian's eyes were locked on my face, his pale skin contrasting with the dark red sheets. Though I knew what he was, I was shocked to see the crimson ring around the eyes instead of the beautiful green.

My curiousity to find Lissa was sated when I saw her lying to the right of the bed. She seemed to be...chained... to the wall. She was unconscious, or asleep. I could see a bite on her neck, dried blood crusted under her blonde hair. Her skin was paler than usual.

"Little dhampir..." Adrian's voice called to me and I looked again at him. "You actually came." His voice was cold, chilling.

"I have to save Lissa, right?" I answered immediately.

He laughed, "What if it's too late? What if I turned her?" I shook my head. He wouldn't do that. I knew that but, as I looked into his eyes, uneasiness settled in my stomach.

"Let her go," I whispered softly and looked at Lissa. I started when I felt his cold hand run over my cheek lightly. I gasped and moved away. "Let her go first." My voice cracked in what could only be called weakness.

He shrugged, "Fine." He walked over to Lissa's bonds and used a key to unlock them from each wrist. Lissa moaned and I moved to her side, not caring about the proximity to my Strigoi ex. I took her face in my hands.

"Liss? You okay?" I asked, looking at her. Her eyes fluttered open and relief flooded into me. He hadn't made her into one of them.

"Blood..." She whispered softly and struggled to keep her eyes on me. "He drank from me..." She could barely hold her head up. "I need blood."

I nodded and without a second thought, flicked my hair to the side and pulled her head to my neck. I felt a slight hesitation before Lissa's fangs sunk into my neck. A sharp pain, then the euphoria swept through my body. I moaned softly, wishing she would never stop. It was so close to the years we were on the run from the Academy. If only it was then, maybe I could change things...

All too soon, the euphoria left me and she pulled away. Dizzily, I looked at Lissa, who seemed to be revived, "Liss, you have to leave her. Hurry. Get to the city and find the guardians there. Their looking for you."

"I'm not leaving you." She whispered.

I nodded, "Yes, you are. You have to. This is bigger than just you, or me. You are the Queen of the Moroi. You must make the changes for the good of our people. If I become Strigoi...then DImitri will come after me, or you'll train Spirit users with the stakes. If you die, it's all over." I could see the reluctance in her eyes before she nodded and ran from the room.

I began to stand once she was gone but suddenly there was a cold, hard body against my back, strong arms encircling my waist. Soft breath brushed against my neck and I stiffened. Adrian's emotionless chuckle came from my right.

"Little dhampir... Why let her drink but not me?" His fangs brushed my neck and it took all my might to not hit him on the spot. But I couldn't- at least, not until Lissa had time to run.

I turned my head slightly, "Do you really still want me, even after what I did? Why not another girl?"

"No other girl incites any desire, Rose." He answered easily and I felt him kiss my jaw. I could almost pretend he was the man I'd fallen in a sort of love with but the ethereal cruelty in his voice, his motions, and his eyes would always betray reality in dreams.

I weighed my options though decided that the two minutes I'd given Lissa, probably plus the ten for the fight, would get enough time for her to leave the island.

"I will never be yours, Adrian. Never again." I elbowed him in the gut and he shrank back. I turned quickly and got onto the other side of the room, across the bed, as quick as possible. He couldn't fight; however, he was faster and stronger than I. Hell, he was faster than Dimitri when he was a Strigoi.

I dodged his fangs easily, yet every time I got away, he was one step ahead, ten seconds quicker. He backed me into a corner and my heart pounded in my chest.

He lunged for me and I ducked under his arm, running towards the other side of the room. Suddenly, Adrian was in front of me. I hadn't even seen him come. I immediately stopped, then began to backpedal, running into a bedpost. This time, there was no escape from him. He was too close and there was nowhere to go.

I gasped and closed my eyes, ready for the bite. Instead of the sting and euphoria of fangs, I felt hands press into my arm and then I was on the ground. A familiar scent wrapped around me and I almost growled in anger, "LISSA!"

"I couldn't leav you," She whispered in my ear and I smiled. Even though anger swept through me at her ignoring me, I still felt proud that she would stand with me, no matter what.

Suddenly, Lissa's face was gone and I pushed myself up. Adrian had thrown Lissa onto the bed.

"Since you didn't comply, I'll kill Lissa. Then, you'll be mine, Rose. There's no stakes." He laughed and stomped on my leg. In my stupidity, I'd laid frozen on the ground. Pain shot up my leg and I gritted my teeth. "And you have a broken leg."

He turned to Lissa. She'd managed to push herself up onto one arm. He smiled and lunged for her neck. Someone screamed- maybe me. Lissa was going to die. I had failed. My heart sank in my chest.

There was a flurry of silver and Lissa was pushed out of the way. Pale (not Moroi pale) skin was dark against Adrian's as his fangs sunk into this new person. My eyes searched for who Lissa's savior was. Over Adrian's bed-head hair, I saw light blue eyes and a surprised face. My partner, Celeste, was the woman caught in Adrian's arms, his new prey.

And Adrian wasn't stopping his drink, even though Celeste seemed to wilt in his arms.

Lissa's POV

The breath was knocked out of me as a girl ran into me. I fell to the side and watched, stunned, as a stranger took my place under Adrian's fangs. Maybe it wasn't too late- maybe I could still save her. I stood and pulled what I'd hidden from Rose from my jacket. A stake, enchanted with spirit, that I'd made in case anything happened. It came in handy for a time such as this. I hadn't been stron enough to use it before. It required surprise for me to get this into a stronger being such as a Strigoi.

I'd done it once before on Dimitri, another or Sonya (A/N: I think. Correct me if I'm wrong), and it would work for Adrian too. Though he did this to himself, everyone deserves a second chance. I positioned myself behind Adrian and raised the stake over my head. I could see the life draining from Celeste's eyes. My only hope was that she would live to see another day.

I plunged the stake into Adrian's chest. Bright white light blinded the four of us and I crumpled to the ground and swept into unconsciousness.

Maybe the girl would live.

Hopefully.

If we can get ten reviews, I might just write each reviewer a one shot of their choice. IF YOUR INTERESTED, review. Please, I would love to hear from everyone who read Another Way to End. Was it too OOC, boring, mistake-riddle? Stupid idea? Was it good? Do you want more? I will try and make a story, if people just want to do prompts.

If you want, you could also PM or review for me and maybe tell give a VA prompt. Something which is open to my interpretation but has restrictions? Maybe?

It's all about what you guys want. I just want INPUT!

Please and thank you.
