The next morning was rainy and Sunday, so Oliver and I stayed in. Katie, Angelina, Alicia, Fred and George found out that night at dinner and were all very happy. But we wanted to just keep it quiet from the rest of the school.

As we walked around the castle, we found it deserted as most students were down at Hogsmeade again or in the library or still asleep. As we walked through the castle, he held my hand and we laughed at all the memories we shared as best friends. He reminded me of my third year when I accidentally got broom twigs in my hair and it had to be cursed out, and the back of my head looked like a sad old matted cat.

"If I remember correctly, I didn't speak to you for two weeks until I learned the spell to grow it back," I laughed, as he wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing my lips playfully. I put my hands on his chest and tried to push him away but my efforts were futile. He slid his feet under mine and walked me backwards until my back was against the stone wall. It was raining outside and the cool breeze blew in and the spray of the rain was gentle on my face and the rain smelled of warm earth.

There was no other place nor no other person in the world who could make me any happier than I was today.

At dinner that night I sat between Katie and Oliver, the hand of the latter rubbing the inside of my lower thigh, near my knee.

"You guys are the cutest," Katie said smiling. I looked at Oliver who pecked me on the lips playfully and back at Katie who was beaming, ear to ear. I leaned against Oliver's shoulder and I kelt him kiss my hair and I smiled inwardly, knowing that we were happy.

I was elated to be with her. I had loved her for I don't even remember how long and I was surprised it took us this long to get together. But Ferin Fox, the most attractive, most amazing, and the sweetest most incredible girl was my girlfriend, my world, my everything. But she always was my world and my everything. Every stupid thing I've ever done was to impress her. But all it got me was her worrying over my safety and a trip up to the hospital wing.

Now, Katie pointed out, I have no other reason to do anything stupid anymore. No need to impress her. But Ferin countered that with saying there was nothing I could do that would impress her any more than just showing her I cared, i.e. the necklace and chocolates.

After dinner Ferin and I took a longer walk up to the common room, stopping by the Astronomy tower window for awhile.

"I used to come up here to think a lot last year," Ferin said, walking away from me and over to the edge of the tower and leaned against the railing.

"I know. I'd follow you up here," I replied. She looked back at me and smiled.

"It's impolite to stalk people, you know," she smirked, sauntering back over to me and wrapping her arms around my waist, rubbing my sides and stomach. I pulled her into a tight embrace and kissed her temple gently.

"Promise me you won't ever leave me after this year," I whispered. She pulled away and stared at me, confusion in her eyes.

"Oliver, what do you mean?" Ferin asked. I looked down at her and smiled, my fingers going to the pendant at her throat.

"I just mean I don't want you to ever leave my side," I smiled, leaning down and kissing her forehead. She looked up at me and smiled sweetly.

"Then I never will."

Classes on Monday were uneventful. Professor Lupin was as weary as he ever was every month and he was too ill to really teach anything. I raised my hand and he smiled weakly.

"Ferin, will you teach today? The class plan in on my desk," Lupin said quietly. I smiled and nodded and walked up to the front of the class. My class liked me very much, as I was the smartest girl in Defense Against the Dark Arts. I actually wanted to pursue a career in such studies.

After class, Oliver caught up to me and he had a small lunch with him so we took it down to the lake for a picnic. I told him of my teaching the class today and he smiled and laid back, his head in my lap.

"We play Hufflepuff Saturday," he folded over his stomach. I ran my fingers through his hair and kissed the top of his head.

"Easy win then," I smiled.

God did I love it when she smiled. I closed my eyes and drifted off into sleep, lying in her lap and she let me. I felt her lean back against the tree and she was still running her fingers through my hair. We each had a free afternoon that day so we stayed outside down at the lake all afternoon.

I ran up to the Quidditch pitch and grabbed a Quaffle for us to toss around. Madam Hooch, who was sitting in her office, didn't make a fuss about it because she liked both of us. We were good players.

I returned to the lake and she was sitting against the tree, reading Hogwarts, A History, a book I think she's been reading since our first year. I leaned against the tree and watched her read her book, propped against her knees pulled up to her chest, her dark brown hair cascading over her shoulder. She looked so peaceful, sitting there reading.

I sat down next to her and rested my head in her lap and she jumped, surprised I was back so soon.

"Oliver, don't do that," Ferin smiled. She put her bookmark back in the book and set it down beside her. I tossed the quaffle up and caught it again and she beamed.

I leapt up as did she and we tossed it around for a while, careful not to toss it too close to the black lake, otherwise the Giant Squid would take it. She had good reflexes, and I was happy she was one of the chasers on the team. She was probably the reason why we scored so much.

After a while of tossing the quaffle around for a while, I sat back down and Oliver laid down beside me, the quaffle next to him. He looked up at me and I smiled, crossed my ankles and picked up my book again.

"Why do you have to read that dusty old thing?" Oliver complained, sitting up on his elbow. I smirked and buried my nose in the book further.

"I want to learn more about this school, that's why. You know off the pitch I'm a total history nut," I replied, peering at him over my book. He smiled at me and kissed my forehead that was above the book. I blushed behind the covers and dive back down into the book.
