Chapter Fourteen

Jasper and I left early the next morning, we would return to the family in four weeks for the move. And then we would start school.

We decided to start looking for more answers back in Arizona. It took us another eight days after the break from our last search. We ended up at a local archive, and eventually found three documents that didn't add up together. The first one was a notarized form for short term insurance for a young pregnant woman. The second document was in an old box from a closed hospital that had wound up here. It stated that the young mom gave birth to an unnamed baby girl. The last file that struck us was a death record from unnamed baby girl. Both unnamed baby girls were born on the same day, and the third document threw us for a loop. Thankfully, Jasper has had a lot of experience with many different kids of documents, seeing as he always arranges with someone for our needed records.

The death certificate was a fake.

We were also pretty sure that the Renee on all three were the same women, even though her last name on the birth certificate were different. The woman's name was either Renee Evans, or Renee Rogers; or they were really two different women.

Jasper and I felt strongly that the baby girl was Bella, but we couldn't be one hundred percent sure just yet.

We continued our search but narrowed down documents with the two names, and the birth date of the baby girl. We'd been gone for three weeks when we found a family court file with the name Charles Swan Vs. Renee Evans.

Jasper and I held our breath as we opened the file and started to read it. The male Charles, was charging Renee with fraud. The case was thrown out, due to the death certificate of the unnamed baby girl. The document wasn't a good fake in today's standards but for five and a half years ago Jasper said it wouldn't have gotten a second glance.

Since we now knew the mother's full true name we searched her up on the computer and found that she did file for short term insurance and gave birth to a healthy baby. She never put a name on file, but did check out of the hospital claiming to file documents herself. The fake death certificate was filed a week after the girls birth, and two days after Baby Arizona was dropped off at the place we adopted her from a hundred and seventy-three miles from the birth hospital.

Renee Evans was Bella's mother, and arranged a fake death certificate after she had given the baby up for adoption to presumably get Charles off her back.

We found Renee Evans documents, what few there were, for three years after Bella's birth and then she disappeared. We didn't have enough time to completely looking for the Charles character before it was time to go back to be there with family for the move.

After hours and hours of driving we pulled into the nearly empty of clutter garage. Jasper turned the car off as I leaned over to kiss him on the cheek.

The kiss was returned with very feminine giggles, I honestly thought Emment was screwing around with Jasper and I. I focused my eyes to the back wall of the garage, finally hearing her heartbeat, Bella jumped up from behind a trashcan, "Jazper, and Alice sitting in the tree!" She took off running for the house entrance giggling, "K-I-S-S-... Ah, I-N-G!" She slammed the door behind her still giggling.

Moments later we heard her scream, and filled the house with laughter. We entered the house to see Bella slung over Emmett's shoulder being furiously tickled by him and Rose. Her laughter was hard and she ended up peeing on Emmett, she started to apologize but Emmett stopped her saying he deserved it.

"Darn right Mister! Tickling me like I'm a bunny or something. Now you need a shower big butt, but you must suffer cuz I taking my big girl bath first!" She said as she marched up the stairs. Rose, Jasper, and I burst out in laughter, then I followed Bella upstairs to supervise her bath.

I got her dressed quickly and brushed her hair when she was done. Edward met me at the bottom of the stairs with her dinner ready.

Bella was so pooped out she drifted off into sleep right into her food, not even waking up when Edward washed her face off. After we tucked her in everyone met in the living room to hear if we had found anything. I laid out the documents and had everyone look them over, after everyone looked I explained everything we had found.

"So this Renee girl is the mother, and Charles is her father." Emmett said.

"We think that Charles is the father, were pretty positive that Renee is the mother, but we want to look more into Charles but it's looking pretty sound." Jasper clarified.

"Why is there a death certificate?" Esme wondering. Edward answered her before I could.

"She probably had the fake made when she gave up Bella, and then got court papers from Charles. She was probably in the mindset that the baby would be better off without her or Charles in the babies life. The insurance form says shes seventeen, she might not have had any options otherwise in her mind."

"We're going to continue looking into the Charles guy, we didn't find anything other then the court file with his name on it in Arizona." I said.

Carlisle nodded, "Well I'm off to work guys." He kissed Esme good bye and gave Jones a good little pat on the head before heading to his last day of work here.

Well guys that took awhile, I am dreadfully sorry for the wait. I finally came through for you guys though, I know it's kinda short but I'm just getting started.
