Some say the pain doesn't come immediatly. They say the shock is much too big, the pain wouldn't set in right after you get wounded.

Aomine begged to differ.

The moment the bullets hit him an enormous unbearable pain spread through his chest. He sunk to his knees and clutched his shirt, right above the place where his heart resided. It took the others only seconds to react and Murasakibara and Midorima were the first ones at his side to catch him.

"Mine-chin! / Aomine! / Aomine-kun / Daiki!"

Aomine only vaguely registered their voices., they all kind of mixed in and he couldn't tell apart who said what. His mind was swirling. Disbelieve, pain, betrayal and sadness, all those emotions washed over him at the same time.

Kagami had shot him.

Aomine thought he could persuade his lover, to make him realize what's happening and come back to his senses. He really believed he could reach him even if he was under the control of this bastard.
But apperantly their love wasn't strong enough. Knowing that hurt Aomine the most, even more so than the gaping wound in his chest. It started to burn and breathing steadily became harder and harder. He faintly realized Midorima was pressing his jacket against his wound, trying to stop the bleeding if only a little. He also registered amused laughter in his hazy mind, no doubt Hanamiya enjoying his agony.

"God! Aomine, just hold on for a bit longer!" that was the first time he had heard Midorima actually being panicked and he laughed, or at least tried to, before he fell into a coughing fit. Midorima's eyes widened in shock and he desperatly pressed the cloth down a bit more. If they just could stop the bleeding then it would be okay... A tanned hand weakly grabbed his and Midorima's green gaze met Aomines blue one.

"It's...It's no use. I'm a goner." Aomine said with a bitter smile on his face. If it had been normal bullets it wouldn't have been too much of a problem, but the silver ammunition hitting his heart straight on was his death sentence.

Midorima and the other members of the Generation of Miracles paled at those words and the spectacled male shook his head in denial.

"If I stop the bleeding then...Aomine it's going to be fine!"

By now Murasakibara, Kuroko and Midorima were almost in tears, Murasakibara's hands were clenched into fists as he tried not to cry. Akashi fought to keep the tears from falling.

They desperately wished they could save Aomine. They didn't want to believe that he would die, that he wouldn't be with them any longer. He just couldn't! It was Aomine, he always found a way out of a seemingly hopeless situation, so this one shouldn't b any different...!

And even so, they could only hopelessly watch as Aomine's breathing got slower and more shallow with each breath he took. His eyes had almost completely lost their shine and they all felt like a part of them was dying with Aomine.

Akashi silently stepped forward and kneeled down next to Aomine, his eyes were filled with sadness, guilt, anger at himself, grieve and deep regret.

"I'm sorry Daiki. I'm so sorry...Because of my incompetence as a leader this happened." Akashi's voice shook with every word he spoke and he gently took Aomine's hand in his.

"You will not have died in vain, you have to believe me. You'll always be a part of our family, Daiki."

Aomine forced a laugh to cover up his own sorrowfulness and his fear.

"S-so sappy. That isn't like you at all you midget. You've got nothing..." breathing was so hard and talking took even more energy. Every word hurt like a knife stabbing into him again and again but he wanted Akashi to know he had done nothing wrong, so he tried once more.

"...Y-You've got nothing to apologize for...You're a great leader...it was my own decision so...don't go and take the blame."

He couldn't see clearly anymore, the faces of his family blurred and if he had more energy left he surely would have cried. He didn't want to leave his family, he wanted to be together with them for much longer - with Kagami - but it wasn't possible.

He gave one last squeeze to Akashi's hand before he closed his eyes for the last time.

"...Da...Daiki?"

Time seemed to stop as they realized that Aomine was no longer moving, no longer breathing.

"A-Aomine!" Midorima's tears were overflowing and he began to cry hysterically, his deep sadness overwhelming him completely. Kuroko's tears were silently falling as well as he weeped over the loss of one of the people he held dearest to him. Murasakibara lay a hand on top of Kuroko's head and gently ran his fingers through the sky blue locks in means of comfort. He himself could barely restrain the tears that wanted to escape his eyes.

Midorima wiped his face trying to get rid of the tears, but he still held onto Aomine, hoping the blue haired vampire would open his eyes once more and it was all just a cruel joke. They would shout at him how he shouldn't have done that, how he scared them all and they would hit him upside the head. Then everything would be alright again. But as he felt how Aomine's hand was getting colder he knew it wouldn't happen.

This was the harsh reality that they couldn't escape from.

Akashi's eyes were shadowed and he grinded his teeth together in anger at himself. Despite Daiki's words he gave himself the fault for this disaster and nobody could tell him otherwise.

"Ohhhhhhh~! What a heart-wrenching turn of events." the mocking voice of Hanamiya echoed throughout the room.

"Really, he should have listened to you guys. What an idiot~!" he was looking at Aomine with amusement in his crazed eyes and his voice filled with scorn. Kagami stood at the same spot as before, still the gun in his hand and an emotionless look on his face.

"You..." Murasakibara growled lowly and turned to shoot a furious look at Hanamiya.

"You sick bastard! It's your fault Mine-chin is dead! I'm going to crush you!"

"My fault? But you see, I didn't say he should try to persuade him." he shrugged nonchalantly.

"What did you say?!"

"Well, wasn't it your great and almighty leader who made a wrong decision? Basically it's his fault that your friend is dead, isn't it?"

"That's not true! It's not Aka-chin's fault!" Hanamiya didn't miss the doubt appearing in Murasakibara's eyes. They all were weak right now, it was the perfect chance to strike and end this. The seed of doubt had already been planted, now he just had to make sure it would blossom into a flower of hate and distrust.

"Of course he is. You put your trust into him. You believed in him so much. And he betrayed it just like that. Daiki would be alive if not for Akashi."

...Now that Murasakibara thought about it, it was Aka-chin that ultimately decided to allow it. If he had said 'no' than none of this would have happened...? The others immediatly noticed what was happening.

"Murasakibara-kun, don't listen to him. He's trying to use our current weakness against us. His words are like poisen for our min,-"

"But Kuro-chin...he's right isn't he?" Murasakibara cut him off and slowly his anger was directed at Akashi.

"If Aka-chin had made the right decision like he is supposed to do as our leader, then Mine-chin wouldn't have had to die!"

Akashi couldn't defend himself from the cruel accusing words flung at him but he still tried to approach the purple haired male in a vain attempt to calm him down.

"Atsushi I..."

"Don't come near me!" Murasakibara hissed and glared at him enraged. "It's your fault!" he grabbed Akashi's collar and raised a fist. In a second it connected with Akashi's face and the red-head staggered back.

They heard Hanamiya laugh in sick amusment.

"Atsushi, I won't make any wrong decisions like he did. You're never going to lose someone dear to you ever again if you follow me." Murasakibara stilled completely all of a sudden and the rest of the Genereartion of Miracles paled.

"NO Murasakibara-kun / Murasakibara!"

"I won't lose anyone anymore...? It hurts...it's so painful. I want it to stop...But Aka-chin and the others..."

Murasakibara grabbed his head in pain. He was so confused. It hurt so much...! He just didn't want to feel this anymore...he didn't care anymore what happened if it would only stop!

"I'll make it stop for sure, Atsushi. Just come to me. I won't disappoint you." Hanamiya inwardly grinned. Everything he said was a sugarcoated lie.
Well, he wouldn't feel anymore pain when he was one of his little play things, so that one was the truth he supposed. He noticed how Murasakibara stilled once more.

He almost had him.

"No, Murasakibara-kun! Think about Himuro-kun! What will he do when you're gone!" Kuroko was desperate at this point, trying to somehow save Murasakibara from the same fate as Kagami.

"That's right Atsushi! You can hate me all you want, but you can't just leave behind Tatsuya!" It was Akashi's frantic voice that tried to talk reason into the purple haired male next.

"Murasakibara, he would be so lonely without you. Do you want that!?"

"M-Muro-chin...?"

Damn it all. He should have killed Kuroko first so he couldn't make the others any hope and fuck up his plans.

But nevermind, he wasn't going to lose.

"Oh Atsushi~ You can take dear Tatsuya with you. I'll protect him too! If you stay with Akash...Tatsuya will eventually die sooner or later. Do you want that?"

"N-No...I don't...I..." it was the same as with a Kagami. His eyes lost the child-like shine they always possessed and slowly got duller and duller. His hands slowly dropped from his head, the last bit of resistance crumbling to little pieces and he completely succumbed Hanamiya's will.

"N-no, not you too, Murasakibara-kun..." Kuroko couldn't finish his sentence as his voice broke.

"It...It just can't be, Murasakibara!"

"Atsushi..."

The shock was too big. They just lost one member of their family, how could they lose another only moments after? Even Akashi was too stunned to do anything and it was all his fault. He had been to arrogant and thought he could beat Hanamiya just like that. His pride and haughtiness had cost him everything.

Akashi had failed yet again to save someone dear to him. He didn't deserve to live while Daiki was dead. He couldn't even protect his own family. He was an utter failure.

Hanamiya grinned madly and took the chance as long as the Generation of Miracles leader was still slwoly sinking into despair.

"Let's finish him, Taiga~!"

Two more shots rang throughout the hall and sadly they did not miss their destination. It was like time stopped as Akashi slowly looked down at his stomach and chest where blood was beginning to soak through the fabric. He shakily touched the wound on his abdomen and stared at the blood that now stained his hand in disbelieve.
The next second he fell to the ground. Neither Kuroko nor Midorima could move even an inch, all they could do was stare in horror as the blood poured from Akashi's wound.

This wasn't happening, right? It was all just a bad, cruel nightmare right?

No. No it wasn't.

"Hehehe...Hahaha! You're done for! Just give up and join your friends! I'm sure you'll make wonderful puppets! AHAHAHA!"

The Generation of Miracles did exist no more. There was finally nothing left to stand in Hanamiya's way any longer.

After he had disposed of Akashi it was a child's play to take over the pathethic rest of the so called 'Generation of Miracles'. They were nothing without their leader! With two of them dead and another two under his control it was so, so easy to break the rest of them too. Of course it was quiet regretful that Akashi's ability had gone to waste, but it didn't matter in the end.

He had killed the mates of his new puppets, he feared they would only get in his way of absolute power. It had been an endless pleasure, so much fun to see the betrayel they felt in their final moments - when their beloved ones had killed them with their own hands.

He wished he had recorded it. Too bad, really. But who cares?

There was no one who could oppose him anymore. He had hunted down anyone who dared to go against him, with the help of his lovely puppets of course. With control over the strongest vampires mankind had ever seen he was feared by humans, hunters and vampires alike. No alliance between the forces was strong enough to defeat him now that he had taken over the tribes and was reigning over them as he saw fit.

Finally he was the one in control and that wouldn't ever change. No one would be able to escape him anymore.
