Kagami found himself back in an all too familiar room. To be more precise, it was the very same room he was first brought to as a suspect for this case.
He thought back to how his live almost ended because of his inability to keep his mouth shut in crucial moments.
When his gaze fell onto Mayuzumi Chihiro, who was handcuffed in the same fashion he had been, he was glad that he was no longer in that position.
After his family put his trust into him and believed in Kagami, Mayuzumi no longer saw any sense in trying to uphold his now obvious false identity. He had, surprisingly fast and willing agreed to remove the every last bit of his doings on their minds. They all had their memories back, except for Kuroko and Teppei who were still missing.
Outside of the 'interrogation room', standing guard in case the enemy would be foolish enough and try to rescue their comrade, was Furihata Kouki.
In the room with Kagami was his mate – Aomine Daiki – who was glaring down at their 'prisoner' and Akashi Seijuuro who didn't look all that happy either.
His glare sent shivers down Kagami's spine as he was once again reminded of their first encounter and the fact that despite his height no one should mess with the small red-head.
"Reveal to us the whereabouts of Kuroko Tetsuya and Kiyoshi Teppei." Akashi demanded.
He crossed his arms over his chest and looked down at Mayuzumi, his impatience clear on his face.
Kagami assumed it would be difficult to get this guy to talk, judging by his well kept poker-face and blank eyes.
Even with Akashi's ability it would take time and...
"Kuroko Tetsuya and his mate are currently in a town living happily together. They possess no memories of their lives as part of the Generation of Miracles. Otherwise, they are both unharmed."
...or apparently not.
Akashi's eyebrows furrowed and he scrutinized Mayuzumi thoroughly - tried to find any hint that the person in front of him was lying.
Aomine clicked his tongue in annoyance, not nearly as calm as his leader. This was far too easy! Why would their enemy just willingly reveal his plans like that? Anger flooded his senses and he surged forward, grabbed the gray-haired male by his collar and slammed him against the wall.
"Don't fuck with us!"
Mayuzumi's facade never slipped and he regarded the other with a calm and collected stare.
"I'm telling the truth."
Aomine's anger just increased at the indifferent behaviour.
"Akashi, you don't believe that little shit, do ya?!"
"...Even still, what do you propose to do instead? Right now both Tetsuya and Teppei are completely defenceless. We will have to take the chance of it being a trap. We have to get them back at all costs."
Aomine pressed Mayuzumi harder against the wall at Akashi's words.
"Why are you just spilling your whole plan?!" he gritted his teeth in frustration. This wasn't making any sense.
"It was simply to test the bonds between you. I gave one of you a chance, "at this his eyes briefly flickered over to Kagami, "and didn't create false memories for him but erased his real ones. Even if it was slightly irritating that he fought off my ability, I was also very satisfied."
Aomine's grip loosened at those words. He released the other and stepped back slightly.
Akashi's eyes never were glued to Mayuzumi and he raised an elegant eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"I am by no means Hanamiya's ally by choice." He returned Akashi's gaze with his own confident one.
Now this definitely caught the red-head's interest.
"Oh? Would you care to explain on that further?" Even though it was formed as a question it sure as hell wasn't.
Akashi Seijuuro did not ask – he ordered.
Mayuzumi knew that as well.
"Originally I wasn't a part of Hanamiya's group. He was interested in my ability and wanted it for his own, so he killed my family and only left me alive. I tried to escape, but for some reason my ability does not work. He has found a way to seal it." He ignored the stunned looks he received in return and continued.
"As long as I follow his orders I would be left alive. When I heard of his wish to eliminate you I made up my mind.
If anyone could defeat him than it would be the Generation of Miracles, I have no doubt about it now. But I wanted to test you first. To make sure you truly are what the rumours say – the strongest."
Silence followed after he revealed his true motives, each one of the vampires mulling over the words that had been spoken.
"So, to summarize this in one sentence: You want to join us and defeat Hanamiya Makoto."
Mayuzumi's blank eyes, for once, betrayed his passive face. There was hate blazing in his eyes – burning with such intensity that no one in the room doubted his words or his intentions.
"Yes."
"...Taiga, Daiki." Immediately their attention focused on their leader.
"I would like you to go back first."
Aomine reluctantly nodded his head. Kagami opened his mouth to protest but the reassuring and confident gaze Akashi sent his way made him stop himself.
"Please be careful." Were his words instead and Akashi nodded with a faint smile on his lips.
"Of course. Who do you think I am?" the haughtiness in his tone wasn't missed by anyone.
The moment the door closed after them, the small smile vanished, replaced by a serious and calculating expression.
"Mayuzumi Chihiro. Listen carefully now. I will propose a deal to you:
I may let you join our ranks under one condition. Tell us Tetsuya and Teppei's exact location and once they are safely back at the mansion you are going to erase all false memories from them like you did for us. Fulfil these conditions and you may live. If we really come to the conclusion that it is the best cause of action to let you join us, then be aware that you will be placed under constant surveillance. It is up to you if you accept."
Mayuzumi knew all too well what would happen should he refuse. Not that he intended to do that. This – the Generation of Miracles – were his only chance to defeat Hanamiya, to finally get revenge.
"I gratefully accept your proposition. I apologize for my doings, but I saw it as necessary. I will, of course, erase all of those memories completely."
Akashi nodded, no doubt satisfied with that answer and turned around to leave. Mayuzumi's eyes followed his every move.
The red-head stopped, his hand resting on the door handle, and spoke once more.
"But keep in mind..." Mayuzumi shivered at the menacing aura that surrounded Akashi and the ice-cold tone in his voice.
"Should you betray us I am going to make sure that you will wish for death to come and end your miserable life after I am done with you."
With those last words of warning he pushed down the handle and exited the room. Mayuzumi had a slight smile on his lips, his eyes never leaving Akashi's form.
'He's so interesting..."
When he closed the door behind him he immediately noticed Furihata, who was still waiting for him in the corridor.
"Kouki, thank you for waiting." Akashi smiled slightly and started to head back to his office. Furihata followed him, but for some reason the other was unusually quiet. Both of them entered his office and Akashi waited until his lover closed the door behind him. He turned around and looked at the brown-haired male, a thoughtful expression on his face.
"I-Is something wrong?" Furihata was slightly startled by the sudden attention he was given. Akashi titled his head to the side and raised an eyebrow.
"That would be my question, my dear. Is something bothering you?"
Akashi's red and gold eye bored deep into Furihata's chocolate coloured ones, leaving no place for lies or excuses. Suddenly the smaller male looked down on the ground, ashamed.
"I..."
Bewildered by that strange behaviour Akashi stepped closer, only to be pulled into a hug by his mate. Furihata buried his face into his chest.
"Kouki...?" the worry was obvious in Akashi's voice and he heard muffled murmurs leaving his beloved's lips.
"...don't like..."
"Excuse me...?" even with his heightened senses he did not catch much of what the other said.
Furihata begrudgingly repeated his words a bit clearer now, but had they not been so close Akashi doubted he would have been able to hear him.
"...I don't like how that guy looks at you."
He looked up briefly before he buried his head in the hollow at the base of Akashi's neck and planted a kiss there in a possessive manner.
There was a short silence before quite laughter filled the air and Akashi saw the pout on Furihata's face.
"I shouldn't have said anything. It's stupid..." the brown-haired male mumbles, feeling dejected. He tried to pull away but Akashi wouldn't have any of that.
"So you're jealous?" Furihata didn't miss the satisfied smirk on the red-head's lips and his pout deepened.
He leaned down to once more kiss the creamy skin and gently grazed his teeth against it. It took Akashi only a second to put the pieces together and figure out what his lover wanted.
"Go ahead, Kouki. It's been a while, after all."
Akashi reached up his hand and brushed them through the soft brown locks. He titled his head slightly to give his lover better access.
Furihata kissed Akashi's neck once more before licking over the same spot. He gently sunk his teeth into the soft skin and made a humming sound in the back of his neck in appreciation.
A pleasant shiver ran down Akashi's spine and he pulled the other even closer. It was always a nice feeling when his mate drank his blood. He felt needed and loved and most importantly satisfied in knowing that only he and he alone could give his mate what he desired.
And for Furihata it was a reminder that Akashi was his – that he belonged to him and no one else. He didn't drink for too long though and after he pulled away, he licked the small wound on Akashi's neck, as if in apology.
The red-head stepped back a bit, only to grab Furihata by his collar and pull him into a passionate kiss.
To have his mate drink his blood excited Akashi in a way nothing else could compare to. He started to walk backwards, turning them around slowly in the middle, never breaking the kiss.
Once the smaller male was trapped between him and his desk he grinded against Furihata, who moaned hotly into his mouth. Encouraged, Akashi's hand slipped beneath Furihata's shirt and he gently ran his fingers across the soft skin of his stomach.
The brown-haired male quivered under his touch and he laid his arms around Akashi's neck to pull him even closer. He rubbed against the red-head in dire need of some sort of friction and Akashi groaned; pleasure and excitement pulsed through his whole body. The need for air surfaced and they unwillingly parted.
They both breathed heavily, their breaths mixing since they were still in such close proximity.
"Let's take this to our room, shall we?"
Akashi's voice was a breathy whisper against Furihata's lips, laced with lust and desire. Furihata's eyes glazed over with want and he could only nod his head in agreement.
A/N: I didn't proof-read as thoroughly as normally, so if you find any mistakes or anything please tell me. I really wanted to post the chapter so I'll leave it like that for now.
