((Credit to OverTheLoveOfYou for helping me confirm Undertaker's behavior. Warning: Some of this shit may seem like from Twilight. But It's hard to be original when a human turns into a vampire. I'm sorry folks. Don't hate. I'm serious. This chapter is pretty short.))
"What on earth are you doing, m'dear?" Pipped Undertaker, who had just caught Aurora doing an odd dance while music was playing on her cellphone. It seemed like an odd language as well.
She looked incredibly embarrassed. "...U-uh...Gangnam Style?" She squeaked out, earning a poking glowing eye from Undertaker.
"Do it again..." He requested, his normally silly tone, now deepening. Aurora had not expected him to show up so soon from his "Shopping".
She bit her lip, but did as he asked, moving her legs and her arms like she was galloping in place and swinging a rope around.
Undertaker covered his mouth and screeched out a laugh. "OH MY! GUUUH! STOOOP! STAAAHP!" He fell back onto the floor, drool dripping down his chin. His body twitched with spasms.
Aurora stopped what she was doing, before rubbing her neck sheepishly. "Uh...I'm guessing I've just paid you a thousand times over?"
He continued to twitched below her. And Aurora found herself giggling. "If you want, I can teach you to dance this."
Undertaker perked, a glowing eye looking at her.
.../\/\/\...
Soon, they were doing the Gangnam Style dance, And Aurora couldn't help but laugh. Undertaker looked silly dancing to it. But yet the dance seemed to be perfect for him.
Soon, she had enough and sighed. It was never a dull moment with Undertaker.
"So what did you get for meeee when you went out shopping?" I teased, knowing he had to answer because I just gave him a prime laughter.
"A little of thiiis. A little of thaaat~" He showed me the sack on the table.
I grinned, wondering if he got me any sweets.
When I opened it however, I saw a top hat and several other items. I paused and slowly turned to look up at him. "You got me that that top hat I wanted?"
He was smiling cheekily, and gave me a nod. I was downright confused. Why would he do something like that for me?
"...Why?" I asked softly, not sure how to react to the wonderful gift.
"It's what you wanted yes? Purple with a red ribbon around it.?" He tilted his head, the smile fading from existance.
"Y-yeah it's just..." I didn't know how to explain properly without sounding ungrateful.
"It's a amazing thing to give me, but I feel like I don't deserve something so precious..." I explained carefully, lifting the top hat and examining it. I then placed it on my head, surprised it fit perfectly.
"There you go again, lowering your will like a dog. Why do you always think you're below everyone else, luv?" He pondered, coming over and poking my top hat with a nail, admiring how it looked on me.
I gave a child like smile, before it faded. "It's a long story. And I'd rather not mention such terribly depressing things to you." I said, going through the rest of the bag. I paused, seeing a tiny box wrapped in a bow. God, I hated how things were suggestive.
I held out the tiny box. "Whats thiiiiiis?" I asked, pouting.
"Open it to find out..." He said smoothly, grinning.I gave him a look, but did as he asked, undoing the ribbon. I then opened the cute box, only to stare. There was a beautifully carved celtic ring with a giant Emerald stone set beautiful polished on top. Emerald was my birth stone...And rings were the only jewelry I wore... I slid it over my middle finger, surprised it fit so smoothly. "What the hell...It's fucking beautiful...How the hell did you get this?" I asked, shocked.
"You never ask where someone gets you gifts." Undertaker giggled. And I pouted. But the stone was so beautiful. It shined with the sun peeking through the window. "It's so beautiful...Thank you." I said softly.
"It's not just for looks. That stone is old. So old, it carries energy of it's own." He said mysteriously.
"...A energy stone? So I can absorb the energy?" I asked, curious.
He nodded, going through the bag now and pulling out a box of scones. I squeaked. "Gimme!"
He held them above my head playfully. Why was I born a short person? I whined like a child. "Uncle Uniii I want a scoooone!" I squeaked.
Undertaker snickered at my childish antics. I really was a child.
He then gave me the box and I squealed, opening it and taking a scone, finding it was chocolate chip. "Oh man, so good." I cheered, nibbling on it.
He smiled softly. "So, You're feeling better?" He asked suddenly, startling me. I slowly nodded. "Yeah, why?" I asked.
Undertaker raised a brow. "So you don't remember what happened last niiiight?" He asked.
I slowly looked down at the floor. "Oh...That..."
[Flashback]
[Kuroshitsuji OST: Si Deus Me Relinquit]
I was staring into darkness, I couldn't se my hands, or anything for that matter. Then, a noise was heard and I looked up, only to see someone I had not seen in a few years.
A man stood in front of me, auburn hair, unshaven beard, hazel eyes, a slightly wrinkled face. This was my father.
"...Adrian?" I asked softly, never once calling him my father or dad.
He gave a cocky grin, "You're doing good kid, keep it up. I'll be watching in the shadows."
"...What do you mean?" I asked in shock. This had to be a dream...
He just waved and disappeared. I gasped and reached out to him, hands opening.
"DAD!"
I opened my eyes and gasped. I was in the bedroom, sweating intensely. But I wasn't the only one in there. Undertaker stood in the doorway, looking like he was in deep thought.
[End of FlashBack]
I shrugged halfheartedly. "Dreams just like to talk to me..."
"I'll say...You've been having nightmares for a while now." He was staring curiously at me now.
"I get nightmares a lot. Some of me being underwater, some of me falling...Some of me flying..."
"Some dreams are of you, from your past life." He said, taking a scone and chomping down on the whole thing.
"...What happens when you die?" I asked, that thought being on my mind for quite a while.
"You don't knooow?~ Didn't you die a while back?" He laughed low, finding that amusing.
"Yeah...But...I meant...in this world, what happens?" I explained more.
"Well now...Dependin' on a person they are reaped or left alone. They are then judged accordingly by the reaper, whether to live or die."
"Or they go to hell or heaven, whatever the fuck that is." I interrupted, waving my hand in annoyed matter.
Undertaker perked, did I not believe in that? After all I've been through?
"...Um...I'm gonna go nap..." I mumbled, excusing myself to the bedroom.
Talking about a supposed God, or Devil, made me think of religion. And Religion was not a happy topic to me. I sighed as I sat on the bed.
Memories of the church I went to went through my mind. The abuse I suffered, the abuse my mom suffered...My church was old fashioned. They believed that if a child was born a bastard, that gave them all rights to make that childs life a living hell...Which they did...My whole town hated me...Called me a bastard...a freak...If only I had this powers way back then...I could had defended myself easier. I sighed, rubbing my head. I needed to relax...It was time for bed anyways...I had a lot to do in the morning...
My head hit the pillow, and before I knew it, I was out like a light...
.../\/\/\...
"Shes a freak! Did you see that?! That table just moved!" Cried one of the housemates. Aurora stood there, her face looking blank and saddened.
"Call the police! lock her in the bedroom!"
"LET GO OF ME!"
I opened my eyes with a soft gasp. Once again I found myself having bad dreams...Ones that left me saddened for the rest of the day.
I sat up, rubbing my eyes tiredly. A pounding, piercing pain went through my head and I groaned. I felt this day was going to be a long one.
I kept forgetting I was no longer in my world. But the Kuroshitsuji Universe. There was no reason to feel down. Undertaker's silly personality would take it away in a heartbeat.
I slowly lowered my feet onto the floor, wincing at the coldness. I was starving.
I made my way into the kitchen, finding Undertaker in the kitchen.
"Morning." I said, earning a surprised look from him. "You're up early dear." He cooed.
"Had a nightmare...Can't go back to sleep..." I explained, watching him put the kettle on the stove.
"Well, I can always make you warm milk with Earl Grey." He offered, leaning against the counter.
"That would be helpful...thanks." I agreed, looking down at the floor.
"...You look a bit pale...Do you ever get ill?" He asked, curious.
"All the time. I feel sick right now..." I stated, stretching my arms out until I heard a crack.
Undertaker watched me curiously, seeming to be thinking about something.
"Something on your mind?" I asked, noticing his stares.
"The robe, it looks dashing on yoooou. I was right~" He said, grinning.
I smiled softly. "You think so?" I asked, tugging lightly at my robe.
"I know so m'dear." He said and the kettle squealed. I lifted it for him with my powers, making him grin. "Just like magic..." He said, making me smile.
I made the cupboards open then, his beakers floating out. I smiled more. "I'm getting better at focusing on several things at once now...Thanks to your training..." I said softly, not really wanting to rub it in.
"You're welcoooome~" He heaved with a laugh, watching the teapot pour the water into the beakers.
"You make me feel better in the mornings..." I mumbled, earning a grin from him.
Suddenly, I paused, something was off. A strange creeping pain was going up my back.
Undertaker saw me pause. "Something wrong?"
"...I just...I'm feeling...pain...traveling...Up my back..." I explained, feeling it slowly creep closer and closer to my neck.
Undertaker stepped closer to me. "You're bleeding again. Why don't you go rest?~" He asked, or rather sounding demanding.
I went to wipe my nose, seeing the blood on my finger. "...Somethings wrong...I'm not using that much energy..."
As soon as Undertaker placed his hand on my shoulder. I gave a gasp, the pain went passed my neck and the most ear splitting headache pierced all train of thoughts. My body froze up beyond my control, and I fell to my knees, before slumping to the floor. The teapot clattered to the floor, spilling boiling hot water on the floor.
I couldn't move, I could barely breathe, my eyes were wide in terror.
Undertaker flipped me over before lifting me up carefully. "I thought this might happen~" He cooed, carrying me into the bedroom.
Pain was spreading through my body and I grunted. I could taste blood in my mouth, I could smell the blood in my mouth and nose. What was happening? Pain ricocheted through my limbs, like I had stuck my hands directly into a flame. I gave a scream, it was the only thing I could do.
Undertaker flinched at the sound. "Pain is to be expected when a fledgling is changing." He explained.
Of course, I didn't understand what he meant. Bile rose in my throat, and I found myself vomiting on my blouse. Now it wasn't the pain that scared me, but the amount of blood that was in my vomit that just came out of me. My eyes widened.
"Oh my~ Not particualy pleasant is it?" He asked, getting a cloth and cleaning me up. I glared, not liking his behavior towards my suffering. A trinket cracked on his bookshelf in the room. He pouted. "Calm yourself dear, I know it's not a nice experience, but it'll pass eventuallyyyy~" He cooed, leaving the room.
I wanted him to stay in the room, but he was too quick and my powers were slow to manifest at the moment. What was going on? Why didn't he explain more? Did he like to watch me suffer?
Things were taking a turn for the worst as pain ripped through my back. I gave another scream. It felt like fire was coursing through my bloodstream.
My mind was spinning, my vision was fading to black and red. My body went limp as I fainted from the intense pain.
I was in total darkness. I stared down at my hands. My fingernails were turning glossy and pure white. I saw a mirror in front of me. But the woman I was seeing in the mirror was no longer the person I knew. But a creature of myth and legend.
A beautiful woman stood in the mirror, her eyes reflecting something that of blood lust. Her hair much longer then mine and swaying beautifully down her back. Who are you, who am I.
I reached out the touch the mirror, only to see it crack and melt away to the ground. I stared in disbelief. Then, a pain went through my chest. My pulse...My heart...It was slowing down...Was I dying again?! What was happening to me?!
Aurora opened her eyes, her irises were slowing turning red. She gripped at the bed roughly, tearing the sheets with no problem at all. She saw Undertaker standing in the doorway, watching with a look of curiosity.
Aurora snarled. "FUCK OFF!" She screamed at him, and the door slammed in his face with the use of her powers.
Undertaker blinked softly in surprise, not expecting such a harsh move from her. Well, she was in pain afterall.
"Just leave me alone...Just leave me alone...UGHHHHH!" She repeated, watching as her vision began to blur, before enhancing dramatically. She could see the fine cracks in the wood of the end table.
Her skin was changing as well, the scars on her body slowly disappearing, or more like melting away painfully. Aurora hissed, the end table by the bed split in two with a loud crack.
Her powers had doubled in strength. Once again, searing hot pain went through her back, and she found herself fainting again.
Undertaker went and sat at the table in the kitchen, deciding to wait it out rather then just force his way into the room. He didn't know what Aurora would do in such a painful state.
A few minutes later, Aurora rolled to her side in pain, and vomited up more blood from her stomach. Why was she bleeding? Why was this happening? Who was that woman in her dream? She looked at her nails, seeing that had turned into a crystal glossy look to them. Like she was made of glass..
A shudder went through her. "...Oh my god." She soon understood what was happening.
Her vampire side was consuming her. Her human self would be gone soon. And now, she had reason to panick. Would she be dead soon? She clutched her head as a searing headache ripped through her. Blood gushed from her nose.
She paused, before her eyes rolled up into their sockets. And it was lights out again.
"...Momma? When is daddy gonna come see me?" Asked a tiny girl with red hair and hazel eyes.
A older woman in her fifty's looked sadly down at her. "He won't be around for a while honey...Not until your birthday..." She said.
Suddenly her eyes widened. "Honey your bleeding." She said, pulling out a napkin from her pocket and wiping her nose.
"I don't feel good momma..." She whimpered as more blood gushed through her nose.
"We're going to the hospital okay? Don't be scared." Her mother said, lifting her up and carrying her to the car. The memory then shifted to the tiny child being in the hospital. She was laying in bed with a monitor by her side. She was fast asleep. Her mom was outside, talking to the man who was her father. "How much longer is this going to affect her?! Shes suffering!" Her mother screamed at him.
He sighed. "This will keep happening throughout her life. The vampire side will eventually consume her completely. But that doesn't mean she will not be your daughter. She will still be the same little girl you cherish." He explained, before leaving the area, leaving a shocked mother.
I awoke once more, sweat rolling down my face. Everything was quiet, except for the occasional creak of an old building. I sat up, my red eyes scanning the room. The colors that were once dull were enhanced and bright. Like looking into a blue ray T.V. But only more advanced.
Upon narrowing my eyes I could see objects up closer. I gasped and blinked, seeing my vision return back. "...Holy shit." I watched as dust particles fall from the ceiling. Everything...Everything was different...I suddenly heard scratching sounds and looked down. Nothing was there, But it sounded like a mouse under the floorboards.
Another thing I could hear...A rythymic pattern went with the scratching scurrying sound. A rhythm I knew well.
A heartbeat.
I could hear a heartbeat...What the fuck was happening to me? I could hear the mouse's heartbeat...It was fast and in rhythm. And speaking of heartbeats...I could faintly hear mine. Pain was pulsing through my chest. My heartbeat was slower then usual...
I sniffed, the bedroom smelled like old dust which I didn't notice beforehand. I could also smell blood...I looked down, seeing blood all over my shirt. This was MY blood...
Wait, where was Undertaker? I became worried. I had slammed a door in his face earlier. Oh my god, the shit I needed to do to apologise.
There was still pain going through my body. My insides were on fire. I slowly put my feet on the cold floor. I hissed at the sensitivity of my body. Everything was enhanced. All my senses were doubled if not tripled.
I sniffed, I could smell something sweet. It was a very familiar aroma. I slowly stood up, feeling my joints contract. I felt tingly, every moment, every thought, I could feel it.
I felt like I was stirring with energy. I made my way to the shut door, not noticing the damage I left behind. Several broken trinkets were scattered in the room, including the end table.
I opened the door, very slowly. Undertaker was nowhere in sight. I approached the kitchen, seeing a cup of tea sitting there. I could feel the warmth from the doorway. I sniffed. I knew that scent anywhere. It was Earl Grey. I moved slowly to the table, before reaching and taking the cup. It felt incredibly warm.
My sense of touch was amazing. But still, it was incredibly hot and I put the cup back down.
My ears twitched at the sound of footsteps. I turned to see Undertaker standing there, tapping his chin. "Well now...I did not expect you to be moving so early...You are more stronger then I thoooought~"
I stood there, body swaying slightly. He looked different to me now. His scars showing more clearly to me. After a quiet minute, I spoke. "...What's going on with me? My hands...my skin...The blood..."
"Your eeeeyes~." He finished, smirking.
I paused, confused. "What about my eyes?" I then remembered the dream. The woman in the mirror...
"They're red aren't they..." I answered for him, looking at my glossy fingernails. It was like they were made of crystal.
"Yes, but that will fade when you're not using your powers. Don't fret~" He said, as though knowing I was more fond of my hazel eyes.
"Good...Is that ring around my iris?" I asked him, knowing he could full well see that far.
"No, that comes later when you're fully mature into an adult vampire." He said, sipping some tea.
I then bit my lip. "I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier..."
"Think nothing of it...Have some tea dear." He said, gesturing to the cup of tea. I listened and sniffed it, before sipping it. I paused after swallowing. It tasted much different. But it was so delicious. Early Grey tea never tasted this sweet before. I put the cup down, blinking incredulously. I then paused to stare at Undertaker.
"...Everything...Is...more...enhanced...I don't know how to explain it..."
Suddenly, I could a faint pulse of something alive. And it was very close. What was it I wondered, glancing around the room, until my hearing settled on Undertaker.
Thump...Thump...Thump.
It was a very faint heartbeat. And very slow. And also the heartbeat didn't sound like our own. Instead of two rhythms, he only had one.
"Hear something new?" He asked, grinning wide. How did he always fucking know?
"...Don't take this as rude. But I didn't think Reaper's had fully functioning organs. Or a heartbeat..."
He stared at me, before inhaling and falling back with a burst of maniacal laughter that shook the building. His hat fell to his side.
I pouted and flushed in embarrassment. "It's not funny! If my friend Michelle was here she would say the same thing!" I whined. At least there was still some humor after all this...
"Of course we have organs! Guh fuu! Ahaha! We are as alive as you are! Oh my my! How silly you are m'dear!" He was drooling now, all over the floor.
"I know but...You're a divine reaper. I thought maybe there wasn't a use for it." I rubbed the back of my neck, feeling incredibly flustered now.
"Even a divine creature such as me, isn't as immortal as you think they are. We have limitations. Such as that Ginger haired reaper fellow. He could have been eeeeasily killed by his own scythe~" He explained to me, getting up shakily after putting his hat back on.
"I wouldn't call you a creature..." I mumbled, looking at the bloodstains on my robe. "...I always ruin something when it's given to me..." I mumbled, wondering if there was a way to get the blood out of the robe.
"You couldn't help it luv. Your body is expelling old blood from your system in anyway it caaaan."
"...So...It's...eating me from the inside out?" I asked, feeling shivers go down my back.
"In simpler terms. Yes. But it will stop eventually." He said and walked into the livingroom.
"...Will I be different?" I asked, feeling unsettled about all this. Would I cease to be and a new personality would take over?
"Different in appearance yes...The real you will remain if you choose so." His voice sounded faint. I assumed he was in the back. I had always wondered about sneaking back to to watch what he was doing but knew I would possibly regret it and get my ass handed to me.
So I wouldn't change really. But this new look was something I would find hard getting used to...I found myself in the bathroom, looking at myself.
My face looked full now, and I looked more healthy then I had been in so long. I actually didn't feel sick anymore. Which was a new thing for me to say. Since I had always felt sick.
The eyes threw me off though. I would have to be careful from now on...I couldn't display my powers without changing my eye color.
I slowly took off my blouse, then stared at my body in the mirror.
I seemed a bit thinner then usual. But there wasn't a drastic change in my tummy. I was still a bit chubby. I ran my fingers through my hair, feeling how soft and silky it felt. My hair was redder then usual. And more fuller...I reached out and touched the mirror, wondering if it would crack or melt. But of course, nothing happened.
"Is this real...Or just pretend?" I mumbled softly, staring at my bloody eyes.
[Kuroshitsuji OST: Prologue.]
I found myself sitting on one of Undertaker's caskets, staring blankly at a wall. I found myself doing this several times a day. My body was working against me. And I found it hard to focus on daily chores from Undertaker. I just couldn't do it. Once in a while pain would go down my back, harsh, excruciating pain. Undertaker hadn't yelled at me yet about it. Did he perhaps understood what I was going through?
I could smell chocolate coming from the kitchen. Undertaker must have been making cookies. I winced slightly as pain went through my shoulders. Just how much longer was I going to suffer?
"My dear, have some tea..."
I turned my head slowly, seeing Undertaker holding a cup of tea out to me. I slowly took it, a blank look on my face. "Thank you." I mumbled softly, sipping.
"You shouldn't fret. How about we play a game?" He asked suddenly, earning a still blank look from me. "...Alright." I said softly.
[Kuroshitsuji OST: 06 Butler Barrels One. ]
Soon, Undertaker had set up book Ends on the other side of the room. He then showed me that skull from before. I realised what he was doing. "Bowling?" I said with a blank look.
"Yes. You go first m'dear." He cooed, handing me the skull. I chuckled, pulling my arm back before rolling it across the floor.
When it hit, almost all of them fell over, only three remained. "Oh~ So close." He praised.
My vision was more enhanced, but now I was having trouble trying to determine what was up close, and what was far away.
Undertaker then set them back up, before standing by me and rolling the skull, getting a perfect strike. I smiled softly. "Show off..."
We kept going back and forth, until I grew tired, and just watched Undertaker do it. It was more fun to watch him do it, so I could learn myself.
I perked as I felt familiar energy coming closer to the shop. I smiled softly, knowing what was going to happen.
Suddenly, Ciel and Sebastian stepped into the shop, just as Undertaker got a strike. It was a funny moment.
"Does your lordship finally feel like stepping into the coffin that I've made specially for yooou? Hmmm?"
Ciel seethed. "Why you..."
Undertaker walked over and picked up the skull, tossing it up and down in his hand, a huge grin on his face. "In any case, have a seat. I've just baked some cookies!"
[Kuroshitsuji OST: Black British]
I was munching on one of Undertaker's specially made cookies while They were chatting amongst themselves.
"The corpses of children, hmm..."
Sebastian spoke. "They are treated as being missing in polite society, and no bodies or the like have been found yet."
Undertaker stuffed a biscuit in his mouth. "Well, in the underworld, you see dead children everyday after all..." He snapped the biscuit loudly.
"You're weeeeeell aware of that, aren't you, Earl?" He said to Ciel, who remained deathly quiet. But soon he spoke up. "I've brought the files along." Sebastian perked and set the files on the table. "Among them, are there any you've cleaned up?" He asked.
I got up and peeked over Undertaker's shoulder to see myself. There was so many of them missing.
I never did see dead children come into Undertaker's shop. I think he hid them from me so I wouldn't get emotional over it. Or there simply were none.
"Well, whoooo caaan saaay? Maaayhaps there aaaaare?" He said, daintly shifting through the pages with his slender fingers. He lifted one page to his face. I wondered if he could read it at all.
"Maybe seeing something amuuusing will bring it aaaaaall baaaack?"
[Kuroshitsuji OST: Die Hasan!]
Ciel looked creeped out once again. "You understand what I'm getting at, don't you, milord? Give it to meeeeee!"
Undertaker was now hanging upside down on the desk, drool dripping down his face. [[AN: I actually have no idea what the fuck he was upside down on in the manga. Your guess is as good as mine.]] "Bestow upon me the choicest laughter! Theeeen I shall tell you aaaanything!"
I choked on my cookies while laughing hysterically, I soon coughed up the cookie bits after regaining composure. Sebastian and Ciel only glanced at me.
Undertaker continued to giggle in the background.
Ciel groaned. "...Sebastian..." He didn't have to explain, as Sebastian was now tugging on his sleeve. "Very well."
Undertaker perked up, a glowing eye staring at them both. "Hmmmm? Relying on him again, are yoooou?~ Guuuh fuh...Is milord a child who cannot do a thing unless master butler is around, hmmm?" He was laying halfway on the table now. His voice then deepened. "Well...I don't care who it is, so long as he is amusing."
Ciel perked, an almost angry vein appearing on his forehead. He then sulked, his aura and energy darkening. "I'll do it..."
"Are you sure?" Sebastian blinked.
"You get out, you as well, Miss Aurora." He said to me. I blinked, Why was I always kicked out when something funny was about to happen?
"Do not peek. I command you." Ciel told Sebastian with a look that could kill. Sebastian bowed, his hand over his chest. "..Yes, my lord."
I sighed, taking my cookies with me and stepping out with Sebastian. Oh great, tall dark and frightening. This should be interesting.
[Kuroshitsuji OST: The Butler, very softly]
Sebastian just stood there, stiff as a board in front of the door. I rolled my eyes, munching on a cookie. I then noticed, it was incredibly quiet. My eyes shifted to Sebastian's chest.
...
...
...
No heartbeat.
My eyes widened slightly. So Demons had no heartbeat? Or was it there and not beating on command? Holy shit thats creepy. I found myself liking reapers more then demons now.
"Your powers have doubled since last we met." Sebastian said in a monotone voice. I looked sheepish. "That obvious huh?" I asked, looking at the ground.
"The crystal gloss of your nails gave it away." He said like it was obvious.
I perked and looked at my nails. I was going to have to paint them. "Oh..." I said stupidly. God this demon was nosey. Maybe it was my turn to be nosey.
"Why is your aura so incredibly different from others?" I asked him, since I had been biting at the seams to find out.
"As a Vampire, I would think you would know..." He said in a smart ass remark. I pouted. "The aura is yours, but yet isn't. I sense hundreds, if not thousands of energies...All which are separate."
Sebastian gave a sly smirk, and I knew I was getting somewhere. I blinked and my eyes focused on the outer aura. I was able to see almost all layers of the aura...But still, it was completely dark...
My eyes widened slightly, a lightbulb going off in my head. "...It's the souls you've devoured isn't it?" I asked, though sounded more like a statement.
"Quite the bright one..." He said in a tone that I figured was sarcastic. Why did he have to be such an ass to me?
I rolled my eyes. "So, Energy is never destroyed, only transformed. The saying is true..." I said softly.
Some crows flew overhead, cawing loudly. I saw Sebastian glance at them. It was normal obviously, since one of his many forms was a crow. No doubt he could understand them.
Finally, we heard Undertaker snort. "Pffft!" The door creaked open. I peeked over Sebastian shoulder, seeing Undertaker drooling and looking baffled. "Oh I say...To think that earl would go that faaaar!" He was twitching with laughter. "Bffft...Guh..."
Ciel hair was ruffled and he was no longer wearing his coat. I raised an eyebrow. What the hell did Ciel do? It seemed a bit...pedophilic of a situation. I would have to inquire Undertaker about it later.
Sebastian was fixing the tossled strands of his hair back into place, almost fatherly like. "What on earth did you do? Look at your hair..." He murmured.
Ciel pushed his sleeves back down. "Don't ask, nevermind you." He fussed.
I snickered, returning by Undertaker's side, since I was obviously more comfortable with his energy. Of course, Undertaker paid me no mind. I started to wonder what he thought of me. He probably didn't much about my at all...Probably thought I was some pet.
Sebastian gave Ciel a look like he was highly amused of this situation. "Still, for you to resort to performing tricks if it is in the name of the queen...You really are a dog."
Ciel glared, a pulsating vein appearing on his face. "Enough. Shut your mouth." He ordered. Sebastian then helped him put his coat back on. I rolled my eyes, eating my last cookie.
"Now I've paid your fee. So lets hear about the children."
Undertaker just smirked, clutching his urn of biscuits. "There aren't any."
The shocked faces on the two were incredibly identical and I could not help but laugh and once again, choked on my cookie. It looked like Sebastian was going to lose his hair and Ciel was going to scream.
Undertaker lifted the papers, once again looking at them. I still wondered if he could actually see the fine print. "None of these children were among my customers...Nor have I heard rumors about them in the underworld."
I raised an eyebrow. I didn't believe he went through them in the first place. The papers were still neatly stacked from when Sebastian first laid them down. He was bullshitting them. But I didn't see any children come in so possibly that was why.
Ciel looked incredibly flustered. "So you don't know anything about this incident at all?" He asked.
Undertaker wiggled his index finger at him. "Not quite. I know that I 'do not' know about it."
I snickered softly in the background. These two were highly amusing. Even Undertaker was heaving with some laughter.
"Did you deceive me?" He accused him.
Undertaker held up a page from the stack. "Not at all. This is terribly useful information, is it not?" He asked slyly.
"Indeed." Sebastian said, putting his hand to his chin. "If you do not know, the fact remains that the children have not been killed in the underworld."
"If their bodies have not been found in either the outside world or the underworld, the likelihood of the children still being alive is quite high." Ciel said, his expression looking grave. "In which case...We have no other option left but to investigate said circus troupe directly."
Ciel then turned around, preparing to leave. "Well, that decides that, come Sebastian Undertaker, contact me if you come across any information."
"Milord..." Undertaker started, making Ciel turned his head to him.
Undertaker had a errie serious look to him, if that was possible with his eyes being seen.
His fingers intertwined. "A person has but one soul. Take very good care of yours."
Ciel looked curiously at him, halfway out the door. "I already know that..." He then existed out and shut the door. Undertaker laughed and twitched. "Do you really? Hee hee!"
I stared at Undertaker, curious about his strange obsession with Ciel's soul. Just what exactly did he mean by that?
Undertaker's violet aura had darkened a bit, almost muddy violet. I began to wonder about the children that would soon die in the fire. I felt a painful twinge in my chest. I feared I wouldn't be able to save them. I began to think...I could still try...I just needed to figure out how to get to them...
"Oh Aurora, could you be a dear and hold up the shop for me? I need to go out for just a little whiiiiiiile~" He said, getting up from his work area.
I nodded. "Sure...But where are you going?" I asked, which I knew I shouldn't have done.
"Thats a secret." He said, putting a finger to his lips.
I pouted, knowing that it wasn't the children he was leaving for. Must had been for bodies...Maybe he was searching for bodies every night?
"Okay mister mysterious. I'll hold up the shop for you." I mumbled, stealing his favorite chair and leaning back on it.
Undertaker pouted cutely, a glowing eye staring me down. I just grinned in response.
"I'll be gone for about twoooo hours, don't fall asleep now~" He said finally, opening the door and leaving.
I just waved, shivering as the cold air from outside hit me. I sat there for a while, knowing nobody was going to show up to his shop...Our shop...
I noticed I was starting to say It was mine as well, but I never said it in front of Undertaker. I was too afraid to say such things like that, when I thought maybe Undertaker didn't think of me a a business parter.
I had to stop assuming so much...
I sighed softly, laying my head on the desk tiredly. Pain was hitting my abdomen. I rubbed it and huffed. It hurt so much. When would the pain end?
Maybe...it wouldn't...
My eyes slowly closed. I had promised Undertaker I wouldn't fall asleep, but the day had been long for me...My body felt drained...I needed to sleep.
My eyes slid shut, and only my soft breathing could be heard. The was the end of the day for me...I will deal with Undertaker's badgering when it happens...
