Wind...Wind was always singing...
My eyes was staring at a stream that was flowing below me. I had taken a walk from Undertaker's shop. I had to get away. I was still a bit angry at him. And also I didn't know how to apologise to him.
I listened to the water flowing, finding it incredibly soothing. Nature contained so much life...
I was called to this part of the woods for some unknown reason. Perhaps the wood nymphs were playing with me again.
I stared at the emerald ring around my finger. Was it really a gesture of affection?
A small giggle made me perk.
A tiny glowing orb appeared in front of me. It soon formed into a tiny fairy with leaves as wings. It looked like a mini angel. It was female, and very beautiful. "Well, hello there." I said gently.
It giggled again. I smiled softly. These fairies were nothing but good. They helped the enviroment. Protected old trees of the forest...
"Do you need something?"
She made a chirping sound, motioning for me to follow. I raised an eyebrow and stood up, following after the dancing fairy. Was it going to play a silly prank on me? I turned my head, seeing more orbs of light appear. The fairies of this area were following us as well. They wanted to show me something...
My feet crunched over the dead leaves. I wondered if Undertaker was even mad with me. I never really saw him angry...
We soon came to a clearing. The only thing that stood were tree stumps. It was horrible, it looked so barren...dead...The murky colored sky above us didn't help at all either. It looked eerie...
I looked at them in expectancy. One giggled, and soon began to dance, throwing a ribbon around excitedly, fluttering it's wings around, throwing some dust around. I raised an eyebrow. They only danced if a plant was growing. And I only saw dead trees, long forgotten...
Suddenly I felt something grab my phone out of my pocket and I squeaked, one of the fairies had taken my cellphone. It was a prank afterall!
I screeched and went after the fairy, but it swiftly moved out of my reach. I continued to chase after it. Not all fairies were nice. Most were pranksters. "GIVE IT BACK!" I squeaked.
The fairy was looking at it with a curious look on it's face. It touched the screen, and music began playing.
[Enya: Adiemus]
It squeaked and dropped it, I caught it quickly, eyeing the song before putting it in my pocket. It was a beautiful song, so why not let it play?
The fairies perked at the beat and the beautiful voice coming from it, and instinctively began to dance and sing to it. I smiled. Music was everything to them. Music was also what helped plants grow supposedly.
I sang with it softly, enjoying the sound of my voice. I had not sung in so long. I had almost forgotten how...
Suddenly, I felt the ground beneath me pulse with energy. My eyes instinctively looked down, but of course. I saw nothing. Was it just a trick of the mind? I narrowed my eyes, and my eyesight saw the ground up close. No, it wasn't a trick. There was life stirring underneath the leaves...
I knelt down, and brushed leaves aside, finding a sprout of a tree of sorts. Was this what I felt?
Wait...Didn't Undertaker say I was an elemental?...Fire...Air...Water...
Earth...
My eyes went wide. I had caused a tree to sprout!? That quickly?
I stood up, and quickly turned up the music loudly. The seeds had been sleeping. And they needed to wake up.
I then restarted the song on the phone, making the fairies pause momentarily.
As soon as the beat began to pick up, I lifted my arms, and the leaves below me lifted up into the air, before swirling around us. It was beautiful.
Only the music and wind was heard. And the cluttering of leaves. I began to sing again, the ground beneath me stirring with life and energy once more.
My body felt light and weightless. I felt amazing. The fairies were dancing more vigorously, singing so beautifully. It was like angels were singing.
The ground began to stir, grass and weeds began to grow, and I found myself moving my feet to help them sprout.
The music increased in volume and I sang more proudly then I ever done before. All that stress was going away. All that anger...
The sorrow...The guilt...
I needed to do this more often.
The leaves were still swirling around us. Soon the tiny sprout grew into a small tree, before growing taller and taller, until I had to look up to watch it continue on to the sky. Another one sprouted as well, growing long thick branches and sprouting flowers. Then another, following after the first one.
But the one I was looking at then bloomed huge leaves. It was the most healthy tree I had ever seen. But that wasn't all, red thick apples sprouted on the branches of it. It was an apple tree! It looked like the one in my dream...
I found myself crying. It was beautiful. I had made something grow with my powers and voice. And all this time, I had feared I would destroy something so precious...
Instead, I had created it.
Soon the song ended, and the whirlwinds of leaves was broken, and began to fall all around us. The sun was now peaking through the murky clouds, shining down on the beautiful tree. It seemed to glow. I reached out, and took an apple from a low branch. I bit into the apple, eyes widening. It tasted perfect...So juicy...
The fairies danced a ring around the new tree, singing and giggling. But suddenly they scattered and screamed. The crunching of leaves got my attention. There stood Undertaker, silver hair blowing around delicately in the wind.
"Well now...I have not see anything like thaaaat~..." Undertaker said, genuinely surprised.
"...Neither have I...This is the first time I've done something like this..." I said, my voice sounding less then happy to see him.
There was an uncomfortable silence between us. Before I finally spoke to break the silence. A smile broke through. "You scared the fairies away." I snickered.
He gave a smile. "I'm not surprised...They rarely get close to reapers...I noticed you were gone for far longer then intended Aurora. You shouldn't run off like that. I'm not always there you knoooow~" He scolded, earning a glare from me.
"You're not my father...I needed some time alone. I was getting Cabin fever..."
Undertaker shook his head, getting closer to me. "There you go again, always thinking the worst... You're too serious..."
My eyes softened and I looked at the newly grown grass on the ground. "...I'm sorry, okay? I really am..." I said genuinely. He sauntered over, boots crunching against the falling leaves. He took another look around, marveling at my work of art.
My eyes remained on the ground, before I felt his hands on my chin, lifting my face to look at him. "Consider your apology accepted..." I was shocked to hear him say that. Just like that? That was too easy...No there had to be a catch...
But no, he was making advances on me again, and before I could speak, he planted a kiss to my lips. I felt my chest tighten in response. My stomach doing flips. This was Undertaker's way of apologizing...
It was a beautiful moment, leaves falling all around us, the sun breaking through them, emitting shadows of leaves.
Still, I did not kiss him back...
My mind wasn't wanting to accept it. I never once had a good relationship with someone. Being touched by someone you loved made me nervous. And a kiss felt so awkward to me. Who invented the kiss? It was weird. Lips against lips. Or it was just me?...
He pulled away, "Hesitating will get you nowheeeere~" He sang, finding me amusing.
"Kissing is weird..." I said simply, rolling my eyes and looking away. The strange feeling in my chest faded.
"You just haven't been expoooosed to it~" A smirk appeared on his face and I knew he was up to something...
I shook my head frantically, seeing him get too close. "Nope...Nope...Don't... Personal space."
He chuckled, finding my uncomfortableness amusing. Did he really do that to make me nervous? "You're very sensitive..." He said in a teasing matter. His aura was the pretty pink again. All about tenderness...
I once again wanted to leave, to run away. My mind didn't know how to comprehend relationships. Maybe that was my sociopath side talking...I was so used to being alone...I never knew what another's touch felt like.
I flinched when I felt his hand touch my own, and gently grip it. God why was he so touchy feely? My body was working against me. It bothered me. I didn't like being touched that way. Hugs were okay, but not caressing or kissing...Or nipping for that matter.
I could instinctively see him telling me to relax. It was probably understandable about my sensitivities. Skin against skin made me flinch. His hands felt calloused, so much like my own from woodworking...But his were from being a reaper...
I then gripped his hand, finding myself more comfortable with the idea of holding hands. I could feel his energy coming off his hand. Maybe that's why I was so afraid of touch? Was I really okay with the idea of holding his hand?
He lifted his head, revealing one of his eyes. I flushed uncomfortably. I felt like he was staring into my soul, scanning me. I felt naked, cornered, stripped. Why did his eyes tell and do so much?
"You rely too much on your mind..." His free hand placed itself over my chest. "When you should rely more on this." Was he tutoring me on relationships? Really? God damn you Undertaker...
"Then this should help..." I said, putting my arms around him, giving him a gentle hug. He chuckled, his chest rumbling. "It's a start...Now then, how about we grab some apples to bake a pie?" He asked me.
I smiled softly. "That sounds wonderful..."
Just then, a wood nymph fluttered over, chirping at me. I watched it curiously. So did Undertaker. Apparently he could see them too. Well duh, he was a reaper. "Do you need something, little feye?" I asked it.
It shook it's little beautiful head, before planting a audible kiss on my nose. needless to say, I was surprised. "Are you thanking me?" I asked. It chirped and nodded. It was probably a huge honor to dance and grow plants with the feye. I didn't know what to feel from it really. I was happy I suppose.
"You're welcome little feye..." I said, watching it look at Undertaker with a curious expression. Undertaker was just as curious. No doubt he had never been so close to a fairy before.
I then realised I had been hugging him this whole time. I slowly let go, my eyes looking away in nervousness.
Suddenly, the little feye fluttered over to him, lifting his hat up. It wanted to see his eyes. I smirked a little, thinking it would shriek and fly away at the sight of them. But to my surprise, it parted his hair and gave a small gasp. But it did not move from the spot.
The little feye was braver then me. For it was giving him direct eye contact. Undertaker's irises glowed brightly, staring right back at it. He slowly blinked.
"It's probably not seen a reaper before..." I said, earning a nod from the little wood nymph. "Probably thinks you're cute too..."
The wood nymph blushed, and took off in embarrassment, hiding behind the trees. I snickered loudly. "That was adorable..."
Then, Undertaker's eyes snapped to look at me. I felt my chest tighten again. That strange feeling in my stomach was back...
He cocked his head, letting his bangs slide over his eyes. A smile was back on his face. I felt myself relax. Those eyes were hypnotic.
"Now, how about them apples..." He chuckled.
.../\/\/\...
"...So...When we were fighting...Why did I bite you?" Asked Aurora, who was watching him slide the uncooked pie into the old stove.
A big smirk was on his face. And She knew it had to do with something She wouldn't agree with...
"Vampires are not with the times anymore. And still have the instinct of courtship in their veins. Remember, all vampires originated from one species of vampire..." He said, holding his bony index finger up.
"...Courtship?" Aurora had an eyebrow raised, looking at him like he was nuts...well...more nuts then normal.
"Yes, in a ritual or courtship...Two males would be pitted against each other. And whoever came out alive, would take the female..."
"...But you were the only male there..." A look of realization came over her face. "I marked you..."
"Correct. You were stimulated by how dominating I was being towards you. And you became submissive. And you bit me to mark me as a mate..."
Aurora looked like she was going to throw up. So she thought she was in a mating ritual? Eeeeeeew...
"So...what does this mean exactly?" She asked, fearing the worst.
"I'm your mate m'dear, simple as thaaat~." He smirked, resting his chin on his intertwined hands and staring at her.
"..." Her eye twitched, before she blushed furiously. How the hell was she supposed to respond to that? Seriously? For real?
"Are you not pleased with the idea?" He tilted his head curiously.
She shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know how to respond to that. I'm happy with the idea of being with you..." She answered truthfully.
"But the thought of me leaving you liiiingers~..." He answered for her and she looked away. He then stood up and came to her side, taking her hands into his.
"I cannot promise I will always stay by your side..." His voice was barely a whisper now. "But I can promise, I am fond for you." He said, making her look up in surprise.
"...You always know what to say, but can't you just say "I love you"?" She asked, and he just grinned in response. Of course he couldn't say it. He was a male. Males didn't say things like that. Unless of course...The female said it first.
But even She couldn't say it full blown that way. She felt uneasy saying it. But She DID truly love him...
"Love you too, Old man..." Aurora said simply, making him snicker. He liked it when She called him "old man." He technically was old. But he obviously didn't look it.
Soon, the sand timer ran out and he cooed. "Oooh? Looks like the pie is doooone~" He sang.
.../\/\/\...
"Oh my god this tastes amazing." Squeaked Aurora, who had a slice of Undertaker's apple pie. It was like having a bite of heaven. How did he do it?
He chuckled, seeing a bit of pie was on her face. "I'm Glad to hear it." He said, patting her shoulder, before disappearing into the back again.
Aurora was once again, tempted to follow after him. She wanted to take it a step further in their relationship. By revealing what she knew about him...
She stood up, nervously walking towards the back room, heart pounding. There was a door that looked old and rickety. She reached out to open the door, when Undertaker's hand appeared, shutting it quickly. Aurora blinked and jumped, didn't he just go back there? Or was he pretending to? Or was he just fast?
"Curiosity killed the cat...Don't let me catch you wondering down there m'dear. Many horrors are down there~" He warned her, trailing his fingers up her arm.
Keeping calm, she raised an eyebrow. "Thats comforting~" She said sarcastically." But soon her voice turned serious. "Do you work on the dead down there?" She asked curiously.
"Yes...Mainly the mangled ones or others that have suffered a death that could still be deady to the living...Diseases and such..." His voice was soundly deadly, and full of seriousness.
His fingers made it's way to her neck, gently caressing her. Now Aurora was becoming nervous. But she knew he wouldn't hurt her, and gently took his hand, holding it tightly.
"Do you need my help?" She asked him, and there was a change in his aura, it glowed a brilliant gold, before returning to it's purple color. "No my dear, this calls for more experience. And you are still human, and the disease could quickly spread to you as well."
Aurora knew he was full of shit. His aura was dark around the edges. He was hiding it from her. She looked a little saddened. "...Okay..." She said simply, looking down. It was halfly an act. But she was genuinely sad.
Undertaker then smiled. "When you've matured into a full vampire, you can assist me down there. But for now, stay out of the basement..." He said with a hint of something else...Knowing...
She gave a soft sigh, "I will...I'm sorry for being nosey..."
He ruffled her hair, earning a whine. "Enough apologizing. Go have some more pie and go nap~ I know you're tired from the woods." He said. God why did he fucking know so much? It was annoying.
"Okay...Fiiiiiiiiine." She whined, fixing her hair and going back to the kitchen to have some more of that delicious pie...Sweet juicy pie.
But she couldn't help but wonder. When was she going to tell him about the bizarre dolls? That she knew what was going to happen soon. How would it affect her relationship with him? Would he trust her enough? It was a huge step in trust altogether...
The question was, Did Aurora trust him enough...
She stared at the slice of the pie in her hands, before nibbling on it. It was warm, and juicy and perfect. He added cinnamon or something into it. It had a kick to it. She could feel her legs turning to jello. She really was tired... She was soon full, and feeling more tired then before. And she was surprised that she made it to the bedroom in her state.
She fell onto the bed, weakly trying to get the blanket over her. The bed was so comfortable. She could feel her body sink into it comfortably. Oh how she missed this bed...
Her eyes soon shut. Crickets were heard chirping outside. All was calm...
CRASH.
My eyes shot open quickly. I heard a huge crash coming from the other side of the house, and faint growling. Where was Undertaker? I could see light outside. Was it early morning? How long had I been out? Days? Hours?
I got up quickly, eyes scanning the room. I grabbed one of Undertaker's satobas that was laying against the dresser, and stuffed it under my robe below my collar.
He was always laying those damn things around...I made it to the kitchen and looked around, wondering where Undertaker was.
THUD
That time, it came from the basement...
I felt my body go cold and tense up. A chill went down my spine. The only thing standing between me and my curiosity...was that door...I remembered Undertaker's warning from before. But...I had to tell him what I knew...
I slowly opened the door, only to reveal a flight of stairs. So his basement went clear underground...
It was pitch black...But I was a vampire...My eyes narrowed, and I took the first step down, the stairs creaked muffledly, making my ears ring. Was I really going to do this? Risk my life?
I love him...
I felt my chest tighten. Undertaker wouldn't dare hurt me...Not after how I was trying so hard for him...And I wouldn't let him kill me...
I took another step, and felt my heart begin to race. Was I really doing this?
Then, a deep unearthly growl was emitted from down below. And my eyes widened slightly. That was a classic zombie growl...He really did have them...It was really happening...The more I took a step, the more I could hear what was happening.
"Now now, don't be that way. You're breaking the stitches." Fussed Undertaker's voice. Another growl was heard.
I paused, wondering if I should turn around and run back... I came this far only to chicken out? I don't think so. I took another step, and came to another door. This was the only thing standing in my way now...
I took the handle and softly turned it quietly. I had to catch him off guard...But not to the point to where he attacks me by accident.
Another growl and I left go of the door handle noisily. Luckily Undertaker didn't hear it due to the zombie growling so loud.
I leaned down, peeking through the old keyhole. I could see Undertaker...And the zombie, strapped down to a table...I could smell death. The smell of rotting corpses...
His back was to me slightly. I breathed softly. I was so close...
The zombie suddenly lurched up violently, arms trying to raise up. It sensed a soul nearby. And that caught Undertaker's attention. "...Ooooh?~" His voice cooed, eyes looking to where it was trying to go. The door...
My eyes widened. Every nerve in my body was stimulated and tensed. Sweat rolled down my brow. BUSTED! OH SHIT!
"Looks like we have a visitor little one..." I could feel his footsteps rumble across the floor. He was coming closer to the door and I stood up straight. I grabbed the door handle and opened it. I wouldn't have it end with him doing it for me. The door creaked loudly, revealing me in the doorway.
I stood there, seeing Undertaker looking at me with a shocked expression. Had he really not expected it to be me?...
We stood there, just staring at each other. Sweat continued to fall from my face. I had never felt so tense in my entire life. This was it. Would our bond be broken?
The zombie behind him snapped it's jaws loudly, wanting so desperately to tear me open to try and take my soul. But the straps kept it tightly in place. It's loudly noises went unheard by me and Undertaker.
Undertaker continued to stare at me, his eyes revealed and looking at me with a unknown thought. A shocked looked never looked good on him.
I opened my mouth and spoke, my voice echoing off the walls of the basement, breaking the intense silence and ending it.
"...Undertaker...I knew..."
