It all happened at once, one swift movement saved Jane's life as she knocked the gun from his hand and pinned him down by his throat. It was a brawl. Reaver stunned at the fact that a mortal has disarmed the hero of skill had a pair of small but strong hands around his neck and for a moment as he looked into the brown orbs of the young girls eyes he saw someone, he saw her.

"Now I know everything, Reaver." Jane said through her teeth as she tightened her grip, "And I know for a fact that nobody will miss you."

"It's not the fact that nobody will miss me. It's the fact that everyone in this bloody kingdom needs me." He suddenly had her pinned down, "the difference between you and me well if you die achem which you will" he tightened his grip around her throat, "You just die." Jane felt a tear slide down the side of her face as her life slowly slipped away in the hands of this deviant.

Reaver was losing it, his anger was being unleashed out on this young girl but then just as she was about to close her eyes for the last time, he let go. After five minutes of hearing Jane's gasps and coughs they both stood up and Jane of course held his own gun to his head, "Leave." He said ignoring the gun being pointed at his head.

Jane tilted her head in confusion and skeptically set the gun down on his desk and turned to say something but was interrupted by a loud stern voice, "Leave. Now." Reaver angrily brushed a hand through his hair. The last thing Jane heard was glass shattering.

The next 3 weeks fell into a regular routine get up, serve breakfast, clean up the body and hire a new cook. Jane didn't see Reaver a lot after that brawl they had and she was relieved but curious, "Why didn't he kill me?"

Jane was starting to get anxious and bored. It was the same people every day and she'd imagine that Reaver would probably really kill her if she left again. She needed to do something besides clean and sleep. Later that day she heard a happy Reaver's voice below through the mansion, "Get ready everyone! I am throwing one of my famous parties tonight and I want my staff to look" he smirked at Jane, "Ravishing."

The maids giggled and the butlers whispered to each other and Jane had to admit that she was almost looking forward to tonight. When she walked into her room she was in for a surprise when she saw a red bag on her bed with a card attached to it, "My guest of honor must look almost as good as me." She rolled her eyes at the narcissists note and opened the bag, in it was a dark purple velvet dress that shined in the light, "Wow."

It was nearly nightfall and Jane didn't know how Reaver knew her exactly bust and hip size but after 3 hours of trying to get her hair and make-up just right she was ready, "Excuse me, Miss?"

"Come in." Jane was adjusting her bear necklace when a maid walked into her room looking as fancy as everyone else but she was wearing a fox mask.

She set down a pillow with a red covering it, "Reaver requests that you wear this tonight."

Jane looked curiously at the pillow, "Thank you." The maid left and Jane gently removed the cloth and found that it had been covering a black cat mask. The mask was decorated with feathers, purple diamonds and golden whiskers.

Before putting on the mask Jane looked at herself in the mirror and frowned, she didn't recognize herself and she looked about 10 years older. As she walked down the stairs she saw all the people, all the alcohol and heard all the talking, she wasn't exactly sure what to do so she tried to find Reaver. After 15 minutes of not being able to find Reaver she gave up and started to drink champagne.

"Well, well you look almost as ravishing as me, my dear." Reaver snuck up behind her and wrapped his arm around her waist making her squeal and blush hoping the mask hid it well. Reaver was dressing in white with a black bird mask on and his iconic top hat.

"What exactly am I supposed to do?"

Reaver smirked wolfishly, "Well we can go to my quarters and-"

"Anything else?"

"Oh yes, just wait and see my little minx."
