"Yumi, get back here!"
Naruto was chasing his three year old daughter around the living room, as she jumped around and tossed objects at him, taunting him. She had seemed to master the ability to use the Nine-Tails' cloak, or at least manipulate it, and was using her single tail to chuck objects at him and bounce around the room. It became more difficult, as he had to go into Chakra Mode just to catch everything so Ino wouldn't kill him later.
"My one day off from paper work, and I have to spend it chasing you around, 'ttebayo!" He yelled, catching a vase and tossing it onto the couch as he tried the close the distance.
Yumiko only chuckled and leapt on top of the bookshelf. "You should've just let me practice with the kunai on Nii-san, 'ttebaya! I said just once!"
He growled and lunged at her, but she just jumped over his head, slapping the top of his head her chakra tail to push off, causing him to hit the floor with a thud.
Not to be outdone, he extended one of his chakra arms and snatched Yumiko out of the air. As she struggled, he slowly stood and puffed out his chest. "Don't mess with the Hokage, 'ttebayo!"
Yumiko burst into laughter as her cloak receded and he tossed her into the air with the chakra arm, turning off his own Chakra Mode and catching her in his arms. He gave her a hug as he started to laugh too and she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Just then, Ino walked through the door carrying groceries and they both whipped their heads around.
"Dammit! Naruto and Yumiko Uzumaki!" Seeing the mess, she dumped the bags on the counter and stomped over to them. "I leave you to watch them for an hour, baka! Seriously?!"
He cleared his throat to keep from laughing and ran his fingers through her long hair. "How can you automatically assume it was us? Kintaro lives here too." Yumiko slapped her hand over her mouth as she stifled a giggle and buried her face into his neck.
Ino balled her fist and gave a deep, aggravated sigh. "Naruto .. because you are holding my child, I won't hit you right now." She glanced at Yumiko and looked ready to slap her in the back of her head, when she sighed again. "You and I both know, that Kintaro is a good, quiet boy, like myself. And Yumi is loud and obnoxious like you!"
He was grinning from ear to ear as he countered her. "But, you've always been loud and obnoxious, Ino, even as a kid."
Then it came. Whack! She slapped him right on the back of his. He looked at her shocked for a moment and Yumiko burst out laughing, her face still in his neck. He put his free hand on the point of impact and burst out laughing too.
"It's like talking to a brick wall!" Ino yelled in frustration. She walked to where Kintaro sat silently next to the couch, watching. She picked him up and hugged him tightly. "How's mommy's good baby boy?!" She nearly shouted into his face, making him recoil.
Ino hugged him again as she saw she'd startled him and Naruto started laughing again, while Yumiko just pointed and giggled. He heard another light growl from Ino and she stomped out of the living room with Kintaro in tow. "Clean up this damn mess, I'm not doing it again!"
He and Yumiko nodded at one another and she jumped out of his arms onto all fours, turning on her cloak and using her tail to grab her mother's ankle. He grinned and turn on his Chakra Mode again, extended a hand to wrap it around his wife's waist and pull her towards him. She folded her arms in annoyance as she was pulled across the living room.
Yumiko let go and grabbed Kintaro out of her arms with her tail, wrapping it around his waist and tugging him towards their room until he started to follow her.
Naruto turned the chakra off when she was within arms length and wrapped his arms around Ino's waist pulling her close and burying his face in her neck. "C'mon, don't be mad, 'ttebayo." He purred, giving her small kisses.
"Naruto, seriously." She grumbled, but made no move to get away. "I can't .. reward you for screwing my house up."
He lifted his head and smiled at her. "No need. I just don't want you mad at me."
She melted as he grinned up at her and kissed his forehead, resting her head on top of his. "I can't stay mad. Did you do it though?"
He shook his head. "Yumi. I had to chase her around the living room while she was throwing stuff because I wouldn't let her throw a kunai at Kin."
Ino frowned. He pulled her over to the couch and she wrapped her arms around his shoulders as he pulled her into his lap. "I can't tell if she's sadistic or just an asshole. Or a sadistic asshole." She mumbled.
He chuckled and shrugged. "I'm not sadistic, so she's probably just being a bully to get attention."
Ino rolled her eyes and sighed. "Well she has parents, and that was your problem, so what's hers?" She rubbed his head gently to show she didn't mean anything by her words.
He shrugged. "Probably because I'm Hokage now and I don't have as much time to spend with her. But, when I do we have fun and its good, 'ttebayo!" He started to plead a case.
"I know, I know." She soothed him, kissing his forehead again. "Maybe .. maybe we really shouldn't have done what we did. I know we were young .. er. But, we should have waited."
He shrugged and shook his head. "It's not like we asked for kids." He grumbled with a smirk.
She glared down at him and when he met her gaze, he chuckled and rested his head on her chest. She obviously still held a grudge against him for the night he'd gotten her pregnant. Sort of on purpose, but also kind of not.
"Sorry." He stifled another laugh, but she started giggling and grabbed his face in her hands. "It's okay. I love them, I love you, and that's all that matters." She planted a kiss on his lips and he growled playfully and rolled over, pinning her down as she shrieked and giggled.
That night, Naruto lay in bed, unable to sleep. Ino roused from his tossing and turning, facing him and stroking his cheek gently. He sighed and she frowned again.
"What's up with you?" She asked, bringing her free hand around the back of his head and playing in his hair.
He shook his head. "I just .. I have to be Hokage again tommorrow. I didn't know it would be this hard, 'ttebayo .."
She grinned and pressed her forehead against his. "You're Hokage everyday. You protect the whole village and they all thank you for it."
He sighed. "Yeah, at the cost of my family. I'm only here long enough to sleep next to you, Ino. And even then we don't talk, 'ttebayo."
She pressed her lips to his, hard, to slience him. She grabbed a fistful of his hair and pulled him closer to her. He breathed a sigh and wrapped his arms around her, closing the distance. When they finally broke apart, she rested her forehead back against his. "We're your family. We're here and we'll always be here. You're a good father and you're good to me."
He smiled and closed his eyes. "I guess I can take Yumi to the office tomorrow. That should appease her, right?"
Ino nodded. "It doesn't take much to appease her, she's got a one-track mind."
Naruto laughed and nodded. "I don't know what I'd do without you, Ino."
She grabbed his hair roughly again and tugged. "Make love to your hand. Now get over here Hokage-sama."
He chuckled and pressed his lips to hers once more.
