Because I could not stop for Death

He kindly stopped for me

The Carriage held but just ourselves

And Immortality. - Emily Dickinson

Jane woke up feeling dirty and sticky Avo knows how long it's been since she took a bath. She felt a tightness around her waist and looked over to find the source, "GET OFF ME, YOU DISGUSTING DEVIENT!" she flung herself away from him and looked furiously at the charming deviant that looked almost as horrible as her.

"Ugh please enough with the yelling, I'd shoot you right now if I had my precious dragonstomper." Reaver yawned and stretched his muscular body that Jane couldn't resist catching a glimpse at.

Jane threw his dirty coat at him, "Let's go." She was hungry, tired, hot, sticky and sweaty all she wanted to do is find Aurora. Reaver left his coat and frowned knowing that it was beyond saving now, of course he'll just buy a new one and followed the obviously irritated girl watching he wavy brown hair bounce with every angry step she took.

"This cave is rather dark." Reaver said after twenty minutes of silence.

"Well, I'm sorry Reaver I can't just pull a torch out of my-" there was a squeak and a yelp that sounded far too feminine to be any animal, the sound of rocks falling rung in Reaver's ears.

Defenseless and blind from the total darkness Reaver cursed and began to try and clear the rocks, "Jane? Hello my little minx?" there was no response but a faint hissing, "Guess I have to find you." He carefully wanders through the darkness completely unaware of the shadows that stalked him.

Jane rubbed her head and felt a sharp pain near her foot though it was too dark to see anything. In the distance she could see a purple glow and she limped slowly towards it, "By Avo I just want to go home." She sighed.

"Who's there!?" Reaver shouted standing his ground, whispers and footsteps have been following him and he was getting angry.

"She's not here. She's not here. She's not here." the whispers were getting louder and Reaver picked up his pace.

Jane finally made it to the mysterious purple glow that was a portal that led deeper into the cave, she noticed the skeletons that laid ominously around it and picked up on of the rusty swords that looked somewhat durable. While she was searching the skeletons she found a dusty and charred journal, inside most of the pages were illegible except one, "It speaks to us still. Darkness incarnate. We know now we can never escape it." The portal was open and Jane felt as if it was inviting her inside and so she descended.

Reaver was panting and running, "She's not here. You killed her. She's not her." The whispers shouted into his ears.

"SHUT UP." He shouted and covered his ears as he ran through the darkness.

Jane thought about Reaver and to her surprise the narcissists actually started to grow on her, he was such a mystery to her, "Where is that bloody deviant?" she walked through the darkness hoping she would find a sign of the man, but as she descended deeper the whispers grew louder in her head.

"He lied to you. He lied to you. They lied to you." Jane began to panic and visions of dead bodies began to flow through her mind.

"Oh god no. Please stop!" she covered her ears and ran as fast as she could through the darkness.

Then she hit what felt like a brick wall, "Ah Ill kill you!" she punched and it punched right back.

"Jane? JANE!" Reaver was panting and suddenly he found himself glad that this young girl was around, "Oh by Avo."

Jane jumped off him also panting as they hesitated to find eachother, "WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!" she grasped his hand and they ran.

Shadows were surrounding them but they could see that in the distance there was light, "There!" she pointed and she felt another sharp pain come down and rake across her skin, "AGH" she let go of Reaver's hand. He was gone.

The shadows disappeared along with Reaver, "REAVER!" she ran back into the darkness.

Reaver's eyes were black and all he could see was the figure of a dead body mangled and ripped to pieces , "NO!" he was restrained, cold and he knew that he was soon going to die.

"OH GOD." Jane found him, he was covered in black goo and his eyes looked black as night, "Reaver I'm coming!"

Jane pulled out her rusty sword and swung at the shadows as they swarmed around her, slicing and slashing as her flesh, but she was determined to get out of here. Alive.

Just as she sliced the last shadow down she ran up to Reaver who was moaning from pain and fear something struck her back, and arrow. She was using what last strength she had to throw the sword at the shadow and it struck it in the head, "Don't…worry Reaver…I'm getting you out of here." She cut the restraints and led him to the light.

They limped through the sand and loss of blood was causing Jane to lose her balance, "Don't leave me." Whimpered Reaver.

Jane kept trying to comfort him, "We're almost there Reaver. We're almost there." She could see a statue up ahead but what last of her strength was left disappeared and she fell into a black void.
