So this is chapter 2 the reaping and a little bit of drama and we also see Willow gets her token her to take with her to the capitol!
After I'm finished at the Hob I have six fowl bird left, some deer meat, a leg from a wild dog, one bag of apples and strawberries each, a good chunk of goat cheese from the tread, two stacks of white fabric that can be dyed and made into clothes, some vegetables and spice's over all a good hall for this week. I star to leave the Hob and Aaron catches up to me and say's hey cues today is supposed to be a holiday here's a present. He hands me a small brown bag I reach in and find a dark brown braid bracelet with purple charms in the braid. How much did this cost to make I sitter. Not much and you deserve it after the ruff deal in life you have had. Here put it on. I smile and slip my wrist through the lope and look at it on my wrist it truly looks nice I will ware it with pride! I huge Aaron and say thanks.
Then I run off with the haul to my house to get ready even though today is a horrible day I feel a bit better after being in the woods and treading and getting a gift from Aaron but all the good feelings diapers when I get in and see Ray standing in the living room wearing a white long sleeve button down, dark grey pants and black shoes with a short in the back and slightly longer in the front hair cut. I remember what today really is. Then my Ante walks in wearing a simple black with poke dots dress, naïve blue flats and her hair in a braided bun on her head she looks nice though. She says okay Willow now it's time you get ready there's a hot bath waiting for you upstairs when your done go to your room and I will come up and cut your hair and get you ready. I take my bath and clean up after I'm done I go to mine and Ray's room and sit on the chair in the front of the mirror and wait for my Ante Prim. Shortly after she comes in with the scissors and begins sniping at my wet hair. Then an inch of old hair lays on the floor then she puts my hair in a simple bun and curs two strands on ether side of my face and say there done now time for your clothes. I turn and see my Ante holding a white quarter length sleeve dress that goes to my knees and black flats. I say it looks to nice but to nice for me to ware. No sense my Ante says you will look lovely in this she then leaves I sigh and put it on. I look in the mirror I really look like a girl right now it's weird I so used to being in pants and a T-shirt.
Then I head down to see all my family standing in the living room dressed for the reaping. My Uncle wares a similar set of clothes to the ones Ray is wearing only it's a black button down shirt, black pants and black shoes. He smile and say well don't you look lovely Willow. I smile and say thanks. Then Ray makes a comment a little to much don't you think she looks like a girl for once! I punch him in the arm and say thanks! Then the clock sticks two and the chimes go off letting us know we have to be in the square in twenty minutes for the Reaping.
My Ante and Uncle wish me and Ray good luck and in a way we do have good luck considering my Ante wouldn't let me and Ray go for treasures. Are names are only in the bowls 5 times where there is kids who have there names in 40 or more times do to treasures. Right before me and Ray split apart for check in and the reaping it self I hug him and say good luck and say tell Aaron I say good luck to him as well. Ok sis good luck to you too. Then I come up to the tables. The harsh woman peace keeper says HAND NOW! I give her my hand and she drags my wrist even farther, pricks my finger hardily and slams it down to measure. Then snaps NEXT! I walk off into my group think wow she's even sniper then me! I sand in the group of 14 year old girls and wait. Once everyone is accounted for it begins. It stars with Mayor Madge Undersee. A middle aged woman with pale skin, blue eye, blond hair in a curled up do with gem clips in it and she's wearing a white suite you can tell she's the Mayor because no one from the Seam can afford to do there hair like that or dress like that. She looks to be about 42/43 about the age my sick mother would be if she was here! Mayor Undersee reads the history of Panem. Then she introduces District 12's Escort for this year. Mitzey Trinket is taking over for her mother Effie who passed away last year after the games. Mitzey is fresh form the Capitol with black and yellow hair, the creepiest white smile ever, yellow towel dress, bright blue stiletto boots and glowing green eyes. Hello everyone and Happy Hunger Games! I must say it is an honor to be District 12's escort! Now a special precaution for you from the Capitol about this years Quell! We watch the screen where a woman in her 20's comes on screen she has snow white hair definitely not her natural color with a white rose, with black lips, eyeliner, stormy ice eyes and warring a long black dress. She induces herself as President Silone Snow the second. She must have just taken over for her horrible grandfather caring on his tradition of terrorism on the Districts. This year's games mark the anniversary of the very first games. The fifth Quarter Quell but this year we will not be only celebrating the anniversary of the games but also the Districts themselves. Each unified in its own way. So instead of two Tributes going only one will go this year! So my fare District 12 you have the honor of sending one lucky girl to stand for you in the games! Good luck ladies and may the odds ever be in your favor! The screen goes black and I grow sick what if one of my friends has to go or myself! I know if I go I will never see my family ever again just because of what my stupid mother did! But a list my poor brother won't have to go or my cousin. So Mitzey continues now for the words of the dark days. After we are reminded of both wars and past it is time for the unlucky girl's name to be drawn. Mitzey skitters over to the bowl of girls names moves her hand around a bit to stir up the drama. Finally she snatches a paper and skitters over to the microphone and reads the name. "Willow Mellark"!
I find it hard to breathe as walk out to the stage. I am crowed by Peace Keepers. Till someone shouts HEY! I turn to see my brother has exited his crowed and is running up to me saying NO! "You can't take her"! He tries to fight through the Peace keepers but it is no use. They simply push him away and two of them drag him away and the other two take me to the stage. I know no one will volunteer for me because after what my mother did a rule was made that no one can volunteer anymore witch puts a damper on the career Districts who love to volunteer. Then once I'm on the stage Mitzey claps and say how about a hand for our Tribute Willow Mellark! No one claps instead they give me the three fingers like my mother. Right before I am escorted off I see my Ante clinging to my Uncle crying and he holds Ray as well. I pity my Ante she doesn't deserver this after seeing her sister leave for the games twice. I pity all my family because none of them deserve this!
