He was sitting at the edge of the clock tower so deep in his thoughts that he never heard the footsteps behind him.
"You're here early" the red haired man said as he walked past the blonde.
"No you're just late Axel" he chuckled.
The man named Axel slammed himself on the edge beside Roxas and handed him a light blue ice cream, both enjoying their ice-cream until Roxas speaks "today makes 255" Axel looks at him weirdly "it's been that many days, since I first joined the Organization"
"You got the number memorized do you?"
"I've got to hang on to something right?" he looks at Axel with a slight puppy face.
Axel chuckled then shook the boy's hair "sure thing Roxas"
He woke up with a start and panted for breath, and tried to remember what last happened, that was when Roxas realized that he wasn't even in his own room, in fact it didn't even look like his place at all, the problem was while he was trying to keep his breathing it slowly began to quicken as he realised that he had no clothing on aside from his boxers.
"About time you woke up kid" called a voice.
"AAH!" screamed Roxas who then half fell off the bed so that his upper half was on the floor while his lower half was still on the bed, since it was still partly dark he had a hard time seeing who the person was.
The person raised his arms up like he was surrendering "easy there Roxas, or have you forgotten me already?" the cocky tone was there.
He seems familiar; who does it remind me of? Roxas thought for a moment, until "MR. FLYNN?!" Roxas shouted at the top of his lungs, unfortunately he still couldn't move as his body refused to do anything.
"Since you are going to be staying here I think it would best that you call me by my first name Axel"
Roxas' eyes widened that name, it does sound familiar, is it the name from my dreams? Wait it can't be that name was called Lea, wait hang on a moment the last dream that I just had someone called him Axel, could that be him?
"Yoo-hoo earth to Roxas" Axel sang as he waved his hand in front of Roxas "you going to reply to me or what?"
Roxas screamed, again, and this time he jumped on the bed to try and get away from Mr Flynn, no Axel as far as possible "why do you want me to stay with you I told you that my parents were late from work and were going to come home"
Axel however just stepped forward to help Roxas even though he was further away from him "really? Because when you fainted I had to look through all the rooms to find yours and all of them were bare, even you're supposed parents room" even though it sounded somewhat cocky his expression was neutral.
Roxas gulped and looked way from Axel "I don't really think that is any of your business sir, and it is against the rules for a teacher to look after a student in their own home"
"Yeah well if you haven't realised yet, this is an apartment not a house" Roxas then noticed the size of the room was in fact something that only an apartment would have "plus if you don't want me telling anyone about you not having any parents then you would do well to listen to me"
Roxas looked at Axel in horror "you wouldn't"
Axel looked at him seriously so Roxas knew he wasn't lying "yes I would, you need guardianship Roxas, allow me to look after you not officially and I won't tell anyone that you live on your own"
Roxas knew he was in deep trouble, Axel wasn't kidding when he said he would tell someone and Roxas knew he had no choice but to accept, letting out a frustrated sigh he said "alright I'll let you look after me but if this gets out I won't hesitate to kill you" he growled the last bit at Axel dead in the eye.
Axel obviously knew that Roxas meant it but decided to tease him a little "sure you will kid" he rubbed Roxas' hair and quickly moved before Roxas could lash out like a cat.
"I would appreciate it sir that you don't start favouring me otherwise people will get suspicious"
"Trust me Roxas I know, I got that warning from my boss and a big threat"
"And what threat would that be?" Roxas had a suspicion.
"He would cut of a very manly part of me" he said simply.
Roxas busted out laughing, hard, he had a feeling it would be that "yeah and you would be talking high pitched for a week" he tried holding it back in but he could not contain himself.
"You really hate me that much?" his face showed a bit of hurt.
Roxas however couldn't stop the laughter until he started getting light headed and passed out from the lack of oxygen.
"I don't have any memories from before; do you remember when we first met? I acted like a zombie"
Axel placed a hand on Roxas' shoulder "yeah I remember that first week you could barely form a sentence, but hey you still are kind of a zombie" he playfully shoved Roxas.
"Oh thanks" Roxas replied sarcastically.
Both laughed and began eating their ice-creams "hey Roxas, bet you don't know why the sun sets red? You see light is made up of different colours and out of all those colours red travels furthest"
"Like I asked, know it all" Roxas playfully shoved Axel.
Even though it sounded a little forced both laughed at what Axel had just said before calming down and Axel laid down on the ground behind him with his feat hanging on the edge.
"Roxas, Roxas can you hear me?" called a voice.
Roxas groaned and dared not to move as his head felt like he had just hit a lorry and truck all at the same time "who are you again?" he mumbled.
He felt the person tense "please don't forget me again it hurts me already that you don't know much about your past but for you to forget again I will scream in pain, please Roxas, please don't pull my leg" the persons face was leaning and breathing on his neck.
Roxas finally managing to gain his awareness and quickly moved away from his teacher, Er Axel "I'm fine sir, just trying to get my brain into gear" he let out a nervous chuckle before looking away from Axel in case he decided to tease him.
Fortunately he didn't, in fact he freaked Roxas out by grabbing him by the waist and squeezing the air out of him again while letting out a sigh of relief "thank Kingdom Hearts that you're ok, I don't know what I'd do without you Roxas" Axel was visibly shaking but was holding back the tears that were trying to escape.
Roxas could do nothing but stay there since he still felt weak, but for some reason he didn't want to leave Axel's arm, for some weird reason he felt safe and that he had done this before, which was impossible since he only met Axel a few days ago, then he remembered something Axel said "Axel why did you say Kingdom Hearts?" he never heard anyone say that before.
Again Axel tensed, shoot I shouldn't have said anything now he is going to be more curious and will think I am keeping something from him, and then he won't trust me, curse it what to do! He mentally screamed in his head.
He never noticed Roxas waving his hand in front of his face "Yoo-hoo earth to teacher, is anybody in there?" he sang out loud.
He screamed when Axel pushed away suddenly and moved to the other side of the room looking like he was going to have a panic attack, this was the weirdest sight Roxas had ever seen as he always saw teachers and grown-ups composed, to see one like Axel he actually felt sad for thinking they weren't human at all. Carefully moving toward Axel so as not to startle him he carefully wrapped his arms around Axels waist and made soothed noises as if calming down a child and said the same words Axel said to him when he had a panic attack "remember Axel, remember what you said to me sir, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth like this" he showed Axel but it wasn't helping so he did the only thing he could think of, he held Axel's face in his hands and made him look him in the eye, it slowly seemed to work as his eyes began flickering around as if seeing where he was.
Axel's eyes were flickering everywhere until he felt something warm on both of his cheeks and meet the most wonder fullest sea eyes he ever saw, when he was able to calm down he realised that Roxas was helping him and they were in a sort of awkward position as Roxas looked like he was straddling him. Mentally shaking himself for a having a panic attack he slowly moved his hands to Roxas' so he could move them, but without breaking contact as he wanted it to last as much as possible.
Realising what was happening Roxas quickly moved his hands as if they had been burnt and helped Axel to stand up and sit him on the edge of the bed "are you okay?" he asked softly.
Axel still couldn't tear his eyes away from Roxas until Roxas asked him a question, he realised that he had been moved and quickly tried to make it look less awkward for them both "I-I'm fine" he stuttered feeling really weak and pathetic "I had a panic attack didn't I?" Roxas nodded "thank you, for helping me with that, that's the first time it has ever happened to me" it was slightly true, it was the first one he ever had in this place.
Roxas just nodded and tried to think of something to break the tension "so what now?"
That got a reaction as Axel was back to his cocky self "well we don't have to worry about your stuff as I got everything that you need most, but if you want we can go back to your place and get the rest and don't worry I did not peek at anything that may have been considered personal to you, I may have a cocky personality but even I know where I cross the line to some sort of snoop/paedophile" he rambled and Roxas was having a hard time trying to understand him.
When Axel realized that he was rambling so he quickly changed topic "Anyway are you hungry?"
As if by magic Roxas' stomach began to growl and Roxas held it while giving a sheepish smile and a blush.
Axel once again had to stop himself from going all creepy on Roxas "well let me make something while you get yourself cleaned up, there's a bathroom attached to this room, there's some clean clothes in there as well and don't worry they're yours so you don't have to worry about wearing mine" he left the room so he wouldn't freak Roxas out even more.
Roxas just stared at the door for a long time before quickly making his way to the bathroom, he had to admit it did have a nice atmosphere to it, the walls were a burgundy colour tiles, the floor had white tiles with some black fancy pattern drawn on them, he was even more happy when he realized that Axel had one of those bath built in showers, after seeing where his clean clothes were he quickly turned on the shower so that it would warm up, then he took off his dirty ones and placed them in the washing basket near the bathroom door before stepping into the shower and closing the curtain, he noticed that all his washing equipment was placed on a separate shelf from Axel's so he didn't have to worry about who's cleaning stuff was who's. He grabbed his cleaning sponge, added some shower gel on it before proceeding to wash himself thoroughly.
Axel was in the kitchen making a light dish when he heard the shower turn on, he sighed as he placed the knife down on the counter, he hands gripping the edge of the counter as he tried to push away all the memories from before to the back of his head, he had to stop this, Roxas didn't know about him yet and if he tried to bring anything up from back then, it may just end up killing him, he looked up asking the unknown for help and hoping that he didn't make any mistakes like last time.
