Will gathered his things from his desk and stuffed them into his backpack. People around him began to file out of the room, eager to escape the confinements of the classroom. Will took his backpack while being bumped and pushed by a various of guys from his psych class. Will rolled his eyes and paid no mind to it. He did not care to fight with idiots. The professor stopped him before he could get a foot out the door.
"Yes, Professor Budge?" Will was careful not to groan when he responded.
"Your essay about classical era was very interesting." The professor said. He handed Will the perfectly kept paper and smiled, "There is an orchestra in town… maybe you would be interested?"
"Um, thank you…" Will stuttered. He kept his eyes fixed on the paper in his hands, "Whe-when is it?"
"This coming Sunday." He answered.
"I don't think I have anything planned, but I'm not sure." Will explained, "I will email you later."
"Alright." The man agreed.
Will scurried out of the classroom. He was unsure if he should have given that answer or completely turned him down. Will did not enjoy the company of that professor. Tobias Budge used to glare at Will in class or so he thought. It never crossed his mind that perhaps he was interested in him. Will turned down that thought and figured that it was simply a teacher being helpful.
Hannibal was walking down the hallway and he spotted Will coming. The hallways were usually empty, since most students would go to the library where it was a bit warmer or the cafeteria to chat with friends. Will lifted his vision and noticed Hannibal. He smiled and gave a small wave at the professor. Hannibal chuckled and quickened his pace to meet Will a lot faster.
"Good evening Will." Hannibal greeted, "How was your class?"
"Dull, but it's over and that's what counts." Will answered. He glanced around and pecked Hannibal's lips, "Sorry, couldn't resist." Hannibal smirked and kissed back quickly, "Where were you heading off to?"
"The office to get a list for next semester's students." Hannibal explained.
"One more semester and I won't take your class anymore." Will began to walk with him.
"You won't need to." Hannibal said, "I could always use you as a teacher's assistant."
"That could work." Will agreed.
"It'll be boring without you. Most students that take my class don't end up being diamonds like yourself." Hannibal said. Will blushed but took the compliment, "Christmas vacation is coming up soon, do you have any plans, Will?"
"I don't want to return home." Will shrugged, "And Alana uses the house for a weekend."
"How would you like to spend it with me?" Hannibal explained, "I have a cabin near a lake in the mountain."
"Dr. Lecter…" Will smiled, "I never took you for such a romantic."
"I'm not usually, but I was thinking about doing something else." Hannibal smirked. Will immediately knew what Hannibal meant.
Hannibal entered the office, while Will waited outside. He placed the essay inside of his backpack and considered telling Hannibal about Tobias. He put on his backpack when Hannibal came back outside with the papers in hand. They began to walk back to the office.
"So, what do you say Will?"
"Wouldn't miss it." Will smiled. Hannibal chuckled and touched Will's hand lightly, "Oh, my music theory professor, said something about an orchestra for Sunday."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, Professor Budge?" Will explained, "My paper was on the classical music era and he wants me to accompany him I guess."
"I don't think it's a good idea…" Hannibal replied, "Unless, you want me to take you."
"I wouldn't mind, but I don't really want to go with him." Will said as Hannibal unlocked the door to his office.
"Decline the invitation." Hannibal suggested. Will nodded and sat down on the chair he always sat in, "So… are we… a couple now?" Will asked nonchalantly. Hannibal turned to him, "Well, we kind of… did stuff and…?"
"Would you want to be couple?"
"I wouldn't mind." Will shrugged. Hannibal chuckled and noticed the pinky tinge in his cheeks.
"Will, would you want to be couple?" Hannibal asked.
"Yes." Will smiled. Hannibal kissed Will's cheek and went back to filing some papers.
"Do you want rings?" Hannibal teased.
"No!" Will blushed, "I was just wondering… and well-!"
"It's fine, Will. I know what you meant." Hannibal chuckled. Will let out of deep breath and rubbed his palms casually on the rough surface of his jeans. His jeans turned a darker shade when he was done.
"Give me a couple of minutes and we'll go home." Hannibal explained.
Will had left his car at home. It was repaired, but Hannibal had insisted on taking him to school. Will could not refuse the offer. They had not gone farther than a blow job and touching each other. Hannibal kept on reminding Will that he wanted to wait.
Sometimes Will would stay in Hannibal's home for a night and sometimes Hannibal would stay in his. It was weird to see his very formal professor wake up with bed head and walk around in the morning in just his boxers. Will would never get used to it.
"Ready to go home?" Hannibal asked. Will nodded and lifted his backpack and placed it on his shoulder.
They walked out of the building, Hannibal explaining something about the lecture to Will. Once they reached Hannibal's car, Hannibal pulled Will into a deep kiss. The car made it really awkward for both of them to get a good position, but they managed to get the message across. They pulled away and Hannibal drove. Will did not mind if they went to Hannibal's home or his own. He just wanted to spend time with Hannibal. Since he was in class all day and sometimes he saw Hannibal sometimes he did not. Hannibal pulled up in Will's driveway.
"Let's cook dinner." Hannibal said.
Will beamed and got out of the car eagerly. Hannibal went to his trunk to pull out some bags for dinner and an overnight stay bag. He hoped to have a nice dinner with his lover.
Will felt a heavy hand on his lower back; he turned his head to the side and rubbed his eyes. Hannibal was still asleep. Will smirked and kissed Hannibal's cheek. He was glad that he beat his lover and had woken up before him. However, the kiss woke up Hannibal a bit and let him go. Will chuckled and got out of bed. His phone buzzed on the nightstand and he picked it up.
"H-hello?" His throat dry from last night.
"Will, did I wake you up?" It was Abigail.
"Kind of," Will said sitting at the edge of the bed, "What's wrong?"
"I'm in the airport. Nick is getting our luggage and I was wondering if you were home." Abigail asked.
"N-not…" He turned back to Hannibal, who had turned his back to Will, "Not exactly…"
"What does 'not exactly' even mean?" She said.
"I'll text you when you can come."
"I thought you were off?" Abigail said, "It's Saturday, so you shouldn't have plans." Will chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I have finals next week and it's a Saturday I should have plans."
"Uh, no. You're Will Graham." Abigail teased, Will rolled his eyes, "Just text me then. I have to go visit family anyway."
Will hung up the phone and placed it back on the nightstand. Will checked on Hannibal. He was awake, but he laid in bed with his eyes closed as if trying to get back to sleep. Will scurried into the bathroom and took his medication. He thought whether to have Hannibal home when Abigail got to his house.
"Who called you?" Hannibal asked as Will came into the room.
"Abigail." Will responded, "She wants to visit me." He sat down at the edge of the bed, but Hannibal pulled him back into his arms.
"Are you going to go with Professor Budge?" Hannibal asked.
"I told him no. He looked kind of pissed." Will said. Hannibal kissed Will's forehead before getting out of bed himself.
"Do you want to stay to meet Abigail?" Will asked. Hannibal went into the bathroom.
"I think you should tell her yourself." Hannibal responded. He turned on the sink, "You said that she thinks of me as creepy."
"She was teasing."
"Is she aware that we are in a relationship?"
"No."
"You should tell her." Hannibal .
"Alright, I'll tell her, but she'll want a double date." Will answered. Hannibal came out of the bathroom. His hair was disheveled and he was wearing his pajama pants.
"Then we can go on a double date, there's a parade in town after your last final. We can go with Abigail and her boyfriend." Hannibal proposed. Will nodded with a smile.
"It's a date." Will replied. Hannibal laughed to himself and pulled his trouser on, "Are you leaving?"
"I have to go into town and get some things for tomorrow's dinner." Hannibal stated. Will turned to Hannibal confused, "You're dining with me tomorrow remember. I'm helping you study for your final."
Will nodded and texted Abigail that he'd be free in three hours. Hannibal slipped on his dress shirt and opened the door of the bedroom. The dogs began to flood into the bedroom. They hopped on Will and begged to be petted by Hannibal. Hannibal stepped over to Will and pecked his lips.
"See you later, love." Hannibal whispered.
For a single moment, they were lost in each other's scent. His hand pressed carefully on Will's shoulder and Will's hand touching Hannibal's cheeks. They met eyes for a second and that second dragged on. They both knew that at some point that that feeling would wash over and the simple nothings would no longer have meaning. But for the moment they both wanted to enjoy every minute of it.
Hannibal left the house; leaving a very lonely Will. His dogs jumped on Will since they noticed the gloomy aura around him once Hannibal left. Will got to cleaning the house immediately. He had to get ready before Abigail got to his house as well, so he had a lot to do on his hands.
He changed the sheets of his bed because of last night. Will blushed as he recalled the events of last night. Nothing too special, just Hannibal prepared Will for penetration for another time. It frustrated Will to be treated like a child, but he knew that the professor knew more about the subject than Will.
After Will showered and changed, he made himself a quick breakfast. Once he sat down, there was a knock on the door. Will knew it was Abigail and practically ran to the door. He opened it with one swing and Abigail embraced him causing Will to stumble back a few steps.
"Will, I missed you so much!" Abigail exclaimed.
"I missed you too, Abigail." Will laughed.
Abigail let go and turned back to the man standing behind her. He was tall with pale skin and ginger coloured hair. He looked out of place, but once Abigail turned to him, he felt a bit more confident.
"This is my boyfriend, Nicholas Boyle." Abigail said. The man extended his hand.
"You can call me Nick." He informed. Will smiled softly and shook Nick's hand.
"Will Graham." He introduced himself. He let them go inside his house. Abigail took her favorite seat in Will's house and Nick sat next to her. Will sat across from Abigail.
"How's school?" Will asked.
"Boring. I'm almost done with my major. Nick is too."
"What are you majoring in?" Will questioned.
"Architecture." Nick responded.
"Must be interesting." Will tried to make conversation.
"I guess." Nick shrugged, "I'm designing a new building for the university we attend, so that's pretty interesting."
"They're going to start construction in about a year." Abigail added, "How about you, Will?"
"Almost done." Will responded, "I… uh, just need a year or so." Abigail kept eyeing Will as if telling him to give up the gossip about who he was dating, but Will was a bit embarrassed with Nick.
"So… this person you're dating…" Abigail asked. Will swallowed and ignored his heart beating twice as fast.
"It's um…"
"Is it anyone I know?"
"Yeah…" Will mumbled.
"Well, who is it? Is it Beverly?"
"No."
"Freddie."
"Could I have a glass of water?" Nick asked. Will was relived for Nick's request and got up to get it. Abigail hit Nick's arm and blamed him for the delay of gossip. Will gave Nick the cup and sat back down.
"Abigail…" Will began, "If I tell you, you have to promise me not to tell anyone."
"Yeah, why?" Abigail queried, "Is it someone you shouldn't be with?"
"It's Han- I mean, Dr. Lecter." Will flinched a little when Abigail gasped and placed her hands on her face.
"What!?" Abigail shouted, "Will!" She lowered her volume, "That's! You can't! If the university finds out-!"
"They won't we have it under control." Will said.
"Until Freddie finds out." Abigail replied, "You know how she is."
Will knew that it was true. He knew the moment Freddie Lounds knew about it she would publish it. Not because she hated Will or Hannibal, but because she wanted publicity for her journalism. Will chewed on his lower lip, his eyes staring down on the floor. He heard a sigh coming from Abigail and looked back up.
"Do you like him?" Abigail asked. Will nodded, "Does he like you?"
"I believe so." Will answered.
"Then, there's nothing wrong with you two being together." Abigail settled the situation, "So, when can I meet him? I knew him from school, but I want to meet him. For your sake."
"There's a parade coming up. We discussed it and thought it would be a good place." Will replied, "Get a coffee before the parade and then head out." Abigail nodded and turned to Nick.
"You don't mind." Abigail asked.
"Not at all." Nick shrugged.
"It's on Thursday, after my final…" Will said, "So around two in the afternoon."
"Sure." Abigail agreed.
Will was relieved that Abigail did not care much about Hannibal being his boyfriend. Abigail was like a sister to Will, so Will wanted her approval. They chatted for a little more, Nick did not seem too engaged to the conversation. However, Abigail was happy with him. Will was happy for her. She left not too long afterwards and said that she would see him on Thursday. Will said goodbye and resumed the chores he had to finish.
I am so sorry, for those of you who read this before. One person reviewed on how it looked and I went back to see and it was just a mess! I apologize! I also apologize if it seems rushed, but Will and Hannibal have not moved in together, they just spend nights with each other. They haven't had sex yet (and most couples have sex within the first month), they have not said the L word, it doesn't seem rushed to me, but if it does to you, I apologize. Thanks for reading! Please enjoy!
