December, date unknown

Holy Toledo! Today was absolutely insane! If I'd known what was going to happen I never would've left Dimmsdale.

I woke up this morning in the cave, as usual, and it was snowing, as usual. Jorgen appeared before me and promised that he'd clear up the weather…. if I agreed to go back to Dimmsdale. Since I was pretty much a sitting duck with no food or water I had no choice but to agree to his ridiculous terms. So, he got out his wand and sent the three of us to the town square.

The downtown district looked like a twister hit it! There were broken windows, some upside down cars, and no adults in sight. At first I thought that maybe the snow storm was behind it, but then I noticed that there were new flags. Instead of the American flag waving in the air it was a purple one with double L's in the center.

"What's going on?" I asked, "What happened?"

"It was Lauren Ledergerber! She and the other B.R.A.T.s overthrew the mayor and took control of the city!"

"Oh man, I must've been gone even longer than I thought! I bet it's been days; weeks even!"

"You've been gone for one day," said Jorgen.

"Seriously?" I asked. It felt like I'd been in that cave for an eternity, and he was telling me that it had only been one day? He nodded in response. "Geez, Lauren sure works fast," I said.

"That's why I wanted you to fight against her, but you didn't listen! This whole thing is your fault!"

"I did this? Sweet!"

"NO! Not sweet! The teenagers are in control of the town and the adults and kids are in underground bunkers!"

"And this is bad because?"

Jorgen narrowed his eyes at me.

"Because your family is too!" he spat.

I gasped in horror. It's true that I used to hate my folks and the people of Dimmsdale, and although I still don't care for the city much I've had a small change of heart about my family. Thanks to the B.R.A.T.s my parents, grandparents and sister are suffering alongside the rest of the citizens. I can't even imagine what kind of 'special treatment' that purple haired witch Lauren might be giving them!

"Where is she!?" I demanded. "Where can I find Lauren!?"

A familiar voice pierced the air, and I realized that there were giant megaphones on poles by the city hall.

"Good morning citizens of Laurensburg! This is your ruler speaking!"

I charged straight for the city hall, ignoring the protests from Jorgen. When I got to the front doors I was surprised to see that the place was heavily guarded. Then again I should've figured that she'd have security because I would've too. Needless to say I was captured. The guards threw me into a cell under the police station—the same one that I'd been in when I was accused of kidnapping that stupid goat Chompy. I looked around, expecting to see other prisoners, but it looks like I'm the only one here.

So, now I'm sitting here in a dingy cell with only a small window to provide me with light. I was hoping that Jorgen would've come rescued me by now but he's nowhere in sight. Where the hell is he!?

Shoot, someone's entering the dungeon area. I doubt it's Jorgen, since he would've just popped into the center of my cell, so it's probably one of the guards. I'm going to stop writing for now.

A/N: Looks like things are finally picking up for our red haired…hero? Let me know what you guys think about this chapter and the story as a whole. Happy Holidays!
